Living in Chico for one and a half years, I've had my share of sandwich places. After leaving, the only one that sticks to my mind is Jersey Mikes. Not only are the sandwiches to die for, but it's the service. No bratty college students work here. Employees will make you feel like you're home. They'll make sure to treat you well unlike other places. Back to the subs. I eat at Jersey Mikes A LOT even after moving. Try it Mike's Way! If you're not a fan of the regular amount of juice, ask for it lightly on the sandwich. It still tastes just as good. I love love love their Chipotle Mayo on just about anything. I love the Club Supreme, Tuna, Reuben, and basically everything else. I miss their Cali Club since I moved up north and it's exclusively in CA. Oh, and their dill pickles. Best. EVER. In comparison to other out of state locations, Redding and Chico have outstanding service and the sandwiches are absolutely beautiful. Best in Chico. read more

I love Jersey Mike's! Not only do they have great sandwiches (Philly Cheese being my favorite) they have great employees. I know that some of the reviews below said the employees were rude, but if they had talked to the manager they may have gotten their issue resolved. Jersey Mike's also gives back to the community. I am a Director for the Homeward Bound Military Family Support Services and they Jersey Mike's chose our charity to give back too in 2014, the donation was aweseome and we appreciated working with them. Thirty minutes waiting on a sandwich while delivery services came and went. Despite asking, staff remained oblivious to my order. Staff baffled as to refunding money when I finally got tired of waiting and said "screw it". Definitely a problem with organization and the realisation that a customer standing at the counter is worth as much as a Door Dash customer. Forget this place. read more

I went in on my birthday this past Saturday June 27th at 11AM. I asked the young guy at the counter with brown hair about the free sub that I am supposed to get on my birthday. I said that I wasn't sent a code for a free sub from the app this year for some reason. I then stated that I have been a Jersey Mike's customer from NJ for the past 20+ years and on the app and receiving the code every year except this year. When I asked him so what can you do for a loyal Jersey Mike's customer, he said that he doesn't f*ckin' know what to do. I then proceeded to say "how dare you swear at me" and how unprofessional he was. He then ran in the back and hid and I left with my caretaker. He disrespected a handicapped individual on their 55 birthday who only wanted a sub from their favorite place that brings them a little bit of Jersey, every once in a while. That type of behavior is not to be tolerated. I sure didn't tolerate it and I'm sure that the fine folks at Jersey Mike's won't either. Jersey Mikes generally makes a pretty good sandwich. But apparently they have a secret menu item dedicated to the Beatles; "The Yellow Submarine" sandwich. Basically they take any sub and they put way way to much mustard on it (don't worry no charge for extra mustard). I ordered a sandwich this past weekend and it had so much mustard on it all the meat looked yellow. I had to throw a $15 dollar sandwich away after 2 bites..Jersey employees please take pride in your work, customers deserve better read more

Jesus christ this was the BEST birthday ever. I walk in, staff are super friendly, I notice that one of them has a dodger hat, and we start talking about baseball. I order my regular, and then I tell them it's my birthday when I go up to pay. They INSTANTLY give me everything for free, including a drink. I mix the root beer with pepsi, and it was delicious. The sandwiches there are also made with so much quality, it's amazing. I was also relieved since I didn't have to pay 40 dollars for a sub sandwich. The staff is super friendly, nice enjoyable, and that alone PLUS the quality burned into it, made right in front of your eyes, gives it ABOVE 5 stars. Jersey Mikes, Incredible! The giant sandwiches are buy one get the second one for 5 bucks after 5pm, so my husband and I went there for that sweet deal. I was in the mood for the club supreme but I wasn't wanting roast beef, so I asked the employee if I could have double turkey and no roast beef, and he did that with no problem. I didn't catch his name, but he was very polite and willing to work with the customer. And the sandwich was very delicious. Definitely one of my favorite sandwich spots in Chico. read more

Servers are extremely helpful and friendly. I ordered a tuna sandwich because the person in front of me saw that I wasn't sure what to order. They said, "Best tuna sandwich in town." So I ordered it and guess what? It's the best tuna sandwich in town. Not too soggy, not too dry, just right. I've told some others and they all agree. I haven't tried anything else, but my experience at this restaurant was very positive. It was clean, they were organized and I really like the food. Try it, you'll like it! read more

Tried Jersey Mike's this week. Ordered a Reuben sandwich. The pastrami tasted like cheap turkey pastrami. There is far better quality pastrami elsewhere in town. Dressing was way too sweet. Ambience was right out of MTV's Jersey Shore. So it seems to be a franchise located in a location that has seen restaurant after restaurant fail in short order. Not sure why you would pay for a Jersey Shore themed franchise and put it in California. Guido subculture, fist pumping and anything related to NJ is a joke on the west coast. read more

My first sandwich here was disgusting. I got a pistrami sandwich but honestly I couldn't taste the pistrami because it was so full of some other random strong ingredient that I didn't like. It was like some weird onion thing. My boyfriend's sandwich was much better. It was salami sandwich. I've been there a couple times and gotten that sandwich every. Whenever I try to eat my sandwich it's always really oily like they dumped half of there container of oil just on my sandwich. It bleeds through the paper they wrap the sandwich and it's pretty messy. But it tasted pretty good still. Just wish they didn't put so much oil on the sandwichs. Also the atmosphere is a little bit unfriendly and not super welcoming. I think of this place took some tips from spiteris deli, it could be alot better. Also the place is a bit expensive. read more

I go here about once or twice a month, have had good experiences except one and even that one wasn't too bad. The owner seems genuinely nice and the food is not only delicious but made pretty fresh with quality ingredients as far as I can tell. Me and my boyfriend LOVE Jersey Mikes. I'm a big foodie and the quality of their food is excellent. They always have fresh bread and their veggies are fresh and crisp. There is no shortage of sandwich places in Chico, ranging from decent (Kona's, Togo's, Subway) to wonderful (Fast Eddie's, Spiteri's, Sub Station). Jersey Mike's probably falls somewhere in the middle. I've now been 9 or 10 times and haven't been disappointed yet. The atmosphere is pleasant, usually with music playing, sports on the TVs, and a bright beach vibe. The employees are always friendly and helpful. Some of the negative reviews seem to be about problems with requests and custom orders. I can't speak to this because I generally like to order sandwiches the way the restaurant suggests. I usually don't ask for any substitutions and if it's a cold sandwich, I get it Mike's Way. When I order one of the cheesesteaks, they don't ask if I want lettuce and mayo on it because that would be gross. In fact, they really have few veggies as options-- I think lettuce, tomatoes, and onions are all they offer so if you prefer a hundred options then you should probably stick to Subway. The bread tends to be on the firmer side, so the large amount of oil & vinegar they dump on works without the bread getting too soggy. If you prefer not to have the oil & vinegar, I can see how the bread may be too firm. Overall, there may be better sandwiches in Chico but I keep coming back to Jersey Mike's. read more

I ordered the club on wheat without ham and got just a turkey sandwich on white that was drowning in oil and vinegar. The sandwich maker was not talkative and looked miserable. The only good thing was the seasonings but they were also drowned out by the oil and vinegar. I won't be returning. read more

Was in for the first time today to redeem a free sub coupon. I had no idea that it was expired and the person behind the counter was very rude in telling me so. Only tried this place once, and I don't think I'll be back. I got the kahuna cheesesteak sandwich. The bread wasn't toasted and was really soggy. I noticed as they were cooking the onions, mushrooms, peppers, and steak that they didn't season anything. Plus they put the ingredients on a dry flat top with no oil or butter. The meat tasted like the chipped frozen beef from a low quality mongolian bbq. They charge over $8 for a really bad sandwich. This place isn't nearly as good as most franchised sandwich shops, which isn't saying much. read more

This place is the epitome of an average sandwich! I got the California Sub last visit. Bread is ok, nothing special. Meat is standard. I do like how they add italian herbs to the sandwich. They skimp out on the "avocado" spread. Portion size is large. If trying to decide between Subway and Jersey Mike's, choose Jerseys! read more

Wife & I got a BOGO coupon, so decided to give the place a try. Ordered a Philly and a pastrami rueben. Both were overwhelmed with sauce to the point of not being able to taste anything else in the sandwiches. And the copious sauce made them soggy and unmanageable. I love Jersey Mikes, It's my new "go-to" Sandwich shop when I'm around that area. The meats are sliced fresh when you order and the service is fast and friendly. The store itself is super clean and you can tell the employees pay attention to details. The prices are on the higher side but mostly comparable to other sandwich shops in Chico that aren't called subway but I'm paying for quality so I'm not too put out. My only quibble is that they could add a touch more meat to their cold sandwich selections and a pinch less lettuce but why argue over minutia? I'd recommend this place to anybody and I have, but try it for yourself and draw your own conclusions. read more

I felt very rushed ordering (the menu is pretty large) and they are EXTREMELY picky about substitutions. The meat is VERY low quality and they are on the pricy end of a sandwich. There are way better choices for subs in Chico, even if you're limited to downtown. Definitely avoid their version of the cheesesteak - not sure how they can say they're from Jersey and have it be that bad. Hit up the Cheesesteak Shop instead for food that's actually edible. Normally really happy with service. Have popped in and had sandwiches, have called in an order, and finally got around to ordering on line. Last 2 times have been extremely disappointing. Out of wheat both times, not a big deal, but annoying. The online order was submitted at least 35 min before pick up time. I arrive and they tell me they were just about to start it. 3 sandwiches, and they are out of bacon and it is all on white again. They pointing out the huge number of people in the place and tell me they were inundated. While I get that, what is the convenience of ordering on line if you have to wait more than 15 min past your pick up time. Honestly, I am really upset. They took orders of walk ins before the online system. Also, I waited at the online and phone pick up line. Had 1 worker make eye contact and look away after I had been there for at least 3 min. They weren't fixing sandwiches or ringing up customers, just walking back and forth. I hate this type of service. They hand me the bag of sandwiches without the three bags of chips I ordered. So not only did they screw me out of the time-saving aspect of online ordering, but out of my three chips that I have actually paid for. I will make sure to tell chico state students not to eat there if this is the poor timing and service we are to receive. read more

Despite the Guido business name, the people working here were not misplaced Jersey frat dudes. Granted that it's pretty hard to mess up a sandwich, mine was fine. I think that prices are a little steep. The sandwiches are big and the ingredients seem fresh enough, although deff not local. I gave it three stars because if I'm going to spend $8+ on a sandwich, I'd rather get the Drake at Beach Hut. However, I wouldn't discourage people from trying this place. read more
