They also have many local brands to include chips, sodas, and other small local business products (caramelized nuts, baked goods, etc.)! On the topic of local businesses, they also had a board which allowed local owners to post business cards and event alerts, fantastic for drawing the community together. Now, I ordered a Reuben as a lover of corned beef and sauerkraut. It was delicious and sizeable, a fair portion size for the money as well. The chips were also delicious having gone for the salt, pepper, and onion variety. A solid crunch and bursting with flavor. Among the positives I have two negatives, both of which are not adequate enough to lower their star ranking. Firstly, it took around 20-25 minutes to get our food after ordering. I rarely hold timing against a restaurant as having worked in food, I know lunch rush exists and things happen. To mitigate this (for those in the area) I believe they have an online ordering system, which I would recommend utilizing! Secondly, they do not have indoor seating, so it is a very grab and go type establishment. This is counteracted by the multitude of benches around Royal Oak, though it would be nice to have some amount of seating, especially for those with accessibility needs and those waiting on their food. Overall, Oak House Deli is solid and delicious and I will definitely stop by again when I am in the area!

Edit: came back next day and actually HAD the sandwich I came for. Sandwich was VERY good. A little too much sauce but otherwise great. Flavor was good. Customer service still wasn't the best. Took 30 minutes for a sandwich. But I did get a free pickle.

While they weren't anything to necessarily write home about, they went very well with my salad for lunch. They were crunchy and the corned beef inside was quite tender, however the meat lacked flavor and I didn't care for it being served with sauce. Would love a bold mustard type sauce. Will ask if that's available next time. Gonna have to go back for the sandwich. Just to see if it brings me back to my teenage years. Service was quick and professional. No complaints.

I guess I look a bit russian since as soon as I entered the tiny storefront I was bombareded with russian greetings. Luckily, at least one of the owners speak English. I came in for the bread rolls (filled with your choice of potato, meat, or cabbage) since my friend said they were good. I ordered one of each, which are about the size of a small sub roll. The owner offered to heat them up for me and I took her advice. Besides the rolls, there was a few other interesting looking bread items, but nothing was labeled so I decided to stick with the rolls. The selection was rather sparse but I perhaps that was due to the late sunday afternoon in which I stopped by the store. Anyway, back to the rolls. I took them home and quickly tried them. The filling in each roll was tasty and the bread was ok. They reminded me of the filled buns you can pick up at a chinese bakery. The only bad thing is that they were overly greasy. After eating them my stomach was hurting from the grease overdose. All in all, Gold International Bakery offers a niche product which I have not seen elsewhere and that's reason enough for me to give them a second chance.

Had a hair in my sandwich and brought back the sandwich untouched and the employees were all huddled around talking about it and staring at me. One lady came out with a attitude and she stated "we will remake it for you this time but that's not our hair".
