They repaired a radiator on our car for $950. The car had the same issue a week later, overheating, and died on the roadside. They then stated both head gaskets needed to be replaced and quoted us $6000. I called our mechanic in Conifer, and they would have only charged us $400 for radiator repair and $2000 to replace head gaskets. Pro Auto Care is what gives auto shops a bad name by overcharging their customers. I highly recommend Clarkson Automotive in Conifer. I realize it's a drive, but worth the distance. They are honest and ethical.

It was literally the day I picked it up when the new struts were placed on it. Within that week I had to bring it back for an alignment. Your staff tried telling me "it's just the roads". The other shop you mention was bmw dealership who tried to fix the issue that was caused by this installation. They diagnosed car with new right strut being bent. You said you would replace it and I asked about replacing strut mount at same time. You did not replace the strut and then I brought it back later to have strut mount replaced. You did both at same time! I stated I would pay for the strut mount as it was also recommended by dealership asterisk causing issue since the strut mounts were not replaced in the beginning which is recommended when replacing struts but you decided not to for some reason. Your timeline of events is off Vlad. I immediately complained about the issues with installation and just about every week for months called to see when I could get car in to have it looked at. I offered multiple times to see if anything else needed replaced at my cost. At no time did you tell me that replacing all of the struts and shocks back to oem was at no cost to me. In fact you told me it would be an expense you didn't want to deal with and I responded didn't want to spend additional few thousand dollars to do that. I asked you several times to look at everything and see what the possible issue is, you would not do this, and your response to me is "you tell me what you want me to do"! I mean really? You are supposed to be the bmw expert and you're asking me what to do? I even said multiple times if you think it is the aftermarket control arms then please quote me to replace and let's see if that solves the problem. To this date I still have no quote from you. But here we are 6 months later and I have brought this car to you several times to allow you to fix this properly and you still can't. A couple of weeks later, McDonald VW completed some recall work on the car and reported that the transmission was leaking. They recommended that XYZ be done to the car. I quickly called Platinum Auto, and Trent immediately offered to have me bring the car back in so they could put it back on the lift and inspect it. I brought the car in, and they immediately put it on the lift for inspection. They quickly alleviated my concerns when they told me the transmission wasn't leaking at all. Trent even took the time to watch the video McDonald sent me and almost laughed at what they were trying to claim was a transmission leak. I will certainly continue to come back.

When I declined the extensive repairs, there was no discussion of smaller, interim solutions or things I could try myself; the only suggestion was financing the full amount. The immediate next step was being asked to retrieve my vehicle. The shop was extremely busy, and I left with the impression that they prioritize large, high-cost jobs. Disappointed with the experience and lack of flexible solutions, I will not be returning. Update to my previous review: It's been two weeks since I picked up my vehicle, and I have not observed any oil on my driveway. This seems inconsistent with what I was told about the severity of the oil leak issue during my visit. I have checked the oil level multiple times and it appears to remain at the same level. After posting my initial review, I received several phone calls from the shop owner requesting that I modify my review. I eventually asked that these calls stop. Service details: I paid $180 for initial diagnostics, during which I was told there was an 80% probability that the problem was my battery cables. I then paid $235.19 for new battery cables, but it did not resolve the issue. A subsequent diagnosis costing $359.98 identified a bad ground wire, which was then repaired by tapping in a new wire. Additional observations from my service experience: When I collected my vehicle, I noticed what appeared to be a black, grease-like substance on the exterior door handle that was not present when I dropped it off. I also discovered that the front emblem was no longer attached to my vehicle. When I inquired about this inside the shop, staff located the emblem and handed it to me and told me it fell off when they closed the hood. I check my fluids every month, this has never happened to me. There was no offer to repair the damage.
