Marketing works because this is my to go ice cream spot in Rice Village (although I do love the porch and rocking chairs at the Montrose location on Westheimer.) Not sure what to get, try a sample or two or three. Love how they serve the samples on little silver spoons. Better for the environment. Sign up for their email blasts and rewards program. Latest visit, I scored a waffle bowl filled with two scoops of my favorites. Brambleberry crips and brown butter almond brittle. Like a pie à la mode with a decadent brittle topping. So yummy! Jeni's recently opened a location in Rice Village, and it's on par with Jeni's other locations. This trip, I tried the cookie dough and Texas sheet cake flavors--I really liked the Texas sheet cake, but I won't be ordering the cookie dough again because I was surprised that there were no chunks of cookie dough, just ice cream that tasted like cookie dough. I'm giving Jeni's three stars because of the quality of ice cream and great new location, but I really think it's overpriced--we walked out paying $20 for two basic, small cups of ice cream. read more

I have zero complaints about this location. I've been multiple times and I've always been served with a smile! I truly think Jeni's tastes better at the scoop shop... dunno why. It's just so good. Sunday funday after dinner treat for the family. They changed their menu often so it was hard for the girls to decide. They picked birthday cake with sprinkles and one picked strawberry but didn't like the taste so they gladly opted out for a banana flavor instead. I got the brown butter almond and gooey butter cake, the others chose different flavors. It was very crowded but not overwhelming because they also have outdoor seating. Had to wait in a line when we walked over after dinner at Coppa Osteria, because everyone loves Jeni's... but it moved quickly. Jeni's never disappoints. The ice cream is such high quality. I always try something new if I can but my go-to is brambleberry crisp which is very hard to beat!! read more

The Jeni's on the Rice campus is super busy, but the line moves quick! I tried the Gooey Buttercake (most popular flavor) and the Tropical Bloom (mandarin orange, kiwi, passion fruit). The Tropical Bloom was sooooo good! Amazing! It has a tang and tastes better and better the more you eat it! The Gooey Buttercake is also quite nice! We loved the Tropical Bloom so much we bought a pint to bring home!! There also is indoor and outdoor seating with umbrellas! The staff at this location is also very friendly and helpful! New location in Rice village! If you're a Rice student make sure to bring your ID for a really good student discount ($9 to $6 for a small). No matter how cold it is, I'll always be in the mood for a good ice cream. Waffle cones here are superb, definitely recommend getting in a cone. A lot of interesting flavors as well as seasonal ones. I love the crunchy textures that they have in the ice cream. A little pricey without the discount but a small size comes with 2 scoops it's so worth. Our scooper was very knowledgeable about the flavors and patient with our sampling. Seating is a bit small but they're open pretty late! read more

I really like the flavors at Jeni's, and I got the blackout chocolate cake and the goat cheese and cherries flavors. I like how cute it is inside too and how it's located in Rice Village, so you can grab your ice cream and walk around, which is what we did. The service was great because he explained every flavor we sampled to us and was very kind. I like their little high top tables inside where you can also sit and eat by the windows and people watch. My only qualm is that the 2 half scoops of ice cream in a cup was $8 which I think is super overpriced. Other ice cream places that are fancy have it priced for around $5 or $6, which feels a lot more fair for the quantity you get. read more

I have been waiting for this location to open and was thrilled and surprised to find that it was! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and explained that their official opening was in a few weeks. For not being fully open, they were extremely well set up and ran extremely smoothly. The interior was decorated and spacious and cute. And the ice cream was exactly what I expected- delicious! I ordered the dark chocolate and butter cake flavors and the texture and taste were perfect and complementary! I loved the to go containers and the little waffle cone piece placed on top! I waited in line for about an hour and a half but honestly it was worth it. They had the summer seasonal flavors available a day before every other location. Once you get inside, they allow you to sample any flavor before opening. I got the toasted s'mores, brown butter almond brittle, gooey butter cake, and honey vanilla bean. They gave me very big scoops of each one that I basically made this ice cream run my dinner. My favorite was the gooey butter cake. It's a cream cheese ice cream with crumbles of vanilla cake and caramel butterscotch swirl. My second favorite was the brown butter almond brittle, it's basically the candy crushed into buttercream ice cream. There's funny chunks of almond brittle throughout that gives it a lightly crunchy texture. The toasted s'mores is one of their summer seasonal flavors. It's a toasty vanilla bean marshmallow ice cream with gooey milk chocolate and graham crackers. This Jeni's is amazing as usual. When the line was long the staff was efficient in taking orders. The ice cream is to die for. The only complaint that I have is that for the fudge, it is just drizzled on and not scooped. When I asked for extra, I was told that extra was not an option.
