The subs are great. They taste like legit east coast-style sandwiches. BUT, that's about all that is great. Their "production line" is a mess. It is super inefficient and painful to observe. They take my order right when I walk in, have the bread lined up for ten minutes with my meat sitting on it, then everything bottlenecks with one guy responsible for topping every single sandwich! At any given time there are 20 customers standing in front of the counter watching and waiting and another 3 or 4 employees standing next to the guy-- watching and waiting. There's another similar effect at the register then too. I've worked in plenty of deli and counter service environments and have never seen such a slow moving model. (The only people who make sandwiches slower are the bunch over at Whole Foods). AND, Their soda fountain is perpetually out of CO2. I'm writing this review after the third time I went there during lunch and the fountain just spit out syrup. Either their soda system is broken or they need to manage it better-- check it before the lunch rush or something. To sum it up, if you've got a taste for east coast subs this is the place. I have been to other brnaches a few times but this one is much different. Wonderful sandwiches... & Wonderful staff (Cole and Ray) Because.... Tonight I made an online order right at 8:40pm but at the end of process it says your order will be ready to pick up tomorrow morning at 10am!!! I called the store and asked them if they can make it for tonight and they politely said due to late order (less than 20min preparation) they cannot make it tonight but they can cancel it. I was so disappointed on jersy mike's. However They were very polite and several times appologized for the confusion. They were so polite that I couldn't believe that they would really cancel my order. So I said i will come in 10 minutes to their store, either to get the food or get the cancellation receipt. Again they were polite and mentioned the store will close at 9pm When I got there and told them that I made a wrong order and want the cancellation receipt, they just showed me my sandwich and said your order is ready!!! I was so happy and didn't expect such a mercy. They were nice and again oppologized for the confusion and offered me free soda and chips. This is not something you see in a fastfood business! They (Cole and Ray) could have cancel the order or even make me go through the hassel to get my money back, but instead they generously worked harder (and probably overtime to clean it up) to prepare my order. For lunch, I had the Original Italian which came with provolone, ham, prosciuttini, cappacuolo, salami and pepperoni. The meat and cheese tasted high quality, fresh and flavorful and were fairly generously proportioned. The only complaint that I have is with the bread. Man is this place in the randomest location! I really wonder how well they do... We went on a Saturday and there was no one there. I'm sure it gets busier during the week when the 8-5 working folk are around. Also, it's in the same parking lot as the newest Wal-Mart to reach Irvine, so I'm assuming they get business from that as well. I got a regular size Italian Sub Mike's Way. It was delicious. I'm not big on oil and vinegar, but they actually went light on it when I asked. Some sandwich places are so into a routine that asking for something different doesn't always happen the way you want... Random side notes: 1. The store is super cold, so bring a jacket. 2. They have a "sandwich in a bowl" so you can get it as a salad. I had wanted that, but didn't realize that's what a "sandwich in a bowl" was until I sat staring at the menu while I ate. Haha, oh well, next time. 3. They pay for the meals of the armed forces. Four people in their military gear came in for lunch, and the employee at the register said they were all taken care of. First and last time ordering online from this place! I guess my mistake for ordering online and not checking everything before I left right? So we got back to my office after ordering and picking up 6 subs online and to my surprise, they screwed up twice! 1st screw up: Ordered a chicken sub and received a steak one instead? You can't tell the difference between steak and chicken?? C'mon man! 2nd screw up: I paid the extra $$ for a giant sub and guess what i got? A regular sub! Wtf? Love the bread, love the meats/cheese and love the thinly sliced onions. Regular #13 on white with lots of onions, lettuce, spices and oil. No vinegar. Decent service, sometimes it's a bit flaky. But well made sandwiches and lots of choices on sandwiches. read more

This place is pretty good but not in the most prime location. We had been wanting to try it out after finding the Yelp reviews and got our chance last night. For the most part we weren't disappointed. My wife ordered the Original Italian and I got the Big Kahuna. Both were really good. I like how they slice the meat and cheese fresh. The bread was great and the veggies were fresh. The cheesesteak was pretty comparable to Philly's Best. Two things did turn me off: - right before taking our order, the employee serving us wiped [sweat presumably] from his forehead with his forearm. Not really a great public display by someone serving my food. At least it wasn't with his hands! And at least he was wearing latex gloves. - we also noticed the general service wasn't too great - they were not very attentive to customers. Two different guys walked in and asked "are you closed?" because the employees didn't greet them. The place was kind of dead probably due to location, time of day, and the fact that it was a Friday night. The employees looked sad as if they were missing out on a party at a friend's that night. In either case, the food definitely met or exceeded my expectations. I thought the quality was better than Quiznos or Subway. Even Togos to an extent. The key is the meat slicer. After having a sandwich from Jersey Mike's you will never be able to go back to Subway, Togo's, Quizno's... This place is amazing. Let's start with the bread... It's really flavorful and not too dough-y, which is my favorite part of the whole sandwich. The meat and cheese are sliced fresh to order and the quality of both the meat and cheeses are pretty good. Oh ya don't forget to order it Mike's way, which I feel is the best way to go. Oh and did I mention these sandwiches are ENORMOUS?!?!!?!?! And I agree with the other Yelpers that the staff is really friendly and courteous. I really want to come back and try their cold sandwiches though because they look delicious and I like my sandwiches to have everything that's included in Mike's Way. Orange County does not have a shortage of casual sandwich chains. There is a sandwich chain is almost every single shopping plaza, so how does one decide which one to eat at? When you get vouchers for free subs from Angels games, you eat at Jersey Mikes. When you don't have vouchers for free subs, your decision is a bit tougher. I have visited this Jersey Mike location twice and both times I left unimpressed. In my opinion, there's nothing special or noteworthy about it. The interior is set up similar to a Subway or Quiznos, but the ordering method is different. Instead of ordering your sandwich as it's being made, you select a sandwich from the menu and the sandwich artist asks you a few questions, such as your bread preference, and gets to work. A unique thing they offer is having your sandwich made Mike's Way, with Onions, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Vinegar, and Oil. It adds a nice flavor to the sandwich, but it's not anything extraordinary. read more

I just had a Super Sub on the new Rosemary Parmesan bread. It was the best Italian sub I've had in a long time! The man who served me very patiently explained what prosciuttini and cappacuolo are. He prepared it Mike's Way (as any Italian sub should be). When I told him it was my first time patronizing a Jersey Mike's, he even threw in a free cookie :-) The quality of every component from the bread to the toppings was apparent when I bit in. I've eaten at a number of Jersey Mike's restaurants and have found that the quality depends on the location. This particular location is sorely lacking in customer courtesy. I found the guys making the sandwiches to be rude, obnoxious and really not interested in getting the order right. They were more interested in giggling and making fun of the customers to take their job seriously. I won't be back to this location. Earlier today, I ordered a giant #17 Philly Cheesesteak from this location via UberEats. Having had their cheesesteaks several times before, I knew I was in for a treat. This Jersey Mike's has only been working with UberEats for a couple of days, so they were very new at the process. However, when it comes to ultimate customer service, they shined through like seasoned veterans. Here's what went down... After placing my order about 1:35pm, UberEats informed me that it would be ready in about 30 minutes. At about 2:18pm, I received notification from UberEats telling me that my order was canceled without refund! It provided no information regarding the driver for me to be able to contact him, so I called Jersey Mikes at about 2:22pm and spoke to the manager Nate, asking him if anyone had come by to pick up my order. Nate confirmed that my order was picked up at 2:14pm. That struck me as odd, because it would take at least 7-10 minutes to drive from that Jersey Mike's location to where I was. I asked Nate if he had the UberEats driver's information, but since the order was canceled, he informed me that he did not. When I explained to Nate what happened, he and I both agreed that someone was not right. Why would the driver cancel the order without attempting to contact me. I had been waiting outside the delivery destination for 20 minutes and did not see any driver come by. Nate, in a selfless effort to help and rectify the situation, offered to call UberEats on my behalf to file a complaint and initiate a refund. He also offered to remake my entire order on the house. I ended up driving down myself to this Jersey Mike's location, because I was really hungry and was really craving their amazing cheesesteaks. I met Nate in person who could not have been more accommodating, apologizing for this UberEats issue, even though he had nothing to do with it. I enjoyed the juicy, mouthwatering cheesesteak and went on my way. More than the sandwich which always hits the spot, it was Nate's efforts and hospitality that made up for a bad situation. I will be sure to return and will come hungry when I do! read more

The #2 Jersey Mike sandwich was deeeeelicious!! The place is clean and the staff were friendly and corteous. All the produce and meats were fresh and tasty. And the bread....omg....amazing! The location is in a dead shopping center that is rumored to be the home of a new Wal-Mart (taking over the old Sam's club building). As a result, there are a lot of parking spots. I ordered the turkey breast and provolone and it was great. I ordered it mike's way which includes lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, olive oil, red wine vinegar, and some spice. Check it out for lunch if you are in the area and looking for a sandwich place that is better than subway. All of the meat and cheeses are cut fresh right in front of you and the bread was delicious. You can choose either white or wheat. My co-workers ordered different sandwiches and they were all very happy with what they got. If you go here definitely get it Mike's way. I think their food is great but I don't appreciate my pick up order on some table on the opposite side of the kitchen who is making it.... you have to walk in between a line of people. I've visited this location on Wednesday, August 1, around 3 PM in the afternoon. When it was my turn, I ordered one salad. That's it. Before the young gentleman began making my salad, he asked the family of four who were standing behind me, what their order was. He took down their whole entire, detailed order and began carving their meat and cheese and sliced their bread and preparing their meal before he even touched mine. Then I asked, "are you going to make my salad? " He then replied, "yeah!" That was it!! I waited a whole extra 10 minutes because he wanted to make everybody's order at the same time instead of attending to who was next. On top of that, nobody even said hello when I walked in. It was a horrible customer service day indeed! I will return again, to a different location, because I love the food, but I am very displeased with the service at this location. read more

Ate lunch here yesterday at approximately 11:45 AM. The shop was very busy and I ordered the number nine with no onions add pickles as I have many times before. Within a half hour of eating my lunch I begin to develop stomach cramping. I spent the rest of the evening through this morning vomiting and with diarrhea. They were so busy many hands touching my sandwich is it moves through the line I'm sure there was some cross contamination happening in there. I'm writing this review for the employees and not the food. I came in and was on the phone but I let people go ahead of me and when it was my turn the first person to acknowledge me asked what I wanted and immediately they turned their attention away. Therefore, another person asked me what I wanted and they started my order. By then I was getting annoyed because I had to repeat my order a second time which I clearly stated what I wanted the first time. While the sandwich artist was making it I asked for mayo and mustard and they said sure. Now I bite into my sandwich and it's 100% dry. I can't believe I have to go out of my way to a grocery store to pick up some mayo and mustard for a tiny sandwich. I'm beyond annoyed and the people who work here need to be more attentive instead of just brushing off a SIMPLE request.
