Went in for lunch. When our waitress brought out our silverware wrapped in a napkin, we unrolled it and the fork had enough food left from the last patron that it was sticking to the napkin. Pretty gross . Ok things happen. My husband asked for a spoon, she brought out a spoon , that she could see, and when she handed it to my husband we looked at it and wouldn't you know it also had food stuck to it. We stopped eating at that point. During COVID times one would think you would practice extra precautions. "The manager" bounced out about 5 minutes later to take a small portion off our bill and give us a free entree for our next visit that expires in 3 months . No thanks, we won't be back. Wife had fish and chips and the fish was good. Crab cakes were great. Chicken tenders I would not get again. My reason for 2 stars is place is just dirty. The glass doors and entrance windows are flithy. Our table was flithy. And all time gross out was table condiments like ketchup, mustard and Tabasco all grimy from other dinners before us handing and bottles not being cleaned. And this was the case for all tables near us you can see how grimy the tables and condiments were. Advice is close place down for a day clean top to bottoms and retrain the staff to concepts "clean as you go" and what "side work " means. read more

Here Memorial Day. Very small crowd but the service was horrible. Stopped in the catch a quick lunch and two hours later we are still waiting for our check to arrive. Flounder sandwich was horrible. Wife asked for her burger pink in the middle or medium and it came charred and overdone. Crab deviled eggs were super and the only thing good. read more

Lousy, chicken on my girlfriends salad was tough like they previously grilled it and reheated it in the microwave. We sent the chicken back & got attitude from our waitress. The bill comes & were charged for the lousy microwave chicken.. we Asked her why we're being charged & received more attitude in return " well didn't you eat most of it?!" Disappointing. We always stop here on our way into Lewis and order mozzarella sticks (easy to snack on in the car.) Over the years they've changed them but this time we're officially done. A waste of our money. 4 small, sad mozzarella sticks in a box for $8!!!! Either give me more mozzarella sticks for that price or make them better quality like they used to be. read more

Nice place. I had the fish and chips with macaroni and green beans. And an appetizer of cheese sticks. The fish was fresh and flaky, with a flavorful batter coating. The Mac & Cheese is a must have. So we just left after trying it for the first time since moving here a few months ago. The place was not terribly busy and we were seated right away. Page was pleasant, took our order for two burgers medium and the wait began. We waited over half an hour for two burgers. When they came out, they were WAY overcooked, dry and the fries looked like they were under a heat lamp for hours. Page asked how everything was and we showed her the burgers. She asked if we wanted to have another order made and since we waited so long, we politely said no. In defense of the place, the manager came out, apologized and said they had two people call out and a group of 30 who came in overwhelmed the kitchen. We can appreciate things like this and we understood, but it didn't make the meal any better. The manager said he would talk to Page our server. We thought perhaps something would be done with the bill for two half eaten and dry burgers but were surprised when the bill came and it was for the entire amount. Seriously? We were understanding and polite. We were about to give this place a second try in the future, but the experience left a bad taste in our mouths. And so did the overcooked dry burgers and fries. read more

Received a substandard cut of flounder battered in something that tasted like sand and then burnt to a crisp. The sides obviously came right out of a can from the grocery store. Terrible service sat on bar side. Half the tables were dirty when we came in so we had to sit at a dirty table the rest of the tables were still dirty when we left. Had to get up and get our own silverware and napkins. We had to call out and wave at staff to wait on us again to get drink refills and yet again to get check. Only 12 customers in whole restaurant and at least 15 employees running around with those odds you might think we could get some service. I took 6 people to a restaurant I love. Shuckers in Georgetown de. Danielle our waitress, finally came and took our drink order after 15 minutes. She never came back for another 15 minutes to get our dinner order. Finally another waitress came over feeling sorry for us, and made Danielle come over and take our order. All the dinners came except mine. When she came back, she noticed I did not have mine, she said it will be right out. Never came. We paid and left. I love the food, but will never be back. read more

The service was terrible. The waitress was not personable at all. The food was mediocre. Today I celebrated my 40th birthday and my wife and I, along with another couple decided to try a new restaurant. My friend and I ordered the same exact burger, the Mac Attack. We ordered it with identical toppings. He ordered his well done, I ordered mine medium. When the food runner came out, he just said "two mac attack burgers and set them down in front of us, not specifying which one was medium and which was well done. My friends burger had a substantial amount of mac n cheese on it, mine had next to none. The waitress said "let me take them back to figure out which one is which. " When the waitress brought them back out, mine looked like a train wreck! Most of the toppings were scattered all over my plate (hardly any mac n cheese still). Her response was "we had to move your toppings around to determine how it was cooked, they're all still there though." Yeah, all but the mac n cheese. I had 2 sodas during the course of my meal and I rarely order desert, but I thought, hey why not, it's my birthday. The waitress asked if that was going to be all and we said yes. I ordered one more soda before I had my desert and her response was, "can I get that for you in a to go cup"? As if to make me feel rushed through my desert I guess. If I want a to go cup, I'll ask, you as a server don't ask the customer that. Overall it was a terrible experience to celebrate my 40th. I would have gotten a better burger with better service and had a much more pleasurable experience if I went to McDonalds! read more

Wow unbelievably bad!!! The food was cold, 2 out of the 4 the us who were together there our glasses we're disgustingly dirty. After asking for clean ones the waitress did a sigh eyeroll thing. Ugh. Than when the food finally came, after waiting FOREVER and it was just terrible! My friend took 1 bite and spit out out, she sent it back and told then she didn't want even try a substitute for hers. So she just waited with all of us and all of us were also all disappointed none of us even took doggie bags, and trust me we had plenty left over. The food was almost cold, the food was just not good at all. At the end they still put her meal on the bill so we had to ask for the manager and he too was an ass the waitress only came to check on us 1time in between us ordering and bringing the lousy food and to take my friends meal back and to bring us the check there was about 10 other people in there Was no reason for everything to be so behind. it was just a bad place. I think they forget that customers are what makes a business or breaks a business. Because personality counts so much, in that type of business and they have none but smug and arrogant people working and/or owning the place I really don't see it being a success unless they make some real changes and really fast. Went to this location last night with some out of state friends to get away from the beach traffic in the coastal Sussex county area, and mediocre and overpriced restaurants that cater to the tourists here. I ordered the blackened rockfish Friday special with mashed potatoes and coleslaw as my sides with sweet tea for my drink. The size of the rockfish was about four inches square and two inches thick with a pile of red potatoes about twice that size and a cup of fresh coleslaw. The rockfish was cooked perfectly on both ends but undercooked in the middle, and when I showed the waitress it, she said it would be no problem for the kitchen to finish cooking it, and took the middle section back. Within about ten minutes I had it back, cooked perfectly. The whole meal turned out great, and at about $25 - a bargain compared to the beach area. This was my first time at this location. As for the appetizer which was a crab dip, I felt like the crabs were left out. The dip at the green turtle near five points was much better in my opinion. Others at the table got steamed shrimp which were large and done well. I think the steak was a bit over cooked, and a lesser grade of strip than we're used to seeing in many places. After mulling it over, I would suggest they add a scallops and rockfish combo with the rockfish being broiled to ensure a more evenly cooked dish. This location has potential to be great. read more

We stopped for Sunday brunch. The only option was a buffet. The food was decent, but the eggs were runny and a lot of it appeared to be left over from the day before. It was very overpriced at $16 per person. I don't see how it will ever survive in Georgetown Delaware at that price and quality. Very disappointing. We are local and have been twice, and will never be back. The first time we went I ordered fried scallops and should have definitely ordered them broiled. There was so much breading on them and it tasted exactly the same as the breading on the mozzarella sticks. ??? Not fresh at all. My son had green beans with his fish and there was so much seasoning on them he could not eat them. Loads of pepper. We waited a few months and decided to go back and give it another try. This time, the waitress was terrible and she sat down 4 different times with a table nearby that I guess she knew. We WAITED for our drinks, appetizers, and even refills and napkins. The food runners worked harder than the waitress. All of the tables around us with different servers were in and out before us. They were not busy at all. I originally wanted snow crab clusters but the waitress said with a winced face, " Well they went up to $33 and you only get 2 clusters." Um, okay, I'll order the special. This time I ordered the shrimp pasta and the amount of garlic in the pasta was overwhelming. I could not finish it. My son ordered fries with his fish and they came out cold. By the time we were leaving we just started laughing because lord knows we were just trying to have a good meal, and we know now that we will not be back. Been to this Shuckers a handful of times and had 1 good meal. Kitrchen seems to have a hard time getting their burgers done to order. My wife ordered medium rare, some pink, and got well done. While mine was just the opposite. My biggest problem with this place is the seeming lack of good management. We've had servers and runners bring us the wrong orders on a couple of occasions. They seem to be way understaffed as reflected in our Tuesday night, 6:30pm, visit. Dining room was full so hostess said we would have to wait. We asked if there was room in the bar area and she said that there were tables available. There was one table that was in the corner and blocked by a large party at an adjoining table. No problem...there was plenty of room at the bar...only 3 other people there. We sat at the bar and noticed the ONE bartender was also the server for the entire bar room. Very busy guy! Never said hello or acknowledged our presence. After 10 minutes of sitting there as invisible people, we left. This is not the case at their place on John J. Williams Hgwy., Rt. 24 in Long Neck. Great place with great people! Won't be going to the Georgetown Shuckers anytime soon. read more
