This place is great. They just opened at this location and after walking through the doors you can really tell. Everything is so new and clean. The staff are very friendly and eager to please. I loved how there were so many flat screen TVs hung all over the walls playing sport channels. I can easily see myself watching a game and enjoying a meal here. I have never been to a JCWs before so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they serve Halibut Fish and chips. My friend made sure to order that along with a small malt pineapple shake. I had a ribeye steak sandwich and a small Oreo shake. The prices were reasonable but a little on the pricer side if you are comparing with other fast food places. Totally worth it. The shakes were HUGE! I had a hard time just finishing my small off. They do offer a mini size shake. I can only imagine what that would look like. A small shake was larger than a large shake from any other place. You have been warned. The halibut fish and chips was pretty good. The fish was golden brown and crispy on the outside and cooked just right on the inside. The ribeye steak sandwich was delicious. The steak was well seasoned and very tender. I was afraid that they were going to over cook the steak but they nailed it. Perfectly moist, it just melts in your mouth. Ever since accepting a job in a nearby office building to JCW's, I've enjoyed going through the drive-thru and trying the burgers and other offerings of this burger joint. Depending on the time of day, though, the drive-thru gets backed up and it's not super convenient when you have a very strict in and out time for lunch. Luckily for me today, however, everything went pretty smooth. Or so I thought. The portions here are ridiculously overkill (I'm only getting kiddie burgers from now on. The chicken tenders are insanely huge and a four-piece can feed one person for three meals); I can never finish an order of fries, and a regular-size burger is pushing the limits for my appetite. I decided to go with a coworker's recommendation of ordering a kid-size burger meal. Despite downsizing the volume of food, it's still kind of price for that meal, working out to about $7. I've noticed with their drive-thru attendants that one person will start an order and then another person will jump on to complete it, and this kind of concerns me for accuracy's sake. Also, there is no board for me to view what they've keyed in so I know if they are going to apply the special requests I've made. Today, around 12:30 p.m., I ordered a kid-size burger meal with bacon and blue cheese with no tomato. I was disappointed when I got back to my office, with only about twelve minutes remaining for lunch so no time to get my order corrected, that I was given regular American cheese instead of blue cheese. The order slip was correct on the bag and also on the receipt, so someone messed up back in the kitchen. I'm sorry, but if I cannot trust that my orders will be accurate when I go here, I simply can't waste my time and worry about being disappointed without the option to get it corrected. I'm only allotted thirty minutes for lunch, which is barely enough time to wait in the drive-thru and then get back to my office in time to clock back in to work. My advice? Confirm the order with the person in the drive-thru, AND make sure you are checking in the kitchen for accuracy to that order. Neither was done today for me, and it made for a poor customer experience. Food here is pricey, and for what I'm paying I should receive what I actually order. Just opened up down the road so my husband and I decided to give it a try, and we were quite impressed. The restaurant was really clean and felt warm and welcoming. The service was really nice, if a bit slow for only one other customer being there at the time. If you are looking for a good quality burger this is the place for you. The meat is super fresh and tons of different topping options. We tried the bacon blue cheese burger and it was great. I also had a chicken strip and fry basket. I got their mild spicy dipping sauce, which is a combination of Frank's red hot sauce and a honey glaze, and man oh man was it good. That paired with their fresh ranch made for chicken dipping heaven. The fries were decently good and cooked fresh. This place is a little on the expensive side for just a burger and fry shop, but it is quite delicious! read more

I never heard of this place until a coworker and his family took me here earlier this week. Place was packed. Service was very good. I like the idea that you order your food at the counter and then they bring it to your table. I like the condiment table, which has an assortment of hot sauces, mustard, vinegar, your fry sauce and such. I ordered the halibut and fries, and from the first bite I was sold. Not every place can cook some fish. I also tried the Jr bacon cheese burger, which was fresh, crisp lettuce, tomatoes and onions. Bacon was cooked crispy and the cheese was melted all the way (just the way I like it). The surprise of the night was the Grasshopper ice cream cup. The ice cream was so good and minty; with the Oreo cookies added the perfect touches. Make sure you get a small or medium, as the large is humongous. I think they come in a 32 oz cup. This place qualifies as the worst burger joint we've tried here or anywhere else. The staff was meh, no one seemed happy to be there. It took a long time to greet us even though there were scads of employees behind the counter. The food itself wasn't awesome. A basic, nothing special burger. The place is huge, and there weren't many people there for a Friday night at dinner time. We now know why! Took us a LONG time to receive our food. About 20 minutes after we placed our order, my husband went to the counter to inquire. He was met with grimaces from the multiple employees behind the counter who were just standing around with seemingly nothing to do. I normally really love JCW's, but I went through the drive thru yesterday (04/16/2019) at 7:45 pm. By the time I got home to Salt Lake City (20 minute drive), and unpacked our order, not only did they short us an order of fries which we were charged $2.89 for, but my All American Burger was raw on the inside! I would think they would be better about making sure orders in the drive thru would be done correctly, because we weren't about to drive twenty minutes back to the restaurant to complain. read more

We usually really like this place, but the last couple of times we've eaten here the burgers have been overdone, today included. The toppings are generous and fresh which improves the taste a little. The fries are pretty good, and their shakes are excellent. If they cooked the burgers for a shorter amount of time I would have given 5 stars. My kids couldn't finish their cheese burgers because they were too dry. A nice char on the outside is great, but not when it saps the meat of all its juices. Honestly this place is sub-par on just about every level, and I can't think of a single reason why I would recommend it. This is a great example of a restaurant that has been poorly planned and executed...there are way too many menu items that really don't belong, and most of them are poorly prepared. I've been a couple of times, because I wanted to give it a fair shot. Unfortunately, it's just overpriced, bland The burgers are okay, but you could find a better burger ANYWHERE, even Wendy's. I was hoping for a good chargrilled taste, but it was just dry and underwhelming. I didn't even finish it, and my wife and daughter felt the same. The onion rings were soggy, and the onion slice inside was too thick and crunchy, so they were very unpleasant. Some of the worst "restaurant" onion rings I've had. The wings were skimpy and the sauce wasn't even traditional buffalo sauce...it was more of a gross oily buffalo flavored glaze that should be illegal. They tasted cheap and poorly prepared, and the "sauce" was absolutely terrible. Not even remotely close to anything I would call buffalo sauce. I know this seems like mindless complaining, but I just can't figure out what the owners were thinking when creating this franchise. It's a jumbled mess, and nothing really stands out as excellent. My som came to visit this last weekend, we went to JCW's for dinner that night and ate nothing else. We soon both became violently ill, and it lasted for 48 hours. That much vomit comes up causes sore throats and headaches, aside from serious stomach cramps. When I called to let them know, I was offered a gift card, like I would ever eat there again... I've been curious about this spot for a while, not really impressed. The price verse quality is the big reason for the low star review. Staff was nice and knowledgeable and the place seems well kept but the food was lack luster. I ordered a bacon avocado Swiss burger and the avocado was not good. Some quality checks need to happen. The burger itself was ok and the bacon was good. Then there were the fries. Maybe I got a bad batch but they just tasted old, maybe the grease needs changing. But there was something peculiar about them. I might give them a shot again in the future, and adjust the review accordingly but for now I won't make a special trip for the food. read more

The worst. There was nobody inside the restaurant, we went through the drive thru (with no cars in front of us) ordered 3 kids meals and a hamburger. Pulled up to the window, They handed us 3 juices for the kids meals. We then sat for 18min until they handed us a bag of food and told us to have a good day. The bag had 2 sandwiches and a large fry in it (none of which we ordered) we parked and went inside to give it back to them and get the food we ordered, and they tried to tell me that we never placed an order. We were literally the only car in the drive thru for the first 10min.... so we had to sit for another 15min while they made us our original order. I've been here a few times. It really good but the burgers are a little too overwhelming with the "char broil" taste. Tastes like the grill has not been cleaned. For this reason I usually get a Jr. burger or a chicken choice of some type. The fingers are awesome and the cheese fries are good. There is something about the fries...they seem to be a bit bland. I've only ever been through their drive-through, but dang was I pleased! Even my son, who can tend to be on the picky side when it comes to his burgers, never complains when we eat here. Currently, my favorite is their pastrami burger. I love the flavor that they manage to pack into their burgers... that slightly charred flavor that you get when you cook your own burgers at home over a charcoal grill, yeah... that flavor. I finally got to try JCW's and I probably expected too much. The assistance behind the counter (I won't say his name) but I think a rock has better personality. I would have ordered more but they way he started off with my order I decided to limit my order and bite my tongue. The burger was 'ok' I didn't like how the bun fell apart. My friend ordered a gyros sandwich that was a bit anemic on the meat side and a couple strands of onion when he ordered heavy onion. We laughed about what a regular amount of onion might be. I was a little disappointed especially after a coworker bragged about how good JCWs is. That said, he loved here a lot longer than me so maybe he has lower expectations. A great burger spot which is a mini spin on a FIVE GUYS. A little pricey for a regular burger joint but you definitely get your portions worth. Place is clean, workers are friendly, and for the most part they get your food out in a timely matter. My first experiences with JCW's have been at the flagship Lehi location on the way to visit in-laws in Price. It was always the best part of the trip :). Straight up. I've never been disappointed by their bacon cheeseburger combo, the only thing I've ever ordered. I've always been vocal about my fandom. I finally made to the South Valley location and my staple meal was fully satisfying. Excellent beef flavor, great toppings, pleasant bun, and piping hot, crispy fries. I love the unlimited condiment bar. Excellent meal all the way around (pic). The Yelp complaints about this place are virtually all about the drive-thru experiences. The truth is, JCW's is too good to even have a drive -thru. They actually cook your burger fresh. So, by the time a drive-thru patron gets home, they lose half the flavor, all the heat, as well as the overall allure of the place. Get your ass out of the car and get inside, wait ten minutes, quit whining, and you will be rewarded with a solid, kick ass burger and fries. read more

I give it two stars because the food is dang good but the staff here needs to be set at higher expectations. I ordered tonight at 7:13 and just left with me food at 7:41. I don't care if it's going to take a good amount of time to cook the food, that's fine. But the amount of customer service I received at this outing was close to 0%. Four cars that came in line behind us got their food prior to ours. I also understand that their food might have been more accessible than ours. Maybe ours takes longer to prepare (3 piece chicken finger platter) or something but what I'm so upset about it how much we were uninformed. Tell us it's going to be a little bit of a wait, apologize, reset my mental time clock. Wow. If I could give zero stars then I would. My boyfriend and I ate here a few nights ago and I must say, that was one of the worst experiences we've ever had. We understand that it's a fast food joint and it was new years eve. But still... it was bad. It took 20-25 minutes to get our food - and no one else was ahead of us in line. We counted at least 12 people working back behind the counter - mostly teenagers - and they were all standing around doing nothing but talking. Looked extremely unprofessional. They finally brought us our food and the cheese fries were burnt to a CRISP. My boyfriend brought them back to the counter and asked for some that were not burned and they looked at him like he was stupid. He came back to the table and picked up his burger to eat it and the burger was cold and old like it had been sitting out for a while. He went back up and asked for a warm burger and again, the 12 teenagers looked at him and acted like he was speaking a different language. FINALLY a nice man (we later found out his name is Luis) came over to find out what was going on and he was so kind. He apologized and took the cold burger to get us a new one. As we were waiting for the rest of our food to come, we saw the teenagers talking about us, very obviously, behind the counter. Some of the most poor customer service, besides Luis. Personally, I like JCW's. Especially with friends. The fries are awesome, the shakes are way too big for me to eat all of (which is very impressive, because even though I am 135 lbs of skin and bones, I overeat and end up devouring almost anything that I touch). Which is great. I also think this is a great location. It was super convenient for me as I had to get onto the South Jordan frontrunner 45 minutes after entering the restaurant. My food came quickly, and it was an enjoyable experience. The veggie burger was alright; I have eaten it plenty of times before and it tastes good, I just wish there was something exciting that could be added to it. Avocado, kale, fried onions, etc.... something either really healthy, fresh, and makes my stomach happy or something nasty for me but delicious. I also didn't know that mustard was going to be on it, but I like mustard so it was fine. The burger isn't special for a veggie burger, but honestly, it is better than the bun and cheese "veggie burger" that In-N-Out, so I am happy, enough. I like JCW's though, as a local restaurant chain, and their shakes and fries are great. They are also one of the few places in Utah open past 10 PM, which makes it a hot spot for socializing. At times it can get really crowded, but nothing out of the ordinary. They can be pricey in comparison to some burger joints, but it isn't bad. The meaty burgers are tasty, and they have so many combo options that I'm sure something will fit your needs. This location is so incredibly slow. I waited for over 25 min behind two cars and when i got to the window my order had not even been started. All I ordered was a garden salad. I did not feel like waiting any longer as they did not look like they were in any hurry so I just left. Will not be going back.
