After rave reviews from my parents' friends and seeing 4.9 on yelp, we decided that we had to go here for my dad's birthday. I wish I could give this place 5 stars. The service was impeccable. The wait staff is so friendly and attentive. The food was not good. Maybe it was what we all ordered. My daughter's chicken fingers were pretty good. The salad we started with, the kale Gorgonzola, honestly I wish I ordered as my meal, that was good. The beignets they so generously gave us for my dad's birthday were delicious. The chocolate cake was just ok. I started with the good. The bread was cold. We started off with the French onion porta cello that was highly recommended it was just bleh. My onion chicken was so bland, no taste at all. The side of mashed potatoes it came with was very good as well as the brussel sprouts. My dad ordered the NY steak soecial. It was supposed to be slightly spicy and have special fries. He said the fries were plain and bland and the steak was decent, but wasn't worth it for $40. My mom said her veal was just ok. I really wanted to love this place. It shows that they really want their diners to feel at home and welcome. The place is clean and nicely done. Unfortunately steely, there's no heat in the bathrooms and we had to change my daughter and use the restroom in the freezing cold. I hope I get a chance to try something else here. I won't be running back, so many other places to try. 3 stars for the excellent service and delicious salad and beignets. Minus 2 stars for the sub par rest of our meal. read more

Jeanine's has become one of my new favorite restaurants in the Glen Cove/Sea Cliff area! I came here with family on a Sunday night, and everything we ordered was so delicious. Between the five of us, we shared the buffalo wings, brook trout, chicken Principessa, coconut shrimp, and a pepperoni Neapolitan-style pizza--and everything was a hit. Our server, Marian, was super sweet and on top of everything--our drinks were always full, and she checked in often without hovering. Chef Jeanine even came out to personally share the specials and later stopped by to see how we were enjoying everything, which made the night feel extra special. My dad (who is very hard to please), along with my mom and grandma (who never finish their meals), all practically licked their plates clean. That says it all. It might not look like much from the outside, but the inside is charming and would even be perfect for a private event. In the sea of North Shore restaurants, Jeanine's is a hidden gem--definitely worth checking out! read more

Pros: I'll start off by saying the food is great! The Meat Lovers thin crust pizza is amazing as well as some other dishes. That isn't the issue with this place. Cons: I've called this place 4 times in past couple of months for a pick-up order. First time was great and picked up the food and fell in love so much so that it would be a regular on a night that I'd pick up rather than cook. Second time I called and was told to hold on and I literally timed it. After 10 minutes, no one picked up but could hear all the chatter from the bar patrons. Third time I called it was probably picked up by a bar patrons that sounded like he really enjoyed his liquids. Needless to say, he placed me down on bar and after what seemed like a few minutes, I was hung up on. The last and final time I attempted to call for pickup, no one ever picked up the phone. Final result: I believe if you plan on going up there and dealing with the wait, then the food is worth it. As for me being a regular customer, they've lost my business. If they had a working website or some other way of ordering, I may try them again. Otherwise, I won't go there unless I plan to sit and eat there or indulge at the bar: The potential for a great business is there, but maybe they only want to remain as a bar to their regulars. read more

This is just a beautiful new restaurant in a very conveniently located shopping center with a very easy in and out to Glen Cove Ave. I had the pleasure of dining at 'The View' restaurant at the Glen Cove Golf Course when Jeanine ran it. That was a fun place to be. This new restaurant is a beautiful modern venue with a very comfortable vibe. I especially love the wood burning pizza oven in the front opposite the big beautiful bar. We were a large group and sat very comfortably at a long table in the main room. Jeanine's team is amazing and works very hard to make sure your comfortable and you have what you need for an enjoyable experience. What's nice is with so many people you get to order a bit of everything [and share-taste]. Jeanine does such a great job creating wonderful dishes that are always fresh and tasty. Our dinner was not served family style but everyone managed to get a taste of everything that was ordered. - Fresh broiled Salmon - Delicious Steak served with fresh vegetables - Wonderful Chicken Francaise - Vanilla Ice cream over chocolate cake Everything was a definite YUM and I am looking forward to many return trips to start eating my way through the menu. How do you screw up a Greek salad?! 1. cheap, canned black olives, 2. wilted old lettuce, 3. no tomatoes, 4. chopped red onion and not enough of it, 4. flavorless feta cheese, (not even sure if it was feta,) 5. lumpy ball of flavorless hummus, eww..... 6. fried greasy wontons/pita chips....I cannot understand this place having even 2 stars. I eat here frequently and this was the first time I ordered a burger. I ordered the blue cheese burger, and to say it was amazing is an understatement. I'm 78 years old and I've eaten a million burgers in my life, and this was the best burger I've ever had. Cooked perfectly, the taste was wonderful, the bun was delicious. Excellent food and exceptional service! The food at Jeanine's is consistently delicious, and the entire staff is first-rate. Jeanine herself is so warm and accommodating and is such a sincere and kind person. On one visit when I was in a rush picking up dinner for my mom, she went above and beyond to quickly prepare the most perfectly tender chicken cutlet with vegetables in just minutes. On my most recent visit, I had the most delicious chicken parm with ziti I have ever had in my life. The ziti was not only perfectly cooked, but the sauce - wow! It was something out of this world. The best I've ever had. I can't even properly describe how incredible it was - you have to try it for yourself! While I was waiting, someone at the bar overheard my order and told me how amazing it was and said that I am going to love it! She was absolutely right. I've also had their brick oven pizza many times - they make it fresh right in front of you in minutes and it's absolutely delicious. I can't believe how quickly they prepare such phenomenal food across the board. The prices are incredibly reasonable for such high-quality, home-cooked style food. So we ordered the traditional Thanksgiving feast take out from Jeanines. Mind you this was our first big holiday without mom. She had passed in July. Everything was nothing short of exceptional. When I lived in Sea Cliff, I was a regular at Jeanine's previous restaurant, PAGE ONE for many years, due to the expertise of Chef Jeanine!!!! Then I relocated and it wasn't convenient for me to travel to the Glen Cove area. But, when I saw on line, that she recently opened a new venue, I knew I had to pay a visit. Boy, am I glad I did!!!! SUPER OUTSTANDING!!!!! I didn't think it possible, but Jeanine's artistry in the kitchen has gone to the next level!!!! She is, without a doubt, one of the most OUTSTANDING chefs on Long Island!!!! While I'm reluctant to rave too much about this place for selfish reasons (I want to make sure I'll be able to get a table), you should ABSOLUTELY check it out....but make a reservation!!!!! We have had dinner three times at Jeanine's, ordered different plates each time and all have been prepared wonderfully. It has become our favorite local place. Stopped by with my family for lunch since we just got into town. Jeanine ended up greeting us and gave us a heads up that they had a big event going on and service would be a little slow which was fine with us since we were not in rush. We were blown away by the food. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. I had the bbq burger, wife had the cesar salad and the kids split an order of mac & cheese and fries. You have to save room for dessert and try her beignets. Wife said easily hands down the best beignets she's ever had. Truely the best customer service we have had in years. My husband and I have dined both as regular customers at Janine's and I helped to arrange a catered event there. As walk-in dining customers, we immediately were made to feel welcome by both the delightful waitresses and by Jeanine (co-owner and chef) who came over to our table to introduce herself and make sure everything had been taken care of to our complete satisfaction. Our dishes were both creative and very delicious. Regarding the catered event, I was on the planning committee for my high school reunion and responsible for working with the owners of the restaurant to ensure that what we wanted done got done. Both owners, Janine and her husband Fred, are incredibly easy to work with and wanted us to be 100% satisfied with everything. We were! There were lots of choices with the menu and they didn't complain at all when I asked them to make a few almost-last-minute changes. They gave us a microphone, a piano keyboard, helped us hang our banner, and provided as many extra tables as we wanted for display items. They went out of their way to be helpful and generous. Wow what an amazing meal! We started with a French Onion Portobello Melt. It truly melted in your mouth. I had the Pork tenderloin cinnamon spiced with an apple cranberry glaze, mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. My husband had Chicken Principessa with artichokes, green peas and a lemon white wine sauce. Truly delicious, creative comfort food at its best! We can't wait to go back and try other items on the menu. Our server was very attentive and cordial. There seemed to be plenty of staff available. The restaurant itself was beautifully decorated. We decided to try the restaurant and it didn't disappoint. The restaurant is beautifully designed and welcoming. There is a wood fire oven for pizza in the corner which gives an old world charm feel. Chef Jeannine was as always very nice and sent over a small taste of the pizza, which was very good. The food was also delicious. We had the fish and chips and trout along with a Caesar salad. A short story. Last night I had ordered a hamburger with Swiss cheese and caramelized onions for pickup. When I got home with my food the burger didn't have the onions and the Swiss cheese was somewhat clumpy. This was disappointing since the burgers at Jeanine's are maybe the best I've ever had. So when I called to complain about the order I was transferred to Jeanine herself who apologized profusely and offered to cook another burger and she would have it delivered to my house. I said that wouldn't be necessary but Jeanine insisted. Imagine my surprise when twenty minutes later my door bell rang and it was Jeanine herself delivering a burger that was maybe the best burger and fries I've ever had! I've never had someone do something like this and I was just so impressed. The food by the way is very good at Jeanine's and the menu has a lot to offer. Get the burger. You won't be disappointed! I never write reviews but for this restaurant I had to. I went there to eat lunch with my son last week. I have a dairy and gluten allergy the owner came out to talk to me she made me salmon which was the best salmon I ever had. She told me next time I come in she will make me what I'm in the mood for. She is the nicest woman the place is so cute and the waitress was amazing. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. This is my new favorite restaurant I feel very safe with my allergies.
