My husband and I were in search of curtains and rods for three bedroom windows. Although it took us a bit of time to track down someone to help us, (Thus only 4 stars.) once we did we were very pleased with the assistance and suggestions Vincent offered us. (Mind you we realized then that he was taking care of the Appliance section as well!) We left the store so as to go home and do a little more research and returned a couple hours later. Upon our return we saw Vincent helping someone bring a small appliance to their car! When we got upstairs, Lori, who was then filling in for Vincent in Appliances, came and helped us! In the end, because the order needed to be made on line, Lori completed the order for us and Vincent reminded us of a couple things to remember and keep in mind when they arrived. They were both so very helpful and it always makes a customer feel good when they see real team work taking place at a retail store in order to help folks! i wish i could give this place negative stars the customer service is absolutely TRASH. i don't care what the situation is, you should NEVER roll your eyes and be short patient with your customers. the workers upstairs in the online order department are very rude and not understanding whatsoever. i've never dealt with online orders nor pick ups from an online order. my mother who isn't that knowledgeable of technology ordered a red beanie and had me pick it up. i get there and gave the lady my name and number and nothing was popping up so then she got a quick attitude and called someone else over and left. now i'm being helped by this man. this is when everything went down hill. he was absolutely RUDE. i'm on the phone with my mom asking for the order number and i'm giving it to him and he's getting mad because it wasn't working because she was accidentally giving me too many numbers. he rudely interrupts me and says with such attitude "can't she just take a screenshot and send it". i kindly tell him no my mom doesn't know how to do that on her phone then he got even more irritated , rolled his eyes and asked when it was ordered. i said it was ordered that day and that her notification said it'll be available for pick up the same day. so i told him it was ordered that day he gave me the DIRTIEST look ever and said "nope it'll be available tomorrow " & threw his hands up are me. if looks could kill i'd be six feet under. as an employee at the same exact mall , i will no longer be sending my customers over to Jcpenny. the majority of my customers shop at Jcpenny or will ask where Jcpenny is. I'll let them know about the rude customer service and advise them to shop at macy's or go to a different Jcpenny location because the one at Parkway Plaza needs to retrain their team on customer service. you don't treat people like that. shop at macy's y'all. or go to fashion valley. read more

Like the people in the store... One of the door bins in my 85 mother in law Brand new GE refridgerator fell off and shattered.They referred me to the customer care number about a broken part on a $1400, three day old GE refrigerator and that's when the running around began. The customer care people were awful and said that I only had 48hours to report an issued and that they would need a GE techniction to come out an inspect the fridge. I call BS. I asked to speak to a Manager and was given the same snarky answers. I asked for JC Penney's GE number and was given the wrong number. I finally was able to locate GE customer service number and explained what happened and JC Penney's response and was told that my mother in law GE fridge was within warranty guidlines. She quickly took my information and ordered the part. as I am writing this review I just got a conformation the part is being sent. Save yourself the hassel and buy your expensive appliances from companies that have good , trained customer service employees. read more

This store reached strike three with me today. I've gone there in the past, and ordered a lot of merchandise online to pick up from there, and every time I've left with the impression the employees are poorly trained in customer service skills. I encountered the employee working the order pick up counter before and thought then that she was cool, aloof and not very customer-service friendly. I excused her behavior that time, but today when I encountered her again, I realized she is profiling certain customers. She ordered me to move behind a sign to wait my turn - a sign that was not visible before - because of a "fight" that broke out between two customers before - yet when the next couple stopped exactly where I was before to be waited on next (putting them ahead of me in line), she told them "I'll be with you in a minute." She said nothing about waiting yards away. I asked her why she didn't tell them what she'd told me and she did not respond. I reported her to the floor manager, wrote about her in my online "dissatisfaction" survey, and will never shop at JC Penney's again - not online and not in any store anywhere. Treat every customer the same, or at least don't be so blatant in your discriminatory/profiling practices. read more

I liked this store very much! The help I received in the baby dept was over the top! It is a clean store and they have more choices to choose from. It is way better than Kohl's!!! The photo dept was very patient and friendly with my 3 grandsons, (4yrs, 8mos, 1mo.) The photos turned out great! read more

I came here to get my hair styled for prom by Carmen. She at first seemed snappy and disinterested, and then she got extremely rude when she found out she had to wash my hair (as I was never told my hair had to be washed beforehand). My hair is fairly long and has bleached shafts and ends making it very delicate- she didn't care. She literally tore hair out of my scalp she brushed it so hard (as she was visibly angry). Needless to say, I lost a lot of hair, my scalp ended up sore (which says something considering my scalp isn't sensitive whatsoever) and the condition of my hair is absolutely awful now (I will have to get more than a foot cut off to make it look decent now). The final hairstyle wasn't even what I had wanted-I didn't like it one bit- and she kind of pushed what I wanted aside/dissuaded me so it'd be faster (and I didn't fight her cause I just wanted to get the hell out). Needless to say it was an awful experience, I was self-conscious of my hair the entire time at prom, and I will never be going back! Go anywhere but here, or ask for anyone but Carmen. read more

This review is for their upstairs small appliance/home good section only. My long time Oster blender had finally worn out and I needed new blender. There was a display of blenders and the Oster Blender Plus 300 was priced at $70.00 but there was a "sale" stand next to it but with no price. It took a while but I found a sales person to scan the box and it was now $39.95. I decided to buy it. One hour later when I was in Walmart in the same mall, they had the exact same unit for six dollars less. I then went Online which I know I should have done in the first place and found that the 40 price was the going rate at most places. I couldn't find one place that even came close to the $70 price. I returned the blender to Penney's. My complaint is this...It is very dishonest to label the blender as being a $70 item. They are playing the consumer for dumb. Yes they have the right to charge whatever price they want but there are consequences. I am in the market for a new washer/dryer. i won't even consider looking at Penney's. I don't trust them. I don't want to play their pricing games. read more
