Y'all really need to help Penney's...they're such a staple for housewares, I'd hate to see them leave. Equally, JCP needs to help themselves. Their clothes just really ain't hitting on anything. And they have improved over the years! But the plus size section in this store seems to have gotten smaller since the last time I shopped there (almost a year ago). They had some cute costume jewelry but I wasn't in the mood. Think I'm moving away from "cheap" jewelry. I was approached by a lady in fine jewelry and we chatted about lab grown diamonds. She says every store is carrying a lot of them. I have to think about that...those prices don't give lab grown or maybe they do (in general, not just JCP). Alright. Black Friday sales but not crowded at all since Black Friday has apparently changed to a week long event these days. We were at Nordstrom Rack and my dad refused to buy a suit for $200 saying he didn't want to pay more than $100. We laughed at him but ya know what? I have gone to JC Pennys for year over my life and always have a good experience no matter the location . The only reason I went to this location is that I recently moved and this was the closest. I order some pants online and of course they didn't fit and I needed to return them. The online return station is downstairs in home goods by the escalator The staff is very friendly and helpful and I was in and out in under 10 mins from the time I parked and walked inside. Keep in mind this mall (woodlands mall) is always busy and worse now due to Xmas season so I suggest you go to the backside of JC Pennys to park when I arrived the front was packed and everyone was trying to find a spot. The only reason that Synchrony Bank declined the request was because my name was spelled wrong. When I stopped coming here, you could say that the Penney finally dropped. It's a typical massive department store with high prices but once in awhile you can find a really good deal or a really good product here. Some people swear by these things but these days with the advent of the internet and bargain-hunting, JCPenney becomes almost obsolete. Yet they still do well in a relative sense. A sales associate in the Jewelry department stole my Michael Kors watch costing $350. It was a very unique style (large silver band, silver large face with zebra designed black and diamond studded face. I took it in to have a battery replaced and never seen it again. She knowingly took the watch without telling me that JC Penney only repair the brand they sell. After speaking with store manager, I was referred to AIG. After giving her the time and dates I was there, receipt numbers, etc. I received nothing, case closed. I believe some one has seen that watch and knows who has it. This has happened to me before with a chain after being repaired the sales associate couldn't find it. I'm hurt and very disappointed in the staff and management. As long as you are not visiting during peak hours this place is great. Ample parking- including multiple lots for the JCPenneys and multiple entrances to different departments. There are lots of employees in each department who are available to assist. The dressing rooms are also self service which makes me feel less anxious about deciding on clothes. Ask for assistance with watches early this morning on Black Friday, and the sales lady was unbelievably rude. She had to go scan the watch for a price. When she returned she had put it away and was walking off before we could even decide if we wanted it or not. When we tried to ask any questions, she snapped at us. Decided to find it elsewhere. Every time I come to this location I get followed around as if I'm always stealing something. I've complained about this to management before and they didn't do anything really. always is an amazing shopping experience when every single employee is watching you and calling over intercom to be watched with codes. I've worked as a supervisor for 5 years in retail so I'm not stupid. Don't understand why it's only this location I get treated like this. Shopping with my friend like every other person in the store. We weren't loud. We weren't disrespectful to product or the store as a whole. Being followed almost out of the store I turned around and stared as three employees watched us walk out. Kinda ridiculous that I was looking at display shoes and this happens. I had a cross body purse on? What am I gonna even fit in that if I EVEN WAS gonna steal (which I wouldn't I have my money). Terrible service . Was attempting to buy an item that was marked down only to be told that it was not coming up on sale in the computer system. The item was in view of the cashier and was able to be seen under the sale sign right above it. I was told to find the item that was actually on sale in order to make the purchase. All this after standing in line with a new infant that began crying. I didn't have time to figure it out so I left. A little help in figuring out the problem would have gone a long way. I would have been more than happy to be assisted with the situation. The store is also a mess and my stroller got stuck on items that were strewn in the walkways. There are plenty of other stores in the mall that I'll be happy to shop at that are cleaner and have more helpful employees. read more

Worst customer service ever. I was made to go back to the store over and over again for a return that they messed up. After my second trip to the store, the store manager, Melissa gave me her number and told me that if I dont see my refund posted to my credit card in a week, I should call her and she will do it for me over the phone. Guess what? the refund did not post, I called her and I was told to come back to the store! Ridiculous. I went back to the store and she laughed it off with a "sorry." I'm never shopping here again. I have been shopping at this store for years. The main thing I like about it is they carry a lot of basic items as well as trendy fashions. Sometimes a person needs something basic like a pair of khaki pants. JC Penney's used to have a wonderful bedding department they carried some of the best sheets I've ever found however they have really lowered the quality of bedding over the years. I pay with cash , I have a JCPenney credit card but I don't like to charge things. I know it's a corporate policy but I am often told I could save more money by using my Penneys credit card, if I don't want to carry a balance I can just turn around and pay off my card in another transaction. I hate this; why is it that stores want to punish their customers for paying cash?? I don't need a second job to do just give me the best price and I will pay you right then. Anyway it is a good store, although understaffed but I usually always fine merchandise I like and for a very good price. read more

Terrible customer service!! I was first in line at a register, and the cashier walked off to help someone else after he finished his conversation with another cashier (eventhough I had been standing there). Then he takes forever with the other person, so I go to a different register where I stood for another 15 minutes until I eventually left without my purchases. Won't be going back to this location. read more
