Visited on a Saturday night around 7:30 with my husband. Parking wasn't the easiest. We ended up paying to park on a nearby side street and walked a few minutes to the shop. We shared The Standard, Gooey Buttercake, in a waffle cone, which came to $9.11. It's definitely on the pricey side, but I still think Jeni's serves the best ice cream in Nashville, so it's worth the splurge. The service was good. We tried a few samples, the workers were friendly and patient and the line moved quickly. Who doesn't love ice cream? If you do, Jeni's is definitely the place to go. The fact that they make the waffles fresh is a huge plus. They have a great assortment of flavors that include vegan/dairy free. It of course smells amazing in there. And the service is always quick and friendly. It had been a very long time since I stopped by for a Jeni's treat and I decided to spontaneously stop by before grabbing dinner. The staff with their ever friendly disposition greeted us and immediately with a bright gleam asked which samples I'd like to try. The line may be long, but rest assured when you are being served, you'll get 1000% awesome service! I was excited as they included new flavors ie The Biscuits and Peach Jam which was super duper delicious. It kept getting harder and harder to pick the other flavors as the Lemon Blueberry parfait, Lemon Bar which is Dairy Free, Cookie Dough a favorite, Wildberry Lavender a classic, Cherry pie (with peppercorns?!) were all beckoning to be picked. I've been to almost all the ice cream spots in town, and Jeni's is always on top of the list. Their flavors always taste exactly like their name. Fruit, chocolate, and the cake flavors have all impressed me which is a rarity for a shop to get all of them right. Employees have always been friendly to us, and get us through the line quickly. If I could leave 0 stars I would. I went to Jeni's for the first time Sunday 7/12/25 around 8pm and had a horrible experience. I wanted a non diary option which I purchased. But I also wanted a pint to take home. At the register I requested banana pudding and the cashier ( young woman with cowboy boots tattoo on her inner forearm) reached into the display case and placed watermelon on the counter. When I told her that's not what I requested she said, "oh I didn't hear you". So because you "didn't hear me" you assumed I wanted watermelon. As a Black woman this was uncalled for and unnecessary. I'm a HUGE fan of Jeni's ice cream. Whenever a new flavor drops, I have to try it. This time, they just released their spring flavors so I was able to try the Tropical bloom, the Citrus Glaze Pound Cake, and the Raspberry Rhubarb Delight. The tropical bloom is more of a sorbet and has a citrusy tropical taste to it. The citrus glaze pound cake has Yuzu in it but also has a bitter aftertaste to it in MY opinion. Maybe they put the zest or rind in that flavor. The Raspberry Rhubarb was my favorite overall as it was well balanced and had nice cream flavor. It almost reminded me of the strawberry cream savers. My only complaint would be the size of the scoops for the price. Unless this is industry standard now about 7$ for two half scoops that are very small is a bit of a stretch. In my four day trip, there's been two evenings of Jeni's...and counting (I may be back tonight?! Send help.) So much to love. Great staff amazing ice cream, and an awesome location in Hillsboro. I have tried the gooey butter cake, cinnamon, brambleberry, and maple ice creams and not a ONE has been a disappointment. It's not cheap but it is worth every penny, in my opinion. This location is packed with Vandy and Belmont students, but I haven't had any issues finding a nice spot to sit and enjoy my spoils. Staff here is incredibly patient and kind. No sampling since the COVID times, but you really can't go wrong no matter what. I love the texture of Jeni's ice cream, which is thicker and creamier. Favorite flavors include Rainbow BFY and Brown Butter Almond Brittle. You can sample as many flavors as you'd like (within reason). The parking at this location is sometimes tough. There's a garage nearby that allows free parking for up to somewhere around an hr and occasional street parking (paid and unpaid). Highly recommend! read more

This ice cream is pricey, but there are several creative flavors to choose from. The two flavors I had were great. I favored the Brown Butter Almond Brittle somewhat over the Gooey Butter Cake. The only issue I had was with the waffle cone. It was very salty and hopefully just a mistake with the waffle batter that was made. My new favorite ice cream. Wow! The Salted Peanut Butter (with chocolate flecks) was absolutely amazing. I also had the one that is something about biscuits and peach jam, and that was also super good. I don't know what took me so long to try this place, but now I totally understand why there is often a line out the door! And in addition to incredible ice cream, the waffle cones are also excellent. If you just get ice cream in a bowl they'll put a couple pieces of waffle cone on it. But next time I'm getting the waffle cone bowl so I'll have even more waffle cone to enjoy! The ice cream is so rich and creamy, and so tasty. And they have a lot of unique and creative flavors. If you like ice cream (and really, who doesn't?) you must try Jeni's. (didn't we miss that during the last couple of years? but things are back to normal). Great flavors and always a few new things rotating through the menu. I like trying to the new additions! Even when they sometimes are not something I want an entire serving of(for example, the Everything Bagel - it was definitely what you expect from an everything bagel, including not very sweet, so just not for me). But the Biscuit with Peach Jam was spot on! You can usually expect to see a line, especially on weekends when folks are out and about but don't let that discourage you.
