In the mood for pizza so as we are new to the area we decided to give this place a try. The first major issue I have is that they cook with Peanut Oil and you would only know that by reading the fine print. This is a major issue for me as I have a nut allergy and think it is very dangerous. Most places that cook in Peanut Oil make sure it is well stated throughout the restaurant and the menu. On to the review - the resteraunt is cute with lots of space. Both tables and booths. The service was great, very attentive and very friendly. The good news is that the pizza kitchen is separate from the rest of the kitchen so it felt safe to eat pizza. We had pizza and cheesy bread and also a burger and fries by someone at the table. The pizza had a decent amount of toppings and they were fresh, plus lots of cheese. The person eating burger and fries said it was good, not the best ever but he liked it. The price for the food was good. Would I come back, probably not but that is more about the use of peanut oil, but I would recommend giving it a try! read more

I ordered pick up at the Georgetown restaurant. I ordered a classic Reuben. While I could see the bread was grilled, maybe, it was so soggy I couldn't pick up the sandwich. Just a total soggy mess, inedible mess. I cant tell you about the flavor because I couldn't pick up the sandwich. It came with boardwalk fries and I checked the box for crispy fries. I got undercooked soggy fries. I ordered the hush puppies and they did not come coated with powdered sugar and I didn't receive the side of honey butter as advertised. I tried one plain but it was definitely overcooked and had the flavor of old fryer oil. I ordered a cheese quesadilla. That was okay. So only 1 of 4 items were acceptable. 25%. Hmmm... This place is 200 feet from the hotel I use when I travel to Georgetown. So far this year I have spent 40 days at this hotel. I will not be ordering from this place ever again. read more

I'm meeting this one in the middle with 3 stars. Now before I begin, I know I'm going to get jumped on for saying this, but we were in Delaware for a tournament and I'm a big pizza guy..... from NJ/NY area. With that said..... We got a few plain pies, a Buffalo Chicken pie and I got the Buckingham sandwich (roast beef, provolone, horseradish mayo, fried onions, lettuce and tomato) with "boardwalk style" fries. I'll begin with the sandwich. The sandwich was absolutely amazing. Roast Beef was not tough and the kick from the horseradish mayo was absolutely phenomenal. The boardwalk fries were also very good. I loved them! The pizza.... I had a slice of the plain and a slice of the Buffalo Chicken. In my personal opinion, it was too doughy and thick. Some prefer that but I'm a thin crust, well done kinda person. The sauce on the plain pie was bland. However, the Buffalo Chicken sauce was decent. It's a very nice place when you go there but perhaps during peak baseball season, quality slides a little due to demand coming in. I'm not sure. Or perhaps, this is how they make their pies. If I was back in the area for a tournament, I would skip the pizza but definitely try another sandwich. read more

Ordered carry out after arriving in town for a work meeting. Pizza king was located right behind my hotel, so it was very convenient. The twist was ginormous and enough to feed 2-3 people. Also got a side salad, which appeared to have been made much earlier in the day and was rather disappointing. The server failed to provide the salad dressing and any utensils to eat with, so it was fortunate they were located close enough that I could walk back again. Overall disappointing. read more

Four stars. Came in at 20 to 9 on a Wednesday night. They were getting ready to close but I got a take out order in under the wire. Pretty sure I ordered a Medium and got a Small, but honestly I'm not all that hungry after eating it all, so the size was enough. Pizza wasn't bad - pretty standard fare. A little too much sauce and the crust was only a couple steps above dominos, but hey, I was there and hungry - and it was good enough to eat the whole thing. So, I love the Pizza King in Seaford. Every time I travel to the area I stop by for some righteous chow. Traveling to Georgetown over the weekend I was amazed the King had opened up shop there. I was excited and couldn't wait for the my first meal. Up front, this is not your father's Pizza King. I had two disappointing meals at Pizza King. My first meal was pizza on Sunday. I ordered a small Cheeseburger Pizza. It was average at best and if you close your eyes while eating you'd think you were at a Pizza Hut. I was disappointed--thinking they had a bad day. On my way out on Monday morning I stopped for breakfast. I specifically ordered Eggs scrambled lite and toast. The waitress confirmed my order twice. A few minutes later the waitress came back and said they were out of White bread. They brought my eggs scrambled hard--think rubber and nasty, with stale Wheat bread. It was a pathetic example of being 30 minutes away and carrying no standards. The bottom line is this. This place is a failure and you would be better off at McDonalds. One-Star disappointment. We love PK Pizza restaurants, however this one is truly a black mark on the brand. While the food is uniform in each place and I have no complaints GEORGETOWN is filthy! The carpets are nasty and the tables are streaky from using a dirty rag(?) and our table was sticky! The cook was a young man who was always smiling, but his long hair was not protected from falling into my food! Crap carry out experience. Just look at the picture of our "buffalo chicken cheesesteak" - it pretty much sums everything up. In the picture, the cheesesteak is completely unaltered, right after taking it out of the bag. Limp and hardly filled with anything!!! My calzone pizza twist was supposed to come with a side of sauce but, it didn't. Thankfully I had a tiny bit of pasta sauce in my fridge to use but that ain't what I paid for. Interesting experience on the first Saturday afternoon this month. A friend and I arrived to lunch with other friends who were running late to meet us. We spoke with the hostess at the door who asked us to wait while she checked available tables. She returned to us and said that ours was the booth with the extra table added. My friend and I waited to be led back to the table. Instead the hostess handed each of us a menu and proceeded to point back behind herself at the corner of the restaurant, motioning to us to go towards where the set up was. We took a walk unescorted back to the table, sat for a moment but were not feeling the hospitality. We got back in the car and drove to the next pizza spot. read more

I have ordered take out a couple times in the past and my order was always wrong. I decided after avoiding them for some time to try again. Unfortunately they have failed miserably once again! My order was completely wrong and I did not order anything special. I will not be returning, which is very unfortunate since they are conveniently located near my workplace. Went in to pick up dinner called my order in at 6:14pm and they told me it would be 15 min. When i got there i told them i was there to pick up and order and they said ok. 30 min later i was asked if i was waiting for an order my order was still not done after they brought my order out i asked for the name or number for someone to speak to they said the manager was available when i talked to her she gave me an attitude and said its friday its to be expected when i got back to my job i realized my food was cold and soggy and they food was not done i am disgusted this is not just the first time they have done this. read more

I'll start by first saying I have spent a LOT of money at PK over the years, at their Georgetown and Laurel locations. (This review will now remain after talking to the owner 'Brad' today 2/26/20) - Blames customers for their mishaps and issues. Asked for my number and called me directly and then blasted me for my honest review of his business on Social Media. Stay away from Pizza King. Brad (owner) is a seriously rude bigot, not once ever offering to correct anything. If you plan to use online ordering, DON'T. They don't know how to effectively run the online system. ** Georgetown Location ** The wait staff at this location are great, friendly and courteous. However the kitchen has become terrible. They don't pay attention to customized orders. Example (no lettuce, or no condiments) and many times, ESPECIALLY for carryout, this gets completely ignored. The quality of the cooking at the Georgetown location has started to fail miserably. Under cooked boardwalk fries, also to mention that recently the fries have been discolored as if they are using rotten potatoes. This isn't your normal 'discoloration', I am talking black and gray potato all the way through most of the fries. The sandwiches are assembled as if a child threw it together. Their wait staff always yelling back to the kitchen on things the cooks have missed or have done wrong. They are charging way too much for putting out the quality of food that they do. I no longer recommend the Georgetown location. I had a few complaints in the past and reached out to PK via Messenger. My last/recent complaint got completely ignored by PK administration. ** Laurel Location ** The food at this location is better, there is some attention to detail when orders are placed, but again, they've missed things in a few of our orders which were carry-out. The biggest issue at this location is not the kitchen, but the counter staff. They have gone through a few employees over the years, but I think PK's training at this location promotes employees to be rude. I have multiple instances of very rude counter staff at Laurel. They talk and treat you as if you're wasting their time. Ask for condiments, you get nasty eye-rolls, you're placing an order, they stop you in the middle of placing your order to answer the phone, they look completely disgusted that they have to take the phone order. Then they return to taking your order, even ruder then they started out. Many of the counter employees here have major attitude problems, not someone I'd want working in my business at all. Lastly, this holds true for both locations, the cell phones..... Whether its wait staff, counter staff, or kitchen staff, its super obvious and most are always on their cell phones. There have been times that I have waited at the counter to pick up my order, and counter staff are exchanging looks on their cell phones with other employees, laughing and carrying on, completely oblivious to customers standing 10 feet away from them. I actually walked out the Georgetown location once because of this, just leaving my order behind and taking the loss because I was so disgusted with the level of service. That is my experience with those two locations of Pizza King. My family and I have spent a lot of money over the past few years with PK, but after the continual experiences above, we won't be back. And honestly, though communications with PK, they don't care. read more

Stopped coming here last year. Servers are getting younger and younger and provide sub-standard service but expects high tips. If you order for pick up, CHECK it before leaving. I was really in the mood for lemon pepper wings and when I called a lovely girl answered the phone, she said they "didn't have that dry rub but when people ask for LP seasoning she refers them to their KeyWest wings", I was a little disappointed cause I have an unhealthy addiction to LP seasoning but also was just in the mood for wings. I have spent a great deal of money at this location. It is near my house and is often a default option. I have eaten here for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The breakfast is probably my favorite option. They have a fair amount of choices including omelettes and several platter options. The pancakes are good. However it always seems rushed and their always seems like tables don't get cleaned quickly. This is a pizza/ sandwich joint so for the most part the lunches are simple sandwiches or subs. Typical fare for this style. There is nothing fancy here. Again, the restaurant often seems a little disheveled, either tables need busing or there are a lot of teenagers in there. This place has a very young staff and they are often doing teenager things. The staff is mostly very pleasant but they are not trained well and it shows. If you are expecting attention to every detail you will not get it here. If you want a pizza and a sandwich and you understand that this place is the default go to for many local high school students, baseball teams you are fine. Also be aware that it is right next to two hotels, so sometimes they show up with large parties of family groups. Additionally, be aware that it is usually cold in this restaurant. The ductworks diffusers are directed so that they discharge air directly on the wall booths and this air bounces off in such a way that almost all the booths are unusually chilly. In the winter, do not sit at or near the front door, the air balance forces extremely cold air in to the first two booths on the left and the first two on the right of the door. I don't get take out often so I can't speak to it. I know what I'm getting when I go there so I think my tolerance for small mistakes is probably tempered by that. I know some of the wait staff so this softens my criticism a bit. Overall this is a pizza joint largely staffed by teenagers, with a customer base of teenagers and tourists who seem to be largely visiting for baseball tournaments. The food is decent, nothing remarkable. They stay in their lane. read more

Took my son to pizza king today for a quick lunch. We stood at the door for a couple minutes while servers looked at us and kept walking. I looked around at the host stand and saw a tiny sign behind it that said "seat yourself". Ok. My bad for missing it. As we walked to find a booth, I heard somebody comment that the restaurant was disgusting. I thought that was kind of rude until I sat down. I thought the table just LOOKED dirty until I put my arm in BBQ sauce. Nope, it's actually just really dirty. We sat for about three minutes because I figured I would just ask the server to wipe it down real quick. Nobody came. All the servers had disappeared. I finally got frustrated and walked around to find a clean table. Not one of the empty tables were wiped down, and there were quite a few. It wasn't busy at all. I sat back down and looked at the booth across from us where old food still sat with flies buzzing around it. Waited a few more minutes. Still no server. Georgetown is small town and wasn't having much luck finding a decent breakfast (yes breakfast). This place has best breakfast anywhere nearby.... pancakes (chocolate chip especially) great. .... but the menu for lunch and dinner won't disappoint. have a bit of everything. today having fish and chips which are quite tasty! can't wait to try other items. in addition , the prices are very reasonable and more so than other places I've been to. .....eat-in! I visit many of the pizza king locations locally but i go to the Georgetown location the most b/c I live in that area. Every time I go there I am greeted with a smile! There service is always excellent and as busy as they are there is never a wait for my food whether I dine in or eat out. I would highly recommend going to Pizza King in Georgetown.
