This is a speakeasy place. So you go in through a cafe or a bagel place I'm not really sure I didn't pay attention. And then they bring you back to the location. I didn't get any pictures of the decor but it was nice inside and it seemed like they were playing more of an old school hip hop R&B Vibe type music which I like. We did order the shishito peppers and I had asked specifically if they were more charred and less sauce and the waitress seemed to say that it wasn't a lot of sauce. But when it came it had a lot of sauce on it. I feel like shishito pepper should have more Char and just a little bit of sauce. We didn't ask her to take off the shishito peppers but she did when she brought the bill. The drinks were decent. It's a nice cool concept. If you're going just for drinks then maybe that's a thing I'm not sure how the rest of the food was because we ended up eating somewhere else.
Not somewhere I will be running back to. My friends and I had a 5pm reservation. Which reservations seem to be hard to get. But I'm not sure why when only 2 other people were there. No one else came until about 5:45. It took 10 minutes to get water. And then we ordered the Hazelnut Espresso Martini (3 of them) and 5 minutes later the waiter came back to let us know they don't have hazelnut. So we ordered the caramel espresso martini. It took about another 10-15 minutes to get the drink - mind you still only one other couple in the establishment. I also don't think the martini had caramel in it. The place itself seems cool but I'd probably go somewhere else for drinks if I'm in the area.
Went to Jekyll for their special Victorian Tea. I had read a few mixed reviews but I was honestly pleasantly surprised. They went all in on the theme. With flowers everywhere and beautiful table settings it was straight out of Bridgerton. We were seated quickly and our servers were dressed perfectly to theme. We ordered our teas and they brought out the appetizers. Quickly followed by the standard tea foods and desserts. There were a few stand outs (toffee pudding and mini beef Wellington) and a few duds (cucumber sandwiches had butter, & no clotted cream) but ultimately it was a nice tea. I will say it was pricey but it was worth the experience even if it wasn't the best high tea I've ever been too. They were amazing at decor and the added caricature artist was such a great touch. If you like a theme and a fun outing I'd say this is worth the experience.
So disappointed!! My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner at On Swann and made reservations for Jekyll for dessert. We absolutely loved going to Ciro's when they were still opened and enjoying their fresh out of the oven chocolate chip cookies amongst many other things. We saw that Jekyll offered "Ciro's Chocolate Chip Cookies" and we were so excited to one, try Jekyll, and two, gobble up some made to order cookies. So, we arrived a few minutes before our 7pm reservation, but were left standing at the entrance as other parties were shuttled right in. In fact, 10 minutes later, we were still standing there. After almost 15 minutes, we were finally escorted into the speakeasy. This was the first sign of how the evening was going to go and, honestly, we should've left after five minutes of waiting. Once seated, we were warmly greeted by Otis, who took our order for the cookies and spiked milk. When the runner brought the cookies they were neither fresh from the oven, nor warm (or gooey) like real Ciro's cookies were. Instead, they were cold, hard and broke like peanut brittle. I spoke to Otis, who immediately addressed the matter and put in another order of cookies. The second order was delivered by the manager, who claimed that he stood and watched the entire process. This was difficult for us to believe because the second batch cookies were even worse than the first batch. So, we called Otis back over, told him we were leaving and thanked him for his superior service. At this same time, a bar tender, who overheard all of this, stopped by with two complementary beverages. The drinks were the highlight of the visit along with the severs graciousness and professionalism. Jekyll appears to be a very nice place. Unfortunately, they don't make, nor serve authentic Ciro's chocolate chip cookies. Two stars for Otis and bar tender. Do better Jekyll!!
Came here Christmas Eve, it's was pretty empty obviously for the day but we had great service and the drinks were amazing. Very well presented. Definitely will return.
We had an amazing holiday Christmas Tea experience at Jekyll this morning. The front of the place is a bagel shop and the back is the speak easy. Cool concept. We enjoyed an array of tasty treats and English tea. We also partake in the Egg Nog martini and a bubbly gin cocktail. Such a wonderful way to start the holiday! Merry Christmas and peace on earth.
In a world where every bar with a vintage/steampunk vibe calls themselves a speakeasy, this place stands out. It's exactly the chill and interesting spot you're looking for when you just want a couple really good cocktails and conversation with your friends.
Solid/interesting drink choices and it's nice that they've expanded their food menu too. Would like this place more if it were easier to walk into though. Always a bit of a fuss getting a reservation despite it never seeming too too busy.
This is for the Alice in Wonderland themed tea party. Space: absolutely adorable, great decorations perfectly matched the theme and the servers were dressed in Alice in Wonderland attire from the mad Hatter to Alice and the white rabbit Service: included in the $60 charge everyone worked together. Sparkling water never received had to ask for tea refills, felt like it was a little bothersome. I was told the alcoholic beverages were limited to the options on the tea menu, but included with the tea. This was incorrect they were up charged with the tea. $225 high tea, the most expensive in the world! Food: i've been to tea across the country, across the world. This is by far the lowest quality high tea I have ever had. The pastries, excessively sweet. Rice crispy treats give it some stars. The tiny dime size macaroon was also tasty the scone the size of a half dollar without Devonshire cream left a lot to be desired. I didn't ask for the cream, which I was given, however, what I was given was unexpectedly like no Devonshire cream I have ever tasted.. I could go on, but this tea was not worth it I do hope to hit up this place for their bar and mixologist which looks to be divine minus the $225 drink on the menu! Drinks range from $15-$225 Btw the 225 drink has $28.99 for the bottle bourbon! But hey, if you got that kind of money, spend it baby the economy needs you
Stopped in on a Thursday around 8pm for a group of 3. They were able to seat us at the bar. The barstools were extremely comfortable and roomy. They did not feel cramped together. The decor is very moody and nice, it gives a high end vibe. They have a very extensive cocktail menu to choose from! Would recommend for a date or a meet up with a few friends. If you want to sit at a table/lounge area I would suggest a reservation because it is pretty small inside! They also gave us a welcome drink for our first time being there which I thought was super unique and well appreciated!
My girlfriend and I spontaneously went to Jekyll on a Friday night around 7:30 without a reservation. From other people's reviews, it sounds like it might be hard to get in without a reservation normally, but we didn't have a probably when we went! It's set inside Sesame Bagels in an unmarked door, and I loved the speakeasy details like the faded J (Jekyll logo) under the sesame logo outside. We asked the sesame worker and they told us to wait for a hostess to come out and check if there was walk-in seating available. Fortunately there was, so in we went. The interior is dark and cozy, which makes it feel mysterious. There was nice lighting and old school hip hop playing. We sat in shared a seating area but it never got too crowded. The service was on point! Our server brought out waters with a complementary gin drink as a starter, which was such a nice touch to just make us feel welcomed and excited to try the other drinks. The menu has 11 signature drinks based off of popular fairy tales/horror stories. These signature drinks are extremely pricey in my opinion, however, they do have some simpler drinks for more reasonable prices and to be honest, I expected the price range given how fancy the place was. We both loved our drinks, and since my gf got one of the signature drinks it came with 3 tinctures of lavender, hibiscus, and rosemary for her to add to her drink herself and personalize the taste. I thought this was a creative touch and also noticed other performative dishes being served throughout the night (table side caesar salad, tiramisu that got blowtorched right at the table, etc) so they definitely have an eye for flare here. Overall, I thought Jekyll was a snazzy addition to Hyde Park. I definitely wouldn't frequent it due to the prices, but loved the experience and would come back for special occasions.
Sooo Jekyll is a hidden speakeasy in Hyde Park. Their front is a small bakery, and you use a code for them to take you to the back. The ambience is low-lit, with soft music and a chill vibe. I really enjoyed that each drink has a story behind it, along with a book to read about each one. The food menu is more snack-based, with some main plate options. We could only have the table for 2 hours, so we had to move to the bar while finishing our drinks. I see people mention the drink prices, I'll share my thoughts even though I don't normally rate places based on prices, but more on the overall experience and food. I'd say the storytelling and presentation of the drinks add to the experience, but it's not a place I'd sit and keep ordering drinks. It'll be interesting to see how long it lasts. Overall, I think it's a nice spot for a celebratory night or a date. What Was Ordered: Deviled Eggs = They were okay, not bad, but not the best I've had. Memories of Capri = I liked the balsamic taste.

I'll definitely be coming back!! The whole experience was unique and intriguing. The cocktail menu is unlike any other place I've ever been in. I'm not a drinker at the most I would have one cocktail but the variety was so wide that it was hard to choose. There was a story behind certain cocktails presented like in a story book which I found very interesting and unique. I had sushi which I really enjoyed. The service was OK simply because our server when we called him said something like "I'll help you but I have to go to the other table". That part was weird but the manager did come to make sure everything is OK and even got us one meal free of charge which wasn't their mistake and a free dessert for the birthday girl in our group (which they don't normally do) so I can't complain. The overall ambiance was as if you tumbled down the rabbit hole in Alice and Wonderland and the place is small which makes the experience more private. I loved it and I'm already planning my next trip. read more

Everything about this quint speakeasy was fabulous. Brandon was our sever and he was fantastic! Not only did he know the menu inside and out but he had the ability to find the perfect drink based off personal preferences. We decided to do a bunch of apps; the fondue, the ruffles, pizza bagels and devil eggs. The cheese in the fondue was phenom. Be warned it does get hot as it sits there for a while. The ruffles thing was good but left a little to the imagination. The devil eggs with the crunch of the bacon were great. The pizza bagels though! The pizza bagels were AMAZING! Please keep them! They were mouthwatering delicious. We ended the night with the crème brule - outstanding. This needs to be on the menu as well. For drinks, I don't remember the names, but mine came in a smoke house (delicious), one with bacon (I would eat that bacon all day and the drink was good), the clarified margarita - clean and good, the drink where you mix everything in - okay. Ambiance was cool, loved that the speakeasy was behind a bagel shop. That being said, drinks- NOT worth the price. And most of the night our server said some of the aesthetic drinks were running out... how do you run out of drinks when you are a bar? And you only serve 10 signature cocktails? Shouldn't those be fully stocked if that's what you want your customers to order? read more

My friend and I attended the mermaid themed high tea on 7/19. While the theme, decor, and ambience were interesting (and certainly geared towards those obsessed with IG and TikTok), the high tea service was not. First, it is $70 for a meager amount of food. High Tea at the iconic Ritz in London is around $80... but you actually get good food for that money. Second, the high tea menu is not vegetarian/kosher/vegan/gluten free friendly at all. Neither my friend nor I eat pork, raw salmon, or tuna. Trying to get substitutions was a Herculean feat. I think hiding the tea menu/pricing from the website is deceptive. It basically locks customers in to a pricy meal where they have no choice in what they are actually eating. Third, the service was abysmal. After waiting 30 minutes for our cocktails, I had to ask the manager where they were because nobody was working at the bar. Fourth, the canapés were supposed to be getting carried around on a tray for everyone to try, but I only saw one waiter with meatballs (which I could not eat due to not eating meat). Fifth, you have to wait in Sesame until you are called for your table. It was obnoxious to loiter in a tiny bagel shop when you are on time for your reservation. After our drinks, our bill was over $225 dollars. The restaurant automatically added a 20% tip to the bill, which seemed high given the circumstances. I'm not sure we will be back. read more

This new speakeasy is a great addition to the Tampa night-life. Reservations are a must. The attire is business casual. Don't consider wearing a t-shirt, shorts, or athletic wear. Eat dinner prior to visiting. Perhaps consider eating at their sister restaurant, Roe, located around the corner. Enter through Sesame as if you are ordering from the bagel shop. Tell the employee your specially assigned code word that was texted to you. Take a quick seat until the Jekyll staff comes out to take you to the 'secret,' Jekyll at Hyde Park entrance. The owners were spot on when designing the Jekyll. It is not a large space but very comfortable and cozy. You get individualized attention. Everything goes perfectly with the theme. The specialty drinks each have their own story as you will see from the hardback book. The presentations are fun and creative. The Jekyll has nailed the fine art of mixing drinks. Your server is your bartender and will take your order, create your order, and bring it to you. It is quite obvious that the bartenders go through intense training. The specialty drinks include ingredients that aren't typically used elsewhere. If you want an experience, be prepared to pay for what you get. If you prefer the typical mixed drink available pretty much anywhere, you can get that too. The only food that can be brought to you inside Jekyll is bagels. I ordered a Margarita bagel; it was delicious. While most places offer a social scene that is crowded and lacks quality service, Jekyll provides a unique experience for those that prefer a higher level of expectations. read more
I went to Jekyll with some friends for a girls night. It was a fun experience, from the bagel shop password to the decor to the drinks. The menu is literally a book with stories about each drink, very cute but also a little overwhelming to look through, pick something, and share the menu. Drinks were very pricey but also pretty and tasty. We got a tray of tinctures to add flavor- fun/cute but also at over $20 a drink, I'm afraid I'll ruin it by adding stuff. Jekyll at Hyde Park is all about the experience, that's what makes little speakeasy's like this so fun and engaging. We received our code word the day of our reservation, we arrived to Sesame and "placed our order" at the counter, we were greeted by a hostess to take us to our table in the beautiful little speakeasy shortly after. Jekyll is a small space, very intimate and dimly lit. The wait staff was so friendly and attentive to all of our questions. The menu is in the form of a book, carrying you from one page to the next with story after story about each signature drink. The attention to detail in the short passages and the pictures that correspond to each story is truly remarkable, I was blown away by the stories for each drink and how they're referenced back to some of the most loved literature in the world. I ordered the White Rabbit, it was like an extremely elegant orange cream cocktail, but so light and not too sweet - it was such a treat. My boyfriend ordered the Virtue's Vice and it tasted like a vacation, it gave me pina colada vibes, it was also really good. For light bites we ordered the margherita bagel with pepperoni - no complaints here, but also nothing crazy. If you need something on your stomach while you drink, these are decent small plates to share. We'll be back for date night, this is a great spot for an intimate setting to end the evening. read more

such a cool concept. the drinks correlate to "things" and aspects throughout the speakeasy. The drink menu is a bit overwhelming; simply because it's literally like reading a book. Each drink has a paragraph with a story explaining the drink. There is a full bar, so don't feel compelled to buy a $30 drink but a simple spirit + chaser might be doing yourself a disservice while you're here. Some drinks don't actually have a presentation. So if you're attending for instagrammable things, be sure to ask but if you're more focus on getting something you for sure would like then there's no need to worry. My faves of the night were the Hacker's Secret. It comes out in a smoked out planetarium. It's a tequila based, spicy rose drink (simply put). The other fave was the Memories of Capri. It was a gin based drink, with a frothy egg white topping. It is literally a Caprese Salad as a cocktail, basil, lemon , balsamic. Very herbaceous and is topped with mozzarella + tomatoes. This has no presentation. My friends got the white rabbit when asked for a fruity drink. It is gin has orange air and they topped with orange coconut whipped cream (that's the "show" for this one). They liked it but wished it was stronger, so didn't feel they got their money's worth. The Fountain of Youth had a very weird after taste that I couldn't get pass but tasty at the forefront of the sip. I think it may have been the melon giving the aftertaste. I wish there were bathrooms actually within the speakeasy; people going in and out for the restroom is sort of a giveaway. Music was on point. The night we went was throwback rap, like old jayz ,one biggie song , one tupac (which made my day). read more

Service is very good, and while the place is nicely spaced with reservations only, music was a bit loud, making it hard to have a conversation. Visited this Speakeasy that was recently opened by Three Oaks Hospitality Group and we were impressed. As you may know, they also own Ro, Steelbach, M Bird, Stones Throw, Bar and my favorite Speakeasy of all time - Ciro's. It was my birthday celebration and my husband and I decided to try it after our dinner. The really cool thing about this spot is that it is truly hidden in a fun way. You assume that you walk into a bagel shop, where they ask for your password (you'll receive it when you make a reservation), which they type as your order, then ticket prints, you are asked to wait for your bagel and a few minutes later the hostess from Jekyll comes out to walk you inside. As you walk in, you will see an open floor plan, a beautiful bar with gorgeous lighting, chandeliers, outstanding ceiling art work as well as a few cozy booths on your right. The drink menu reads more like short stories that explain a special experience. Jekyll is definitely a unique concept and it was really interesting to read those before we decided on our drink order. Cocktails themselves were special and fantastic! Shane, our server, was a true expert and shared interesting insights about the concept itself and various liquor selections Jekyll carries. Keep in mind, they do not have a full blown kitchen and the bites that are offered at this time are bagels. As far as parking goes, there is a free parking garage next to Sesame or you can valet next door at Ro. Great experience overall. If you are a drink connoisseur, this Speakeasy is for you! read more
What an excellent spot to grab some incredibly distinct and delicious cocktails. Loved the secret entrance, all the stories that went along with the drinks, the knowledgable staff and the throwback playlist to 90s hip hop. Visited their first week open after discovering thanks to That's so Tampa. Perfect adult fun for Halloween evening. From the first text to the end, Jekyll set up the perfect experience. Ambiance was amazing. We were greeted by our server and offered some lore and menu suggestions. We all ordered a different drink from the craft cocktail book. Several drinks were gin based which none of us drink so the menu became limited. We each ordered a different drink. The Virtues Vice was lacking in presentation but was the best tasting. The one with the bacon fat was also tasty. The green apple with the garlic and tinctures was barely drinkable. Intensely tart. The Lost in translation had the most amazing presentation but the drink tasted like a bandaid. It was awful. For the prices, we expected more. It wasn't until after the first round, they told us they were a full bar with traditional drinks. Glad we went, but sadly not sure unless the menu is revamped we would visit again. read more

I loved this place!!! Coming back for sure. The entrance was really cool and creative, the drinks were delicious, creative, and photogenic (the phone ATE it up). We had dinner beforehand so not sure about the food but the pizza bagel was okay! I highly recommend this place, it is worth the hype. This speakeasy started out great. The morning of my reservation I received a text with the password and directions on how to enter the restaurant and available parking. However, when we arrived, we still had to wait to be seated and since there is a time limit of an hour and a half, that's not cool. When being seated, there were plenty of empty tables, which makes me wonder why we even had to wait to be seated. They serve minimal food items. It's a spot for after dinner drinks which, by the way, took a while to come out. The drink menu has a cool layout. It's formatted like a book and the drinks are chapters with a short story containing the flavor profiles. The music and atmosphere was a nice vibe. The table side preparation of the Caesar salad was pretty cool; however, the dressing was a bit on the tart side. In the end, we spent $130 on deviled eggs, ceasar salad & 3 drinks. Can't say it was money well spent. read more

An amazing place. The setting is straight from the old days and easy to imagine what the old speakeasy's must have been like. Beautiful setting, comfortable, cozy booths, romantic. The photo if of our drinkgs and the ceiling. The drinks are presented with great flair at the table and they taste wonderful. I was left wondering if the staff are all owners as they take such pride and care in everything they do. Very friendly, helpful in reading the menu and watching for clues of the drinks that can be ordered. It's a must go to if you are in Tampa. Only minutes from downtown Tampa. read more

Look .. the thing you go here for is the experience. And at $20-35 a cocktail it should be an amazing experience. The speakeasy vibe is cool and something needed in Tampa. The ambiance nice with a pretty bar. I don't recall the music so I feel that it was either lacking or not memorable. The place would do well with an amazing jazz band to take the vibe up a notch. Maybe they have live music on some weekends. If they don't, they should. The cocktails were incredibly presentable and tasty and they should be. Again this is the reason to go. Live Music would make me stay and come back. Otherwise, I feel it's a one and done visit. The only other item worth mentioning is that the server may have been having an off night and that will make or break that first experience. Unfortunately I was more excited to be there than our server that night. Her lackluster presentation didn't add anything to our night. read more

I went for a belated Mother's Day celebration this past Monday with one of my daughters to avoid crowds and was glad I did. I met a wonderful server, Brandon who enjoyed his job very much and was able to recommend something to your liking based on what you were interested in and answer any of the many questions that I had. Whatever your concerns were, he was able to address. I'd recommend, Beef Tartare, Cheese Fondue dish and the Deviled Eggs. The Harkers Secret was my favorite drink. The ambiance was nice. We could hear each other talk and the music playing was music enjoyable to my ears. This is a must try out place. Oh, ladies the restroom was clean. read more

I'm a sucker for a speakeasy bar and this one is stunning. I think needing a reservation kind of takes away from the experience. As soon as you enter Sesame, the workers ask for your reservation details and secret password, they also don't let you go anywhere near the hidden door. The restroom being outside of the bar area also ruins the experience a little bit. The drink menu is super expensive for what you get. Some of the cocktails have a nice presentation, but they definitely need better glassware and should work on making the drinks prettier and more elaborate if they cost nearly $30 each. This speakeasy is located inside Sesame Bagel. Make a reservation if you want to get in here. We loved the vibe-dark and moody with an artsy feel.
