The complimentary breakfast buffet (for certain Bonvoy tiers) is a real plus... very convenient and perfectly fine quality-wise. Table spacing is good, and sitting in the atrium was comfortable and relaxed. Our waiter, Josh, was excellent. Loved that they bring a thermos of coffee and leave it on the table -- a great touch. I like strong coffee and usually don't drink hotel coffee, but this one was actually pretty good. Appreciated that freshly made omelettes are included as part of the buffet and prepared in the kitchen... not just a self-serve station. Attention to detail matters in hospitality, which makes it odd that the hotel is still listed as part of Omni in places like OpenTable and Yelp... even though it was sold to Marriott almost four years ago. read more

We were going to see a show at the Performing Arts Center tonight and made a reservation to have dinner here beforehand. I am glad we did because it was a good experience. The restauarant was pretty full but service was still good. The menu offers appetizers, sandwiches, salads, and entrees. I opted for the snapper francaise. It was a great dish. It also came with spinach and roasted potatoes. My dining companion had the Jax burger. It came with a side of French fries. We were in and out with plenty of time for our show. read more

This is a gem downtown Jacksonville. It is our go-to before every performance at the Jacksonville Performing Arts Center, and they never disappoint. From your greeting at the door, the interaction with your server, to the arrival of the food, this is a wonderful dining experience. The chefs take care with every meal to ensure the quality- it's not just a plate thrown together. And the managers are actively overseeing the pass to ensure accuracy and standards. The bar is quick to get out wine and cocktails, and the ambience is relaxing and enjoyable. This may be a restaurant in a hotel, but it is no hotel restaurant! read more

October 15-22, 2024 - I stayed at the Marriott (reviewed separately) and came into J Bar/Juliette's Bistro almost daily. The meals I had for lunch and dinner were consistently good. The buffet breakfast did get boring after 4 days, but the breakfast menu has some great choices. The Marriott burger, Mahi, Snapper, and prime sirloin were all very good. There is a full bar, and the cocktails were good. There were specialty cocktails, beers on tap, and a decent wine selection too. Depending upon the number of people, especially if a sports game is on, was loud there. The large dining area was consistently quiet. At lunch and dinner the staff was frequently very busy, but did keep up. During breakfast, it was very hit or miss and it did not seem to make a difference with the amount of people eating nor the number of waitstaff. Sometimes with an empty ice tea glass sitting empty at the edge of the table it would be promptly refilled (after being asked) and other times staff would walk by several times w/o any acknowledgment. It was very chilly in the larger dining area. The bar and seating areas were much more comfortable. read more

If you're going to a show across the street at The Preforming Arts Center then this is a great place to stop for a drink at the bar inside the Marriott. Parking is right there & makes everything easy. However, our party of 8 found Juliette's ( JBar) very underwhelming. From the minute we walked in to the packed restaurant/ bar it had an overwhelming smell of frying meat and the place was so Smokey I had a hard time keeping my eyes from watering. They have an open kitchen that obviously needs a much better ventilation system during busy times when they are frying burger after burger. Our waiter although nice seemed pretty overwhelmed as well. He said he could only give our party of 8, 6 separate checks which was ok with us. This meant 2 people would be on one check. Ok fine. Hold that thought I'll get back to this. The menu is very limited & really needed several more snacky, appetizer / light fare choices. we were disappointed because apparently their happy hour is from 1-5 and our party arrived at 5:30 so no drink specials for us sadly. a glass of wine was $14. 2 in our party ordered their special drinks and were served them in plastic cups & were told " sorry we ran out of glasses" Overall review of our party of 8 on menu items - Burger 7/10 1/2 wedge salad 6/10 Hummus 5/10 Shrimp & grits 8/10 Now we were making a show that started at 7 which the waiter knew ( everyone else there was going to the show as well judging by how it cleared out by 6:30) this is when we asked for checks. The waiter messed up our checks so bad adding drinks on & charging for wrong items. It took him OVER A 1/2 hour to straighten it out making us late for the show. When I mentioned to the manager the problem with the checks his response was " Yeah when that happens it's a big mess and takes a lot to straighten out" Our overall experience was pretty poor which is a shame because it's really a great location to the theater & parking. Was staying at the hotel and due to weather I didn't want to venture out. Went to the bar and ordered the blackened mahi-mahi. Food came quickly, fish cooked and seasoned well, rice and asparagus cooked to perfection as expected. The whole meal was really good, just a tad overpriced. No complaints but about $10 more than it should be. Had a dessert and I normally don't eat them but the pumpkin cheesecake was off the chain! This was by far one of my favorite desserts I have ever had!!! Bartender was slow to provide drinks to bar patrons as his focus was on the table drinks coming in. We were staying in the hotel (a mistake that I'll cover in another review) and walked in to get breakfast. There was a sign that said wait to be seated, so we waited.....and waited.......and waited.... Annoyed we finally sat ourselves next to a table that was eating. Eventually the bartender came over, very annoyed and rather reluctantly took out order. After bringing us water we noticed that our glasses had lipstick on them. We asked for new ones and the audible sigh and eye roll was way over the top. She brought the tea over, no spoon, cream, or sugar and when I asked for them...you guessed it, another big sigh. I apologize ma'am for asking the bare minimum. Fast forward to the food coming out, ICE COLD!!!! I would have complained to the manager but we couldn't find one. We had a very nice visit here after seeing Hamilton. We were seated right away. I had the Kale Caesar Salad! I was a little hesitant but it was excellent! The scallops were also roasted to perfection. I had a blackberry cider to go along with my meal. It was sweet, tangy and delicious. My brother-in-love had the fish and chips which left much to be desired. The fries were probably the best part as the fish was terribly overcooked. Our waitress was attentive, patient and kind. Spent way too much money on Matt Rife tickets but wanted to make a special night of it. Had to work really hard so that my experience at Juliette's did not ruin the entire evening. Made 7:30 reservation. Manager checked us in and walked away for 17 min and did not return. When he did, he had no menu's or silverware. Sat us in the back of the restaurant next to the kitchen. After 11 minutes of no one coming by (stopping the manager 1 time to ask about drinks) we went to get our own drinks at the bar. We did this 2 times. After 24 min the server came by and took our order. She told us that "no one told her we were sat" and "I wish they would stop seating". I could tell she was a nice lady, but she was very rushed and clearly having a bad day. I am not shy and called attention to us waiting for someone several times. Food was delivered by a cook - no napkins or silverware. Asked 3 people for them before someone brought them. Food was cold. Ordered drinks before food came and server forgot to put it in. The people at the table next to us had been waiting 35 min for the check after asking for it 2 times. There were multiple events in Jax that night and it was packed...why I made the reservation. Wish I would have had time to leave. I NEVER complain. Never. I almost spoke to the manager that night just so maybe someone else's night would not be affected as ours was, but his body language clearly said he did not care either way. I used to visit when under Omni ownership all the time. I work across the street at CSX and will make sure to spread the word about service. Worst restaurant experience I have ever had. I would call it an off night except that they were not even a 1/4 of the way full, almost empty, and they were aware of the poor service. The prices are WAY to expensive for the experience. Drinks (even water) are served in clear Solo cups, cheap paper napkins. Bottom line....no longer an Omni quality restaurant. Better places downtown with great service. Avoid! read more

This restaurant has lovely ambience. It is adjacent to a soaring glass atrium that gives a dramatic, sun filled view into an open area. The bar area looks very inviting. The male greeter greeted us warmly, and promptly took us to our table. There was no waiting. Our server was a delightful person by the name of Amy, I believe. She came to our table and promptly took our drink orders, and was attentive throughout the evening. We ordered a house Chardonnay, and a martini straight up with a twist. Both were excellent but way too expensive. We ordered fish and chips as a lark, thinking that somehow this restaurant could not mess them up. Of course they did. The fries were perfectly good, and well seasoned, the coleslaw was a little soupy but very tasty but the fish was a typical pre-frozen plank of breaded fish that was dry and tasteless. They must have used an air fryer to heat it up. Captain D's has much better fish than this. This restaurant is perfect for people with mobility issues who wish to go to the performing arts center across the street. We knew the food would probably still be horrible and so we were prepared for it. The good news is the ambience and the service was excellent this time. The food and drinks would be overpriced even if they were excellent! The management ought to be ashamed of themselves that they are allowing patrons of the hotel to be subjected to such overpriced, poorly, prepared cuisine. They obviously have no intention of changing, but if they did, they could pack the house every night. So sad. Hats off to the greeter and the server, Great job! read more

2 stars is generous for what we experienced. It was over an hour after we arrived by the time we were served appetizers. The smoked salmon dip was just cold salmon dip that tasted like it was from costco, served up with a an ice cream scoop. The octopus undercooked and over charred; which is not theoretically possible. The hostess was unprofessionally dressed and wasn't even at the hostess station when we arrived. Our waiter took 15 minutes to take our drink order, lost another lady's order at the table next to ours, and forgot my debit card when he returned the check. The kitchen space was cluttered, there were crates of dishes sitting on the decorative areas and it was freezing cold. Absolutely skip this place. There are plenty of other lovely restaurants in downtown Jacksonville with better food, better ambience and better service for a smaller price tag. Don't know why, but this was my first visit to my local namesake, Juliette's Bistro! It's been here for years, and so have I -- but we've never seemed to cross paths. Well, this year's Yelpie Awards changed all that and our worlds collided, literally! Shouts out to Chris, who also ended up being our server after the near death experience of being bum rushed at the host stand while I was trying to make the last reservation of the night that I'd booked. I was ravenous, I didn't want the kitchen to close, and poor Chris took the brunt of it like a CHAMP! After mowing Chris over and apologizing, we were promptly seated and he took excellent care of us! We ordered many sides and small bites, then sampled a bit of everything available. A novel idea! My favorites were the deviled eggs (nice spin with the shrimp), the truffle mashed potatoes, the garlic grits, the crab and corn bisque, the collard greens, and the brussel sprouts-- actually, it's safe to say-- all of it! I enjoyed Juliette's and I'll be back (in less of a hurry) to take full advantage of that 25% off brunch check in offer (thanks Yelp) very soon. Magnifique! read more

The only reason for two stars is the waiter. I think his name was Haydar, & the cook at the omelette station was trying. $15 charge for parking. Truly obnoxious in downtown Jax on a Sunday. Arrived at approx 1245 There were maybe five tables in the whole restaurant two of which were a large party of women who were extremely loud hooting and hollering and apparently consuming the free mimosas. So the hostess instead of seating us in the wide open restaurant seats is right next to these obnoxious screaming hooting and hollering selfie taking Hens. Literally we couldn't hear ourselves talking because of the racket they were making. My whole reason for coming here was the reviews that mentioned crab legs. Like I said by the time we got seated and we went up to the buffet it was probably pushing 1 o'clock. Most of the items were half full or less and everything I touched was tepid. Clearly their chefs don't utilize their thermometers. The omelette station looked nice but I'm not a fan of eggs. The prime rib was very small and it was medium at its most rare point. I didn't try it but my mom said it was good. They had some type of fish with capers there was a little bit left, it was also tepid. You should see the pictures. The mashed potatoes were mostly full and nicely done but the temperature was room temperature basically. The green beans looked good but I didn't try them. There was some chicken tenders and waffles with some very watery syrup that just kind of ruined it. The waffles were just regular waffles the chicken tenders appear to have been handmade which was a nice touch. I tried them and they were a bit well done so they were dry. If they had not watered down the syrup it would've been good. The breading was tasty. The charcuterie was some small salami slices and a few kinds of cheese and a handful of candied pecans. They did have some super moldy aged cheese that looked good and tasted pretty good it was cut into half inch cubes. I didn't try the salami. They did have salmon I assume it was smoked. I didn't see any bagels to go with it though and I did not see any cream cheese. The little bin that held the muffins was literally the same one that they have at the Hampton Inn in the free breakfast buffet, including the fact that the muffins were exactly the same I suppose they come from Sysco. My biggest disappointment came from the seafood section. They had a ball that look like it used to have room a lot in it but it was empty. They had another dish that looked like it had some sauce in it but that was also empty. They had a container that had melted butter or something like melted butter however there was no heater so it was cold. In fact it was so cold that by the time I got to the table it was semi solid The crab legs are clearly pre-cooked and prepared and frozen and shipped in pre-cut in half. Now the crab legs themselves are king crab and could be fantastic but they put them on ice and because they come frozen they are much better warmed than served on ice. I got the waiter once they put some more out there after I asked a couple times to heat mine up in the microwave for 30 seconds and that did the trick. The peel and eat shrimp had good flavor and they were a good size. The cocktail sauce was a bit on the spicy side. I don't know what went on in that place before we got there but it was messy all over the place. All the food displays were just messy. The desert area was cleaned out like literally cleaned out there was just three lemon bar squares sitting there. This was a birthday brunch for my SO and I was so disappointed because I wanted him to have something fantastic. We also brought my 82-year-old mom and she was pretty disappointed as well. The cooks seemed so ambivalent. Three or four times I got up to try to get food only to find it it's still empty and when I went to the front podium to ask the girl if she could get some food on the buffet so we could eat there was never anybody there and even when I looked in the window to the kitchen there wasn't anybody in there! It was like the twilight zone, you just couldn't find anybody to help you out whatsoever I've never seen anything like it. Now our waiter on the other hand went over and above and beyond and more. He was fantastic. He is from Turkey and he had great skills. He was doing everything he could to try to make up for everybody else at the same time he was dealing with that table full of clucking Hens next to us Who probably left him no tip. The poor guy was juggling his tables and trying to make it right and he deserves a promotion for the effort he put forth. The mimosas were served in a wine glass, they were OK. My mom said the coffee was good. They brought her some gluten-free cake and she said it was phenomenal. All in all, I would come back again if they got themselves together but this was in extreme disappointment. read more

The only thing going for this place is convenience if you are staying at the marriot in downtown Jacksonville. The prices are insane and imply a quality that is absolutely not there. We ordered the calamari and it was as good as any deep fried anything you would get from a fast food joint. I eill say it came with 2 sauces and both were wonderful. I had a cup of clam chowder for $10. Yes a small cup. It was as good as any I have found at any cafeteria in America. Probably got it from the same vendor My husband had the fish fry, the breading was as salty and crunchy as anything you can get at mcdonalds. It was twice as thick as the virtually nonexistent fish. The key lime pie was meh and I could taste the eggs. I really try to find the best everywhere I go because most of us are trying to do are best however this place felt like a crime was being committed against the consumers between the prices and the poor quality of the food read more

Ordered wine, which came after a while. Ordered soup and entree for myself; entree arrived about 6:20, but soup never arrived. Entree was just ok. Companion ordered hummus and a then a salad for an entree. Salad arrived abt 6:20 and hummus never arrived. Another companion order a steak medium; it arrived cold and raw in the center. The 4th person ordered the salmon dinner. What was delivered was a strawberry salad divided onto 2 plates, each with a half portion of salmon. Bill arrived abt 6:45 and we were on our way. The restaurant was pleasantly crowded. Parking was $25. I'd not dine here again. read more

Out to see the Jo Koy event, decided to have dinner first and give this location a try as it was in the same parking lot (Omni hotel) for the event. we made a reservation and go there early just to give us extra time in case the line to get in the event was long. But very sadly when we got to the restaurant there was a line of 7 patrons before us, after a few minutes we noticed that no one had come to provide service for any of us. the line continued to grow behind us and after 20 minutes we had to consider other options to make our event in time. We even tried to call the restaurant and to get the attention of any of the wait staff, but after all the frustration the line never moved and no one ever came to help the line at the door. We walk to another local restaurant and made the show on time and that part was a great night, I don't know what happened or if this is normal or isolated, but it was really a turn off to never even get any service and would most likely rule this location off our list of places to eat. I stayed at the OMNI Jacksonville for one week - for an event and I was impressed with the cuisine each evening. There was never a time when something was over or undercooked; the staff was extremely friendly, accommodating, respectful and polite. There were even times I received complimentary dessert and coffee - which was a nice touch. I even ran into a slight dilemma and was assisted expeditiously. In the midst of packing, I forgot my toothpaste. I reached out to concierge and was given complimentary toothpaste - very nice touch. On my fifth evening, I found out I was a Select member and realized I hadn't received free coffee in the mornings with my free bottle of water. I made the front desk and Juliette staff aware and it was handled immediately. I received a complimentary bottle of wine, a cheese board with fruit and extra bottles of water. If I'm ever in downtown Jacksonville, I won't stay anywhere else. Thank you so much for making my stay as wonderful as possible. read more

Everything at Juliette's was perfect, the ambiance, drinks, meal selection, our server, all that. There was only 1 thing that will keep me from going back. There was no seasoning on the food. Period. Even the cook on the meat was perfect, but honey, whoever is supposed to be back there seasoning must have been off Saturday night. There was literally zero taste, like even just salt and pepper would have went a long way. Just bland. Our waiter David was great and accommodated all of us in our group of 7. Our drinks were food & we enjoyed the space. The selection of meals was cute, & for the most part we all got something different. I just wish it was seasoned well. There's something fancy and special about eating in a hotel restaurant. Living in Jacksonville there are a TON of dining options and since I never stay in hotels within my home city, I never think about the restaurants held within. My husband and I have made a habit of enjoying Sunday Brunch out together since we spend most of the week eating meals at home. So, we were excited to try out a new spot for our weekly tradition. The Sunday Brunch at Juliette's Bistro is available every Sunday from 11am to 2pm and features your traditional breakfast favorites like eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, sausage, grits, chicken and waffles, and hashbrowns as well as various stations for omelets, prime rib, seafood, savory side dishes, and more. My personal favorite offering from the brunch menu is the bottomless mimosas. (And when they say bottomless, they mean it. I never saw the bottom of my glass!) Also worth mentioning is the stuffed French toast which is two slices of French toast sandwiching cinnamon roll icing. It's like having dessert for breakfast! My sweet tooth was sufficiently tickled. We attempted to try a little bit of everything and I think we succeeded for the most part. For our first round I stuck to traditional breakfast fare while my husband tried out the omelet station, topped with a piece of bacon because... bacon. We went "surf n' turf" style with some shrimp, crab legs, and a thick slice of prime rib as well as the salad bar, steamed herb veggies, and mac n' cheese. Once we were stuffed to the gills, we sipped coffee and enjoyed another mimosa (or two) over conversation. Yes, conversation! The Sunday Brunch takes place on Juliette's "veranda" in the hotel atrium which keeps the noise level down making Juliette's Bistro a perfect spot for an intimate dining date or your next business meeting. While $28 may seem a little luxurious for a Sunday Brunch, we felt like the variety and quality of the foods plus the bottomless mimosas was definitely worthy of the price tag. If you're looking to raise the brunch bar and finish off your weekend with a bang, we highly recommend you give Juliette's Bistro a try. read more

This place is darling. A great spot to grab dinner or drinks before a show. It's located in the onmi hotel Downtown. Be sure to make a reservation because they fill up days prior. There is first come first serve in the bar area. However that is usually packed as well. The food is delicious if you can find a spot though! This is a more upscale, mature type of place. Since the last time I've eaten here, the price of their themed all you can eat lunch buffet has gone up from $9.95 to $12.95 and it's only available on Wednesdays (New Orleans Theme) Thursdays (Italian Theme), and Fridays (Southern). Looks like they've discontinued the Asian Theme and Mexican Theme which I've enjoyed. Now, I have to pick Fridays. Southern Friday features comfort foods such as meatloaf, buttermilk fried chicken, fried catfish, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, green beans, cornbread, peach cobbler, and banana pudding. Our server was very nice and as attentive as she could be, though she was stretched too thin with too many tables. The food was sub-par and overpriced. I ordered a New York strip steak and ordered it rare. It came medium well. I sent it back and was brought another one, again way overcooked. Was running out of time so just accepted it. It was dry and very tough. Worst part -- it was the most expensive entree on the menu at $48! Another gripe I have about the place -- my friend who was dining with me has many food allergies. She asked the server whether they could just steam any of the vegetables they serve there. After the server talked to the chef, she came back to say all they had to offer was a salad. Most restaurants today are accustomed to serving people with food allergies and generally accommodate them with something as simple as steaming some vegetables or offering a plain baked potato. But not this one. They didn't budge. And then they charged her $16 for a head of iceburg lettuce with about 3 cherry tomatoes and a tablespoon of feta cheese sprinkled on it. Their changing special buffets (Tue-Fri) is a welcomed change to other establishments close by. New Orleans (Wed) & Italian (Thu) buffets have become my favorites! Made a reservation and arrived 15 minutes early just to stand and line and NEVER get helped. The one person that we saw that did work there kept walking by but not acknowledging the growing line of people. We gave up and left. Several people walked by us as they were leaving saying not to waste your money or time because the food wasn't that great! I can't comment on the food, we didn't even get seated. read more
