The first driver picked us up and proceeded to drive us all the way from Tremont house to the Sea Wall area, which was completely packed with people. He obviously wanted a bigger fare, ripping us off by taking us as as out of the way as possible to our destination. In addition, he was talking on the phone practically the whole time on personal business with his bank. Super unprofessional. Once we were done at the festival, we were very apprehensive to call for a return taxi since we already had a terrible experience with the first one. However, because of the horrible decision by the city of Galveston to not allow Uber or Lyft, we were stuck with a horrible company with terrible service yet again. The new driver to our surprise only accepted cash (we had already waiting over 30 minutes in the freezing cold for this taxi). The dispatcher should've asked us about our pay preference. Another fail. Fortunately, I had one last $20 bill in my wallet. Unfortunately, the smell inside the cab was nearly unbearable. It smelled like stale old food and body odor. Thankfully, a helpful driver from the 10am shuttle tried to assist by contacting the company to bring the original driver back, but it took over an hour for the shuttle to return--right in the middle of peak traffic. This caused unnecessary stress and put several families at risk of missing their flights. This experience was incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. We will not be using this shuttle service again and would strongly advise others to look for a more reliable option.
