Worst dealership I have ever visited, ever. I found a car I was interested on Autotrader in and went inside to find a salesman. I spent five minutes with s young man who could not find the car on their computer. The car was 20 feet away outside the glass. He finally took me over to an older salesman. The older salesman had a hard time finding the car on their computer also . It was as if they didn't want to go outside. The weather was not bad. The vehicle was a 2014 Chevrolet. On Autotrader it stated it was a certified vehicle. The car had a sticker on it that was "As Is No Warranty". The salesman said he had to check on that. He said it had just came in. They have had the vehicle for two months. Three days later I stopped by and the same As Is sticker remains in the window. The salesman asked me if I wanted to drive the car. I said yes. He said he would get the test drive paperwork started. He made a copy of my drivers license, which was acceptable. He then brought me paperwork to sign, which most of it had been recopied so many times it was not legible. The first was a release of personal information. The form basically says they could release my personal information to almost anyone. I refused to sign it. He said I needed to sign it to release information to the bank. I told him I had financing and didn't need his bank. The next form was for the test drive. This form stated I was responsible for any damage to the vehicle. So, if I am sitting at a traffic light I and get rear ended I could end up buying the car. He asked me for my phone number and I said I would give it to him on the promise of not receiving a bunches of phone calls. He said he could not promise that as the dealership does automated calls. REALLY? Bottom line I would stay away from the Jeff Schmidt stores at all costs. read more

My Daughter unfortunately ran a red light and totaled our 2007 Chrysler Town & Country. Jeff Schmitt and Charlie Stevens started out being very helpful with getting the paperwork I needed for the GAP insurance and such. And I was interested to start looking for another vehicle. But, basically told they couldn't help me without me coming up with a large amount of cash. When another dealership is able to get a loan through the former lender without a cash down payment. I feel that they didn't do what was necessary to try and make the deal. I felt after the paper work was done, I was shoved out the door and treated as a second class citizen. When another dealership is bending over backwards to help me put me into a new car. I feel if one dealership can do this why couldn't Jeff Schmitt? Especially with me being a former client? I would not recommend this dealership. The sales staff are pushy and quickly turn over. The corporation also contacts you repeatedly to make sure you had no other questions. The service department is good; however, make sure you inspect any loaner before you leave yourself. They make this seem like a formality, but it is needed to cover you. They will intensely inspect the vehicle when you return it and try to blame any damage on you. The return inspection is much more detailed than the check out, it's all in their favor. The lease turn in service they advertise is a joke even for a Chevy. After making an appointment, no one was ready to receive the vehicle. The sales person also offered no paperwork to prove the vehicle was returned or in what condition. Finally, they use the lease turn in as a method of drawing you in to try and make a sale. My process took longer than needed just so they had time to explain their specials. read more

I bought a 2010 Rav4 from this dealership at the end of February 2017. I pulled out onto the freeway right after purchasing, and found that it was pulling a little to the left, and had a bit of a vibration when I hit 80mph. I did not notice this during the test drive, where I had hit normal freeway speeds. I promptly turned around and dropped the vehicle back off to the dealership. If I were smarter, I'd have just left it there and forgot about it. A few days later I got a call that they fixed a caliper slide pin that was sticking, and did a 4 wheel alignment and took care of the problem. They offered me $200 off the agreed price, and for me to take it out on another test drive. The vehicle felt fine to me, so I took the deal. Fast forward a few months and almost 5000 miles later, I noticed that the front wheel bearings were starting to make some noise. When I took the car into the shop, I was told that 3 out of 4 of the caliper slide pins were sticking, and had been doing so for a while. Due to this, the heat caused the wheel bearings to wear out prematurely. I understand that I put a lot of miles on the vehicle since the time of purchase, but I'd expect that when they took care of the one caliper slide pin, they would have checked to be sure that the rest of them were greased properly. Now I've got an expensive repair on my hands as the dealership is telling me that the vehicle has been in my hands too long for them to take responsibility for the issue. Be wary of this dealership. I'd suggest looking elsewhere for your pre-owned vehicle. **Update** I spoke with both Matt and Jesse, the managers at your used car dealership. I also spoke with Jay Schmitt. They all advised me that they could offer me the cost of parts, and their cost of labor to repair the vehicle, which is $70/hr. There is no way I'm driving my car from Columbus to Dayton, to have a service center that apparently could not do the job properly in the first place, at a cost that I could have the issue taken care of at a more reputable mechanic closer to home. I'll never do business with this shady Car Dealership again. **Further Updated** - My ability to comment on their reviews on Facebook has been disabled after posting the above update to my initial facebook review. They said it was done ,my son sit by the window the whole time they had not even touched the tires or greased anything when questioned they fixed had to wait an extra hour so a total of 2 hours for oil change and tire rotation. Husband and I drove almost 2 hours to this dealership because we had seen 3 Chrysler Town & Countrys listed online with great pricing. The features list online wasn't very good, so we called to ask about remote start and window shades. Someone put us on hold, then told us the manager said those vans DID have those features so we made the long trip. When we arrived a sales associate immediately greeted us. We said we were looking for the Town & Countrys listed at $20,000 online that had remote start. He steered us toward a red model i had not seen online but we went on a test drive anyway. We liked the van but not the color/interior so we asked to see the other ones we had seen online. After being there a good 45 minutes he tells us he doesn't have those vehicles and that the one he had us test drive is listed at 23K+. So we went online to look and realized we had entered the wrong part of the lot! We were looking for Cadillac and this was Chevrolet. Although this is a shared lost, and each lot had 3 vans, with the exact same model, trim level, and mileage, the Chevrolet lot minivans were priced 3K higher than ones that were steps away in the Cadillac lot. ??? The sales associate had been very nice and offered to run some numbers for us but we knew our budget would be well over. Also, I had a trade in that even with the worst estimates online said it would be worth $2000 trade in... they offered 1000. Basically, we just really wanted to get out of there. I am giving 3 stars because the sales associate was nice, and our expectations were way off based on our budget, but he could have found that out within minutes and not wasted hours of our time. At least he could have directed us to the correct lot. We said we were looking for the $20,000 vans and he took us to a 23,000 van. We also told him our budget outright and after running the numbers he said "oh I assumed you were putting like 8K down to get to that kind of number". Why would you assume that? Also, we found a minivan on a Delaware lot, it was 18K, it had ALL the awesome options and gadgets we wanted, they gave us 2000 trade in, and came very close to our re-aligned budget. read more

I took my Chevy Equinox in today to get my seatbelt buckle repaired. I spoke with the service advisor the day before and I explained (repeatedly) that it was the piece attached to the seatbelt itself. At checkout my receipt indicated that a multi-point inspection had been completed, however, they fixed the part that was not broken- the part that the buckle snaps into! The receipt even states "replace seatbelt buckle"! I paid the $274 and left, but I immediately returned to the dealership to show them their error. I was told it my fault for telling the advisor the wrong part- the advisor thought I meant the part the the buckle goes into. The service manager told me that the part I should have gotten replaced would cost me over $700. They refused to refund my money saying they could not return a used part and told me I should have been more clear. I will never do business with Jeff Schmitt of Fairborn again and you should not either! I am in the process of reporting them to the Better Business Bureau of Dayton. I am also disputing the $274 charge with my bank. read more

Was greeted by a salesman and was ready to run but he was so nice I got to asking questions and he was so helpful. Long story short, Nathan Pence sold me a car. From the minute he introduced himself to the minute we left he was helpful, nice, knowledgeable, listened, funny, and most importantly not pushy!! He absolutely has made me look at car buying differently. If you are looking for a new car I definitely recommend you check out Jeff Schmitt, and ask for Nathan Pence even though the hundred times I walked in and out of the building I can tell you there wasn't an unfriendly face in there. They all seemed to be having fun and loving what they do. I recently bought a 2019 equinox. Great car and was what I expected. Salesman did a good job. My reason for 3 stars is me and my dad was there for 3 and a half hours. All I did was come into buy the car. Already knew which one. Just had to do paperwork. So we sat and waited for 3 hours at a table. They told us they where busier than they thought they would be forca rainy day. It was rainy when we was there in morning but only 2 customers us and another young man. Giving I had taken off work for other reasons not expecting to be there that long had to put off because of wait. Was very hungry. Missed lunch and my dad has medical issues that arnt major but was affected by that waited. Very disappointed. Then get to find out that the keyless entry button on driver door does not work. Service department lacks service. Took my 2010 Silverado in for a suspension noise, the technician test drove and checked the vehicle reporting there was no issue and the suspension was fine. Within 1000 miles it was determined the sway bar link was broken at the lower control arm. Called dealer to find out when I could bring it in and ended up talking to the service manager, Jim Brown, he stated the vehicle was fine when it was in previously and it must have happened since it left the service department. He didn't ask when I wanted to bring it back for the repair, just stated that it was fine when they had it and it must have occurred in between then and now. The vehicle is under extended warranty and should have been fixed the first time. This is a recurring issue with this dealer, we have had to take our vehicles back repeated times to get a single repair completed or get a new issue resolved that the dealer has created. They have failed to re-install parts before and left them laying loose in the floor board. They have left grease on the interior, spilled coffee on the seat. Continued lack of service and follow through. We will be going to a dealer 30 min away to avoid this issue in the future. You have lost a service and sales customer. read more

I went and got my new car here and traded my old 2002 audi a4 little did i know 6 months down the road i would get a paper from the city of dayton stating that my trade in was in the impound lot for a dui charge.i call the city and they tell me that i was the last person on the title thats why it was given to me. Jeff smitt never took my name off the title when they sold it to whoever and when i tried to contact them with this problem they were very rude about it. I went to Jeff Schmidt in Beavercreek 2 months ago I was financed with 500 down and received a call after having the car for a month that another 500 down was needed, so I wrote a check for 500 down they didn't try to cash it for a month and the money wasn't in there. I've now been told they will be calling the police and its a felony because I do not have 500 down to bring in there and pay.
