My horrible shopping experience at Jenny's: If I could give this beauty supply store a rating below zero, it still wouldn't begin to capture the severity of my experience. I am not a Texas native and visited your store to exchange hair for the exact same item in a different color. The purchase had been made the evening prior, and while the receipt wasn't immediately available, we were prepared to provide Apple Pay proof of purchase. At first glance, the store appeared promising--spacious, great music, and a wide selection. Unfortunately, any positive impression was swiftly destroyed by the appalling conduct of your staff. When I approached the register, I greeted the employee with a warm "hello." I received no response. I tried again, assuming she hadn't heard me. Instead of a basic courtesy, I was met with attitude that was cold, dismissive, and flat-out rude. I informed her I needed to exchange hair, and without any customer care, she gestured me toward the customer service counter. What followed was nothing short of disgraceful. There, I encountered Nikki, who approached the situation with the worst attitude I have ever experienced in a retail setting. Without any attempt to listen or assist, she barked, "If you ain't got no receipt, I can't make an exchange." Her tone was aggressive, her demeanor completely unprofessional, and her unwillingness to even try to help was alarming. I asked for a manager, only to be shocked to learn she was the manager. Let me be very clear: the behavior Nikki displayed was not only unacceptable--it was a complete embarrassment to your brand. She lacked polish, professionalism, and even the most basic customer service skills. She did not listen, she did not offer solutions, and when politely corrected on store policy, she became defensive and threatening, stating, "I'm finna stop with this conversation cause it's gone start being combative." This is your manager. Eventually, after persistent advocacy, she handed us a contact card, slammed it on the counter, and stormed off to the back office. We completed our purchase at the front, only to find the receipt in our car minutes later. Upon returning for a refund, we were ignored at the counter. When Nikki emerged again, her demeanor remained combative, unwelcoming, and gruff--matching the poor standards she had already set. She represented your business with the kind of attitude and presentation that would make any customer think twice about ever returning. My daughter, a licensed hairstylist, will not be returning--and she will be informing her clientele and professional network to do the same. Your store is not only poorly managed--it is a textbook example of what happens when people with no business representing a brand are left unchecked. You must do better. Your staff--especially your leadership--needs urgent retraining in professionalism, policy adherence, and basic respect for customers. October 2025 6:00ish pm I've been hopping around from Jenny's to Jenny's (this would be my fourth location) to find Remi Gold hair for an upcoming hair appointment. This location had the color I was wanting, but not the inch (18). I WOULD have left with my 3 bundles had I not dealt with such a negative attitude/ impatient energy from an employee today. Pros: Big parking lot and store. It's located right off the highway (behind Burger King). From what I could tell, the store was organized. I only saw the entrance and behind the counter, because the hair I wanted was behind the counter. Security was at the front, stationed- watching. The lines moved quickly, because they have multiple employees working them. Cons- which heavily outweigh any pro that I just gave-- customer service , well the lack thereof --a major employee attitude. I didn't catch her name, so I'll give a description : Short, Asian, deeper voice that sounds "ethnic." At first, she was okay. Informative, but overly informative by stating that the price of the hair I requested would not change, although they were going to stop getting it in. She stated the cost would be going up, and no one would purchase it if they had to raise the price in store, so the price would remain the same- basically no discount... I didn't ask that information. I came in ready to spend over $300 on 3 bundles of Remi Gold. I was well aware of the price-- I just needed to SEE the color options. I asked questions about the 20 inch because the color I wanted wasn't in 18, but in 20. I was going to bite the bullet and pay an extra $20 per bundle. Why not? I finally found the color I wanted. That's when the lady started getting fly mouthed. I simply asked were there any 20 inches at the very top- I couldn't see the numbers on the bottom. She stated that from the 613 on to the left, those were 24 inches (which she again referenced the price of. And again, I didn't ask that). I told her I couldn't see where she was talking about, to which she retorted "I know because I'm the one who stocks these" or something similar; basically saying she puts them out so she knows what she's talking about. Again, I don't know where that statement came from, because it was irrelevant. I was trying to ask her about the other side of the 613, and what inch it was-and she interrupted me again to give me information I did not ask for. I needed a breather because she was taking me too fast. Her tone was naturally loud and could be taken as aggressive, and fast paced, so yes, that coupled with the fact that I kept getting interrupted when asking a simple question- I put my hands on my head. I was about to ask "All I want to know is if there are any 20 inch bundles up there at the top" but before I could even slow the pace down to ask that- she rushes off and finds this other employee (black lady) and says " Can you go over there to help her? Because she's not satisfied with me" BABYYYYYYY that's ALL I had to hear. My friend didn't even know I had left. I spun on my heel so fast. The black lady was just looking at me-- I didn't give her a chance to come over, IFFF she was even going to come over. My friend even said that the woman even said something along the lines of "I ain't got time for this" but I'm glad I didn't hear that because my patience was 100% gone after that FIRST comment. I left. And girl, bye, because I'll be damned if I spend any money in there with an attitude like that. And if that was the ONLY store in the metroplex that had the colors I wanted, I wouldn't be getting them! read more

The staff at Jenny's on Gannon are so rude and unprofessional. Such low vibration and I wouldn't have bought a thing if it wasn't necessary. I don't understand why you applied for the job and turn around and act like it's hell on earth. Well you make it hell on earth for the customers... Jenny's has changed so much there used to be lines at checkout but today I was in and out in 30 minutes. I think you should fire all of them and get a whole new positive crew. I was in store yesterday. I purchased a closure, and there was a sale sign up that read $44.99. I got to the purchase counter, and the closure rang up $59.99. When I questioned the amount, the clerk asked a Ms.Kim she says $44.99, and when the clerk told her what it was ringing up, she went to say that is the correct price. When I asked, "Well, since the sale sign is up, you must honor that price," she went and took down the sale sign. I went ahead and paid for it at the original price because I needed it. I just wanted to say that is bad business practice, and if that is how they run their business, I will not be purchasing anything else out of any of any Jenny stores. I recently purchased several $1 lipsticks, and they were taped so tightly that I eventually just threw them away. It seems like more resources--sensors, tape, and labor--are being used to over-seal products than the actual value of the items. It also leaves horrible residue on the product As a suggestion, perhaps after a purchase is completed, an employee could remove the tape before handing the items to the customer. Horrible read more

Hi, Yesterday, afternoon I visited Jenny's Supply Store located in DeSoto, TX, off of I-35 and Pleasant Run Road. While in the store, I noticed employees standing behind the register talking and laughing, not really working or trying to assist customers. I asked about braiding hair, and the employee pointed to the counter, where two other employees were. The female employee was rolling up her hair. I asked the first employee if the female employee was working, and she said, "Yes, that is the hair area". I walked over, and the female employee was sitting at the counter, brushing, combing, mousseing, and rolling up her hair in large rollers, while the male employee was sitting there looking down at his phone. I asked for assistance on where to locate the hypoallergenic braiding hair and the female employee stopped rolling her hair long enough to point in the general direction of where the hair should be and turned and went back to rolling her hair up. I walked away and tried to find what I was looking for in the direction that she pointed, since it was obvious that she was not going to get up to show me where. I did not find the hair, but while back there looking for the hair, another customer was complaining how she could not find anything either and how unhelpful the employees were. I agreed with her and continued to look for my items. The male employee finally came into the area and assisted the first customer, and she brought him around the aisle to assist me. I told him that I could not find the hair that I was looking for, and he went back up to the counter where the young lady was rolling her hair and asked her again. He came back and mumbled something to me...long story short, I located the hair. As I was walking the aisle looking for another item, a customer was exiting the store when her bag with her purchases caused the door alarm to go off. The Security guy on duty (a very large African American guy with braids or twists in his hair) looked around from his seat and asked her if she had purchased any hair, and she said no. He stated, "Aw you good." and told the customer to go ahead and leave. The Security guy never got up to check her bag or anything and was laid back all sprawled out in his chair, very unconcerned. It was at this moment that I decided not to purchase anything at this store and simply told my mom I was ready to go. I don't know who is managing this location, but the "I don't care attitude of the employees is simply alarming and disappointing. This is only the 3rd or 4th time I have visited this location, and the last time I was there, an employee was standing at the register in front of all the customers, cursing out presumably her boyfriend on the phone while the customers stood in line and listened to the conversation. I just think that management, or whoever is responsible for this location, needs to be aware of the employees' behaviors. read more

Terrible guest service. Visited the store today with my elderly mother and my young child. The girl followed me in the wig section. Then pretended to look the other way when I caught her following me. I didn't say anything. Then, when my young child touched and object that was on the floor (like lost children will) I as the parent redirected and placed the item nicely back in place. The male then came after we moved and started to place items in the same basket my child was in and watched my mom as she was trying to get item off the shelf. Its a same these people capitalize on the black community. They have not Interest in real service in our community. It took every fiber in my being not to address thier racial profiling behavior. Today was my first day visiting this store. The store is huge. I asked the lady at the counter with the facial piercings for a hair clamp and she named isle 29. I told her I didn't see it and she said they might be sold out. Then another lady from behind the counter referenced aisle 30. I ask could someone helped me incase I looked over it because it was my first time at the store. (Let me also mention that I was the only customer at the checkout counter and there were 4 people behind the counter) After asking for assistance they all began looking at one another as if to say.... I'm not doing it, are you going to do it? I told them "I'm sorry if I made yall feel uncomfortable for asking a question". And I proceeded to place the rest of the item I had on there counter and left. I will never spend a dime at any store that lack professionalism and does not value their customers. I bought a pack of extension hair with the color number 2 on it and when I got home it turned out to be 2B I came back the next day to exchange the product and they're literally telling me they couldn't exchange it because I opened it when all I did was take it out the packaging. Even after begging and pleading letting them know that I had to be to work today, they still told me there was nothing they could do. Mind you, there's no way of telling what the color is through the fuzzy plastic packaging they used. The prices are pretty reasonable too. I've met the owner of the store and she's nice and will help you find items throughout the store just as her employees do if needed. I also like the diversity of the employees that work there. Sometimes at checkout there is a little wait, but the line moves quickly. Especially if you are in to hair the selection is endless. the store is huge and they carry clothes, all kinds of hair wraps and more. So it was my 1st time visiting & the place was quite overwhelming due to there being so much stuff. They have wigs, weaves, clothes, jewelry, makeup & etc. basically whatever you need in one stop. Personally, I was on a mission to get a good quality wig & go on my way. I eventually made my way to the wig section & basically went in a circle trying to find something because I was so confused yet happy there were plenty of options. I decided to walk to the "wig help station" to about 5 women staff expecting someone to help. No, they just looked at me continued chatting amongst themselves & eating food; ZERO professionalism. Finally, one of them said how can I help you, I explained what I was looking for & she just pointed to a section then turned around. After about 20 mins, I finally found a wig I liked but of course they didn't have the shade I wanted & there was no way to order just had to wait for their next shipment whenever that is. Now, lets be clear this isn't the best area but the attitudes of the staff is RIDICULOUS! I witnessed one of the staff yell & I do mean YELL & belittle a customer who clearly was confused & needed help. She could have helped vs yell at her in front of everyone including the woman's children, the situation could have escalated drastically. While I asked for a brush while trying on wigs, a staff member attempted to put them all back & I told her no I'm still trying them on. She threw them down, rolled her eyes & said WTH & walked off -- I cannot make this up. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had in a beauty store, I'm actually glad I didn't find anything. I very quickly walked out & got some fresh air ! Customer Service: HORRIBLE! The cashier who checked me out was so unprofessional to say the least. She never once acknowledged me during our interaction and she was very busy in a personal conversation with the other cashiers, which I perceived as very disrespectful and rude. At point during the check-out process she made a sneering and disrespectful comment stating that one of the customers smelled like a cheap wig and the other cashier chimed in saying" no like a sour booty". To the managers/owners of Jenny, your cashiers at the checkout counter require extensive retraining on the basics of hospitality and professionalism when dealing/engaging with customers who spend their hard earned money at their store. read more

AWFUL. The past two times I've come to this place, there's been some sort of horrible experience. I walked into the store at 7:40pm, fully aware that they close at 8pm. I go straight to the aisle with the product I need, an announcement is made for all patrons to head to the front of the store with their items at (7:57pm). So I begin to head that way only to hear a follow-up announcement that the registers are now closed (7:58pm). I get in line, only for an employee to tell me they I cannot buy my items, but the line is closed. (7:59pm). Those in line around me begin to argue that they've been waiting in line as well and express their frustration. So the employee let's two more groups go and then no more. A huge wave of customers (all ready to spend their money and leave) are all turned away due to their service staff wanting to go home (the line "monitor" told them all to shut down their registers.) So about 6-8 people are left standing in line as the register workers all start counting their cash drawers and no one acknowledges those still in line. As the cashiers left, I could hear their complaints about the customers as they walk out to their cars at 8:00pm. And of course, there was no manager available. This is one of the WORST beauty supplies I've ever encountered. The lack of effective management and customer service is the main reason why I will never go back. read more

This is the largest beauty supply store I've ever been to. 58 aisles of hair products, hair accessories, and hair. They now have four discount wigs sections with synthetic, blends, and human hair wigs; however the downside is that they ask that you do not try on discount wigs but you pick them up and look at them. The regular wigs are fair game. Their prices are overall better than other beauty supply stores by a few bucks. They have virgin human hair bundles for under $10. The ladies here are very knowledgeable and demonstrate great customer service. I always ask for help due to the sheer size of the store. You can be in the for days but the employees can point you in the right direction. This is honestly a tourist attraction in my opinion. read more

Oh my stars! Talk about a super store. This place is massive with wall-to-wall beauty supplies. Oh and that wig selection is huge!!! I had so much fun trying on wigs to help me purchase my first wig. Before you can try on wigs, you have to buy a wig cap from them for $0.50. There are about 5 or so stations with mirrors where you can try on your wig. There are a maximum of 5 wigs you can take to the station. And baby, these prices were ridiculous (in a good way). I'm from California and I wish wigs were inexpensive out there. These wigs at Jenny were hella reasonable. For $22, I got a cute curly synthetic wig. And no it doesn't look cheap looking lol. There were a quite of few wigs that caught my eye, from straight long hair, to kinky curly to short bobs. "What kind of wig do you want?..Jenny will have it!" The fact that I spent 2 hours in here definitely tells you that there is a lot to check out, and I didn't even get to check out the entire store. I spent an hour and a half just in the wig section. It happened to me luckily I caught the mistake and told the cashier, she was very upset because she had to start over. She had a major attitude as if I had done something.
