As a LONG-time patient (we're talking two kids and enough visits to qualify for a frequent flosser rewards program), the experience was frustrating overall. Apparently our insurance wasn't updated, which led to a very long wait and suddenly made us feel like we were trying to finance a yacht instead of a kid's teeth cleaning. I totally understand insurance issues happen, but after years of coming here, being treated like strangers trying to dodge a bill was not exactly the warm fuzzy pediatric dentist experience you hope for. So, friendly advice: triple-check your insurance before you go. They absolutely will not see you without it, and your child may have enough time in the waiting room to learn orthodontics themselves. read more

I want to say that I was so very grateful for Dr. Kelsey Martinez. This weekend my granddaughter fell at the splash park and severely cracked her tooth. She is only 21 months old and was not yet a patient of Dr. Martinez. Dr. Martinez took the time on a weekend to speak to us and consult on Lucia's case. She referred us to Children's Mercy thinking they would take good care of us. They were completely worthless and when we texted Dr. Martinez at 10 pm at night she immediately texted us back and offered to help us on Sunday if need be! She got us right in first thing Monday morning and was so amazing! Everyone was awesome and so wonderful with Lucia and us. Dr. Martinez went above and beyond for Lucia and us as well. Dr Jenkins has been my daughter's dentist for the past seven years. Most kids just tolerate going in for dental cleanings, but not my kid, she LOVES and looks forward to them. They are a large office with lots of different hygienists who are all just wonderful with Zoe. Friendly, patient, talkative, sweet girls who clean her teeth, take x-rays and pass the time with my child, who has autism by the way. First time I took my son for a check up, everything went fine, the process efficient and the dentist communicated with me. Second checkup was a major let down! After the hygienist cleaned my son's teeth we waited about 45 minutes for the dentist to finally come and do his thing, which lasted not even 5 mins. We were not the only patients left to wait interminably, forcing the hygienists and staff to entertain kids for a period of time that even they knew was too long. They kept saying he should be here and then another 10-15 mins would go by. I was very bothered that he took a siesta and left us all to dwindle our thumbs while he disappeared! I also have gone to other pediatric dentists and they were all quite thorough in the time they spent looking at my son's teeth. Mr LeBlanc is more like wam bam thank you ma'am with no personality or demeanor. This time I also got treatment plan for the cavity they said he had and needed to be filled. After looking the paper over more thoroughly, I noticed the estimated patient payment and estimated insurance payment were $40 more than the total fee of $179. I called the office and so far they are not able to explain. I then called my insurer and i gave her the code for the description analgesia, which had me paying the entire $46. Turned out this billing is for NO2, which isnt covered by my plan. I asked her what will topical anesthesia or numbing cream cost and she said she needed a code to tell me. I suggested she call my dentist and I will hold the line while you get it. She ended up telling me that I can opt out of the $46 NO2 charge and the numbing cream is free and built into the charge for the cavity. Of course, no one had bothered to inform me of that detail, so I find that to be a shady practice. So now I have 3 strikes -- the disgusting wait time between the cleaning and the dentists cursory, unfriendly examination, a treatment plan for a simple cavity that doesn't zero out and a billing not covered by my insurance that isnt necessary and that I can get for free. I will be looking for a new dentist for my son! Don't bother with these hazas, which is Yiddish for a pig that doesn't fly straight. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Beware! They will double charge you on a consist basis! I've charged copay more than one time for the same visit. Also, the wait is ridiculous. We have seen Dr. LeBlanc for years. He has a very poor demeanor. He is sometimes rude. Also, every cavity he has filled for my children has come out within a year. They are a wonderful group of professionals, from the front desk, to the girls who clean their teeth, to the Doctors who make sure everything is ok! Went from a five star to a one star. Leblanc is mean to my children. When my seven year old daughter was in pain and asked if he was done he he responded in a mean tone "yes, now go home!" Asked for another dentist and was told we couldn't see someone else. Next visit we were first ones there but numerous people called back before us. We walked out and never will go back. read more

I starting taking my 2 yr old after an accident with his front tooth with neighbor's swingset. My 2 yr old didn't know what to think and was very shy. The staff were very friendly, the office is kid friendly and conveniently located and they get us in and out in half an hour. They did only what was necessary and nothing more. I dreaded the day I would have to start taking my kids to the dentist, espcially since I don't like going. To my surprise both my kids ask to go back to Jenkins & Leblanc all the time and get jealous when the other has been for a visit. I wish I could there for myself. We have used Jenkins & LeBlanc for the past 5 years, but it is time for our family to part way with this cash cow, puppy-mill of a dentist's office. The past 3 times that I have taken all 3 of my children in for their appointments, we are at least 20 minutes late being taken back, then rushed through x-rays and "cleanings." My children have been threatened for not opening their mouths (won't get your ice cream!), have been scolded by the assistants for not being compliant (when my kids were 2, 4, and 6), and have been left sitting after their "cleaning" for 30 minutes before the dentist finally made it back to us, only to spend less than 5 minutes with us (3 kids!) and not once did he apologize, make eye contact, or even engage in conversation with me (the parent!). I realize that 2 of our 3 appointments were late in the afternoon, but I scheduled our last appointment early in the morning, and we were still late being called back. I'm also sure that my children's teeth are no cleaner after leaving there then when I personally brush them at home. Once, my son refused to let them brush on the fluoride because he was terrified, so they sent it home with me to do it! They should have paid me for doing their job :) After talking to so many of my friends who had similar experiences, I know there are much better places to be taking my kids, so no more ice cream, balloons, video games, fish tanks, and crap toys for my kids They deserve quality care. read more

Jenkins and Leblanc is horrible. They appear to be great in the beginning by hiding behind ice cream, starbucks, games and toys. My daughter was seen thee 2/7/13 for a cavity that needed to be filled. They did not have an appointment untill 4/10/13 in the mean times my daughters tooth deteriorated to the point she needs a root cancal which they do not do. They were able to bump up the appt. to 4/3 from 4/10 only to tell me that they let it go too long. Then said she needed sealants and did I want to do them then, as they seemed to be to busy to just do them, they were hoping I would say no, but I had already taken time off from work, so I had them do it so it would not be a total wasted trip. Then they didnt even find a place for her to go like most Dr.'s offices and dental offices do, and none took her insurance. They have more patients than they can handle. I called Monday 4/8 to speak with an offcie manager who was not in but was to call be back 4/9, she never did...Im still waiting. Then I called to have a referral sent to another office and they sent it to a completely different place then I asked, so I called back and no one answered which is typical and had to leave another message. They dont know thier right hand from thier left as again they have more patients then they can handle and are unable to provide quality patient care. If your smart you will not take your kids there no matter how good they make themselves look, it is just a facade read more
