I have used them for putting in and taking out my dock and hoist season after season. They charge a fair price and do it within the schedule agreed upon year after year. This past year in the summer the water started out low and got lower so I bought more dock length and as soon as the order was ready, Jefes steered his team to put the extra lengths in and moved the hoist out so we could carry on with our boating season. It's great to count on someone these days. Two years back i had extensive landscaping and hardscaping put into our property. Jefes and his team. delivered as promised on the design and scope. And because of that, we increased the scope and that additional work was tagged on and completed immediately as well. We love the results and our neighbors do also! Then most recently I was downstate and needed help this past weekend with something in the house upstate. It needed a little brawn and heavy lifting to get into the crawl space and fix. With nowhere to turn as neighbors were out of town, I contacted Jefes Landscaping and asked if he had anyone who could help out. This is completely unrelated to any of the work his company provides. We are in need of a landscape designer and installer, and we saw several ads in regards to Jefe's Landscaping. Over a 2 week period June / July 2026, we tried to call and discuss, set an appointment, etc, however, they use an AI assistant to screen your call. So a number of times we left our name, address, phone number & email info, along with a description of the scope of the project. We did not receive a single return phone call, text or email in return. If it's that hard to get them on the phone, just imagine the problems you would encounter if you could get them to do your project and had a problem occur. While it notes a 4 star, it's more a 4.5 star review. We met with a handful of companies to do our front and backyard project. Ultimately we chose Jefe's because we really connected with Austin and David. Both are very friendly and helpful. They were upfront and honest with costs and were able to give a rough estimate onsite. We then immediately got some mock-ups of design with a day or so. It took other companies 5-7 days to even get us a quote. They started the project on time and were able to complete fairly quickly. The team was onsite early getting things ready to go once 8a came around. They worked hard every day and even came by on rainy days to check on things despite not being able to work. Everything that we wanted is exactly what we received. We even did a small pivot with adding a short retaining wall that is high enough to sit on comfortably too. The pergolas were exactly what we wanted and came out beautifully. The yards came out absolutely gorgeous. We landscaped with plants, flowers, and trees from Moana and Jefe's team came in and placed them where wanted along with installing the drip system. Our grass looks amazing, paver work is on point, the DG look is fantastic (we will have to add a bit more though). See before and after pics. We also had a new fence put in. However, Jefe's didn't do that for us as we used the fencing company that our community all uses. FYI - Jefe's can install fences if needed. The challenge that we had on some days was communicating with the team onsite as they were predominantly Spanish speaking. So it would have been nice to have a bilingual team member onsite, but we understand that is hard to find. Austin was great with communicating with us via text and calls when we had any questions or issues that came up. A few minor miscommunications, but overall the project was a huge success and we've been enjoying this yard since they finished in early spring. Mistakenly gave Jefe's our first payment to "secure our spot in their schedule" only to find out they weren't appropriately licensed to do the job they designed for us; they were going to subcontract it out without telling us to a subcontractor we didn't approve. Separately, they changed the cost of our job by over $90,000 once we got started, but then revised that same change to $120,000 (on top of the original job estimate). When we asked why they change their price so much they encouraged us to find another contractor and refused to give us our deposit back. Michael and Scott Trimber-Hamilton entered into a contract with David Perez and Jefe's Landscaping, LLC on 3/28/25. to install a new landscape in our backyard in a new development community. The contract included sod, patio pavers including a walkway out to a firepit seating area and various rock, decomposed granite, shrubs, trees, a water feature and roses. When Jefe's finished the job and we paid them in full, approximately 4-6 weeks later I noticed the plants and a tree in the front yard was showing signs of water depravation. The leaves on the tree began to curl and the shrubs began to die on the right-hand side of my driveway. In June 2025 I contacted the landscape company that installed the development's front landscaping to come out and assess the issue as I thought it was something to do with their installation. They, JC Companies, LLC, came out and dug up the irrigation they installed and found that when Jefe's took down a portion of the fence to access the rear of the house to bring in heavy equipment and materials for the backyard they severed the irrigation supply to the right-hand side of my garage driving the heavy equipment over it. JC Companies took images and shared them with me, and I contacted Jefe's to inquire as to what I was seeing in the images. (Collection #1) Their response was less than acceptable saying I was "complaining about something that was 'fixable.'" I could see that what they did was a deliberate coverup, rather than properly repairing what they damaged. I decided at that point that I didn't want them back on my property under those conditions and their attitude regarding my concerns (Collection #2). Toward the end of June, I again called upon JC Companies to evaluate the sod in my backyard that was installed by Jefe's and was dying. We determined the irrigation was insufficient to cover the sod and JC Companies gave me an estimate to replace the dead sod and add additional sprinkler heads to adequately cover the lawn area (See invoice and collection #3). The final straw was when I found that my backyard was flooding when the irrigation system was watering the backyard, David Perez (Jefe's Landscaping, LLC) came out when I requested a warranty check on the work that was done and his landscaper found a couple issues with their work and 'repaired' them (collection #4), splicing a leak in the supply line to the line supplying the same area of my backyard and tying off an additional drip line feeding the same area. After digging up the landscaping to investigate the flooding issue, David Perez stated he would put the landscaping back together and turn the main water supply back on which feeds the front and back yards once I changed, or updated, my first review to a '5 Star review', effectively holding my entire yard hostage. Collection #5 reflects the condition David left my yard in after it was determined that Jefe's was only partially responsible for the flooding conditions in the backyard. Collection #6 is the initial review that was given when I found the front irrigation system severed, crimped and in disrepair. Collection #7 reflects what JC Companies and myself achieved to correct all the issues left behind by Jefe's. BEAUTIFUL!! First appointment we scheduled for a consult, they said they'd be ten minutes late. An hour later no contact from them so I called and cancelled, we'd been waiting way too long . They reached out to me and rescheduled. We were asked several times what our budget was. We were very clear from the beginning. They came to our home, did a walk through with us, asked us our budget again, said they would give us a quote in about a week. Got the quote, over two times what we told them our budget was. False advertising. If you see a Facebook ad for a free 3D design, they do not honor their ad. They require a contract and deposit before they show you what the design will be. They dont offer a description of the square footage that they will landscape, so they expect an open-ended contract. Response to Jefes: The 3D design was offered on Facebook without any requirements for a contract. It would have been useful as a description of proposal for work to be done. And since the actual contract/proposal did not include square footage to be landscaped, or any meaningful details as to work to be done, it was false advertising. Specifically, your proposal included allowances for plants that had to be selected with the client. My only complaint is false advertising. There was no "free 3Ddesign" and no stipulations that customer needed to fulfill to obtain 3Ddesign. PS I am a Real client who needs complete landscaping for the entire house. No one would sign a contract without a complete and descriptive proposal that includes actual plantings and square footage of the work to be done. Since I need the entire house, the 3D design would have demonstrated work to be done -front yard, back yard, side yard, etc! The "free 3D design" was definitely false advertising! read more

We have had a nightmare experience dealing with David and Jefe's landscaping. They clearly have the ability to do some good work but fall short in so many ways. Throughout the process they refused to answer questions and return messages. Because of this they continuously had to rework areas twice putting us way behind schedule. They ended up not finishing the job because we refused to make payments that they demanded that were not in compliance with the contract. They also wrote a contract that demanded thousands of dollars upfront which is apparently not in compliance with Nevada law. if you do decide to work with them, better check their references better than we did. read more

The quality of work was impressive and we love how everything turned out. They also provide digital videos of the design plan so you know exactly what you are getting. The response from David is inaccurate. we were never told the sink would be seasonal use only or non potable. This was NOT discussed with us EVER and the contract clearly states that this is for an outdoor kitchen and would be plumbed to be FULLY FUNCTIONAL, not seasonal. The hose bibs outside work year round. I've also filed complaints with the BBB and Nevada State Contractors Board. You will find NOTHING in David's contract with us, in text messages or email that states we agreed to the sink being plumbed in a dangerous way or to be seasonal but there is plenty of documentation showing that I brought this up numerous times as being unacceptable. And Austin ABSOLUTELY told us 2 weeks from start of work witnessed by more than only me. You received ALL permit approvals in May and did not complete the project till October. I clearly did not count the permitting time in my review. All of that correspondence has also been provided to the Contractors Board. This has NOTHING to do with the payments. In fact, we paid early throughout the project because you asked us to. 91% of the total project amount was paid a month and a half before the project was completed. We exceeded the contract payment thresholds significantly as a favor to you. And to be clear, you are not allowed to use any photos I sent you privately for any advertising or public display. read more

Horses and rabbits kept us from having a nice lawn in the front yard no matter how hard we tried. That, added to some poor landscaping that was completed by another company a few years ago, let us to needing a landscaper. I contacted Jefe's Landscaping, and they came out the next day to give us a quote. The quote was completely within reason, so we decided to go with them. They were able to begin the project within three weeks, and completed the project in four days. The retaining wall looks great, and they were in consistent contact with us to discuss how we wanted the wall to look. The employees were very friendly, and cleaned up Each day before they left. First thing that drew me to Jefes was the owner and designer came out to discuss and quote my project making everything transparent and on the spot. The communication was great from the start and even after the project was completed. Others premium companies either wanted money upfront for design or had poor communication so Jefes was an easy decision. Austin, the designer, really listened and designed the backyard to our vision, asking questions and providing recommendations without pressure. He provided a virtual design within a week of contract signing. He also handled the permits and HOA paperwork so we didn't have to. Austin and David (Owner) were onsite at least 1-2 times a week for the duration of the project which was a little over 4 weeks. Making sure that work was completed and to my satisfaction, correcting anything that needed correcting....which was very little. The crew worked hard and were very friendly and made sure to take care of tools and cleanup each day. I would highly recommend anyone looking for upscale landscaping to work with Jefes. Great Masonry, Stucco and Painting Contractor in Reno I have to give a big shout out to David Perez and his company, Jefes Landscaping LLC. I called David and the next day he came by and gave me a firm price for the repair work we needed done. The stone features around the home have been slowly deteriorating from the weather for years. Pieces falling out, other pieces loose. Another winter would do much more damage for sure. Likewise, numerous cracks in the stucco, some large enough to invite water seepage from the next fierce wind winter storm. David and his crew came the following week. The work took about a week of long hours. They pointed out several stucco and stone defects we hadn't seen. There was more work than originally bid for but David did not raise the price. He and his crew clearly are proud of their work. The finished product including near perfect paint matching, a great difficulty when doing stucco repair. Ugh what a pain. When you could get them here they were ok for some things. See how they set the sprinkler and left the valve box filling due to leaving the water on? They feel this job is done. He moved the wrong sprinkler, doesn't listen. If he wouldn't have led us on we could have hired someone else and saved our grass. Very unreliable. Jefe bid our job before it had a license to do the work. Although it got the license before it started, it's workers were not aware of the plans and requirements. The had to replace the rebar for the wall twice. They ended up putting stairs in the wrong place because the did not follow the blueprints or talk to us. These and other mistakes meant they were over budget and they tried to get us to pay more. When we refused they just didn't complete the job. They did not put backing on parts of the wall. They left the base of an existing fence post exposed. They did not replace they dirt they initially removed, leaving one side of the wall exposed. read more

If I was the only one unhappy using Jefes I would chalk it up to just my bad experience, but there are many unhappy in our Toll Brothers neighborhood that have used them. Most complaints I hear are about completion time. A couple have gone into 10 months. First I had to pay half upfront, two months before they started the work, that was hard to swallow but a neighbor said it was worth it. When they came for the estimate I told them I wanted a backyard similar to my neighbors. We talked about a few things more that they were going to do and I signed the estimate. When the work was almost through they started packing up their tools, I asked about the rockets in the side yard and they said it was not in the estimate. ( true, although we talked about it, it was omitted They said they were going to replant a tree, they did not. They were going to make steps to a door, they did not. The final straw was arguing with the owner about getting the pavers even, there was an area that many pavers were low and was pooling water, they did not want to make it right. I had to argue for 15 minutes about doing the right thing, I was told, "I'm too picky " If too picky is wanting it done right, then yes I am too picky. I received a quote from David and made a $1400 deposit via Venmo. Three weeks passed and I heard nothing from him. I contacted him twice and heard nothing. Then I sent him a message that I wanted my deposit back. So he scheduled the work. The morning of the work I waited until 10ish and messaged him to find out where the crew and materials were. He gave me a lame excuse that there was an "emergency" (the whole crew?). I told him I wanted to cancel and wanted my deposit back. He said "I don't return deposits". I told him I really did not want to go to small claims, but I am a 70 year old widow and this is a lot of money. After a few back and forths, he said he would refund my deposit. So far it has not been returned to my Venmo account. I did everything I was asked to do and got zero in return! read more

We had a paver patio put in for the backyard and a rock planter box for the front. The artificial turf was a mess as well and Jefe's straightened it out. They did a wonderful job.
