Our server was pleasant (I think he said his name was Joe?) Took our orders promptly and answered my questions. I'm vegan so dining at certain establishments can be tough. This was a meat heavy place, not a lot of selections for me. I had nachos with salsa, guacamole (tasted store bought) chips were a bit stale...olives and jalapenos. My husband and I were staying at The Colonial Inn. We had the munchies and wanted something to eat. We ordered take out. It was a Tuesday night. When we went to pick up our items, the bar was somewhat crowded. It was very hard to get anyone's attention. It seemed as if the female bartender was too busy with her regulars. The group that she was with was extremely loud and, in my opinion, should probably have already been cut off. We got a waitresses attention. She said the food should be out shortly. The food was still quite warm when we got back to the room as it was less than a five minute drive. We had ordered buffalo wings. They were extremely over cooked and the chicken was terribly dry. There was plenty of buffalo sauce but it still wasn't enough to make the wings palatable. We also ordered sliders. When placing the order, we were asked what temperature we wanted for the burgers. We stated medium. These were beyond well done. Everything was so unbelievably dry. We have no interest in giving it another try. read more

Don't expect much from this local dive. Food is edible, although some of my friends love the wings I tried them once and the were a bit dry. The half off cheese steaks on Thursdays are a little bit better than what you'd expect for such a cheap meal. They do have some of the best prices for beers (domestic and craft) and a pretty solid selection so that definitely helps them in my eyes be one of the better bars in this area. read more

Always liked going to JDs because they have a pool table but I will never be going back. The staff is always in a bad mood and treat their customers like garbage. If you only want to get drunk and have good food go to JDs if you don't care how you are treated. Don't go when Jenn is working. That is all the advice I can give you. First off I love the nod to classic South Jersey folklore - the Jersey Devil myth isn't widespread enough in New Jersey, most people in the state think it's only the name of our hockey team. JD's has the legend right on the front of the menu. I tried both the chicken & spinach sandwich and the Reuben and I enjoyed both! Our server was really nice and the atmosphere was very friendly. Honestly, I was worried this place would t live up to the hype of the previous Johnny hammers (which was phenomenal). But the wings are FANTASTIC, the cook Krystal brings the food out with LOVE and you can absolutely tell that. Stopped here for dinner and thought it was great. Located in a strip mall off of Route 9. Very roomy with a large bar and local feel. Menu was mostly standard pub fare with a good variety of selections and macrobrews. Our server was excellent. Prices were very reasonable. My family loved the mozzarella sticks here. Went here a week ago with a group of people for their Wednesday night trivia and wing/tender night (.60 cents each I believe) We had such a great time and can't wait to return. The drinks were cheap and the tenders were really tasty. We ended up ordering them twice in one night! Our bartenders were both very nice and attentive. The food server was also, despite the dining room being packed also, he was very pleasant. The trivia was really fun too ! And free ! We had a great time because the questions are of a wide variety and we were with a group between the ages 22-55 everyone participated ! Stopped in last night for the wings and was not disappointed. I tried each of the signature sauces, but was shocked to find out how much I enjoyed their house made blueberry and ghost pepper sauce. My server did tell me that it is not officially on the menu, but is always available on Wednesday night. After stuffing myself with the wings I decided to stay and have a few pints of beer. They have an excellent selection, upwards of 60 different brews. However, my main reason for deciding to stay for a few drinks was to hear the telling of the tale of the Jersey Devil. A friend had recently informed me that all of JD's (stands for Jersey Devil's) employees are required to know the story of the Jersey Devil and tell the tale in an extremely entertaining, almost theatrical fashion. The bartender, my server, and even one of the owners took turns telling the story. I was absolutely astonished at the passion they each put in to their telling of the tale. Really great bar serving nice craft beer selections on tap. I haven't eaten a lot on the menu because I mainly get the wings and tenders which are phenomenal. On Sunday's they have all the games on various televisions and usually play the Eagles game on a big screen television. They have outdoor seating with televisions as well if you want to sit outside you can still catch the game. Bartenders are great and I have never had a bad experience. I recommend checking it out if you are looking for good food and beer with a nice atmosphere. read more

This is our first time trying this place as our friend is a regular here. Before coming down I yelp a couple of restaurants and since this place has only 3.5 stars rating I skipped looking at the menu or even considered coming down to try it. But again our friend recommended that this place is awesome so we went today to have lunch and ordered the British fish and chip and fillet mignon cheesesteak with chips and pickles. Food came out and the fries is overly cooked. It was dry same as the fish so our friend who recommended this place told the server that the fries are all dry and asked her if she can take it back to the kitchen? and ask them for a fresh batch of fries. There are two more of us who ordered the same thing and had the same dried fries but the server didn't ask us if we wanted ours to be redone as well she actually look like she was catching an attitude for taking the plate of fries back to the kitchen. The fillet mignon cheesesteak is so bland and no seasoning at all. It is Sucks to have this experience for first timer like us most likely won't come back to this pub. read more

After packing up my daughter from Stockton we wanted a quick bite, not wanting to go all the way to Historic Smithville this popped up on yelp. Waitress was very friendly and the bar very comfortable. My daughter had the Cuban and I had the JD's crab cake melt . The "filet mignon cheesesteak" was thick, tough chunks of meat on a stale, untoasted roll. Should he sliced thin, ridiculous! The fried shrimp were overdone, tough ,too dark & almost burnt! Absolutely delicious. Went here with my friend with food allergies and they were very accommodating to her dietary restrictions. When she was given a food that accidentally had avocado on it (to which she is allergic), the really nice waitress took it back and got her a brand new one no questions asked. read more

This place was awful. The chicken tails came out chewy and the fillet mignon cheesesteak couldn't of possibly been fillet being as chewy as it was. I guess the people that go here enjoy chewy food? We have been here once to purchase my favorite Pinot Grigio. That day my husband noticed Monday nights are 6.99 burger nights. I was hoping I could get a veggie burger but alas none. We have been here multiple times, and they used to be great. However, we visited last night and we were extremely disappointed. The ONLY pro about this business is the service. Our waiter was extremely helpful. He was also very apologetic when we complained about the following. The food was inedible. My mother and sister ordered the French onion soup which was not too bad, but they also got a Caesar salad and it was terrible. The dressing was far from Caesar and the croutons were really bad. I got the chicken finger platter. The French fries were almost raw. Hot, but raw. My chicken tenders were very over cooked. The breading was a very dark brown and the chicken was only okay. My father got the cheesesteak and he complained that it was really bad. His fries were just the same as mine. Overall, this establishment will not be getting my money any time soon. read more

Normally I would give this place a very good review, the food is excellent and the servers are very nice, unfortunately this will not be a good review. My boyfriend and I were going to order to go the other night and I happen to have my dog with me so I was waiting outside in the sitting area when he went in to get a menu so we could order, we were about to order our food when a manager walked by and said sorry we're not pet friendly, and said we couldn't sit in the seats provided outside, and his tone was very rude, he was not polite about it at all. Keep in mind there was NO ONE eating outside and she was sitting down being very well behaved. We left and went to the local McDonald's where not only were they dog friendly, they also gave her some doggy biscuits when we went through the drive-thru. Hopefully Jds is friendlier to people with service animals, and that manager needs to learn how to talk to people. I won't be coming back for a good while, and I will be telling my friends and neighbors. read more

This is a geographically adjusted 3 stars. After a round of golf at Galloway National, we were jonesing for a beer and bar food. The golf courses kitchen was closed and there is little surrounding competition. The fact that anything is yelp reviewed around here was a plus and is really why we came. Entering JD's feels so familiar. A large bar with a fair amount of old wood, bright miller lite neon signs, dart boards, bruce springsteen, macrobrew specials, and a bunch of locals. While some find this scene depressing, I find it endearing. Nonetheless, if you're from the tristate region, you'll feel at home. The draft list is as expected with predominately macrobrews. The bottle list was a bit better with some expected, but great choices like dogfishhead, victory etc. The menu was also fairly standard: wings, chili, fried stuff, sandwiches, burgers... I had a bowl of chili and some wings. The chili was meh, but what was I expecting? The wings were solid, bar wings. Not the best, far from the worst, and definitely satisfying. My buddy had a reuben, for which he shared the sentiment I had for the wings. A sub $30 tab for a couple beers and enough food to fuel me back to Philly was totally worth it. Good option for golfers to look at if playing nearby and dont wanna eat at the course. read more

Before I was finished my last beer of the night and was ready to pay/tip accordingly, the bartender Domenique McGowan (a very rudely entitled bartender) completely blind sided me and asked me, and I quote: "if she would ever receive a tip." Well, I was going to tip her I'll tell you that much, but after that comment I had no such inclination to throw a penny her way. Avoid this bartender at all costs!!
