VERY GOOD!!!! I lagged on trying Jersey Mikes because my family had it and didn't like so that didn't put fire under my ass to try them. BUT, one day, I was handling some business at Chase and I was hungry but didn't know what I wanted. I really hate that feeling since I usually always crave SOMETHING!!!!!!! As soon as I walked out of Chase I looked over to the left and said to myself, you know I never tried Jersey mikes so lets try today, no love loss either way LOL. So I walk in and I was greeted immediately. All male staff at the time I came in and all of them were nice and like the United nations, I like that. So I told them off the bat, I never been to a Jersey mikes before. He asked if I wanted anything in particular. I told him I usually order turkey sammies. I noticed they had tuna, so I asked is their tuna smooth or crunchy and it's crunchy BOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! I like my tuna like Subway or Beach hut's, nice and smooooooooth. So I went with the California club made the Mikes way! This is a turkey sammie with lettuce, tomato, provolone ,bacon and avocado. Since I'm a lover and a fiend for mustard and mayo, I had them add that. Mikes way is oil and vinegar, salt and pepper with onions. The small size sandwich is actually plenty for your healthy appetite. Those other sizes are HUGE! Enough to share between two people if you're ballin on a budget. Anywho took my sammie to go and got home and ripped that sucker open. The sandwich looked great. I took my first bite and I was VERY happy!!!! As much as I love avocado, I usually don't get them on sandwiches because the avocado always overpowers the sandwich, to me at least. But this sandwich had so many flavors, every ingredient shined on its own. I was only able to eat half of the small!!!! But an hour later my greedy ass ate the other ahahahahaah. It was just to good to save for the next day LOL. Part of me wants to try other sandwiches but the other part of me is addicted to that California club!!!! This place is alright, but not taken back by any means... especially at these prices. I'm judging it not based on other eateries, Hell, I'd choose this place over most quick lunch stops... but I'm basing this review more against other cheese steak and hero shops/delis... plus if you're putting Jersey in the name, it had better be killer. Ordered the Chicken Parm sandwich and it was just just OK, nothing to write home about. I got there at about 1:15pm thinking the lunch rush would be over by that time. I was wrong. The line wrapped around the entire inside of the store. This made the indoor seating very unappealing. My order was taken half way through the line, which gave me a little hope, but they really lagged it on heating up the chicken for my sandwich. Several people behind me got served before I did. When they finally gave me my sandwich it was already wrapped up, and they gave me no option to add anything extra to my sandwich. I really wanted onions and banana peppers on that thing! I was doing some Xmas shopping today at The District and by the time I was done, I was hungry. I wasn't sure if they were open or not because the place looks pretty deserted from the street, so I gave the place a drive around. Turns out Jersey Mikes was open from 10AM to 3PM on Christmas Eve. Picked up a number 13, some Italian cold cut on whole wheat bread and a hot Chipotle Steak sandwich. Service was quick and the guy that took my order was nice. The girl at the cash register didn't really seem that friendly though. Maybe hates her job... not the most stylish hat and apron ensemble. Unfortunately, I didn't get to try the Italian sammy, because I got them to go and was planning on visiting my boyfriend while he was working in Newport... Haha what an epic fail. Newport during the summer is too crowded for words. I couldn't eat with him because I had been circling for 30 mins trying to find parking and finally I just dropped off his sandwich and peaced out. While I drove away from the ridiculous Newport Beach traffic I literally shoved the Steak sandwich down my throat. I honestly may have eaten some of the paper wrapping. Anyways, it was delicious enough to pound down in 5 minutes... while driving... and honking at pedestrians. Pleasently surprised!! Always been a Subway fan. Co workers recommended it and I went for the Italian Giant sub. Mind you it's my second time I had to try again before really knowing I liked it. The size is perfect! They are cut so you don't make a mess and you definitely get what you pay for. It's a bit pricier but worth it. I love the taste and the amount of ingredients. Anyone who has experienced Ike's in SF or Harry's Deli can attest to this, Jersey Mike's is just a typical sandwich place, just like Subway or Quiznos, maybe even a little worse... We ordered the giant chicken parmesan sandwich. They microwaved the chicken, drenched the bread in marinara, didn't toast the bread, and charged us $11 for the damn thing. Do yourself a favor... Went here for the first time today...with so many options I was getting tired of the same old chick filet, in-n-out, the habit etc. Still love those places. Anyway I stopped by this location and it was a very good experience. The vibe was chill and the staff was friendly and greeted me right away. The short of it: - sub sandwich place - a bit pricier than other sub stores, (around $7-8 for a regular size) - good service - completely packed during weekday lunch rush - call your order in ahead and save yourself the wait The long of it: So, I finally tried this Jersey Mike's place and I got the famous #2 Jersey MIke sandwich AND made sure it was done "Mike's way" aka onions, lettuce, tomato, spices, and "the juice" which is oil and red wine vinegar. The verdict? It was ok. It looked good and smelled good, but for some reason my sandwich tasted bland, the spices and "the juice" were so subtle I couldn't really taste it. There's really nothing else that made this sandwich stand out other than I did like the thinly slice deli meats and all the ingredients seemed fresh. There was also no weird aftertaste or smell like Subway sandwiches have. I'm sad that my experience wasn't spectacular, but maybe the #2 isn't for me? Moving north in quality compared Subway, Jersey Mike's is a welcome addition to franchise sub shops opening in the OC. Sandwiches can't be much fresher with them slicing the meat right in front of your eyes on a butcher's blade. Fresh lettuce and veggies along with provolone cheese piled high in assembly line fashion. The menu has just about the right amount of offerings between hams, turkeys, and Italian meats. Not to complex and not anemic either. You can get wraps as well, or turn any of your regular subs into a wrap if you so choose. Add some oil/vinegar and Italian spices to finish it off. Most sandwiches range from $7-$10 (depending on size- regular or large), and a few premiums such as the hot Philly cheese-steak for about a buck more (might seem a bit higher than average). Speaking of cheese-steak, the chipotle cheese-steak is to die for in flavor, but I kinda wished there was a bit more, at least on the hot offerings. Typical soda fountain and bagged chips seem like generic standard fare and almost insulting to the subs themselves, but it's pretty typical of like places. There's a few salads as well including Cesar. Place gets slammed at lunch, so my tip is to order 10 minutes in advance otherwise the wrap around line (despite 6-7 employees behind the counter) can eat up your lunch hour very quickly. I noted some people waiting almost 20 minutes for a sandwich....not fun....but there's a reason they wait for it. A few indoor booths and a window-side counter seat upwards of 20 and there's a few outdoor tables looking over a vast parking lot. Plenty of lot parking in this otherwise vacant mall. read more

This place was just OK. It's a franchise, so can't expect too much. In short, the Classic Italian was good, but not amazing. I had it Mike's Way. Way too much shredded lettuce, and a bit too much seasoning. Salty. My wife tried the meatball. Nothing to jump up and down about. Altogether still better than Subway but I would not go out of my way to go back. It's worth a second chance, but only if it's convenient. Sadly many of the businesses in this location have deserted the place. Even Burger King. Don't let the rundown shopping center this location is in fool you - Jersey Mike's is the real deal. I've been beating the drum of Jersey Mike's for quite a while. It's the only chain that knows how to make a real East-coast style sub. The subs are huge (a regular works just fine for me). The meat is sliced fresh and is very high quality. The veggies and seasonings are piled on. There is nothing wimpy or subtle about these sandwiches - they're big and in your face. This is one of the better sandwich places anywhere around this area. They do something that no other sandwich place does these days - they actually slice all of the meats and cheeses in front of you! There's something more appetizing about watching them slice it and put it on your sandwich rather than watching them unwrap some pre-cut slices of meat and cheese like they do at Subway. Everything just tastes really fresh at this place, and they always keep the sandwich counter squeaky clean. The ingredients are all very high quality, and every sandwich I've ever had from this place has been absolutely delicious minus the cheesesteak - stay away from this one. I always order it "Mike's Way", which comes with lettuce, tomatoes, olive oil, and some other stuff. I've had both the turkey & provolone sub and the Italian sub. I was very impressed with both of them, they're much better than any other chain sub place around. The only down side (and the only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars) is because a regular sandwich here is around $8. It's worth the extra couple bucks I guess for the quality, but I feel like I don't eat here as often as I otherwise would just because it's not exactly a cheap lunch option. As I mentioned before about the cheesesteak, don't order this unless you want to be disappointed. It tastes nothing like an authentic philly cheesesteak at all. If you'd never had a cheesesteak before you might think it's okay just as a sandwich, but by Philly standards, this shouldn't even be called a cheesesteak. Fortunately the rest of their menu is so good that there's no reason to give this place a lower rating just because of this...I think they're just trying to do too much. On the bright side in terms of their prices, they seem to have run a few coupons in local newspapers and coupon guides. I found a coupon in the mail for buy one, get one free sandwiches after 4pm on the weekend. This is a great deal - two decent size sandwiches for only about 8 bucks! Next guy ordered Italian on wheat. 3 stooges behind the counter try to save time by making them at the same time even though we were the only two customers. They switched the tops. When I pointed out the problem they start making fun of the main guy making the sandwiches. He acted like making a new sandwich would be too hard. Thee other customer said he would take his sandwich like it was, but I never did. He wrapped up the other sandwich and handed it to me. I had already paid or I would have walked out. Chipotle Cheese Steak - the menu says, "Wow! You gotta have one!" .. so I did and yeah.. you gotta have one if you're tired of your mundane Subway or deli sandwich. From other reviews, the bread is baked fresh and daily and it shows - great texture, mildly firm on the outside and soft/chewy on the inside. Chipotle mayo, grilled onions and peppers with the steak are on point, a great combination of flavors and not spicy at all, unless you're allergic to.. black pepper. The sandwich could have used more steak (How often can you use.. less steak??? c'mon.). The regular sized sandwich was satisfying, but not $8+ satisfying. probably more like $7 max satisfying. The deli was clean, organized, and pretty full. Staff was busy and cool. I am a frequent customer here because my company, and myself included, love the subs and the wraps here. My personal favorite would have to be the Turkey Breast and Provolone just because I'm able to feel healthy but eat a delicious sub sandwich. My coworkers would also recommend the Original Italian, Big Kahuna Cheese Steak, and their Turkey Wrap. Their Philly cheesesteak sandwiches are savory and leave you feeling full. After co-workers I've mine RAVED about this place I decided to try it. Personally when I think of sandwiches, I'm thinking Subway, Quiznos, etc. (Since I've tried it, i've been there quite a few times now). They've got quite a variety from cold sandwiches to hot ones. My first sandwich was the Big Kahuna Cheese Steak. That thing is GANGSTER! LOL! After a month of eating clean, I devoured the whole thing on my "Fast Food Friday" with no regrets. Since then I've ended up trying the Italian, Club Supreme, Famous Philly, & the Turkey Wrap just to name a few. All of which are delicious! My personal fav is the Turkey Wrap w/ extra turkey. Something about really thin turkey slices piled high that brings out a certain texture to a wrap. Pretty decent sizes too. The regular size can be big to some... but if you're going to do it big I suggest any of their hot sandwiches. I ordered a regular size #5 The Super Sub with pepper spread. I wanted on wheat bread, but they just ran out of wheat. So, I had to get it on white bread. The sub was good, but I think, it would've been better on wheat. It also had a little bit too much vinegar on it and I am a person who likes vinegar. The pepper spread made the sub spicy. I like spicy, so it was a good choice adding it on. It seemed a little expensive for buying just one regular sub and nothing else, because I had a $1.00 off coupon, but it was still $7.50.
