This is after I try wiping my face at home.

Went in as a last resort and came out with soppy hair. The stylist, Mandi, was welcoming but her artistry fell short when she left me with a dye-stained facial and neck outline. She didn't time the appointment well and asked if I would mind leaving the salon with partially wet hair yet no discount was offered to me. I received an all-over, single color dye for $80. Best to look elsewhere if you want to walk out with any dignity.

Absolutely love love my fellow stylist friend here at JCPenneys. She has done both my haircut and then my color. never lets me down.

This is seriously one of the best color experiences I've had. Candice, my fellow coworker and stylist friend did not let me down with this fashion color experience. She is a seasoned stylist and I love watching her play around with color. I love doing color as well. I just love her work and learning from her. I posted pictures of her work as well as mine. We are a great team and great salon

My name is Devin, this is my work from the last month at JCPenney salon, just wanted to post some positive pictures to let you know what kind of work usually leaves our salon. If there's ever any issue with clients we always offer redos, if a client ever has any issue they are encouraged to tell us that way that stylist or another more qualified stylist can fix it. We offer a professional and comfortable vibe, if you ever want an in depth color appointment I suggest you call and speak to someone instead of using online booking so we can best assist and prepare to make your hair goals come true

After watching my savings go down the drain repeatedly at high-end salons with nothing to show for it, except failed color corrections, hot roots, and choppy, damaged hair, I almost gave up and went back to box dye, but in a last-ditch effort, I thought I'd try the JC Penny Salon in Silverdale, to just get a root touch up, haircut, toner, and a money piece. I went to Angela- the woman with blue hair- you can't miss her. my hair is somewhat tricky because I'm naturally blonde with fine hair and have a light brunette base with ashy blonde balayage. I know my hair and told her exactly how I want it, and Angela told me that she has plenty of experience working with hair like mine, so I trusted her. As the hours passed by, Angela completely did her own thing and refused to communicate w me or answer my questions. She turned the chair so I couldn't see what was going on and whenever I asked a question she would say something condescending. The roots were hot.. big surprise, so when she went to redo them, she wouldn't tell me what color she used. I was shocked by how many foils she was putting in but she assured me she wasn't going to touch the underneath of my hair which is darker for dimension. After two rounds of being under the dryer, she said that my hair looked as healthy as ever as she was washing the bleach out. We get to the chair, omg, my hair was FRIED, strands gummy, and even shaking a piece of hair lightly broke it off. Angela kept saying That this is normal and she said "well did you go to school for hair? No." And "I've been doing this forever, this is just what happens with bleach. She goes "are you an expert? No. (Laughs), I thought someone with blonde hair would know this is STANDARD" rude af With clumps of hair on the floor and yellow blotchy stringy hair with random pieces of dark weaved in, I left. This has trumped any failed hair attempt by a landslide. I talked to the manager who was nice and empathetic and she even seemed like this Angela character is off the rails and should quit her day job and go back to beauty school. RUN Don't walk away from this place.

First time being here yesterday and had a horrible experience I came in for a partial foil to touch up my roots for the holidays, tipped the stylist to wake up this morning in tears. My hair has boxed, un evened highlights that are orange!!! The lady doing it named Mandy also leaves you in a bad position sitting with bleach in your head talking about her opinions on politics that's a no good being in customer service. All around horrible experience and management. I am hoping to save someone else in not making my mistake.

Different colored hair by Mercy who kept saying it was same color.
    Haesun C.

I went to JC Penny Salon for hair color and a hair cut last Fri. I got my hair done by Mercy who my friend referred me to.  I didn't want the color to be too different as it grew.  I told her that I want it to be brown.  A little lighter than my original color and a little darker than the bottom colored hair. When I saw my hair in the mirror before shampooing I noticed that the top part is getting lighter than bottom. I let her know and she said that it would calm down and be the same color after shampooing. When I got home I could see the top part was lighter. I called the salon the next day, and I expressed my concerns about it.  They asked me to come in yesterday. I went in assuming that she would fix my hair. When I sat on the chair, she looked at my hair, and said it was the same color. It looked different because of the light. She even asked the stylist who was next to her who was doing another client's hair to check my hair color. Of course she would said it was the same color in front of her. And she said that she couldn't fix it. It was going to be $75 an hour if I wanted her to correct my hair when she messed up my hair in the first place. She kept lifting the bottom of my hair to the top to compare the color. She kept saying it was the same color. When I could see the bottom was darker. She also said I should have paid more than 200 at the beginning for a correction if I wanted it to be even. Nobody is going to a hair salon to get their hair color done unevenly. I would do it by myself if I had known that it was gonna be uneven. She never said anything about an extra charge for a correction at the first place Nothing made sense to me. I told her thank you and I got up and walked to the receptionist to see if the manager were available. As we were talking, the stylist came up and made excuses again, and asked the receptionist to take photos of my hair. I was very uncomfortable.  I am very upset that the stylist didn't want to take responsibility. Also, she made up a story that she already explained it at the beginning. In my opinion, stylists always correct or redo their mistakes if the client is not happy with the results. UPDATE: The salon manager Jessica called me today, and all she did was defending her employee. She didnt want to listen to me, and said that Mercy already explained everything that I had to pay extra for a correction. And she said I didn't want to pay for it . To be honest, we didn't have that kind of conversation at all. All I said was I got an estimate from the other salon for hair color by a phone and they said 120. The price wasn't for a correction just the salon was expensive. Now she twisted the story that I didn't wanna pay that much money for a correction. I feel like because I don't speak English very well she could make up the story. The manager said she trusted her employee, and she is a professional hairstylist. That saying I'm a lair? Bad management!!!

This how it looked after it was all done. She did THIS based on just a couple comments and descriptions.
    Mama M.

I went and seen Bekah for my hair appointment and she is absolutely wonderful. Super understanding, caring, and listened to exactly what I wanted! She did exactly what I wanted based on just a couple of comments and close pictures I gave her. I definitely recommend seeing her for any hair appointments needed!

Definitely took a layer of skin. Looks like I will scab!

I was seriously burned today while getting my brows waxed. These photos were just taken at 8pm, my appointment was at 2:15 pm. Nearly 6 hours later! Its super painful and looks like I will have a scab in one spot

I mostly chose this…read moreplace due to the convenience of scheduling an appointment online, but the reviews were also promising. The lady who trimmed my hair did a decent job and was nice. My review, however, is for an atrocious experience I had with the owner, Brandi Wilson. My sister's first time at Envy didn't go as well as mine. Someone there attempted a balayage that... Well, let's just say she's had to spend hundreds of dollars correcting at other salons. Unsure of how the refund process works, she took me with her to speak with the manager about it. Ms. Wilson was with a client when we walked in. Awkwardly, my sister had to explain her situation while Ms. Wilson washed another lady's hair. She barely looked at us and acted like we were an annoying distraction from her work. Nevertheless, my sister kindly explained that the stylist didn't use the freehand painting technique that one uses for a proper balayage. Instead, she used foils from root to tip, all over, which resulted in chunky highlights that didn't naturally blend in. It was not a balayage in any way, shape, or form. (Picture attached.) Ms. Wilson saw that picture and didn't see anything wrong with it. She responded, first, with a lecture on what balayage is in an effort to discredit us - with misinformation, no less. She said balayage "isn't necessarily a technique" - no, it is a technique. That's literally what it is, what makes it special in the first place - the unique application. The more she talked about it, the more ignorant and patronizing she came across. She told us we have to talk to the stylist and that she could give us the stylist's number. All well and good. But then she left us standing there and continued picking apart my sister's complaint. She kept saying unhelpful, inflammatory things like, "Well if you'd talked to [the stylist] first maybe she would've fixed your hair for free." I don't know if she was in a bad mood or what, but she wanted to argue. Understandably I was irritated by this, but I stayed calm. I said we didn't want the original stylist to fix my sister's hair. Ms. Wilson acted like she had been personally attacked. She raised her voice and became visibly angry, demanding, "What do you want me to do?" I tried to say we just wanted the stylist's number but she kept talking over me. It made us very uncomfortable, so I had to tell her to chill. She seriously needed to calm down; there was no need for her to get defensive and escalate the situation. Instead, she lost it. She started yelling. She told us to leave before she called the police. She shouted, and I quote, "Exit my fricken business!" I was beyond done and going to leave, but we still needed the stylist's number for a refund. So I asked her, calmly, "Could you please give us [the stylist's] contact information?" I thought it was a reasonable request. Still enraged, she snapped, "You know what? Find it online." (We have this exchange on video, by the way.) Admittedly I did call her a name right before I left, but it was my only act of aggression in the whole mess and, frankly, she deserved it after the way she treated us. I will be doing what Ms. Wilson said and staying out of her "fricken" business for good. I'm telling everyone I know to avoid Envy as well. There are better salons in the area that are professional, friendly, and highly skilled - Tease and Ross Michaels comes to mind. Ms. Wilson needs to work on basic customer service skills because this does not bode well for any business. As the owner you represent your entire salon, your staff - even if they are independent contractors. You need to treat customers with care and respect. Don't be condescending. Don't make excuses. A little empathy goes a long way. Doing a little research on balayage wouldn't hurt, either.

How about you try to be professional for once. The facts are in your reviews. Plenty of them say the turnover is ridiculous and the prices are too. Is that slander as well? Are you really unable to just be a good business owner? People don't leave businesses, they leave horrible bosses. AKA you, Alicia. You are now slandering someone by stating that they need to have discounted prices after stalking for information to see if I still attend my stylings with her. Of course I do. The way they decided to remove the black from my hair wasn't the wrong thing to do, it was the 4 day break in between two sessions. and the care that wasn't had. This lead to my hair being over processed and extremely damaged. And then the OWNER telling me to come back for highlights. They both should've known better.

It has been a year since I visited Gene Juarez, and I am sorry to report that my most recent visit…read morewas not improved from my last. In fact, in was arguably worse, because I paid more money for the service. To start, I do want to acknowledge that everyone at this salon is kind and engaging, and the environment is always clean. If that is the most important criteria for you, then you will be satisfied with your experience. However, the cuts and styling are always the same... no matter the photo I bring - or the specific requests I make... I always leave with the same look. If it wasn't so frustrating, it would be comical. And while my cut and style are never truly awful (hence the reason I find myself coming back), they are also never truly amazing. Unfortunately, this visit I was also subjected to my stylist sharing very intimate details of her life with me for the entirety of the service, which I do not always mind, but it was a a lot (when I had my own stuff going on). I know I should have utilized better boundaries in regards to the oversharing and my dissatisfaction with the cut, but I was just too tired to negotiate an awkward conversation (especially when I just wanted an hour of ease and pampering). Bottom line: Gene Juarez will probably offer you a decent, cookie cutter style by an engaging stylist in a clean, bright environment. I have certainly had worse experiences, but... I've also had much better.
