And Capriotti's Sandwich Shop, is the perfect example. Capriotti's Sandwich Shop is known for its slow-roasted turkey subs, especially the "Bobbie," which was voted "The Greatest Sandwich in America" by AOL.com. The Bobbie features homemade turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and mayo on a soft roll. Capriotti's also roasts whole turkeys in-house nightly, hand-pulls the meat, and makes its own meatballs and coleslaw.  After discovering the hideout of this outstanding sandwich shop, and receiving many positive feedback from my friends that have eaten there, I drove up to the place to discover first hand one of Cave Spring's greatest secret. From the design of its outdoor sign to its interior design and decor, this sandwich shop calls attention to its focus on quality and uniqueness, and in being the best of the best. For example it uses American Wagyu Beef for its Cheese Steak Sub and Restaurant News has named this the Best Sandwich in Vegas. As soon as I entered, I was impressed by all the colorful signs with photos of their amazing sandwiches and references to the awards they have received, and how one of them even made a fan "cry while eating" it. One of their employees warmly greeted me and after I asked him, explained how was the ordering system. There was a size display sign to help you get a sense of the different sizes, and then high above there were three lit up menus of items from where to choose from. I ordered an American Wagyu Cheese Steak medium Sub, with fries, and a softdrink. After paying, I was given a paper cup to go serve myself my drink while they started preparing my order. In the meantime I walked around and documented the place with photographs and video clips to make my review more lively and real to the readers. When I was called to pick up my order. It came in an aluminum tray on top of a piece of paper. The Sub on one side cut in half anf the fries on the other side. I was first impressed by their fresh and soft bread, then by the quality of their meat and ingredients, and lastly by their fries. Their texture was crispy and light to allow you to eat them all without feeling heavily full. I immediately downloaded their app to take advantage of their reward program because for sure I knew I would return. I found out that they also offer catering and brought home a brochure about it. Their French bread is baked fresh throughout the day, and never served more than four hours old. It is a signature item at Jimmy John's, and often called "Jimmy bread." The Italian Night Sub contained hand-sliced salami, capocollo and smoked ham, topped with Hellmann's® mayo, fresh-sliced lettuce, onions, oil & vinegar and oregano-basil. It had tangy Pulled Pork, Black Forest Ham, and Swiss Cheese with Yellow Mustard and Pickles served on a Toasted Baguette. It was so good that every time I ordered out, I kept on ordering this sandwich at McAlister Deli. Then all of a sudden one day when I went to their website at DoorDash I noticed it was missing from the menu there. I contacted the restaurant manager to inquire as to why it was missing. She agreed with me that this was one of their most delicious sandwiches, but told me that sometimes Corporate changes the menu and removes some items, and that in the future they can also bring it back. So I thanked her for her feedback and told her to look at her records and see all the times that I had purchased this sandwich from their Deli, since actions speak louder than words. I then contacted their corporate office to inquire as well and they gave me the same answer. So I had to resign myself to be without that sandwich anymore and stay just with the memories of how good it had tasted when I was fortunate enough to have tried it. Tonight, when I was looking for sandwich places to order a sandwich delivered. I said to myself (since I'm a person of high Hope), let me look at the McAlister Deli site and see if by any chance (although many of times I had repeated this action with no results) they had brought it back. After all, in this Holiday Season anything is possible for those who believe. And you wouldn't guess what happened next. Right there, in their menu, was my favorite sandwich, that I had wished for for so long. Needless to say, I went and ordered it right away through DoorDash without even thinking to go to their website and ordering it from there like I used to. It's a distinctive step that gives the sandwich its signature crust and is essential to what makes it a true Cuban sandwich. I truly hope that when the management of the restaurant reads this review, they take steps to see that this doesn't happen again. Housed in a large brick building near Crossroads in Roanoke, Virginia, the front of the building faces Hershberger Rd and has large windows and an outdoor seating area to use in good weather. On the back side of the building the drive through is located and a large parking lot. The entrance to the restaurant is on its side under a bright red and white sign high above. As I entered the place was very clean and two low walls guided you to the ordering counter. Above the counter is the menu and customers stood there reading the menu and picking their order. When it was my turn to order, the friendly order taker answered some questions I had and I ordered a Burger tray with Onion Rings and Slaw, a Peach Cobler Shake, and an extra Cook Out Hot Dog. The order was efficiently taken and charged and then I moved in front of a window on the side to wait to be called to receive my order. After having my order, I picked a table and went to sit down. Even though the size of the burger was not too big, the bun was fresh and soft, and the beef patty was also very fresh. Later I found out that they make their own meat patties from fresh ground beef daily and distribute them to the restaurant. They are never frozen. The quality of the food and reasonably low price seem to be the key to attracting loyal customers. Watching the happy customers coming in as I was eating, made me think back of my childhood, and how much I would enjoy eating an inexpensive hot dog or hamburger at a cook out. It doesn't take an expensive restaurant or food to have an amazing dining experience. The four onion rings served were also were enough, considering the price. The Peach Cobler was very good but too thick to drink with a straw. I got a spoon and ate it like an ice cream with the spoon. At the end, I enjoyed my dinner, was relatively full, and spent very little money having quality food. And I discovered the secret to all the happy return customers that keep frequenting this restaurant. So for all of the above reasons, I recommend this place. Chicho's Subs is located in the Historic Roanoke City Market Building in Downtown Roanoke, Virginia, together with 8 other local restaurants. Most of which are set-up as Malls Food Courts, where you order, pay, and pickup your food at their window counter, and then you go to the tables and chairs dining area located in the middle of them all to have a seat and enjoy your meal. When I approached the enlarged poster of their menu, I was attracted to the amazing, creative selection of food items, many named after local attractions such as: "The Star," "Greenway Chicken," and "The Roanoker," to name a few. If this wasn't enough the menu had a section titled "Peruvian Burgers and More," with appetizing items such as "El Monstruo," "Pan con Pollo," "Royal Hamburger," and their original "Salchipapas." For those who like to eat light they also have a Salad selection, as well as a Wings selection. Their three Lunch Special are very convenient for lunchtime. They include chips & a drink. For those who like Cold Beers, especially during a hot Summer day, they also have a nice selection of beers, and even a few wines, which are displayed behind a glass wall on the counter. It didn't take long for the owner of this small but amazing local business to approach me from behind the counter and give me a warm welcome. After I found out he was Peruvian, and by the way I love Peruvian Cuisine, I began speaking to him in Spanish and enjoyed our conversation of his restaurant and all the other services they provided such as Catering, Ordering To Go over the phone for easy pick-up, and Door Dash, among others. He also explained more in detail some of their most popular items in the menu, highlighting their Freshness and Made to Order. It was a Special Sandwich prepared in a fresh hamburger bun and contained an American Wagyu patty, tomato, lettuce, cheddar cheese, fried egg, hot dog, bacon, potato sticks, with the works (mayo, ketchup, mustard, tartar sauce, and home made hot sauce). I arrived around 6:00 pm for dinner, as the gray clouds started to form. But even before I walked in, I ran into a customer walking out carrying his box of pizza and looking so happy and satisfied. So much so that I told him who I was and asked permission to take a photograph to include in my review, and he gladly obliged. Then I looked at all the signs they had on the windows and proceeded to walk in the restaurant. It had a comfortable feeling to it and you could tell that almost all the customers there were repeat customers. I saw a menu on the wall and began to study it. When it was my turn to order at the counter a very friendly and kind young lady greated me and took my order. I ordered an 8 inch Bellacino's Pride Pizza as my main entrée. It contained pepperoni, ham, sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, onion, black olives & mozzarella cheese. To drink they had Pepsi products so I had a regular Pepsi with free refills. As I waited I saw that all their employees worked closely together in teamwork. When my food was ready one of their employees brought it out to my table. That was a welcome gesture since in many pizza places you have to get up and get it. The Pizza was 8 inches, just the right size for one person. In most places they don't have this size.
