Don't use Jeff's Cab. We called Jeff/s cab to take us from our weekend home on the Island to the Carnival Cruise Terminal for our 30th Anniversary Cruise. Don't call Jeff's Cab - someone shows up with a different Taxi name - Busy Bee Taxi service. Got a story about a "Legal Issue" against Jeff's as the reason for the different name. We paid more for a ONE WAY to the cruise terminal than we paid for ROUND TRIP from another cab company. Would not deliver us to inside the Cruise Terminal (not a taxi fault, the Port is charging all cab companies to enter) so we had to walk with 4 bags to the ship. Would not have taken this if we had been notified would not go all the way to the ship. read more

Do not rely on this service, they will unapologetically leave you stranded in the heat and you'll miss your fight or boat. We had them transport us from our car rental company to our cruise ship and it was mostly fine. When I called for the pick up they accepted the fair and said they'd be on their way. When I asked for a time estimate for their arrival the driver said, "I have to find the cars for you, we'll be there". He gave me no idea of when they would arrive, but did end up arriving in about 15 minutes. As we were on our way to the ship he offered to schedule our pick up for our return and we accepted. He gave us very specific instructions on how to communicate with him when we return and what needed to be done. He asked that we text him when we were in the passenger porter line and then again when we were off the ship and confirmed that he would have a van waiting. He even texted us pictures of the van he would send. We arranged to meet him outside the boat at 8 and followed his instructions perfectly without a response. We messaged him 5 times over the course of an hour and a half and he never responded. Finally my husband called to find out where we were to meet them and why they hadn't responded. The gentleman who answered the phone said he'd send a car, but they hadn't even left yet. This was 40 minutes past our reservation and they hadn't even left yet. We stood in the Texan heat for nearly an hour and then had to wander around the port in the heat with all of our luggage to secure new transportation. Don't let this happen to you! read more

First off this taxi company is stuck a few decades behind as they are not able to accept card payment. Lucky for them we didn't have time to wait for a Lyft as their rate far exceeded lyfts rate. The cab smelled like wnoke, not to mention the fact that the driver did not advise of the cash-only policy until we were well on our way - *conveniently* advising of a nearby gas station ATM. What a con! I would not recommend Jeff's to anyone in the Galveston area. This brand is proof of why ride-sharing services are putting taxi companies out of business. read more

I recently used Jeff's cabs after a real mess at the cruise port b/c of an oil spill. It was less than a pleasant experience. I never expected to get a call from Jeff himself, after I got home. He didn't try to sugarcoat the problem and even had suggestions for the entire port of Galveston to get together to solve transportation problems during extraordinary circumstances. He was extremely polite, listened to my views, gave me his opinion on the situation. I've had even worse issues w/ Yellow Cab in the past and they didn't seem to care at all that their driver was rude (and took off w/ my luggage for almost 3 hours). Jeff, on the other hand wanted to get to the bottom of the situation and was prepared to do what he could to improve service. Next time I need a cab in Galveston, I will call Jeff's cabs directly. I just tried to call Jeff's Cab to get a van to take 8 people from one location on the island to another location on the island. I asked the dispatcher if the van could pick me up at 5:30 PM. I was told by the dispatcher that they could not make reservations on a busy weekend (Mardi Gras) that I would have to call back when I was ready. I asked if they could not make a reservation then could they send the van now and I was told that it was off the island and would not be back until 5 PM. So I told her that was fine it would be perfect timing and to go ahead and send it to us. She said that she could not make a reservation and that I would have to call back at 5 to get the van! I tried to explain that I was not making a reservation that I wanted it now and obviously it would not be available until 5 PM and I was fine with that. She responded that she could not make a reservation and that I would have to call back at 5 PM. I asked to speak with her supervisor and was told that her supervisor was not there. I asked for her name and she said "I am the dispatcher". I said if you will not give me your name what is your dispatcher number and she stated that she did not have one. I don't think this was friendly service at all. I hung up the phone and called Yellow Cab. The dispatcher I spoke with at Yellow Cab was VERY polite and accommodating. She said it was perfectly fine for me to make a reservation for a specific time and that the cab driver would call me ahead of time to let me know that they were on their way. I explained that I tried to call her first and the phone just rang and rang. She stated that he was the only dispatcher for Galveston and appreciated that I called back and got through to her. In my opinion that is the kind of service you should give your customers. I plan to call Jeff's Cab this coming week to speak with a supervisor and explain what occurred. I will make sure to post the response I receive. As for now Yellow Cab will be the only cab company that I use on the island. read more

I called with questions in advance of an upcoming trip and was extremely impressed with Jeff. In spite of me calling quite late at night he was cheerful, polite and respectful. He was very helpful in chosing the right hotel for our stay and coordinating our transportation from the airport into Galveston and on to the Cruise ship the next day. He was a wealth of information for the area with clear hometown pride. Been waiting 50 minutes and counting for a cab that was supposed to be at my house in less than 15 I did call by the way and the only response I got was that they didn't know what was talking so long. I did not get the number mixed up, and I usually call tropical taxi but they didn't have availability in over 30 min, so I chose this company because they told me 15 min. My wife and I had dinner reservations for 6:00 on our anniversary and called Jeff's at 4:30 and asked for a taxi to pick us up at 5:30. We were told they would be there. At 5:45 we called back because no one showed and were told they don't have anyone to send it was shift change. This was hands-down the worst cab experience we have ever had. My two friends and I got picked up by Israel on The Strand. We weren't falling-all-over-ourselves-drunk, but we had been drinking and just wanted a safe ride back to the hotel. My friend has a habit of using curse words in his every day vocabulary, and doesn't think anything of it. He said, "Hey man, can you roll down the f*cking window?" When he used the F-word, Israel pulled the cab over and turned back to face him and yelled, "What did you say to me?" Eddie repeated what he said because in his eyes, he didn't see anything wrong with it. Israel went off on a rant about how "This is my house, you don't curse in my house" and "God sees you cursing and He doesn't like it" while the meter continued to run. Finally, he starts moving again and Eddie starts asking me what he did wrong. Israel gets on the phone and starts acting like he's calling the cops. Whether or not he really did, I'm not sure, but it was uncalled for. He started saying, "Yes, I'd like to report this. I have customers in my cab who are acting very weird..." Honestly, I don't know who he was expecting to get, but if you pick up people off The Strand after midnight on the first Friday night of Spring Break, they're probably going to be inebriated. When he started acting like he was calling the cops, we told him to leave us where we were. He dropped us off almost 3 miles from the hotel and we walked back. When I called the dispatcher to complain, he laughed at my situation and hung up the phone. Jeff picked me up early one night from my parents house in Galvestion. I was traveling and Jeff could see that my Mom and I love each other very much as we hugged good-bye. After Jeff dropped me off at the airport he went out of his way to call my mom to let her know I had made it to the airport safely. He knows what it's like to be a parent. This was so special to my mom that she now uses Jeff's cabs frequently. Jeff is a pro and also a very kind person. When no one else was willing or able to take my Girlfriend and I to the airport, he could. We made our flight on time due to this service when we would of missed it if spent looking for a service. They were ready to pick me the moment I called and only took a moment to get to our hotel. The ride was nice and we talked a majority of the time about life experiences and the driver even shared some personal life experiences and advice for us considering we are young (19 and 20). I will definitely recommend this service to anyone in the Galveston or Houston area. Other reviews stating negatives are just bad experiences. Rarely do people post good experiences and go out of their way like I do. So most you read are negative. So take a moment to consider this review and give them a call. We have used Jeff's Cab & Shuttle Service two times with our transportation to and from Galveston from Hobby Airport when taking my family out on a cruise. Jeff's Cabs is absolutely the best and extremely reliable. Communication is key with Jeff which is something that is very much appreciated. You may talk with him numerous times before your scheduled ride but it definitely put me at ease with a family of five. His vans are always very clean which is also a very nice experience. Whenever you are looking to get transportation to Galveston, don't think twice about using Jeff's Cab's service. Total scam! I was not charged according to what was posted on the car window. I was charged simultaneously for both time and mileage and had over a $40 bill for less than 6 miles. The driver took back streets with stop signs. I would have gotten out but I was by myself and didn't know where I was. Do yourself a favor and use Uber. read more

While my family was on the Island for a short weekend trip, we decided to leave our vehicle parked at our hotel and use cab service instead of driving to our evening's destination. We contacted 3 other taxi services in Galveston, trying to get from our small hotel to our cruise ship. One wouldn't schedule a pickup ahead of time, and told us to call when we wanted them. They didn't answer their phone later. Yellow Taxi said an hour and a half wait, but never showed up, even after another call. Yet another service didn't answer their phone. Neither one has been answered. If a company is not going to answer the message options on their web site then don't provide that option. I tried to call once and the phone was busy. Great experience with Jeff's cab service. They picked us up on time at Sea Isle for NYE and dropped us off at the strand. They then said they would pick us up when we wanted to take us back home. Driver was kind enough to store our number so we could call him to make sure he was en route to pick us back up. He was prompt picking us back up at the strand and was very nice.
