Having passed by here for years and never dining, we finally made the trip to dine at Olympic Family Restaurant. If you want a no frills, family dining experience, this place is for you. We went on a Friday night and despite having a full parking lot, there were many empty tables inside. This place can hold a crowd of people. With a mixture of tables and booths, they can accommodate groups of all sizes. The bathrooms are in the far right corner of the restaurant, and you pay at the central cash register once you get your bill. It was rather chilly inside, so bring a jacket if you're cold natured like my crew. All of their drinks come from a soda machine, including the tea, so be aware if you're used to the fresh brewed kind - you'll want to stick to a different beverage. We got the chicken fingers, popcorn shrimp, open faced roast beef with fries, and a salad. The popcorn, shrimp and chicken fingers were good. We requested additional gravy for the open faced roast beef, and the waitress promptly brought to additional bowls, because she knew that the bowls are shallow and one would not be enough. The salad was good, and they had many different dressing options to choose from. Now that we have experienced the Olympic Family Restaurant, we will place it on our list of restaurants to consider in the future if we are in the area. read more

We came here for lunch I got a coffee and a deluxe tuna sandwich which came with two sides. I loved the fried squash. The cabbage was spicy which I loved. The coffee was good. I used to love this place however it is very expensive. I ordered a ham and cheese sandwich and it literally had enough meat and cheese for about four sandwiches. I definitely got enough fries for another four people. Threw most of this food away but was charged $16.00 for a sandwich, fries and water! Olympic is so close to my office and I often visit here for a quick takeout lunch. The menu has a wide variety of southern fare, Greek food, standard american, but they also serve breakfast. The prices are beyond reasonable and the portions large, but you get what you pay for. I love this place for the array of vegetables. I try to take a healthy route for my lunches, so the vegetable plates are the way to go. Like most restaurants like these, don't expect a lot of flavor, but sometimes it's nice to just have the food with no frills. I do also order the chicken souvlaki. It's tasty but served on a hamburger bun? Not sure why, and I leave it on the plate, but that's okay. The owner is a blonde, tattooed Greek gentleman with a large personality and booming Greek accent. He really adds to the flair of this restaurant. I've had quite a few conversations through the drive through with him and he always makes me laugh. They do have a drive through, but you call ahead and pick it up. I take a large group(10+) here about every 3 months, and have for the last 11 years and it has always been quick, accommodating(without reservations), and the food is always hot and delicious. Most of the morning servers have been working here longer than the 11 years we have been going, and they do such a great job and are so friendly! Our waitress and her help were fantastic. There are so many options on the menu giving everyone a great meal choice. The food was delicious. They have great daily specials as well of a seniors menu. My party and I tried Olympic Family Restaurant for the first time last night, and we found the atmosphere, service, and menu selection to be wonderful! We were promptly greeted, and tables were quickly joined to accommodate the 7 of us comfortably. Our server was attentive, answering many questions and attending to our needs with great attention. The food selection was incredible, and reasonably priced. Our group enjoyed burgers, flounder, fettuccini Alfredo, and baked spaghetti. The portions were enormous, and the food was served hot and delicious! Moreover, the restaurant and bathrooms were very clean and neat. Bonus: local uniformed police officers came in to eat while we were there, which confirmed my confidence in Olympic (cops usually only eat where disturbances are unlikely, and the kitchen staff is trustworthy). Check your bank charge. Food is ok. There are items on the menu i would say absolutely not to, for example, the cold cut sub. Horrible. Avoid subs. One visit there were ants all over the window and table we were seated at. Another visit we were charged twice. They refunded. Another, final visit, we left a 7.00 tip and they put it in as 70.00. They refunded but took 3 days. I fear for those that do not check bank charges often. read more

They offer daily specials which are really great deals! On their menu you can find traditional diner favorites and sandwiches as well as salads and Italian dishes. Another day when breakfast sounded good for an early lunch, this solid diner was on our route, and it was early so the customer presence was light. You seat yourself here, and frankly I really like that - I want to pick where I'll sit, or maybe more importantly, I want to pick where I don't want to sit - beside the family from hell, near the loud talker, near the ahole on the phone during his entire meal, or his kin who leaves the text arrival sound on! The service was exceptional - drinks ordered and delivered quickly, food ordered, and it was out of the kitchen in just over FIVE minutes - everything perfectly done. Alice chose pancakes (no surprise there), a rasher of bacon, and a single, soft scrambled egg - delivered intact, and as ordered. I went with 2 eggs over medium ( I want the yellow runny, but I don't want to see movement in the white), link sausage, home fries, grits, and toast - again, tabled as ordered. The eggs were perfect, and the link sausage was as flavorful as you could want. The Homes Fries here are special, much like those at Cagney's. Here they start with a Baked Potato, then cube it, and then crust it up on the grill - perfect! The only down side is they use that "not even close to butter soft spread stuff", and it really detracts from the grits, and fails on pancakes. But, all in all, a very nice breakfast meal. read more
