Only one staff member was working during my visit, and there was a mix-up with my order. Luckily, I was still in the parking lot when another customer came out to let me know, so I was able to get it sorted. For the meal, I picked beef brisket (you get 3oz of meat and can also choose sausage, turkey, chicken wings, or nuggets) and a side. I chose mashed potatoes. They weigh the meat before reheating it. Next time, I'd ask for the BBQ sauce on the side since it was a bit too drenched, and while it had good flavor, the brisket felt dry in parts and not quite as tender as I hoped. The mashed potatoes had bits of skin, which gave a nice texture, but they really needed gravy to round them out (additional cost for 1.99). The bread roll stood out. It was very soft, fresh, and worked great for turning the brisket into a mini sandwich. For the drink, I went with a soft drink instead of the "lil yellow cup" option. The portion was small, but it is after all advertised as a kid's meal and less of a commitment compared to all their other menu items. It's a good choice if you want a lighter meal or just want to sample the BBQ. They also offer daily deals, which change throughout the week and is only available for a limited time (it is not mentioned how long this is for): Monday: Brisket Mac & Cheese $12.99 Tuesday: BOGO 50% any Sandwich Wednesday: 10% off Wings Thursday: Brisket Poutine $12.99 Friday: 15% off Westerner or Pit Dip Sandwich Saturday/Sunday: Kids' Meals for $7.99 I'm interested in trying other menu items and their daily specials. I'm just hoping the brisket is more tender/juicy next time!

When I arrived on a Sat 19:00, it was totally closed, with noting in their drink fridge, etc. Upon checking Google, the last reviews were 3 months ago. It seems the reviews 3 to 7 months ago were 1-star, some complaining about the food and some complaining about being charge way more than the advertised prices! So unfortunately it looks like this location is permanently closed. Review 2026-131

The staff was genuinely warm, attentive, and made the entire experience feel special from start to finish. The food absolutely lived up to the ambiance. The chicken parm was outstanding, and the ricotta with wild honey is a must-order. Don't leave without trying the mushroom fettuccine either--it was phenomenal. If you're celebrating a birthday, anniversary, date night, or any special occasion, I highly recommend Public Gardens. It's the kind of place that creates memorable experiences, and I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Toronto.

Food items are pretty standard bar food, with some hit or misses! Public caesar 4/5 - Loved this before and it's still great a year later! Well dressed and tasty. Fried calamari 3.5/5 - It's good but nothing special. Came with marinara sauce - good for sharing. Pepperoni pizza 5/5 - My favourite on their menu here for sure. Ask for a side of hot honey! Ciao bella rigatoni 3.5/5 - Looks better than it tastes. It's okay. It's cherry tomato, basil, parm, garlic. Your standard vodka pasta. Sausage sugo bianco 2.5/5 - My least favourite item from Public Gardens. It's kind of bland and just okay in taste. Overall, great vibes, standard bar food but still has a hold in my heart for some reason!

Everything was a bit bland, and most of the food was a bit harder than I expected. I got the stuffed chicken breast with 3 sides. I guess you get what you pay for here unfortunately. Decent portion for what you pay for, but that's really the only redeeming quality here.

Happened to walk into this interesting food court, The Grange. Among various different food stands…read morein this food court, I was most impressed by the longest line-up of Helena's Magic Kitchen. In spite of its long line-up, the serving speed was fast and efficient. Menu is simple. Food is appetisingly visible. Thus easy to order. I quickly searched their popular items with my phone, and decided that I should try Sheppard's pie. But it sold out just in front of me.... it was still 12:30! Oh NO! Now I had to choose alternate main dish very quickly, and this Stuffed Chicken Breast caught my eye... and ordered. I made it Combo of $10.75 (one main, one warm side, two cold sides). As a side, I initially wanted pierogies (which also has a good reputation) as a warm side dish, but I accidentally chose potato pancake which irresistibly looked so good (with sour cream) today, which made me ineligible for getting pierogies. Next time! For the two cold sides, I chose potato salad and barley salad. The spinach stuffed chicken breast was very impressive and I loved it! The round football shape and the size was 1.5 x my fist. The spinach stuffing inside was plenty, flavourful and super savoury, but not greasy. It was wrapped by thin, yet juicy tender chicken breast. Ask for mushroom gravy for this, as the flavor perfects it. The potato pancake was thick, super crispy outside, and tender & chewy inside. Juicy. Cooked/tasted fresh. Although it is a bit greasy side, I thought I can come back to buy this one alone - as it is filling and addictive. The two cold sides were good, not outstanding but good companion for the heavier main. Next time, I want to come earlier to try Sheppard's pie. Also want to try their pierogies - I could not order it today as I was so attracted by the potato pancake, which disqualified me from adding it in today's lunch combo lol. $10.75 combo with this quality and volume is blessing! Thus star 5.
