So, we didn't have to worry about anything. We started off with a half of order of onion rings. They were perfectly fried and delicious! There was a very generous amount! Then, we ordered the turkey and avocado sandwich. It was very good. But, the home run goes to the Le Pilgrim. The sandwich had fresh roasted turkey, cranberry-pecan relish, mashed potatoes,cornbread & apple stuffing, herb mayonnaise on French loaf with a gravy dunker on the side. It was a great sandwich and we both finished our halves. And, the dunking gravy was amazing. So, the food was delicious, service was very good, and prices were reasonable. They were all good, but I'm surprised to say that the French onion soup might actually be my favorite thing here. The cold cuts were warm, and there must have been eight ounces of mayo on this sub! We were on a trip and had picked the food up to go, so it wasnt practical to try and return to the shop. So, i had to scrape off a huge glob of mayo and lettuce just to be able to eat half of the sub. You order at the counter and then pay at the gas station attendant counter, so if you want chips and drink or other snacks, you can just get them in the station and pay like normal. The deli gives you a sticky note with the price of your order. The service was friendly and the line wasn't long, but there was a steady stream of customers coming in to pick up their orders or make an order. I came around lunch time on a Friday. Seeing people eating where you are is always encouraging; let's me know someone thinks the place is good. And now that I've ordered from there, I concur. They keep the place clean. There's a couple of tables and they looked newly wiped down when I got there. They close at 4 on weekdays and breakfast is over either at 10:30 or 11:30. The fresh produce is a feast for the eyes. I feel stress melt away when I step inside this market--a reprieve from the MoCo culture. I realized this after using chicken from other stores, (Boreman's ran out of whole chicken one day) even tried Whole Foods "fresh organic chicken"! Note - I believe that since the meats has no preservatives or chemicals on their meats you need to use within a few days or freeze. I went with the Picante Chicken sandwich which has a good amount of heat from their house made picante sauce, tasted delicious and the bread was soft and fresh. I also got the potato salad as a side. The portion is small but a great sample size for me to determine if I want a bigger size next time, which I will get a bigger size my next visit. Overrall, great first sandwich, awesome service.
