I am an…read moreAirline Pilot with over 37 years of airline experience and require an eye test due to occasional elevated eye pressure, termed "Pre-Glaucoma". The FAA requires pilots have a physical exam at prescribed intervals based on the type of pilot certification held. Because I am a Captain for a major airline, it has to be every six months. Once a year I have to provide test results based on the prescribed elements of my medical certification. Every year, Dr. Murthy puts me at ease with his wonderful bedside manner and his own personal knowledge of the system since he is an advanced pilot himself with actual jet experience. Thanks to his very thorough care and excellent staff, I have satisfied the FAA with flying colors on my tests. I take one eye drop at night based on his orders and it is doing the trick! My pressures are well within the FAA's guidelines along with my field of vision tests. I was so impressed with his care that I sent my wife to him and he put her at ease regarding her concerns about her vision after a thorough exam. Salute to Dr. Murthy and a Bravo Zulu as well@!

Dr. Murthy discovered something that two other retina specialists had not mentioned to me. I understand why one of them might not have, as he performed my vitrectomy pars plana surgery. I was unaware that a layer had been left behind during the surgery. Recently, I noticed a very unusual brownish floater. Fortunately, whatever was obstructing my vision disappeared the following day. Given that my surgeon did not remove that particular layer, there is a possibility of a detachment. I am now contemplating whether this was intentionally overlooked, potentially necessitating another surgical procedure. I am very grateful that Dr. Murthy came highly recommended by my husband's best friend.

The staff that is in the main lobby is attentive and helpful when you first enter for an appointment. I have had eye problems and they've always assisted me in making sure that I was checked in properly. Identification, Medicare, and insurance are asked for at the beginning of your appointment. I've always found it helpful to arrive early for an appointment to make sure that there is time to adequately fill out new paperwork. I was able to find a chair to wait to be called in to an office to check my eyes and update my medications. I then waited in another waiting room for specific tests needed to be administered before I saw the doctor. There is an interior waiting room available to wait to be called to the doctor. The doctor that I visited was Dr Chu. He came in and went over the charts and examination results with me. I was impressed by his thorough concise report. When we were finished, he set up the next appointment. All in all, it took about a little more than an hour for the entire appointment. There was quite a waiting list so I understand having to wait for some appointments. There is parking available for this office on the side streets as well as underground parking. Parking is not free. But is usually available in the parking garage underneath. This office exceeded my expectations. I expect my next visit to be as productive as this one.

I understand that my left eye, however They kept modifying the eyeglass machine, and I still couldn't see clearly I said is there anything else wrong with my eye why can't I see this and they're like well you've got a little bit of a cataract and they didn't mention anything about it other than that so I buy my second pair of $500 glasses And they don't even put a corrective lens in the left side so I'm trying to figure out why I'm getting dizzy while driving so I go back and the guy is like oh yeah we didn't put the corrective lens on that side because you can't see through your left eye anyway I'm like I can see. Can you balance it out at least put the same prescription oh sure so they did that however, they never put it in the eye test machine to test my vision so now I get my rebuilt pair of $500 glasses and now I'm trying to figure out why I see double in my left eye because they copied the stigmatism correction in the left eye which I did not need so I'm not going back to these people I'm diabetic so my eye care is somewhat paid for with the Insurance so I went to Eye Associates of Orange County and there I learned I had very bad cataracts in my left eye and it was actually causing the stigmatism in my right eye with the double vision so I got cataract surgery and I got the light adjustable lenses and I have gone through my first adjustment treatment last week and I'm seeing excellent no more $500 glasses for me
