Absolutely love this store! The staff is so incredibly friendly and helpful here. What I love the most is they have a designer on site who can truly help being your vision to life! They are so helpful with color selections and they also offer window treatments. They also offer color services where someone will come to your home and help pick out the best colors. I will definitely be using this for certain rooms in my home once we get there. I also brought in a drawer from my bathroom vanity to get a match for my other cabinets in the bathroom - I got a sample from here, sherwin Williams, menards, and Home Depot. Benjamin Moore had the best match out of everyone. This store is truly the best when it comes to paint! read more

If you need good paint and help with paint, this is the place to go. We just worked with Melissa, if she isn't the store manager, she could be! She knew everything. She gave us choices explaining the various benefits of the options we had. She was super nice too. I have been coming to Jc Licht for years and have never been disappointed. Celeste helped for many years with windows coverings, color and and other decor advice. I guess it is as simple as this place has dedicated employees with education and experience you need. I stopped in to get some paint chops as I'm painting my laundry room. I decided since I spend so much time doing laundry I was going to pick some bold color. When I arrived I made a bee line for the paint chips. I fumbled around and was asked if I needed help. The woman who assisted me was GREAT! I told her what I was looking for and showed her photos and we came up with some options. Now I have to talk my hubby into these colors! COVID stuff....you need to wear a mask, they have an order online and pick up option. If you are going on the weekend, you may have to wait for help. My visit was on a Tuesday at 4pm. As a professional contractor since 1988 my expectations have been consistently exceeded by the staff at JC Lichts Wheaton. Their star has risen even higher with their level of service during the Covid-19 siege. They do so much more than just peddle paint. Joel and his staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and hard working. It certainly helps that they have quality coatings and sundries to aid the contractor in delivering professional results. My expenditures for painting products at JC Lichts is higher than their next competitor by a factor of 10. I would not be in business without them. read more

Tony at the Wheaton location was extremely helpful during our visit to the store to purchase some full body exterior stain. He knew exactly what we needed and had the stain color matched within a couple minutes. He made sure that we approved the color and had our order ready within a half hour. He went so far as to help us load the 10 gallons of paint into our car. JC Licht is truly a one-stop-shopping store for both professionals and home owners. We purchase all of our paint from this store and Benjamin Moore paints withstand the test of time. We've painted rooms as long as 30 years ago and they only require a light soap and water rinse to look like they were painted yesterday. Tony is completely customer focused. What happened to this location? Where are the happy, helpful, no pressure employees that were your friend? The ones that genuinely wanted the project outcome you envisioned? That's what has kept me coming back. This location was one of my favorites. The store has been rearranged, which is fine, but now to grab some paint swatches you must walk past the in store interior designers. I get it. It ups the odds to make sales and interact. What doesn't help is a floating designer with a dismissive attitude. I walked in planning to make a purchase and walked out empty handed. I bounced my thoughts off of her, she looked at the swatches, told me what she would do, laid the swatches back on the counter to walk away and say good luck. She also missed opportunities as she did not ask if I needed anything else. I may try again on another day to see if any of the friendly faces are behind the counter. If not, I'll be headed to another location. Benjamin Moore's products are excellent. Unfortunately, today's experience with the staff was not. The store was dead as it is the weekend before Thanksgiving. You'd think some interaction and creativity beats sitting at a desk alone. read more

Worked with a consultant to order new window treatments. The blinds themselves are good quality but the customer service and communication were terrible. If the consultant had just picked up the phone or texted me to let me know what was going on it would have been a better experience. I started the process of replacing my shades in January and this is April 4th and I still have not made any progress. I will not order any more window treatments from J C Licht because of this experience. I have never posted on Yelp before and am only doing this now so someone else does not have the same frustrating experience. read more

Great selection of paints. Benjamin Moore is a great quality paint, that saves you time at your project. If you own a business it's well worth opening an account to get a contractor discount. Otherwise, prices can be a bit steep. People are courteous and service is quick. read more

I came in with several wall issues that I didn't know how to solve. The individual in the paint dept resolved them, one by one, with products I didn't even know existed! Great help, reasonable prices and wonderful solutions make this store the only stop I make when decorating. They also have a huge wallpaper selection. read more

This location is on my short list of businesses I will go out of my way and recommend to anyone. I wasted time going to Sherwin Williams, Pittsburgh and every hardware store chain. No one except these employees at this store could give me a logical reason why their paint was better. Most places try to dazzle you with gimmicky marketing terms but are clueless on the science and chemistry behind why their paint lasts longer and holds color better. Purchased Prime Lock Primer at employee suggestion for chest which was stripped and sanded. To note we have finished several family pieces of furniture previously so this is not out first project. This is to be a gift for our grand daughter. Primer coat was a complete disaster - did not coat smoothly and evenly! Returned to store for advice to resolve problem and they had nothing! Ace Hardware suggested completely strip piece and star over. Frustrated with Licht & Co and faced with more work! read more
