A very lovely evening at Jeffrey Adams on Fourth. Arrived just in time for our reservation and they immediately seated us. A friendly server brought us water and we were able to order drinks and appetizers. The restaurant on the ground floor was not large but it was very nice looking and modern. There is an upstairs that we didn't see. The waiting area is large which is nice because I imagine at time there is a wait. It is an upscale place though you saw a variety in patrons there. Anyway, we ordered the pot roast nachos and a cup of the soup du jour which came very quickly. Both were excellent and a great start to the meal. Someone decided to bring us bread that we didn't order which was nice. It was probably a good thing the server spilled the water at our table and gave us the bread for free since we didn't order it. again, anyway, the entrees came and they looked good. Seafood risotto was cooked well, not over done. And there was a lot of it. The fried chicken was also nicely cooked. Both were under seasoned and needed salt which is not my favorite when in a restaurant such as this. However, it is also understandable. Once we were done, our server informed us that they were treating us to dessert (because it was our anniversary) and brought us their warm brown with ice cream. It was delicious. We scraped the plate clean. It was a lovely meal and lovely evening.

Let me just start with our server - she was outstanding and was super accommodating for our large group. She was full of jokes, smiles, and recommendations for wine, etc. I ordered the Beef Tenderloin Risotto and the flavors were on par with what I expected. Sauce really pulled everything together. The House Salad was a great add on - solid ranch here. I'm a firm believer a salad is only as strong as its dressing and this was very good. Overall, a nice visit.

I hadn't been to Jeffrey Adams in years because, honestly, the food quality had declined from when I first started dining here. But their social media caught my attention recently, and I decided to give it another try. Unbeknownst to me, they switched to an à la carte menu within the last six weeks. We ordered the ribeye, chicken breast, mashed potatoes, and brussels sprouts. The chicken breast was flavorful, but at $23 for just one piece, the price doesn't quite match the portion or quality. My ribeye initially came out cold, but the bartender was quick to correct it. The food itself was tasty, but I can't say I'm embracing the new à la carte approach. When you know you can walk to nearby restaurants and get a full meal (sides included) for about the same price, it's hard to justify. On the positive side, I love that they offer mocktails. The restaurant was clean, and the service was excellent. If they're going to stick with the à la carte model, I think making the sides shareable would go a long way toward making guests feel like they're getting more value.

We brought some friends for dinner here on Saturday evening and it wasn't too crowded. Parking can be found on the street or in a garage a block away. We decided to bring a bottle of wine since we know our wines and restaurants mark up the cost by a lot, the corkage fee at the time of our visit was $15. Since they are known for the steak, I got the 14 oz ribeye and baked potato, plus started with the soup of the day (cup) the soup of the day, a creamy chorizo potato I should have gone for the bowl since the cup was too small and the soup too good. My steak was okay and I should have gotten it rare instead of medium. The potato was supposed to be "loaded", but it didn't seem to be anything extra and a bit on the tough side. My wife got the ahi tuna appetizer which I tried and it was excellent, with a slight tang of the Yuzu sauce they had on it, since I tried it I can write about it. One thing that was slightly off was the server didn't clear our appetizers and the other server assisting was putting the main plates on the table. That is kind of a no-no in my books and we also didn't have any steak knives for the steaks, me or my friend. I was hoping for a better overall experience but it was 4 stars.

Cozy steak house with friendly service. We brought some friends tonight and even brought our own wine for $15 corkage fee. My husband and our friends ordered ribeye and baked potato. My husband got the soup of the day which was a special chorizo potato creamy deliciousness. He regretted not getting the bowl for an extra $3, he said it was so good and their "cup" size is pretty dinky. We started off with a bread basket which came with warm butter. The rolls were warm and super soft. A little on the sweet side for me. I got the ahi tuna appetizer plate as an entree because I love ahi tuna and it was a big portion. It had pickled ginger and Asian slaw with wasabi dots. Perfect sear ! I loved it. The house salad is a good portion, healthy greens in it, and great dressing options to choose from. I got the herb vinaigrette. Only small complaint my husband and friends had was their big baked potato was not totally tender, a bit under done. Very surprising for a steak house. My husband ordered his steak medium but said it was a little tough too. So 4 stars.

Jeffrey Adams is a fine dining must-try. The secluded basement is ideal for an intimate small group or date. Beyond the great atmosphere, the food and service shine. My late order was handled with care, ensuring everything was perfect. The salmon and sides were excellent, but a special shout-out to the perfectly prepared broccolini! A classic meal topped off by the warm brownie--delicious from start to finish.

We came here on a Saturday as a party of 2. I had put in a reservation about an hour and half earlier online for 5:30. When we arrived, I realized that we did not need a reservation. The host took us to the second level to sit down. When our waitress arrived, she came with water which I appreciated. Then asked us if we wanted anything else to drink. I ordered the sweet tea and it was well made. For dinner, I ordered the burger and sweet potato fries. I had the tomato taken off and the pimento cheese on the side. When the food arrived, I ended up really liking the pimento cheese and added it the burger. I took off the lettuce as they were the yellow pieces and very limp. I would suggest fresher pieces of lettuce. The burger overall was yummy, especially the bacon and onions. The burger patty was cooked more on the well cooked side rather than medium. The sweet potato fries were great with the honey mustard. My husband ordered the 8oz filet with the Gouda Mac and cheese. His filet was cooked more medium, rather than medium. The filet tasted good and had good seasoning. He really enjoyed the mac and cheese. Overall, a pretty good experience.

The bride and I had Valentines dinner here, first time for us here. Got a reservation at 5, arrived a little early. Thought we might have to wait a few minutes, but were seated immediately. The service was very attentive, explained the specials. We had the bread basket as an appetizer which was nice as it had 4 different breads and a really good butter. The Mrs chose grouper with sweet potatoes and I had the filet with a baked potato & rice. She said everything she had was fantastic, and mine was very good as well. While my filet was not the best cut I've ever had, but the seasoning & sear of it made up for it. The potato was huge, the rice was not a favorite. But after eating the steak and potato, I didn't mind. Overall it was a great experience and we would definitely go back!

Food was good but pricey and the service was okay... the seafood risotto was full of flavor but was almost overwhelmingly fishy and it was A LOT of food. Too much in my opinion. It should have been offered as a smaller dish, maybe as a side or appetizer, but it wasn't my favorite as a 'meal'... husband enjoyed his steak and lobster. Caesar salad was amazing. The fried artichoke was different but a nice addition. I didn't get a picture of the bread, but we ordered the bread and butter appetizer and it was awesome tasting all the different types of bread. We probably won't go back but it was a neat one time experience.

Jeffrey Adam's is definitely one of my go to's for a nice dinner. The service here is top notch as well as the food! While eating here, enjoy a nice view of the downtown streets and have a drink from the bar. They have a nice bourbon selection to choose from. The Land and Sea has been my go to dish as it has always been spot on and steak cooked to perfection!

Finally had a chance to check out Jeffrey Adams on Fourth and it was great! My friend and I made reservations for a Saturday evening but decided to sit at the bar. It was laidback and our bartender was wonderful. We each had a cocktail as recommended by the bartender (I believe his creation) and it was tasty! For dinner, we split the Smoked Bacon and Crab dip which was divine! I ordered the Seafood Risotto and my friend the Grouper. The portions are large and every bite I had was delicious. I highly recommend Jeffrey Adams and excited to go back to try more dishes soon!

A group of my girlfriends and I went for an early dinner this past week and the service was a 12/10. The apps were delicious, my favorite being the ahi tuna and the mushroom and artichoke dip. I got the steak and got Mac and Brussels. The steak was a bit tough but the sides were delicious. My friends drinks were unique and beautiful but I can't speak on the flavor. We got the brownie sundae to share and it was incredible. I wanna try the chocolate crème brûlée next but I'll just have to get both!

When we first walked in, it was busy and we heard the hostess tell the couple in front of us they would need to wait over an hour for a table - Lucky for me my wife made reservations and we were seated immediately! It was a bit on the noisy side but not so bad we couldn't have a conversation. Our servers, Thomas, was fantastic start to finish with good recommendations, attentive service without being overbearing, and a great personality. Good staff make a business shine! We started with glasses of wine and were impressed with how generous they poured. Perhaps it was a visual illusion, but they felt like very large glasses of wine and made it feel like a very good value. They have a good selection of wines to choose from along with a full bar. Appetizer was the Crab Cake Egg Rolls, something I don't think I've seen anywhere else. They're cooked in Beef Tallow which gave a very savory flavor and crispy texture. They were a bit on the oily side but overall flavor was delicious, and I really liked the dipping sauce which was like a very herb-heavy tartar sauce. For entrees, my wife had the Filet and I had a New York Strip. I don't have the words to describe how delicious and perfectly prepared both of these were. I didn't even bother asking for steak sauce because the perfectly tender and seasoned steak didn't need it. Nobody wants to pay high prices for a steak and receive something low quality, and I was thrilled with the quality of the steaks here. Surrounding tables likewise had great looking meals and I overheard them voicing pleasure too. As sides go, the baked potatoes and salads were excellent too. I got the hot bacon vinegarette dressing and was surprised it was actually served quite hot. It had a really rich and slightly tangy flavor that was unique and I really enjoyed on my salad. I have no complaints here and will absolutely be back. Of course it's on the pricey end, but this is the type of establishment you reserve for a special night out, not your average Tuesday night. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed!

Their escargot is great and I'd highly recommend it if you're open to it, and their mussels appetizer is absolutely bursting with flavor. Personally I'd recommend asking for a few extra pieces of bread with it. It's a higher end restaurant and I feel because of its association with the hotel it tends to skew a slightly more professional/business clientele and vibe but overall I think you get a pretty decent mix of people here. On my most recent visit I was told their valet service is for restaurant customers too which is pretty awesome, so if you come down when there's a huge concert going on at the park or something you don't have to walk 20 minutes to and from your parking spot. Overall I'd highly recommend it as a default "can't go wrong" pick for a nice night out.

Welcome to the next installment of the quarterly bonus dinner series. After receiving excellent…read morerecommendations from the renowned Meena P, my group decided to switch it up and venture to Winston-Salem for dinner. OpenTable made dinner reservations a breeze as we were easily able to snag a table for 6 at 7:30pm a week in advance. With The Katharine being downtown, parking can sometimes be a challenge. The menfolk were gentlemanly enough to drop the ladies off at the door and park the car themselves. After our group was fully assembled, we were seated promptly. I'm not drinking at the moment, so I sadly wasn't able to partake in the craft cocktails The Katharine is known for. However, I did enjoy an alcohol alternative, Evergreen N/A (seedlip, thyme lavender syrup, lemon juice, soda water). It was a nice, light, citrusy beverage. We also shared some appetizers together. We ordered the Oeuf Mimosa (deviled egg, caviar, microgreens), Escargot á la Bourguogne (garlic herb butter, cognac, red wine reduction, puff pastry), Roquette Salade (baby arugula, baby kale, shaved parmesan, toasted pine nuts, lemon vinaigrette, balsamic reduction, cracked pepper), and Gratinèe Soupe à l'Oignon (croute, aged gruyere, chive). The deviled eggs were delicious as expected, which was no surprise, as they are known for them. I would have liked to know that the order only came with 4 egg halves since we had a group of 6. We would've ordered two if we had known, since they're not the easiest things to split. It was also funny to see the table "fighting" over eating every last pine nut on the salad plate. For our entrees, everyone at the table tried to order something different from the menu so we could fully experience it. We were mostly successful, as the only repeat was the Boeuf Bourguignon (braised beef short rib, cipollini onion, wild mushroom, brussels sprout leaves, pomme puree, red wine sauce). The Bourguignon had a nice sweetness to the sauce that balanced the dish's saltiness. I ordered the Saumon et Gruau de Mais (seared salmon, stone ground grits, smoked garlic buttermilk sauce, black lemon, chervil, chili oil). The salmon crust was so flavorful and well seasoned, and the grits were voted the best side by the table for being nice and creamy without being too heavy. Other entrees that were ordered included Truite Meuniere (North Carolina trout, haricot verts, parsnips, chili-almond crunch, brown butter, lemon), Steak Frites (8 oz Brasstown Farms flat iron steak, truffled parmesan pomme frites, beurre de fete), and Steak au Poivre (12 oz pepper crusted NY strip steak, sauce au poivre, pomme puree, brussels sprouts). Both of the steaks were cooked beautifully. Playing musical chairs with each other's food was probably my favorite part of the night. I highly recommend doing this with your friends! Last but certainly not least, we decided to share some desserts to round out the evening. We ordered the Bittersweet Chocolate Pot de Crème (dark chocolate, torched marshmallow meringue, toasted graham crumb, chocolate ganache), Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee (organic Tahitian vanilla bean custard with burnt sugar), and Banana Pain Perdu (croissant bread pudding, caramelized banana, vanilla bean ice cream, banana chips, salted rum caramel). All of the desserts were stunning, and the banana bread pudding was my personal favorite. The rest of the table was fighting over the pot de crème. The Katharine was spectacular and delivered on everything I hoped for in a nice dinner with good friends. I definitely recommend checking it out!
