Really disappointing. Having lived in Philly for years, these guys should change their name... Total injustice (regardless of spelling). We ordered 3 steaks, "buffalo bites" and onion rings. All of the steaks were overcooked and the sandwiches were under filled... All roll. For $8+ each... This was bad. To further disappoint, the buffalo bites, which anyone would associate as boneless wings, were actually chicken nuggets, of elementary school cafeteria quality, tossed in buffalo sauce. Onion rings were decent... All five of them at $1 each. Hopefully it was an off day... But we won't be ordering again anytime soon. read more

Wasn't expecting much as we detoured our way home from OC. Saw this place and decided to give it a try. Great selection of steak sandwiches and the food was a pleasant surprise. However, THE most impressive part of our visit was the pleasant and courteous demeanor of the guys there. Helpful, friendly, patient and courteous. These guys rocked it. Jenos used to be great, but have slowly gone downhill over the years. The portions got smaller and food became more expensive. Just seems like a place that is coasting on its old reputation while cutting corners. read more

Generally, steak joints named after places in south Philly don't live up to their names, and this place is no exception. They advertise the best cheesesteak on Anne Arundel Co, but they aren't even close. I would probably give that honor to Capri in Glen Burnie. In reality, this is just a competent sub shop, staffed by students who are more into their smart phones than working. They also have a food truck which, regrettably, visits my office once a week to reheat cheesesteaks in our lobby. If you've never had a pre-cooked cheesesteak reheated on a k-mart electric pancake griddle......well, stop by. read more

I moved to the area about 3 years ago. When I first visited Jenos I thought wow I have found the spot for great steak sub and fries. Nice fresh stuffed subs and great rolls however over the last 2 years I am shocked at how they have jacked up the prices and reduced the amount of meat dramatically. I don't mind paying there current prices but not for a good roll with such a little bit of meat. I have given them at least 5 chances and its the same. I saw a post from another customer who mentioned Capri and I 100% agree that they make a much better cheese steak. read more

In Severna Park on business and was hankering for a cheese steak. Having been all over, including the Philly area, I like to think I know a cheese steak. Jeno's is the definition of a hole in the wall- it's quite small with very little seating or waiting area. They also keep the door open, so the place can be kinda sweltering in the summer. Still, I'd put up with that and much much worse if the food is worth it. So is it? I got their cheese steak with cheddar cheese sauce- not quite a substitute for Philly's fabled cheese whiz but I've had some amazing cheddar sauce steaks before. Overall it more or less met my expectations, it almost felt like it should have been better than what it was. The meat cheese were both plenty good and the roll was especially good. The biggest factor holding it back as its size and price- the roll itself is small and there's not a lot in it, the meat-to-cheese ratio is decent but it just doesn't seem like the roll should be the main standout. Great, but not mind-blowing cheese steak. Will certainly stop by again if in the area and try another cheese with it. read more

This is a really nice place to grab a quick bite to eat.i definitely recommend to go because there is not much seating inside but outside there are some picnic tables, nice for the spring and summer. Absolutely love their steaks. It's so good. I've only had Phil's Steak and Elchin. I think Elchin tastes better. The Truck 23 Fries is basically a meal in and of itself because the portion is huge. Went to this place because we got a coupon in the local mailer. It was unbelievably expensive even with the coupon. This was also one of the most horrifically bland and under seasoned sub I have ever had. Salt and pepper would have vastly improved the meat while cooking, basic kitchen skills here. I was born and raised in Philly. I know cheesesteaks, hoagies, subs, whatever. I've eaten at Philly's best and the rest. Let's face it . . . even Philly is not what it used to be. We have recently moved to SP and are desperate for some decent cheesesteack action. Jeno's does not provide it. Prices are much too high in proportion to the proportions . . . if you know what I mean? Quality is ok (Boss/Wife had the chicken cheesesteak). SMALL amounts of meat on the sandwiches. Place/grill is simply too clean to put out a good product. No passion for food shown. No life to the place. No life to the food. They do fill orders quickly AND they do manage to empty your wallet w/o using a gun. They can't even do that in Philly. Don't go hungry and don't go w/ an empty wallet. Meh read more

Dinner and a show! This place is a little hole in the wall, a diamond in the rough! My mom and I came in tonight after seeing the sign and omg what a great find! The steak sandwiches were fresh, cooked to order and made by an extremely friendly staff (even friendlier than Chick Fil A!). My mom and I sat at the counter and watched our food get made in front of us while the workers bantered back and forth! They were so much fun and welcoming. It was refreshing to see three teens (I think) running a booming restaurant that's been around for 28 years! Definitely a must when visiting Severna Park! read more

Not much else needs to be said about this place. Great staff + high quality product = great experience. It can be a bit difficult to find if you're not familiar with the area, but it's very much worth the effort. The ribeye is sliced fresh daily and is grilled to order (does not sit on the flat top for hours) and the bread is locally baked in Baltimore City. Yep. These sandwiches hold up. I was dying for a cheesesteak (and the pregnant lady gets what she wants) so we stopped in Severna Park on our way from Annapolis to Baltimore. I wanted to eat right away but since there's not a lot of space, we took them home. After a torturous car ride, I finally got my sub and it was delicious. The fries held up too even being coated in gravy (not a good call on our part). Everything was delicious, except the gravy, which I would skip next time. We had simple cheesesteaks but next time I will definitely try one of their crazy special sandwiches. A++. read more

I'm reviewing our first time here. We have lived here for a while now and finally decided to give Jeno's a try since they are open on a Saturday late afternoon . We were headed to the trail and wanted a quick lunch. We were blown away by how kind the employees were to us. They guided us through the menu since we mentioned we were new and recommended we the "Phil's best." It was amazing. I was sad I didn't order a full sandwich for myself. It wasn't what I would have ordered for myself but my husband wanted to try it so we did and I was in love. It was a typical cheesesteak but added banana peppers and oil and vinegar. It was delicious! I was trying to convince my husband to go back to get me one more for dinner. My boys split and plain cheesesteak with provolone and loved it. They like just about nothing so it was really nice to see our boys happy and eat the whole thing. WE WILL BE BACK! The employees were so friendly and asked is we needed anything else. Their kindness made the difference for us even if we weren't regulars. Kudos to this biz! You are doing it right!! read more

Growing up in the suburbs of Philly, I was a tad reluctant to try Jeno's. I had a craving for a cheesesteak so we went. We were greeted by so many friendly people! After we ordered we were still in conversation with the employees/owners? And it was very nice. The food came out to be delicious, fries were great... We will be back to sample some more of their great food! I think they're a tad pricey but that could just be me.. We enjoyed sitting outside on the picnic table to eat. We'll be back! read more

Great cheesesteak! I didn't quite know what to expect as I am visiting Maryland from San Diego and was looking for a good sandwich of any kind. Stumbled upon Jeno's on Yelp and decided to check it out. It's def a certified hole in the wall type of joint with independent ownership and great Philly cheesesteaks. I only say Philly because they use Cheezwiz which is the only way a Philly cheesesteak is a philly cheesesteak. I got the Man Sub which was amazing. Their menu is full of all sorts of concoctions involving rib eye, chicken, bacon and other delicious items. If you're in the area it is def a good spot to check out. And if your visiting, it's def a go-to move for good subs. Also, don't mind the yelp info saying its classy attire. It's def as casual as it gets. Overall 5 stars tho. Def check it out. read more

Looking for something new and we love cheesesteaks so we gave Jeno's a shot. Was greeted by the cook when we first came in, then the young man running the register came a few seconds later. Both were super nice. Only issue I found is other then a little table out front there was no place to sit down. That problem was solved shortly after we ordered when the gentleman put an extra picnic table outside for us! Now the important part..... the steak and cheese was amazing! The steak was seasoned perfectly and the fries we got were some of the best I've had from a takeout joint. They have a good cheese steak, no doubt. But their prices are so silly that it can't be justified as there is no overhead and unless the meat is coming straight from the farm, just won't do it again. Not much different than the pizza joint ne t to Annapolis Seafood. read more
