Tuna sandwich with only a thin spread of tuna.
    Holly R.

First time visiting the newly opened Jersey Mike's in the area, and unfortunately, it'll be my last. I ordered a tuna sandwich and was shocked at how little tuna was on it--it felt more like a thin condiment spread than the actual filling. For the price, I expected a satisfying portion, but it was very underwhelming. Congruent with other reviewers here, my experience was disappointing. Definitely a no-return for me. 2 stars because the service was friendly.

Jersey Mikes is definitely a sub above. This new sandwich place in town will surprise you with just how good they are in terms of taste and quality, I didn't think much of this place at first- I mean how good can another sandwich place be right?, but boy was I wrong, this place is different and definitely better than most sandwich places in Fresno. I would recommend trying their hot sandwich- Philly Cheesesteak, it is really good and I will tell you more. The Philly Cheesesteak ($7.95) for normal size was phenomenal, a hot perfect mess in your mouth. It had soft warm bread with very nice soft texture as you bite in, yet slightly crispy on the outside. The filling was oozing with cheese, just the way this dish was intended, the beef was fresh and not from cold-cuts. The beef was tender in texture, tasted great and portions was generous. Also the sandwich was nice and toasty as I was holding it in my hand to enjoy every bite. It was not just food that I was impressed with, their customer service is worth mentioning, because they have really helpful, fun, lively, energetic and great customer service skills. The store is also very hip and new looking with beautiful decor of wood floors, surf board on the wall, a widescreen tv, bar stools, and a clean looking sandwich and ordering area. I am looking forward to come back for their cold sandwich next time.

Oh my gosh, my husband was rite! This place is to die for! Beyond delicious and fresh! The customer service was amazing as well. I ordered the Italian sandwich regular size (7inch) mikes way, which means a red wine vinegar and oil dressing with oregano on it. He ordered the #9 no roast beef instead extra bacon and mikes way as well. They gave us free chocolate chip cookies. It's so good I want another one for dinner! The meat and cheeses are all freshly cut when you order. Will definitely be coming back! Beyond sad I forgot to receive my points for the purchase.

    My sad Philly. $8.

Went here because my boyfriend raved about their sandwiches. He especially liked the Philly which is a pretty popular sandwich for them I see. We went on a Saturday afternoon around 12:30ish. The restaurant was nearly empty with the exception of one person dining in. We walked in and were quickly greeted by a man behind the counter who seemed very friendly. Asked if it was our first time there and let us know he was there to help if we needed suggestions. I was pretty set on getting the regular Philly cheesesteak so it didn't take me long to decide. My boyfriend got the giant pastrami sandwich. It took about 5 minutes for us to get our sandwiches. So, all together we were in there for no longer than 15 minutes. Before I get into how the sandwiches were, the wrapping of the sandwiches was great. Their packaging is perfect! Having studied marketing, I look at these things! I love when a business pays attention to detail. Anyway, we got back home and I quickly became disappointed as I was unwrapping my sandwich. I just stared down at it in disbelief. This is what everyone had been talking about? It couldn't be..there wasn't much meat or cheese. The bread seemed plain with no mayo or mustard. If it was in there I didn't find it! It just looked like a sad sandwich. I think Subway puts more love into their tuna melts than whoever made my sandwich did. My bf's pastrami on the other hand was pretty good. It was warm and the pastrami was so good. Bottom line: I refuse to pay $8 for a mediocre 8-inch sandwich that tastes like I could've gotten it in the frozen aisle at Costco. It's a damn shame. I doubt I'll be back any time soon. The pastrami was good, but not worth going back for. Places like this get one chance. Advice to Jersey Mikes: be consistent with your quality. That 100th Philly of the day should be just as good as the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.

I told him 1 drink and he was about to charge me for 2 drinks until I told him to please remove one of them before I paid. The clam chowder tasted like it was from a can. I'm sure it's probably not from a can, but I'm also pretty sure it's not made in-house. I really liked the toasty sourdough though. The bread bowl bread was at least good. Overall, it was a mediocre experience.

The counter person waved me over and stated they were all waiting for their online orders, "OK... cool?" I ordered the 6-inch tuna with lettuce, tomato, pickles, jalapeno, and banana peppers, along with a drink. By the time I had filled my drink and walked back to the pickup counter, my sandwich was already done! Apparently, online orders have to be made close to the pick-up time so they sit for too long. So, if five or more people order a sandwich for pickup at 12:30pm, your ass is waiting and walk-ins get taken care of first! They gave me a large tuna portion for my sandwich. It was very fresh and not too heavy on the mayo either, which can create a drippy sando. Loved all the toppings except that they put pickle spears on their sandwiches and not pickle chips... why? The sandwich came on dutch crunch bread, which I normally love, but it was hard a little hard to bite through. The crust was more chewy than crunchy, but still soft on the inside. Decent prices, a huge menu, and they offer most of their sandwiches in wrap form as well.

The food was great and decently priced. She ordered an iced coffee, I got the iced Americano. I ordered "dads breakfast" (French toast!) and she ordered the crossan'wich. Both were great. Parking is simple in the same lot - there's only a couple of covered spots though. The space is huge - the restaurant spans at least three storefronts. After reviewing the menu selection, it felt like I was waiting for a while just for a staff member to acknowledge us. Instead, the workers were standing with their backs to us , and left us standing there for a while. In fact , I was so confused I was looking around for a kiosk to order my food. The next thing that I didn't like was the price of our lunch. 45.00 for one sandwich , two small cups of soup , two fountain drinks , and a dessert. Seems pricey for a sandwich spot. I get it - this is a step up from Subway. However, for what I spent - I expected more. Finally, the dining room tables were grimy. I had to clean off our own table before the food arrived. I felt like this was inexcusable considering the amount of staff standing around not doing much. Here is what I did like. The menu has a nice variety of hot or cold sandwiches, sides , and desserts. Everything sounded so good. Today, I opted for the Monterey chicken sandwich. While the flavor was good, it ate a little messy. I had chicken pieces falling out and cheese oozing out of the bottom. I don't think I would order this again- there appears to be better options to choose from. The baked potato soup was really good ( salty but delicious)! Hands down , the best thing we tried was Gary's chocolate cake. That cream cheese frosting was heavenly! Heads up- this cake is super sweet ,and a little goes a long way. Feel free to share this dessert. I am coming back to try more menu items- I may have just ordered the wrong sandwich today.
