Based on that positive experience, I worked with WEND on a special custom ring to celebrate a milestone birthday. Wendy was delightful at every stage of the process. I brought in some family jewelry that was badly sized for me- a large ring and a small necklace with a pendant stone. Wendy first drew some options, and then made a wax model. With my approval, she then melted down the old jewelry, took out the stone, and made a brand new ring with a lot of family history and energy behind it. It takes a lot of trust to give old jewelry to be melted down and Wendy really delivered. I LOVE my new ring and get so many compliments on it. I am really eager to come back to Wend and get another piece from them in the future-- especially intrigued by the line of pebbles dipped in metal. I took in a wedding ring crown that has 5 diamonds on it since I had lost one of the diamonds. Upon bringing it in, Josh let me know they could fix it and was already bagging it up without even giving a quote. I then asked for a quote since I'd gotten one from the original maker of the ring. I had let him know the quote he gave which was $390-425 was higher than what they quoted. But ultimately decided I'd rather have it fixed locally than send it out since I didn't want to wait (which I voiced verbally). He took a closer look and said they could do it for $425. I said okay because after shipping costs, it would only be ~$40 more than sending it to the maker. He said okay, and that he'd pick out the diamond today and I'd have it back the following week. 2 full weeks went by before it was ready so I was already a bit annoyed since that was likely the same turn around if I mailed it to the maker! But then when I went to pick it up, the price was $595+tax. I asked why the price difference (and refreshed his memory on our convo at drop off) and he just said okay we can do it for $495. So not only did it take just as long, but in the end after tax I spent over $100 more than what I would have spent if I sent it to the maker.
