The place was clean, comfy, and had a lot of outlets to charge a computer or phone. They also offer a free shuttle. The driver was very nice as I did use it. So I bought a $42K truck recently from JG Chevy. I have service package and my last service they didn't check battery , fill washer fluid and who knows if they even really changed the oil. I have them a bad survey they sent to me. I called to speak to Service manager after having battery die 2 weeks after the service. You could see all the corrupt build up as soon as you popped hood. So the service manager after many attempts and told I'd get a call back tells me you have is a bad review so we don't think we want to do business with you. Unreal. If you can handle the facts and take constructive criticism when you fail then go to hell. Bob King will now get all of my business. Including purchase of a Z06 vette o was trying to get at JG but no one ever wanted to work with me. Steer clear of JG. They only want your money then forget about you. read more

Very bad customer service, faked a multi point inspection by checking good for everything. Never had a car with good everything, especially a car that is 5 years old. Asked why a box wasn't filled out for the tire, they told me it was "probably" ok and didn't go out to look at it. Probably? This is a car they are risking lives with. I told them the situation. She said "she was shocked they wouldn't come up on that. Bring it to them and she's sure they could make it work for 2k more!" The Service Department is horrific. The department manager Bill was smug and condescending as was his staff. I spoke with 4 different people all with the same smug attitude, yet they called me rude. I brought my vehicle in for an oil change. One of 6 I had received as a package deal when I purchased the vehicle several months prior. I now think they are Leads to get the vehicle3 in so they can "find" something else working incorrectly. I had left the vehicle there and put my key fob in the drop box. I receive a shortly after they opened informing me the key fob I had driven there with, and been using daily was not being recognized by the vehicle. They could not start and move the car or perform the scheduled service. However, for a fee of $200 they could do a diagnostic on the fob, and if the remote was bad it would be about $125 for a new remote. I told them absolutely not. I would get someone to bring the other fob. I asked them to change the battery in the remote. Why didn't they think of that, well it's not nearly $200, how would the bilk me out of that sort of money by changing the battery. They did. Claimed it still didn't work. My next concern is the vehicle has a transmitter pocket in it for scenarios like this why hadn't they tried to do this? Again, because that is a non-profitable remedy. I told them to do nothing I didn't even care if the scheduled oil change occurred, I had to get the vehicle from this deceptive Service Department before my "free" oil change ended up costing me hundreds of dollars. I go to pick up my vehicle and it's not where I parked it. How had it been moved? Did they do something without my permission? I was livid. I admit, I lost some decorum and went into the service department heated, and yelling. I wanted my vehicle. They said it was out front. Bill the Department manager claimed if they held the fob a certain way they could start the car, but was still insisting I would need a new remote. Maybe they should open an Owner's manual which tells you exactly where to put the fob to start the vehicle, every time. Again, this wouldn't have allowed them to scam money from me. I gave him the second remote I had brought; he clicked it and found the car. As he handed me the "bad" fob he was still insisting I would need a new remote. I took that remote to A-1 Locksmith, told him of the incident at Jeff Gordon. He asked if they changed the battery, I said they claimed to have. He opened the remote. Seems the new battery had been installed backward by the knowledgeable Service Department. A-1 tested the battery, re-installed it correctly, click, click, and voila the remote worked. In the end Jeff Gordon wins. I will not be back for the remaining 5 oil changes. I called this incident in that day almost two weeks ago and yet to be contacted by Jeff Gordon Chevrolet. I chatted with someone yesterday again recanting the incident, and told I would have been contacted this morning. I'm still waiting, but not hopeful. Stay away from this dealer's Service Department. read more

Be aware that if you pre-order a new vehicle from Jeff Gordon Chevy or put a deposit down on a vehicle in transit to the dealership, you are forced to pay for dealership add-on items such as: Wheel locks - $199 Nitrogen(for tires) - $199 Door Edge Guards(Who needs these?) - $498 Tinted Glass...two windows - $699 Cargo Net - $99 I asked to not have these items installed when the car arrived from the manufacturer as I didn't want to pay for them, but said they were non-negotiable add-ons. No thank you, I'll take my business elsewhere and pay for what I want and not what I'm told. A very anti-consumer practice and they've lost my business. read more

I've had Several bad expirences here, both in service and sales. Service tried to charge $360 for a diagnostic fee for a warranty claim..when I called them on it they then refused to work on the car. Tried to buy an almost new used express van and found them to be the highest priced. The salesman was an extremely nice guy easy to do business with..when the manager was brought in to close the deal I found him to be extremely arrogant and condescending....I walked out. Tony that showed me the update was pretty good but after checking to see what we need to do and it went down hill from there. They treated us like we were criminals and we didn't appreciate that at all. When I first moved here I was at a car shop down the street and this lady wasn't talking good about Jeff Gordon at all. I went to get service other places besides Jeff Gordon after that. My visit there was like WOW how they tried to bully us with this guy that look like he came off a short yellow bus. When they said we had to come up with 40 thousand to trade in our truck that we owed 30 thousand more on was ridiculous. Yes we have 40 thousand but wasn't about to give it to them. Don't have to worry about us coming back there again never deserved to be treated like that over some material shit. We still talking about that after 3 days now. BEWARE OF SERVICE DEPARTMENT. Brought my vehicle here when my truck felt funny when accelerating. They said I need a new belt and new transmission. 10k bill and 3 weeks later I get my vehicle. It was making awful squeeling & screeching noises. I contacted my Rep Christian who refused to do the right thing and look at it. He said he will look at it but it's possible that I will be out an additional assessment fee if it's not their fault. I shouldn't have to pay anything for an issue I never had before I brought it here. I went back and fourth with Christian for well over a week. He was dismissive and rude. He never escalated my issues to a supervisor. I no longer trusted Jeff Gordon to touch my truck so I brought it to the dealership I got it from. Guess what they found? JEFF GORDON PUT AN AFTERMARKET BELT ON MY VEHICLE THAT DOESNT FIT. The dealership I bought it from agreed to look at it for free regardless of what was wrong. They also agreed to make it right, fix Jeff Gordons mess up and make sure I wasnt out of pocket any more money. That dealership knows how to treat customers. Christian at Jeff Gordon refused to help me without potentially putting me out of pocket more. I called Christian to express how awful my entire experience has been with him after finding this out. I told him I would be leaving a bad review. I said my bad review was not worth the assessment fee that he should have agreed to cover regardless. His response was "I don't need your threats, I know where you work" and hung up. So not only did this place accept my money and refuse to do what's right..They also completely messed up my vehicle, put incorrect aftermarket parts on without my knowledge and communicated threats to me. Communicated threats to a customer because they said they would leave a bad review. I'm disgusted by this place. This is NOT acceptable. Don't buy cars from here. They say they inspect their trades and used cars before a sale. Dealership was selling a 11 year old C6 GS and even though it was low mileage didn't agree that due to age the car required a fluid flush and would not perform the service stating their techs "looked at the fluids and said they looked fine and it wasn't required because of the low miles". How can someone look at fluids and determine that original 11 year old fluids "looked fine". Their add states "BUYWITH CONFIDENCE Multi-point Vehicle Inspection; detail mechanical inspection," yet you offer to sell an 11 year old car with all original fluids still in the vehicle after a "multipoint inspection". Further Jeff Gordon Chevrolet had my deposit in hand while we were discussing the vehicle and because I wanted them to change all the fluids and asked for a discount(cost for door seals) due to door seals that were bad and that I would have to replace, they considered this a "negotiation tactic" and a "breach of sale agreement" and while they still had my deposit, sold the car to someone else. I have owned 64 cars in my lifetime, have never written a bad review or complained about anyone, but this dealership is not an honest dealership. The used car manager actually said to me that "someone like me should not buy a used car or a car this old". Who are they to tell a customer what they should or should not do. I spent money to have someone go and inspect the car for me. I never showed any sign that I was not taking the car. I was doing my due diligence and they sold the car while I had a deposit on it. I asked the questions any smart buyer would ask and I guess they just didn't like it. Careful when buying a used car from this dealer!! Buyer be aware. Their actions just prove I may have been right all along about the vehicle and knew it would be a problem if they sold it to me. More reason for you all to see this review. Again; buyer be aware. My car is in their shop again for the same reason it was there in October. This is only because I brought it somewhere else for maintenance work. The place I brought it to for maintenance was aware of the problem last year. After bringing it to Jeff Gordon and they denying there was anything wrong I brought it to another dealership who confirmed yes there was an oil leak. It took a few months but Jeff Gordon finally agreed and said they fixed it. But nope, not that simple. It is there yet again with an oil leak. ANOTHER WEEK without a car. Promised a rental but no, just excuses. 5 days later went and rented my own car. This is all with an extended warranty. So much aggravation. read more

Hi Do not bring you car to this place. I did for repairs on my car. I was told it would be ready Friday at five. I showed up paid for the reapirs . I took off in my car and just as I got onto College Rd in Wilmington my car stalled. I look down and saw the gas tank was on the red line. Again Im on College Rd a very busy road. The car went a few inches and I knew right away I had to get off the road or I would be hit from behind. I went on the medium on the grass. Thank goodness I made it. I call Jeff Gordon collision center and they put me on hold after I told them they left my car with no gas. I hung on for over six minutes . THen the police came over and I told them what was going. I hung up after six minutes and called again to talk to a manager. The receptionest told me they were all in a meeting and could not be disturbered . I told here was happened and she got a sales man. He got on and asked where I am I. I told him just around the cornor from the Collision center. He said what is across from you . I told him a parking lot and I was past the Resturant . I also told him you can not miss me the police have their lights on. Then three more times he kept asking me where are you. I knew then I was not going anywhere with this man. I told the police officer what they did and how they hung up on me. She called them and his excuse what I was yelling at him and I was not. He was condescending. They did tell her someone would be there in a half hr or so. I had no air conditioning and it was in the 90s outside. It took one hour and I was socken wet from sweat. Do not count on then at all. As soon as I was off the lot they did not care. It took the police to get them to help me out. All they did was put a gallen of gas in my tank. read more

Bought a used truck on March 1, 2024, which I like very much. The reason for my rating is the truck I decided on was not located on the Jeff Gordon Chevrolet Wilmington lot. It was located in Greensboro, NC. The used car manager and sales person said it is no problem to get the truck transferred to Wilmington so I went ahead with the purchase. What was never conveyed to me was the cost for moving that truck from Greensboro to Wilmington, a 208 mile trip, was $1000.00. That cost was added into the price of the truck I purchased and I did not catch the price change until after I had signed the contract and received the truck. I am not blaming anyone other than myself for not asking if there was a transfer fee and not checking the numbers well enough before I signed. I don't think there was any ill will or trickery intended by Jeff Gordon Chevrolet Wilmington but there was never a mention by anyone that I would have to pay for the transfer cost and especially it would cost $1000.00. I would have drove to Greensboro and picked up the truck if I would have known that information. read more

I have been shopping for a replacement truck for several months. I decided to take advantage of the memorial day benefit and requested info online about a truck in Norfolk VA. Quickly got a call from a young lady within the jeff gordon group. She stated the truck I was interested in was still available, so I inquired about transfer fees to get the truck delivered to Wilmington. She stated since the truck was in the jeff gordon group there were no transfer fees. So I agreed to sit down with a salesman. She set me an appointment with Ben? I arrived at the dealership and asked for Ben......"the truck specialist" as I was advised. Brian Shumaker greeted me and we went inside to locate Ben..... I was introduced to Allen and I explained why I was there " the silver truck in Norfolk getting transferred " Allen let me know that I would have to pay a transfer fee and not receive any memorial day benefit if I went with that truck... so I agreed to look around the local lot and Allen left me with Brian.....Still haven't met Ben. Brian did a very good job of selling me a, well the only, truck on the lot that fit my parameters. Brian was knowledgeable about the truck and available features. He was able to answer most of the questions I had without looking up the answer. Again, I had been shopping for several months so I already had a good grasp of the spec on the truck. I found a couple of spots on the truck that needed paint and a worn belt. Brian was able to get my concerns handled timely and I was satisfied with the overall process. Yes, I would shop for another vehicle at jeff gordon, I just hope the initial information clash gets worked out. TERRIBLE SERVICE DEPARTMENT! Do NOT buy or bring your vehicle here for service! You get the run around for basic services like oil change/tire rotation. 3+ week wait time yet they claim no walk-in service but I've seen it every time! Check engine light on? Sorry! Can't even do a simple diagnostic test for +2 weeks! Warranty doesn't matter. They will give you the run around and then try to slap you with an outrageous bill. They love to find other "problems" if you do ever get serviced. Find another dealership even if you have to make day trip to get there! read more

This review is regarding the Hendrick Collision Center at Jeff Gordon Chevrolet in Wilmington, NC. Its been over a month since my 2015 Dodge Charger was towed here after being rear ended by a drunk driver. My vehicle was dropped off there on August 3rd, today is September 4th and no work has been done to my car yet. After it had been there a full week I called and asked what the extent of the damage truly was and they told me they had not even looked at it yet. The following week I called again and got the same response. The third week came to an end and I called again and was told they had ordered all the parts and that the date of completion was set for August 29th, and that they would call me when it was done. The 29th went by and I heard nothing by mid afternoon so I called and was told they were going to try to get to it before the end of the week but with it being the end of the month they were getting all the smaller projects out of the way before tackling any of the large ones. So basically they said they value meeting their shop productivity quota more than their customers. That week went by and we hit the one month mark since they took possession of my vehicle, and I called again and this time expressed how unhappy I was with the lack of service I was being provided. I also told them they have had the parts to repair my vehicle for two weeks and asked why nothing had been done yet. The response I got was "I'm sorry bud, I get what you're saying and I understand. We're going to try to get to it by the end of this week". I asked him why it was going to take 5 weeks, 3 weeks after the parts came in, to replace a bumper, a quarter panel, a tail light and straighten the trunk back and got the response again of "I'm sorry bud, I know this must be frustrating, but it's not up to me". I then asked him who its up to because I was told he was the project manager and he gave me the name and number of the manager of the shop, who has not answered his phone. I am tired of the excuses and the lack of explanations for nothing being accomplished in over a month's time. The insurance company handling my claim (the at fault party's insurance) is also wondering why it has taken this long and still not the first bit of progress. This is supposed to be a reputable collision center....this is unacceptable. I will be advising everyone not to do business with Hendrick in the future in any capacity. read more

I will never return to Jeff Gordon Chevrolet. The truth is that at baseline I am irritated with this place so I choose to limit my interactions with JGC personnel because they are rude and the Service Department customer service is mediocre at best. The bottom line is that their priority goes to those that purchase brand new cars (as I did) and as your vehicle goes up in miles (64K miles over 3 years) the concern they have for you goes down. I could write numerous examples of how they are not customer friendly, but I won't. I will only describe my experience today. I called yesterday to schedule my oil change for 9am- easy. My check-in this morning - easy. When I was notified that my truck was done, I walked up to the service desk and asked for Josh. He had me sign my paperwork, did not explain it, nor did he ask if I had questions. Regardless, I skimmed my paperwork and asked if my brakes were checked. He seemed annoyed by this question. And instead of answering he asked me if they were making noise and that he wasn't sure if it was part of the inspection. He continues to say that I should have told them that I wanted my brakes checked. Interestingly, I have had all of my service over the past 64K miles done at JGC and I have never had my brakes changed. They even told me at my last service visit that they checked my breaks and they looked good (I did not ask them to check my brakes), but ok, fine I'll take that one. I should have asked. Finally, every other time I have been there I have been accompanied out to my truck to make sure that everything is good to go and that I am "satisfied". Not this time. Josh handed me my keys and that was that. I suspect that the Customer Satisfaction surveys are given only to customers that they think will give them a "completely satisfied". If you have ever been a costumer of their Service Department you may have been one of the lucky individuals to be asked to complete one of their Customer Satisfaction surveys. I'm sure you also noticed that the associates go through and specifically tell you that if you do not give them "completely satisfied" throughout the survey that they fail. Seriously?! They even have an example posted in the Sales Department of how you should complete the survey (see picture). I regret not completing a customer satisfaction survey over a year ago, because the last 4 times I have been there I have not been offered to complete one. JGC sales associates know how to sell trucks. They sell an image and a perceived loyalty. Unfortunately, the service department is sub-par and mediocre at best because the bottom line is that part of having your vehicle serviced is paying for customer service. Yes, I am the customer that is completely unsatisfied with the customer service that I have received over the past 1-2 years. I chose not to complete the surveys and I chose to continue to get my 6 prepaid oil changes and tire rotations at JGC. Today was the last time that I will go to Jeff Gordon Chevrolet. I will NOT recommend this dealership or service department to friends or family. Oh well. read more
