My family and I came here for the first time, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience from start to finish. We waited over 30 minutes just to be seated, and once we finally got our table, it still took a long time for someone to take our order and even longer for our food to arrive. I do want to recognize our waitress--she was wonderful, friendly, and attentive despite the delays. She was the best part of our visit. The menu also didn't offer many options for people with seafood allergies. I ordered the fish and chips with a side salad, but I only ate two small pieces of the fish because it was extremely greasy. The most concerning part was what happened after we left. Within about 30 minutes, everyone in our party--despite ordering completely different meals--became very sick. That completely overshadowed the entire experience and left us feeling very uneasy about the food. She came up and asked "ARE YOU DONE" while half of my entree was still there. We tried some of all things corn nuggets, pork rinds and fish dip, gator bites, gumbo the grilled catch, and the pizza. Standout were the pork rinds and the gator. We were leaving Little Talbot Beach and wanted to get some lunch on the way home. We spotted this place and decided to give it a shot. The visit did not start off well. We were sat at a table, and the restaurant was having a little bit of a lunch rush, but it wasn't insanely busy. But we must have been at the invisible table, because every server we saw passed by us at least twice. Spoke to the tables on either side of us, and not even so much as "we'll be with you in a minute" type acknowledgment for us. It was wild. After somewhere in the 12-15 minute range we decided to leave. On our way out though, we did spot a couple seats at the bar and decided to give that a shot. Here, we were immediately greeted, given menus and waters, and shortly had our orders taken (we had already decided what we wanted while we were waiting). I had the island burger with fried shrimp on it and wasn't super impressed. The fries and the fried shrimp tasted like grease and not much of anything else. The burger itself was decent, but nothing to rave about really. My friend had shrimp and grits with similar results... fine but nothing exciting. She did enjoy her food, but it wasn't anything special. She did like her Miami Vice drink though. Probably the best item of the visit. The bartenders were lovely people and did somewhat make up for a visit that started out poorly. We went to dinner here on July 3rd and had a mixed experience. Here's what happened. My wife wanted to get her dad out of the house who is staying with us right now because of a broken foot. So we're caring for him. She called the restaurant earlier in the day to make reservations for a party at five and to include accommodations for a wheelchair and to sit outside. When we arrived, they didn't seem to have any idea about our reservation. My sister-in-law talked to reception desk and eventually they found us a table which was on the deck near the entrance next to the sheltered area. As it turned out, it was a nice place to sit because the building provided some shade, and there was a good breeze blowing, and the weather was pleasant and we could hear the live music playing, which is fairly close to us our waitress Nova did her best to accommodate us and was quite friendly and checked on us often. Several of us got the two item platter and she recommended to me some choices for fish and I ended up getting the trigger fish which I've never had before. My sister-in-law and I both got trigger fish and both enjoyed it. My sister-in-law felt the hush puppies were too greasy. I didn't mind them. One problem was that my father-in-law and my wife both got coleslaw and my father-in-law felt it tasted awful and my wife thought it tasted off and had her sister try it and she thought it tasted off as well so we told Nova about it. I felt it shouldn't be served and whatever batch they have should be thrown out so no one would get sick. Other than that, I would still recommend them for a seafood restaurant. We got some pork rinds and wings as apps to share for the table. Since there were 10 wings and 5 of us, we all got 2 wings. We opted for just plain wings so it would be agreeable for everyone. They were good. The pork rinds were also good, and a generous portion. They were large pieces. So, I recommend to Palms Fish Camp: Please take reservations more seriously and have better communication between shifts/staff. Also, please ensure your side dishes are made fresh and don't serve items that have gone bad. When in doubt, throw it out. I don't like food waste but that's better than risking people's health. The atmosphere here was awesome. Relaxed, waterfront, and exactly the kind of spot you want when you just want to unwind and enjoy some good food. Everything we ordered tasted amazing and incredibly fresh. Our server was the real highlight. She actually sat down with us for a minute and walked us through the menu like we were regulars. That kind of service is rare and it made the whole experience feel personal. They even surprised us with a free fish dip and it absolutely blew my mind. One of the best I have ever had. The oysters were fresh and cold just how I like them. They could have rinsed them a little better and cut underneath so I could suck them down easier, but it was still awesome and did not take away from the experience at all. This is a place I am coming back to with friends and family. We will sit here on the water, eat great food, drink so much, and enjoy the music while we relax and soak it all in. Palms Fish Camp used to be one of the hot spots several years ago prior to new ownership. The staff was always welcoming and personable. They actually put time and effort into getting to know their customers. The food used to be amazing, especially the brunch on Sundays which is no longer offered. The staff now could care less who you are or provide 'good customer service'. The food is over cooked, tastes old and there is nothing special or significant to what they offer. It's truly a shame how much this place has declined over the years in every area. The only thing they offer is location on the water. read more

Cheap and they have weekday specials and happy hour . We tried oysters, the conch fritters, wings, and fried green tomatoes also a caesar salad . The wings were pretty good and so was the fried green tomatoes. However I do think that they should have a different dipping sauce for the fried green tomatoes . My only disappointment was the choices of liquor. Please get better choices of tequila from a tequila lover . My family stopped here for a quick lunch. Food was fine, ambiance made up for the mediocre food. They've got a nice patio and coastal Floridian vibe. Our waitress was nice and friendly, but very slow. We were only a party of three and the restaurant had many empty tables, so I'm not sure why it took so long. Here's the not so great end to our lunch: While leaving, I was walking down the steps and the stair literally broke under my foot and I fell down the remaining steps. I scraped up my arm pretty bad and had a few other cuts. Staff helped me get bandaged up and were quick to apologize. They claimed they were wanting to fix those stairs, so I'm not sure why they weren't blocked off or something. For reference, I'm a 20-something athletic girl, it's not like I was a frail fall-risk elderly person, so this should never have happened. It was nice that the staff wanted to help with the first aid kit, but they did nothing else to amend the incident (it would have been nice to have our drinks or something comped since my arm was dripping blood from their stairs lol). What can I say about this place? First off, I got great waterfront vibes even while seated inside as it was packed outside (picture perfect weather as the sunset over the water view.) The service was good for how busy it was, our server was friendly, courteous and funny. The food was pretty good, although I would've preferred fresh sides instead of what seemed prepackaged food. The entrée on the other hand was great! Both the wife and I got the special of the day, fish tacos, (grouper) with seasoned rice and fried crispy onions. Our friends ordered the skewers which had the shrimp and chicken, which also looked good. We got draft beers to wash it down, nothing special, just typical brews. I enjoyed the decor and the restroom was clean. It looked family friendly and it was cool watching folks dropping off their boats as we're leaving since we're right by the boat launch. Last note, they do offer a variety of different choices other than seafood for those who prefer traditional food. Hubby wanted to catch the sunset Friday night after work and suggested Palms since it's close to home. I agreed to give them another try. The weather was great, minus the bugs! We enjoyed a bucket of Tangerine Wheat beers and coconut shrimp to start. These were very good. I decided to order the wedge salad with blackened shrimp. This salad was huge and I loved it! Absolutely no shortage of blue cheese dressing or crumbles. The bacon bits were housemade and perfectly cooked. The blackened shrimp were great as well. Hubby ordered the fried grouper tacos with French fries and corn on the cob. He really enjoyed his meal. The grouper was fried well. The French fries were crispy. I was on my way to Little Talbot State Park and decided to stop here for lunch first. I am so glad I did because it was outstanding. They have indoor, bar and outdoor seating. You have to sit outside because the vibe and the view are both great. On their outdoor deck they have bright colorful tables with umbrellas, all overlooking the water. The music was also good. The menu has plenty of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, seafood and entrees. I opted for the shrimp and scallops skewers. They also had peppers and onions on the skewer and were grilled. They came with rice but I asked if I could substitute another item and I was able to choose two other sides instead. I got the mixed vegetables and the collard greens and they were both great. We had such high hopes for this place!! The view and atmosphere were exactly what I was looking for, but the food came up short in a big way. We were seated on the patio right away, the view was beautiful and the band was a Jimmy buffet vibe. I saw their signature cocktail "The Big Mary" pass by and was immediately impressed by the presentation. I ordered a piña colada hoping to have the same wow experience. Unfortunately I received a plain watered down premade mix that I am fairly sure was spoiled. It would have cost them next to nothing to add whipped cream, a cherry, and an umbrella at the least ...or at a minimum refrigerate the mix. The taste was rancid. We ordered the calamari and corn nuggets. Both tasted frozen. They were just okay. I ordered the whole fried snapper...a dish I order often..it was also frozen, not fresh. The batter had zero seasoning, and the whole dish tasted like it was fried in the same oil as the French fries. The coleslaw was also disappointing. Cabbage and warm mayonnaise. No seasoning. The cheese grits were definitely instant/microwaved. You could see the fake cheese bits and it was thick like jello. We also ordered the fried shrimp, not good. I only gave it 3 * because they are sitting in a gold mine. The view and atmosphere are the only thing going for it.
