Jeremiah's Italian Ice in Pearland was once a favorite spot for me to satisfy my sweet tooth after a meal or even to cool down on a hot summer day. Inside is narrow with seating down the length of the business[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. When they first opened, customer service was good. My last two visits have been identical in which customer service was almost nonexistent. Usually the store is busy and seem to keep the lines moving. On my last visits the store was quiet and the young kids behind the counter literally had full on conversations about their personal lives while people patiently waited in line for quite some time. They didn't even acknowledge or make eye contact with us. Good customer service in Pearland is harder and harder to find and this place proved it. That being said, their product is great. I've had Italian ice on the east coast and this place reminds of that. They have all kinds of flavors and even have mixes where they layer Italian ice with soft serve. I usually go for one of the fruity flavors in the summer and one of their chocolaty mixes for dessert after a meal. My favorite was probably the cookie butter! The treats were pretty sweet and did melt quickly but were so refreshing. The day that I tried this place was when I really really needed some ice cream in my life! And... as everyone knows, Houston's summer heat is horrendous, so ice cream was just what the doctor ordered. After scrolling, my decision to avoid Doordash was based on astronomical prices. So off to Jeremiah's I headed. The drive was decently long, but nothing to complain about. There was ample parking available upon arrival, so that was not a concern. I thought it was very cute that they offered both an outside and an inside option. It is possible to order desserts outside the restaurant, almost in the style of a movie theater ticket, if you do not wish to go inside. It's kind of like the Chick-fil-A on 59. However, since no one appeared to be working it, I went inside. My wait was only a few minutes, even though I was behind one or two people. Since this was my first visit, I was not sure which direction to take dessert-wise. I am lactose intolerant, so I knew I didn't want to defy my norm and deal with the consequences later. One of the things I enjoyed was that they provided quite a few samples. Like literally unlimited. I assume they want you to be confident of your final selection. So I tried every Italian ice option. It was generally good, but I had to chill (no pun intended) because the samples were very large, and I had to ask her to limit the quantity she gave me in the little cup. Haha. It's not a bad problem to have, though, huh? I was encouraged to try the gelati before selecting my Italian ice option. Which is a mixture of soft serve ice cream and Italian ice. Upon reviewing the available options, I did not find anything that particularly caught my attention... I left it up to her. She selected: Oreo Mud Pie Gelati: Cookies and Cream Italian ice, swirl soft serve ice cream, and Oreo cookie crumbles. It was a total and complete NOOOO for me. It was not tasty AT ALL, and it just tasted like.. mud. Like... ew. It was clear to me that I was more than convinced to have Italian ice. Sadly, they ran out of medium cups, but... I really wanted a medium. My objective was to satisfy my craving but not to go overboard or understate it. It was suggested that I have two smalls, which would be the equivalent, and I trusted her because at this point, I was over it. I chose the orange crush, the cherry, and the blue raspberry. Incredibly delicious. It was a refreshingly sugary Wonderland when I got in my car after mixing all three flavors together. Just yum! After devouring them, I began my journey home. An extremely generous company brought a boat-load of Italian Ice from this place to my work (strawberry and mango) and both were delicious. I made the trek to Pearland just a couple days later for seconds. Outstanding! The sour green apple is a divine summer cool-off. Slightly tart and a little sweet ... totally better than your average snow cone. The gelato and ice mix is just as delicious, if not more sinful. Service here is quick and courteous. The place is clean, modern and easy-in/easy-out. There are sugar free options, but nah. Even though there is a Rita's Italian Ice in a MUCH more convenient location for my normal travel route, my son and I went 30 minutes out of our way to Jeremiah's because we love their ice flavors so much. The mint chocolate chip ice is my son's normal order - I usually get the same, unless I am not getting the cookie butter. Even though they don't go together, I have gotten both flavors in a gelati before (in different layers, not mixed together). It's hard for me to branch out from those two flavors because they are so delicious. We've always gotten fantastic service, and we often have someone who I assume is a manager check on us if we are eating inside to make sure we got/have everything that we need! read more

I really like this place. It's a great place to take the kids. They have a lot of different Italian ice flavors from fruity to cakey. They even have a couple sugar-free flavors. They only have vanilla or chocolate soft serve and 3 toppings. If we could do half stars I would give them 4.5. More toppings could bump the rating. read more

This ice cream is crushed ice with flavors and with or without a swirl of vanilla, or chocolate. You can get just the swirl too in a cake cone- this is my personal favorite. The store is in an upcoming strip mall kinda place with a small seating area available inside, which, am sure they will address shortly. It is slightly in the higher price range, but, being Italian ice I guess that can be expected. The service part is handled by kids who look like they are doing a summer job and saving up for college. Absolutely love this dessert place! It's like bahama bucks but so much better in two big components - the ice cream and the ice! The soft serve is absolutely spectacular - vanilla specifically. Super creamy and delicious. The ice is also smooth and tasty. We have gotten numerous "free treat" coupons from our children's school. Up until yesterday, we haven't utilized them... personally, the amount of sugar in these treats is mind boggling*. We're not strict NO SUGAR EVER parents BUT, sugar laden treats are a very once-in-awhile indulgence. *For reference, a small Italian ice has 58-70g of sugar (i.e. 14.5 TEASPOONS -17.5 TEASPOONS), the large has 109g-134g (i.e. 27.25 TEASPOONS - 33.5 TEASPOONS. OF. SUGAR. As for soft serve ice cream, the small has 55-67g of sugar or 13.75 teaspoons -16.75 teaspoons!!! For further reference, women are urged to have no more than 6tsp of added sugar per day, men 9tsp. Jeremiah's offers ONE sugar free Italian Ice option. We sampled it and I personally liked it... just a bit disappointing seeing as they have SO MANY sugary ones. The girl working the window was ok. After expressing it was our first visit, she didn't seem grateful for having first time customerS. She briefly explained the menu. Both of my kids asked to try a flavor and she got them. When one asked to try one more, she seemed (annoyed??). Despite trying the Italian ice, our kids decided on twist ice cream cones. As for my biggest negative... the cost. The small ice cream cost $3.99. Maybe I haven't gone out for ice cream in awhile but $4 for a small seems high. Burger King offers $1 ice cream cones and McDonald's are like $1.89. I believe the small Italian ice were $3.50-ish. Meh, I wouldn't have come if we didn't have the free small treat. There is a small eating area inside and most of the seating is at picnic tables outside. They also had a corn hole board but the bean bags were split open and pellets were scattered everywhere. Only one small paper napkin is given to you with your treat. You'll need MUCH MORE with young kids. I luckily have a roll of paper towel I keep in the car because I needed more.
