This is my first time to patronize this location. Parking is free and easy in the shared Publix lot. I don't have their app, so I choose to order from the counter inside. Service was friendly and efficient. I ordered the Jersey Shore #2 combo, the Super Sub #5 combo, plus two of the Tuna Salad #10 combos. The fountain drinks are Pepsi branded. They offered two unique flavors that my household loved, the Root Beer and the Vanilla Cream Soda with Agave Syrup. Delicious! The sandwiches were fresh and the bread was good. I love Jersey Mike's subs and i usually get one about once a week ( always the giant sub). Well on March 31st, i placed an order online for a giant original Italian and chips with drink. I always order my subs without onions or mayo. After I'd gotten home, i found who ever made my sandwich put a mountain of mayo on my $18 sandwich. I called the store to inform them of their error and greeted by one bad attitude after the next. They offered NO solutions or customer service...plus they all refuse to give thier names nor give the manager's name. Please help me find some compensation and resolve in matter. read more

Yesterday I ordered a sandwich on the app to go and once I got home the sandwich was on the wrong bread and no tomatoes. I try to call but the voicemail was full. Also, there was a really bad storm outside so I didn't want to go back to the store. I went back today and the store said they couldn't do anything for me because I ate the sandwich. They let me know that they didn't have the bread and I asked why I wasn't told when I picked up the sandwich. The staff was really rude and called me baby. Ordered a giant veggie sub via Uber Eats with only cheese, lettuce, tomato & onion and it's basically a BREAD sandwich. There is literally a sprinkle (maybe less than that) of veggies and I paid about $30 for this sandwich, not to mention they didn't even include the chips I ordered. Never again! Hold on, this is not going to be short: Why is the majority of the staff at store #5017 at 2020 Howell Mill Road in Atlanta constantly and unrelentingly condescending & rude? In late July, expecting to have a great sub for a lazy Sunday afternoon lunch, I was served with a heaping attitude of bile. Let me recount how this experience was one of the worst I have ever had yet at his location: Let's begin with the full extent of my order: a #17 Philly cheesesteak with extra mayo, lettuce, and tomato. That's it. This is, in fact, my normal order. No-fuss, no muss. The gentleman who took my order, a man roughly 5' 10", bald and with a close-cropped beard, joked in front of two other customers ahead of me that I was ordering "a hamburger." He has done this once before, supposedly jokingly but with a great deal of sarcasm. I laughed it off and corrected him that I was ordering a cheesesteak. He then insisted, while looking at the couple in front of me, that I was ordering "a hamburger." Once again, I corrected him a bit more firmly but still joking. He then looks at me and says "a hamburger and if you look at the menu you see what we serve." Now completely annoyed, I said, "What I ordered is what is on the menu: a #17." That is when he looked at me again while working on the order of the customers in front of me, said "If you wanted a hamburger you could have gone to McDonald's [across the street.]" At this point I said, clearly annoyed, "Don't worry, I still can." The gentleman didn't say anything. If that wasn't bad enough, then everything went off the rails. The woman who was one-half of the couple proceeds to goad the gentleman by saying as if I wasn't there and referring to me, "He reminds me of one of my old managers." This then sets off the gentleman who took my order and was preparing theirs at the time. Very loud and very passive-aggressively, he proceeded to talk about how he needs a sense of humor in his job, how Jersey Mike's only prepares their subs and sandwiches a certain way; how some customers come in and ask for subs with a mix of hot and cold meats which Jersey Mike's cannot do for health reasons per the health department; how a lady from New York came in with an outrageous attitude and made unreasonable demands; and -- most insultingly -- he tried to group me, an African American man, to a racist white man who had come into the store and called him the n-word ... but he served the racist with a smile because it's his job. As he finished their large ham sub, the gentleman made another reference to New York and "how we do things in the South" (which I have no idea why since I'm a native of Arkansas and a resident of Atlanta for over two decades). Then he said how, in the state of Georgia, all HE is required to do is to serve a customer or not serve a customer, as he illustrated by pointing at the door. After all, he repeated, he needs to keep a sense of humor because at the end of the day all he has to do is go home. This all seemed to delight the woman; her companion smiled and was quiet. After being nice and solicitous to the couple as they paid, the gentleman then asked me -- in what we "in the South" refer to as "nice-ty" -- if I was ready to check out. I paid for my order and he left me with a "Have a blessed day" that was also the equivalent of what we "in the South" refer to as the equivalent of "Go to hell." The only person at this location who has ever been remotely nice and displayed any kind of customer service skills is the young man in the back kitchen with locs/twists who made my sub. In the few visits I have made there when he has been working, this young gentleman has been pleasant and professional. I say this because there were only two people on duty and I do not want the wrong person to be unfairly blamed. His co-worker, however, was absolutely over the line. When it comes to fast food and fast-casual dining, I completely understand the demands placed on front line workers. Customers can make outrageous demands. They can be extremely rude. As I point out to others, there are times when a front line worker or server just has a bad day. So I always try to give people a little slack. But this behavior was completely unacceptable in any setting, for any reason, especially in front of a paying customer spending a near-premium price for a takeout sub. I have no idea if I will ever cross the threshold of a Jersey Mike's again. It's not out of the question that I will. But I will not patronize this location. Please make an effort to address not simply this kind of unacceptable behavior, but also the kind of culture that makes this specific location such a consistently unpleasant experience. This worker compared ME to a white racist who called him a "n*gg*er." I do not know when I have ever been THIS angry. What course of action was taken against this employee? It turned out none. Nothing aggravates me more than driving to a takeout restaurant that advertises a closing time only to find out it's actual not true, entirely dependent on the employee who stops taking orders early to breakdown their equipment, put the food away and cleanup so they that they can walk out the door at the stated closing time. There were 4/5 employees behind the counter when I came in & not one said a word to me except "what do u want". The Mail lady came in & they greeted her and asked her how she was but continued to ignore me and give rude looks. In addition to this the sub was literally thrown together. The toppings were everywhere the older lady wasn't even looking when she put the buns together & the sand-which completely fell apart. Not to mention the lady working cash register grabbed my cash with her gloves on and then continued to touch food with the same gloves. The staff at this Howell Mill location is horrible. I've been a vegetarian for the majority of my life and always found other Jersey Mike's very accommodating. A few years ago, Jersey Mike's removed the hot veggie sub from the menu. They have added a new sandwich that contains portobello mushroom which I cannot eat. When I asked to have this removed from the sandwich and just have vegetables, they refused. I asked if I could have a steak and cheese sub and removed a meat AND you can still charge me for the steak and cheese and they said no. I've spoken to other jersey Mike sub employees including the manager of the North Druid Hills location who used to work at this location and he agreed there is absolutely no reason why they can't accommodate my request. They have the green peppers and onions on the cold line even if it was premixed for hot items. Every other Jersey Mike's accommodate this request. Why would it be any different for this Howell Mill location?? I guess Which Which down the street will get my business. Sandwich maker not a wearing mask properly over his MOUTH or at all over his nose. This went on for the entire 15-20 minutes that I had to chase down an overdue online order and had to go in and stand inside while I watched him make sandwiches for several walk-ins (who all came in well after my online order was overdue) all while he was UN-MASKED :-( blegh - I threw mine out after I finally got my sandwich and left. Sadly, I need to post this. It's my first yelp review. This was a really 'weird' experience a little while ago and I took some time to simmer down but... I'd been a loyal customer of this location for years. Then I did an on-line order that was simply ignored. I finally went into the store which is what I was obviously avoiding. I learned that the 2 staff working were placing the to-go orders on the top of the deli meat case - not the new shelving just inside the door. I looked for mine but no luck. There was another on-line orderer and a food delivery guy all waiting inside too. The 2 staffers served many walk-ins while ignoring the online pre-order customers standing around waiting with no care that we had to come inside during a pandemic. Which we were trying to avoid - obviously. Maybe the online order 'operations' is a training issue but the NO MASK covering his MOUTH and nose while making sandwiches is just beyond explanation. Unbelievable. Sad that a food industry worker would be that careless right now. For the record, the 2nd staffer had her mask on properly but she was doing the register and back/kitchen stuff. Been a Jersey Mike's customer for 10+ years and have dined at locations from Alpharetta to College Park. I won't be back to this one. The one closest to my job usually has one person working and the line out the door, this was the next most convenient for lunch. Walked into a woman at the register yelling at customers about giving them a bag. Everyone in the store thought it was funny (including myself and co-worker) and I figured this is a step up from the other place we just left, at least there was more staff. We stand in line, and another person walks in behind us. We have not been acknowledged or greeted by anyone. The woman who was yelling about the bags sees the person behind us I guess she was a "regular customer" and proceeds to take her hot sandwich order. Never asked if me or my co-worker were interested in a hot sandwich at all (co-worker was) and I made the comment of about if they were going to take our order since we were there first. I have been to many a Jersey Mike's and its typical for them to ask if there is anyone in line that wants a hot sandwich and take their orders. But not this way. Yelling past other customers who were there first. The woman behind us heard me and said "I always order a #16." Ok, so that makes it ok for us to be ignored and for your sandwich to be made before ours? I did not engage with this person at all and my co-worker left in disgust to go to another restaurant in the shopping center. I didn't feel like I should be eating in there based on this but I had already been to one location and I cannot spend my entire lunch hour hunting for a Jersey Mike's with more than one person working or that practices good customer service.
