We came to Jekyll Island Brewing to have dinner for my birthday...I'd been wanting to check it out. The juice flight was delicious and I was excited to try the rest. The excitement ended there. We ordered the crab dip for an app and it was salty and flavorless. A few other things I ordered they didn't have so I ordered ended up getting the Bibb wedge salad and chowder. The chowder was probably the worst I've ever had. Completely flavorless. The wedge salad had rotting lettuce and tomatoes. I couldn't eat it. My daughter's French fries were also wilted and cold. Overall it was a big disappointment. 2 stars for cute atmosphere and good drinks. I'd come back for a drink, but eat dinner elsewhere. read more

I was staying in the area and had worked late on a Sunday. Needed dinner and wanted to watch some football. Around 9:30, I stopped 2 other places before I circled around to Jekyll. There are 2 floors, but I stopped on the first floor just to be sure food was served. Little bit of confusion, but was treated very nicely, ordered some dinner and had a tasty IPA. Food took a bit, but the follow up was so charming! Chef came out and we had a fun discussion over the value of Fish and Chips (my dinner and a Catholic girl favorite). His were amazing. Staff was so so nice. Unlike the other 2 places I visited with "we are closing soon!", Jekyll was "come in! sit down!" I'll definitely be back when it's not so late in the day to see what the staff is like during "normal" hours! Well done! read more

This place is terrible. The service is terrible. Their wifi doesn't work, and the food tastes awful.

Nice building inside with 2 floors. Cool airstream bar upstairs, lots of beers. We tried both the Wits, good, app we had were Crab dip-kinda dry, good with the bread, saltines made it even drier. Fried pickles were dismal. My wife got the fried chicken sandwich with pimento, came warm. I got the Jerk Chicken, warm like it and been sitting. Even my wife said the chicken looks dry. Daughter got the 2 shrimp subs, she said it was good. Service and employees seemed more into talking to each other than taking care of the few customers that were there. read more

Jekyll brewing is an awesome brewery with much more than just beer available. The food was fantastic, they have a cool upstairs are and the staff were beyond awesome. I planned on stopping in for a couple beers but ended up staying for hours just talking to friendly staff and locals. Tyler and Faith were super awesome and made my visit to Jax beach so much more enjoyable. Will definitely be back next time I'm in town! read more

The food is good. The servers are very nice and friendly. The place looks nice. HOWEVER. This place has no business charging what they do for drinks. The food and drinks are outrageously priced. There is happy hour but it's not advertised.. 5-7pm Monday-Thursday if you're wondering. Doesn't seem to ever be anyone in the restaurant, I'm sure there'd be more traffic if this was advertised. No one wants to pay $14 on a drink that's $4 down the street. read more

24 bucks for a small grilled chicken sandwich substituted with small side salad. To an add more salt to it they charge .50$ for mustard. With tip 28 bucks. Can get this same and better at Chick-fil-A for less than 10 bucks! Restaurant was empty too and service still slow. Go elsewhere. read more

So disappointing. The service was awful. I had to get up and take menus from the empty hostess stand (upstairs). Our appetizer came out, burnt, when we were finished with our meal, and only then because we reminded our server. The server disappeared for most of the meal. The only way I got another drink was because I went to the bar and ordered it. The food was fine, not fabulous, but would maybe have felt better had the service not been so poor. Great food, beer, and views of the ocean from the upstairs patio. But the best thing was the staff. From the moment we walked in, everyone we pasted smiled and genuinely welcomed us. If you coming late to eat...don't I could've got better tacos at Taco Bell and better fries from Taco Bell also...we came 45 mins before the kitchen closed which we thought the place closed at 2 but apparently it's 12. But that is no excuse to serve SUB par food and still charge me the same price...with all that being said if you want to come for some beer I would definitely recommend. As a Jax native- I'm excited about this new restaurant. My husband and I dropped in on a whim and I'm so glad we got to experience it. The staff was extremely friendly and even though it was crowded- they were attentive and recommended the upstairs bar. Jo and Heather took care of us and highlighted a few beer and food selections. My husband ordered the flight and we shared the Low Country Crab dip. It was amazing! This place has it all- friendly staff, great beer and food options and the ambiance can not be beat. Pleasantly surprised to find this gem! In town for the Gator Bowl and we always have low expectations for food/drink near a beach. This restaurant is top notch for a brewery! We ate there with our kids (12, 11, and 8). Everyone loved the ambiance, the food, the beer and the craft cocktails. The service was great. I'm pretty sure the ranch was made in house as it was delicious. Long story short, check this place out if you are in the area. You won't regret it! read more

What an awful experience! We were seated and no one came to our table to even take a drink order for 25 mins so we grabbed the attention of someone who sent a waitress over. We finally placed our order, our drinks arrived after sitting for 50 mins! Two tables that came after us received their food before us (party of 4). They forgot one of our drinks. After 65 mins our food arrived, cold chicken and cold French fries. No manager around to speak with to let them know of our experience. Was our first time visiting and it will be our last! read more

Absolutely terrible service. Three hosts gathered at the front but one waiter for six tables. Our waiter would visit one table, then head to the kitchen for 10 minutes before repeating the process with each individual table. He never got our drink order, we said we were still looking at the beer menu but ordered an appetizer. A hostess brought out the pretzel and we never saw the wait come back to us in 40 minutes. First time visiting. Great atmosphere near the beach. Our waiter Corey was attentive and friendly. Did a flight of beers and enjoyed them all. The wedge salad and crab dip were great. Attention to detail was evident. Small touch, but they toasted and seasoned the saltines, which made them extra yummy and crisp to go with the crab dip. The beer was great but the food sucked. They sprinkle some orange crap all over the food. The wait staff forgot silverware, didn't bring the chowder until the entrees were ready and really seemed to be confused. Also, the place was empty so there was no excuse for all the shortcomings. Service was lacking for a Friday night some of the waitstaff for the patio hadn't shown up yet. Beer was fine, good selection of styles and prices are fine. Food will not bring me back, below average for the price. Fish and chips soggy fries, fish was average coleslaw horrible. Brewers burger mostly a portabella cap that was under cooked with none of the bacon jam to be found. Fries soggy as well... maybe return for the patio and the beer but won't order the food.. read more

Had apps and dinner last night. First time. First impression- busy but not overcrowded. High ceiling add to atmosphere and keep the noice level down. Sat in booth. Service was quick and friendly. Wendy was knowledgeable and helpful with suggestions. Good crab dip and gator bite appetizers Shrimp roll was tasty and fresh. Wendy came back and checked on us several times to make sure we were ok. (She had a big smile every time she came to table, can't teach that.). I would definitely try it again, and next time we will try huge roof deck. read more
