Is the salon closing? Have been using the salon for at least 6 years with my appointments late Monday afternoons. There used to be 8-10 stylists working at that time all with clients. Was there last Monday and not only was I the only client, there were only 2 stylists there. My stylist, Tu, is fabulous, gets 5 stars and I'll continue to go there for her services. My review is for the photography studio. I get in a few minutes late and get bumped. Okay no problem. When we are ready to get started, they ask which backdrop you want. They are basic solid options except the one holiday option which was rather dated. It was the first time my granddaughter was having photos taken. I understand that babies are hard to photograph. The photographers are sweet girls who are learning the business so I'm not going to be too hard on them, but training is key. It must take patience to deal with little ones moving and looking everywhere but where you would want them to. The props are kind of stinky so beware when letting baby touch or lay on them. After they finish taking pictures they enhance or try to add some flair and then create a gallery for the customer to choose from. I wasn't entirely content with the results. Even so, out of the 20+ shots, 3 of them were perfect. For decent quality photos with 50% off I can't be a whiner. However, I don't recall our photographer saying it was our responsibility to call in by the expected due date to check if your photos arrived. A week after the expected arrival date I'm thinking there would be some form of communication regarding the status of my order. Perhaps that was too much to ask. After all, you pay for prints, not service apparently. When I decided to finally call, I was put on hold for almost 10 minutes. My photos had been sitting pretty waiting for me to call or pick them up. Major miscommunication is an understatement. For the prices, I would not return. read more

The store is one of those that has gone through a re-vamp and it looks great--very unlike J C Penney that our parents knew. Even the prices are good now. I was checking the Levi's jeans and instead of $58.00 at Kohl's, they were $40.00 at J C Penney, which would never have happened in the past. Beware curbside pickup buyers. I made an online purchase and selected curbside pickup. After parking at designated curbside parking, I checked in JC Penney app and not long after that the app showed preparing + Picked up and they sent me a picked up notification email while I was still at the curbside pick up parking. I was so shocked and kept looking around to see if anyone would come to deliver my package but it never happened. I ended up had to call customer service. Luckily the customer service resolved my problem by refunding me the money. What's going on with this place? How could they let their employees steal the package that easy? JCPenney should come up better ideas for curbside pickup otherwise their employees might do like this with more customers. Terrible shopping experience. read more

Disappointed - I've always had a nice experience at other JC Penney locations that have since closed, but apparently there is a problem with some staff at this location. These 5 stars are specifically for the Senior Designer, Monica Hernandez, at the JCP Hair Salon. I had came in with an idea on my mind about mixing new hair colors together. I had tried other hair salons, but the colors really didn't stay in too long. I am definitely happy about how everything came out! I will definitely be coming back here once I plan my next vacation. It wasn't really expensive. I also got to use one of their coupons. She completely bleached my hair. She put 6 colors in (purple, violet, peach, pink, red, and blue). I had my hair done in December 2018. To this day, 5 months down the line, I can still see the colors in my hair! Everyone loves how it looks! Thank you again Monica! This place has done nothing but go downhill in customer service and store cleanliness. First, they remove more than half of their registers and now you can ONLY make returns downstairs where you pickup online orders. Mind you, all the registers have a customer (dis)service sign above them all and nowhere does it state that returns can only be done downstairs. So now, after wasting 30 minutes waiting in line you are now told to make your way downstairs for all returns and get into another line. Yay me! Now I'm in a line comparable to that of the DMV with the similar level of disdain and politeness. If their goal was to make me want to never set foot in a store again, give yourselves a round of applause because you've succeeded. I want to say that I enjoy this JCPENNEY store which I discovered about three weeks ago. But even MORE SO after TODAY My story is that there were boots there that I loved BUT they were on sale - buy them at full price and get TWO pairs of shoes free. An amazing sale was going on there last weekend and still right now. But, anyway, because I will be moving soon, I could not take the extra pairs of shoes. Matica and her manager worked it out so that I got the boots at a discount without having to take the other shoes. Matica was so good at understanding my problem and made sure that it could be solved with her manager. The day gets BETTER AGAIN because of Matica!!! I had left my wallet on the counter there and did not realize it until quite a while later at Macy's. I ran back to JCPENNEY and LO AND BEHOLD Matica had placed my wallet behind the counter. It was -still open- as I had left it - everything was there as I then expected. I nearly fainted with joy I was so utterly relieved Matica is the best!!!! Her managers were also excellent! But, I have found all the staff I have dealt with there very pleasant and helpful. Wow - what a gift Matica and managers were for me todayI highly recommend this store. It is kept clean, organized and has a really nice stuff. It has good parking too. read more

Do they actually train their employees to be useless? Or maybe they don't train their employees at all? Came in to correct an error on my receipt where they charged me twice for an item - thought this was a "customer service" problem but is in fact a "return desk" problem, and was directed there after waiting for three (one of whom just cut everyone waiting patiently in a long line, thanks for that) customers to finish their transaction. Not only do they purposely waste my time with misleading signs, they will also let you cut in front if you just approach the register. Why bother with lines and signs that say to wait here? Saving grace: the woman at the return desk was very easy going and I was able to get it fixed without any fuss. +1 star. read more

And only three were sent and after two week they sent me a e-mail and said they are out of the stock an refunded me the one they didn't have..! But they didn't say they didn't have that item for 2 weeks...! And second time it happened again ...! I ordred 2 dresses and received only one dress and on the website they said they have in stock but after 2 weeks it change to they are out of stock When I called and asked what is going on and they say may they get it in later, but they don't know for sure...! Went to the jewelry dept to get my daughter earrings on 10/26/29 around 6:30. An older gentleman was helping us get a price on some earrings we saw. They were over $400 but he stated they were on sale. He tried to get us the sale price but it wasn't coming up. He called a manager who then called the jewelry manager. He explained the situation and she stated, "they probably aren't on sale". He said all gold was supposed to be on sale. She then rudely said in a stern voice in front of customers to her employee, "If it's not coming up on the machine then it isn't on sale". We would have bought them at regular price, but after how I saw her treat her employee, we left and will not be returning to Jcpenney. I just had the most indecisive experience here ever. I received a gift card from my father in law for christmas to JCPenny. I wasn't sure what i wanted since they had such a huge store and an even huger selection. Plus the after christmas sales were awsome! Finally after thinking about what i wanted i ran into these cute selection of boots. They had cute suade boots, cute leather boots, tall boots, short boots, etc... I picked out some that had a zipper on the side and went up to my knees. Im glad i got this gift card because now this is the new place i will come to shop. They also have lots of womans apparel. I have returned here twice and done store pick up once... their set up for both is horrible! It's in the side of the store and in a gloomy corner. Long wait time while they allow people to do exchanges as well. Today staff was friendly but on the other occasion they were right out boring and unfriendly. Overall, JCPenny needs to get their shit together and either add another register to get things flowing or allow us to do returns at any register in the store. read more

Why in the world have you removed all of the registers? There are approx 2 registers per floor with terrible lines. And then to have to go to only one register in the entire store to make a return is ridiculous, then you wonder why you're closing stores! Finally to day I receive call that my order was received by 25th of March and I have 5 days to pick them up it means my deadline is tomorrow. Growing up in a middle-income family with 3 girls, shopping at JC Penneys and Sears was our only option. I never thought anything of it but then again it was the 80's and kids our age aren't as spoiled as kids now where there are speciality shops for all different age groups. Their own brands like Worthington (business casual) and A.N.A (think Banana Republic) offers trendy fashions that won't break your bank. Even the shoe department carries Steve Madden. JCPenney customer service sucks! Yesterday I found a chain of key somebody lost in my community, with 10+ keys and some store membership cards on it. I called the number on the JCPenney card, asked for help to find the owner of the key. I told the lady that she did not need to release any information of their customer, but I would leave my number to her, and let their customer contact me if they could identify him. The lady called me back saying they did identify the person but could not reach him, so she asked me to call JCPenney customer service the next day for further help. Then I called JCPenney customer service today, it took over 15 minutes for the phone to get through. I repeated the same request as I did last night, to my surprise the lady bluntly rejected my request, saying they could not use their resource to send their customer a message for a 3rd party! Well, I am only trying to help somebody who lost the key, but JCPenney customer service does not want to help their customer! read more

I love JCP, but the fine print on their coupons is RIDICULOUS, so more and more I find myself not coming here cause using the coupons is a nightmare. We came to this store because we parked near the entrance to this store. While going through the isle and looked at the fall fashions on the racks. However, we did not find anything special today. In the past, we have bought much clothing from JC Penny at the Eastridge Mall. The prices have been reasonable and the clothing has worn well. Most of my jackets and jeans are from JC Penny. My wife seems to always go through there store while we are at Newpark and Eastridge Malls. I find that the clothing are great and prices reasonable - sales are even more great. My wife always look for their coupon in the mail because with it, the prices are super. Fashion changes with the season and clearance item prices are good - just have to buy quickly or it will be gone. When they had a clearance on winter clothing last spring, I got a great jacket at a great price for this coming winter - looking forward to its warmth in the winter. On this day, I find that because the store is not too busy, the merchandise is neatly displayed but I did not see too many sales people on the floor. It seems to be self-serve most of the times, which is fine with us. Overall, a good place for clothing. read more

I always feel so old shopping at a JCPenney. I don't come here for clothes, but I do however find this place really convenient when I need blankets, bedsheets, curtains, rugs, and other home-y stuff! Even though it is more expensive than places like Target or Wal-mart, I find the quality to be a lot better. Someone is always there to help you with items at their "home" department. I was just here recently and I was interested in an item which unfortunately they didn't have in store. I have to say, I've been to this mall a few times now, and reading Kris D.'s review, things are starting to make a bit more sense. The first time I came here was last summer, after moving to San Jose. I didn't know anything about the area, I just knew that a few stores I wanted to shop were all at this mall. So, great, right?! The first time, like I said, was last summer. The kids were all out of school and the mall was like a riot scene. I was mystified. Sure, kids will hang out at the mall, but everyone looked like gangs of thugs. I didn't get it; it seemed like such a nice mall, except for the gangs of kids everywhere. Pushing and shoving. It was weird. So, it's not my first choice of shopping venues. Last night, I decided to try again and while some things were the same; the place was teaming with crowds of people; some things had changed. The JCPenney was a great surprise! The store was well stocked and I was able to find everything I wanted to try on. The fitting rooms were clean and updated. And the Sephora was a great addition! The mall in general just seemed nicer. but still, lots of kids who were generally accompanied by adults who had worse manners. I was standing in line to purchase something and this big family of girls came through, talking loudly to each other and totally surrounded me. There wasn't anyone else in line and I wasn't really sure why they chose to walk into me or even that close. I mean, I was hit by purses and everything! There were open areas all around me, so like I said, I'm not sure. But they pushed their way through and left me alone after that. Not the store's fault, but still a little weird. Overall, I'm happy with this store and I'll be back. Maybe earlier in the daytime when the kids should all be in school, but we'll see. read more

My 9 year old grows like a weed. Seriously- six months ago we wore the same size shoe, and now her foot has morphed into a women's size 9. The girl is TALL! It makes no sense to spend $$$$ on clothes and shoes that she will grow out of in two months. That's why I love this JC Penney. They have a lot of great stuff for her in the juniors department, and tons of cute (cheap) accessories in the jewelery department with a lot of clearance items to choose from. Haven't been in a JCP since I was a teenager. Got a gift certificate so went in today to spend it. The store was clean and well lit. It had a good feel to it, like it's being monitored and kept up to date. I like that they are staying on trend with styles and keeping it classy. The employees were very helpful and nice. Prices were what you'd expect at a department store. My complaints would be that finding the men's fitting room was a little challenging (it was hidden in a corner), and that the departments are a little too crammed with products (like at other department stores). I've always felt that putting out a few less things on the floor/racks would make for a more relaxed shopping experience. I saw a few cute dresses and some styling' men's shirts that I didn't get, so I might have to make a return trip. read more

I am one to admit that I was never a fan of JCP. It was always dark, dirty, unorganized, and never had anything worth buying. That totally changed since JCP revamped its image and now the store is amazing! The Decor is modern and catchy, the clothes are now fashion forward, more variety of brands, and everything is just cleaner. I love that. Plus, there is a Sephora inside and I can use my store card! yay! hehe Which means Nars, Smashbox, and Makeup forever all for me! Plus, the people that work here are super friendly and just plain sweet. I feel no snootiness here unlike Macy's. Which has the worst service ever in Eastridge. However, the minus star is I wish there were more variety in the Kitchen Section. I would love them to have more kitchen aid products. That is just me being picky. read more

I have always loved shopping here even as a child at this Eastridge location. There are lots of shopping places mostly independent boutiques. I usually find what I'm looking for at this JCPenney. There is a large collection of sports apparel for men and women just a heads up the women's sports apparel is in the men's section on the second floor in the back. You will find a section for her. I suggest coming here during the day time when you have more hours to shop and look around. Parking is plentiful. You are close to the food truck event on the weekends as well. read more
