John and Brandy were wonderful guides. Great half a day on the scenic Rogue River. The information provided on the tour was nice and informative, but you aren't overloaded with too much talking and we were able to simply enjoy the beauty of where we were. Stopped for lunch in Agness, and I think we picked the better of the two restaurant options from what I could gather from the rest of our group. They give you 90 minutes for lunch so we were able to sit down and not feel rushed. We even got time for dessert--amazing Marionberry cobbler a la mode! The ride back was mostly quiet so we could enjoy the sights and sounds of rolling down the river. Don't be fooled! This isn't an up and down sort of trip! We made plenty of stops to look at the local wildlife. On our particular trip we got to see blue herons, turkey vultures, egrets, bald eagles, a raccoon, and a handful of harbor seals. If you are traveling to the South Oregon Coast, make sure you plan a trip with Jerry's Rogue River Jet Boats. We did just the 64 mile tour, and I wanted more! Next time I will go back for the white water excursion. It was so much fun and the scenery is amazing. We saw plenty of wildlife, including 2 black bear! Our pilot was very knowledgeable. They have a smooth operation that runs efficiently and the boats are kept very clean. We were given 3 lunch options and went with Cougar Lane. It was ok. Nothing exciting. Next time I will try one of the other places or pack a lunch and eat by the river. read more

This was a fun boat trip for our group. We had people all ages and even my 20 month old had fun. We saw a lot of wild life, more than I would have thought. Seals, bald eagles, turtles, a beaver, a bear....I was impressed with how much we saw. The boat ride itself is pretty tame if you've been around boats your whole life like I have but it wasn't boring. I guess I'd say my only complaint is that the 4 places they have to choose from when you eat are over priced for what they are. I guess they can do that since they are in the middle of no where and you really don't have a choice. read more

Couldn't have had a better day!!! The boat ride was awesome and informative, the driver was very nice and helpful we did the 67 mile mail ride and it was the perfect length for my two daughters ages 10 and 12. The driver did some 360s and got us wet a couple times we loved it! We stopped halfway and had a lunch buffet delicious home-cooked food from singing springs! We were able to sit outside on a beautiful sunny day and eat our meal it was an amazing experience that I plan to do again next year! I would be even be into taking one of the longer trips. I also love the town of Gold Beach it was small but all the people there were friendly and helpful. read more

On July 24 we made the 11:30 am 104 mile tour with John on the Rogue boat. The week before we had driven to Agness. On the way we saw a black bear and her 2 Cubs. At Agness we chose to eat lunch at Cougar Lane Lodge. We planned to eat at Singing Springs on the jet boat tour. Our boat captain John said we "would" eat at Cougar Lane. He did not give us a choice. All the other tour boats were taking some of their passengers to Singing Springs. Does John receive $ from Cougar Lane?? read more

I cannot tell you how much fun this was! Court was amazing, fun & informative! I highly recommend doing this if you are anywhere near Golds beach! Beautiful sights, we were taken to a lodge hallway up, the food was great and cocktails hit the spot! Highly recommended! read more

This was great fun did the 80 mile dinner ride, wish had done the 120 mile as the rapids were not harry like I thought they would be, we left the dock it was not the best day of weather, cool and drizzly, it did get warmer as we went up river, not to worry we dressed in layers and Jerry's has really nice coats they loan out or for under 35.00 you can buy a nice coat with the Jerrys logo to take home. They have nice blankets on the boat, and snap on light weight tarps if it really starts to get wet. Our ride stopped for dinner at Lucas Lodge and it is really the best out of all 3 places read more

I did this as a kid and waited 50 years to do it a second time. I wish I hadn't waited so long. Really enjoyed it. Relaxing, beautiful scenery, fun and we lucked out and got perfect weather. We had to do the shorter ride because the river was low and the boats couldn't safely do the farther upstream rides with the rapids and whitewater. I still enjoyed it. Our boat pilot was John Carl, a local fella raised in Agness. He talked a little about living in a remote area with only 125 residents. Very interesting person and made our trip more fun. Saw many birds of all kinds. Got some good close-ups of eagles, ospreys, river otters. We chose to eat at Singing Springs. It appeared to be much older than the Cougar Lodge. Even tho it was old it had a charm to it. The cook told me about how she makes her soup of the day and today it was pea with ham. Excellent soup. I also liked the pulled pork. read more

WOW!! This was only the second day of our 10 day road trip through Oregon and it may all be downhill after this jet boat ride!! My face hurts from smiling all day. Did the 104 mile trip and was glad we did. Saw eagles, osprey, otters and even 2 bears. Weather was beautiful all day, a little cool on the coast but were in t-shirts once up the river. Our guide was Jeff and his dog Sadie. Excellent driver and a wealth of knowledge of the river history and the area. Better than a ride at Disneyland spinning donuts and racing through the rapids and felt safe the entire time. Boats very stable. read more

The many reviews pretty well tell the story. A sort of Disney Land attraction without the "safety net" giving it a more realistic thrill. We made this trip up the wild Rogue River some 30+ years ago and I never forgot the white water thrills and wildlife along the way. The boats are a bit bigger and more powerful but the drivers are still entertaining and very proficient. Yes, you do get wet, but not completely drenched and you dry very quickly. Imagine standing up in the back of a convertible going 40 or 50 mph down the road, that's what the wind feels like for parts of the trip. We started out cold, then got hot, then back to cold. We did the 80 mile trip and you get a bit more wet on the 104 mile trip. We saw river otter, deer, bald eagles, bear, various birds and salmon caught by local fishermen. I agree with another reviewer that the lunch break could have been 30 - 40 minutes less than the hour and 25 minutes scheduled. We paid $70 each but using a 1050 horsepower jet boat uses a lot of fuel! The trip made me appreciate our river patrols in Vietnam, how exposed you feel to what could be on shore!!! We were gone from the dock for 5 1/2 hours. read more

Fabulous! We had never been to the Oregon coast before and rented a condo in Brookings in mid May of 2016. Gold Beach is a short drive away, so we headed north to see the sights. We passed Jerry's Rogue Jets and thought it might be something fun, so we stopped to check it out. So glad we did!!! We were welcomed warmly, got all our questions answered and booked the 104 trip for the following day. Oh, yes, and we purchased wonderful weatherproof jackets for an excellent price before we left. We arrived at the designated time the next morning, dressed for a cool start, but with layers to be removed if it was warm upriver as had been suggested. We had a marvelous guide who mixed history and local color with humor and who was obviously extremely knowledgable of the area and the river. We stopped to check with fishermen to see their catch along the way, but it was not a good day for them. We learned about the 3 sections of the river we would travel - scenic, recreational, and wild. Every section was enjoyable. Our guide thrilled us with 360 degree spins and managed to get us splashed for time to time. We saw magnificent eagles, osprey and blue heron. Our lunch in Agness was delicious and by the time we stopped there, we were glad to shed some of our outer wear. We are so glad we took this trip and would recommend it for everyone. read more

Would definitely recommend Jerry's Rogue Jets. The first portion of the 104 mile trip was about the history of the river; the second leg of the journey was a soaking blast, filled with spins, waves, and splashes. We didn't get to see much wildlife that day (Probably a hit or miss) however, we did get in a few water fights with several kayak groups. The drivers navigated the river with ease and were respectful to fellow river enthusiasts. If I had one recommendation for the business, it would be to wash down the life jackets, they're a little ripe. Will definitely do again. read more

we signed up for the 80 mile ride - it was a great ride, with great narration and story telling by captain tim. quite skilled at spotting wildlife and letting us know, making stops (sometimes suddenly!) so we could catch animals in action. bald eagles, osprey, mink, seals, egrets, geese, etc. everyone was expecting and hoping for a wild ride, and he made sure we got not only wet, but soaked. then after we dried off a bit at the lunch break, took some care in not getting us drenched again. the ride was wonderful, and the weather was cooperating so it was all in all a spectacular day. read more

Jerry's Rogue Jets was the highlight of our vacation to the Oregon coast. We chose the 80 mile trip, which lasted about 6 hours and we had a great time. The morning cruise up the river and was nice and scenic, but after our bathroom break was when things really got crazy. We hit the rapids portion of the river and our driver would go back and forth through the rapids, which was great. You definitely get wet, so bring a light rain jacket. The driver would also do multiple spin outs, which were a lot of fun. We had lunch at Singing Springs, which was a nice BBQ buffet with lots of options and fantastic homemade rolls. By the afternoon, it was pretty warm, but our drive kept us cool by flying down the river and splashing us every so often. I would definitely recommend the 80 or 104 mile tour as the rapids were the best part of the trip and the shorter excursion doesn't hit any rapids. read more

Went to this place in Mid July. It was definitely a fun experience. We took the 80 mile whitewater trip (goes 40 miles upriver and back) on a jet boat. When we got there in the morning it was cold and kinda windy. There is plenty of free parking available in front of the ticket office. We checked in were set to go. They have jackets available in the office and blankets on the boats, if you want to borrow them as extra protection from the splashing water. You don't need them for long, as it gets fairly warm the further upriver you travel. Got to see lots of wildlife and beautiful views of the river and the canyons. On our particular trip we saw deer, osprey, eagles, beavers and even a baby black bear! Our pilot was friendly and informative and made the whole trip enjoyable by doing fun turns and spins on the boat. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone traveling anywhere near Gold Beach! read more

Its an unusual and interesting trip as well described by other reviewers. If you enjoy going to an amusement park with rides where you get sprayed with water, and if you like that to happen several times in a cold wind, then the Rogue Jets are for you. While the cold wind when you near the mouth of the river is a given and to be expected being regularly sprayed with cold water in 360 degree turns is not. Beware this is not an option in making your decision to go on this exciting boat ride. read more

This was a great vacation stop over on our way down the coast. John and his dog Brandi were great. We did the 80 miles trip and for the 3 of us it cost like $220.00. Expensive but fun and John skillfully operated the boat that only years of experience can bring. The 80 mile trip actually takes only about 2.5 hours but they drop you off at a required stop on on the river at a food place that they have a deal worked out with to deliver a captive crowd. They make you unload for an hour or more, then walk about 150 yds up a steep hill. Maybe a 15 minute bathroom break would be good but nothing more is needed. So you end up on a 4.5 hour trip. They have lots of outdoor seating at the for paying customers at the food stop (has road access) but if you decide to bring your lunch in a small back pack there are limited options for seating but they do have a bathroom. Of course John said we would leave at specific time and we did but ended up having to go back because 3 people (together) can't tell time as they were left. The actual boat trip is great and certainly a must do if there but the mandatory hour long stop over I could do without. A sweat shirt and a rain jacket help, they loan you a rain jacket at the tour shop which you turn in afterward. Don't forget the Tip to John when done. They put about 28 people on this boat with us that morning. read more

We did the 104 mile White water Excursion, with Darren has the pilot. An 1100 horsepower jet boat pushes 40 people along at up to 50 miles an hour. Darren who is also the grandson of Jerry was quite entertaining and very experienced on the river handling the jet boat. I would have given it 5 stars but the speakers in the back where I was sitting could not be heard. Darren had a lot of interesting information but it was very hard to hear him in the back seat row. read more

DON'T DO IT! Our hotel recommended the 6 HOUR tour. There were only first row and last row seats available so we chose first row, less windy but WAY TOO BUMPY for my injured back. Driver liked doing nauseating 'spins' (maybe 5-6 would be ok, but 30?) no one applauded or yelled after these!? Spent WAY too much time on 20 little waterfalls so had to SPEED home making hurricane force winds(were in last row now) folks loosing hats, eyes watering, freezing. AWFUL. read more

Having never been on a jet boat I was so nervous. But very excited. Tim was our boat driver/guide. HE WAS AMAZING!!!! And so funny!!! He slowed for nature so we could take pictures (bald eagles, Hawks, deer, etc) and kept us all laughing and entertained the entire time (about 4 hours on the actual river not including the lunch stop). The scenery was so amazing (yes, I use the word amazing a lot when I'm impressed), and did I mention how awesome Tim was? That guy just made the trip. It would've been great regardless, the boats are fun, the nature is gorgeous, lunch in Agnes was awesome, but Tim was so funny he just made the trip so much more special!! I'm so glad he was our boat pilot for my first time on the river (although he has made it hard for any other company to impress me). We will be back in Gold Beach next year and will do it again for sure. And it doesn't matter which of the three amazing trips I have to buy tickets for I'll be asking for his boat. If you've never done this you have to try it. It gets warm in summer so dress cool but maybe a jacket just in case your boat does spins and dives and you get completely soaked. you must do this if you're in the area. we did the 80 mile trip. starts off as a slow cruise. you make a short bathroom stop up the river. then head to the rapids. you will get wet! very wet!!! of the three places to stop for lunch we picked Singing Springs. we brought our own lunch but this is a great little spot overlooking the river. and they had like five different draft beers available. saw lots of wildlife. worth the price. read more
