I ordered a regular corned beef on grilled onion roll with onion rings. Nice amount of tender meat but extremely salty. Onion ring were ok.

If you're a Reuben fan, Lou's is a must. This triple-decker masterpiece is piled high with tender, juicy corned beef, perfectly melted Swiss, house-made sauerkraut, and tangy dressing--all stacked between buttery grilled rye. It's huge, hearty, and worth every bite. The meat is the star: flavorful, not too fatty, and sliced just thick enough. Paired with crispy fries or deviled eggs, it's a Detroit deli classic done right. Pro tip: come hungry or split it--it's that big.

In the war of traditional Jewish delis in and around Southfield, Michigan, this place doesn't win or place. *Maybe* it shows. Here's why: Ambiance: The interior is cheerful: modern, bright, with picnic tables featuring comfortable wooden benches--and plenty of them, meaning this place is usually pretty darn busy. Perhaps because it's centrally located? It's NOT because their Reubens are great. They're just okay. 4/5 Food: First time here and the impression is not great, although it's okay. First, they forgot to put my sandwich on the onion roll I asked for. Even though the order taker had me repeat it twice. Second, the supposed (grilled) rye bread isn't really rye, and wasn't grilled with a crusty, buttered finish. (Maybe margarine? Inferior choice.) There are no caraway seeds, it tastes like a thin Texas toast--so it's a cheap substitute for the kind of rye a Reuben should come with, standard. The supposed Swiss cheese doesn't taste Swiss at all, but very bland and no Swiss flavor. They cheaped out here. A minor beef about the pickle: You don't get a choice of old or new dills. That's STANDARD at a Jewish deli. Where it hits near bottom is in flavor. The corned beef taste is WEAK. It's not overly salty, a good thing, but the special taste of corned beef should be front and center, and it's just lacking here. They must have cheaped out in the meat sourcing. I wouldn't call a bad sandwich, but it's not what a Jewish deli is all about. Even if it's not billed as a Jewish deli, in Southfield Michigan with its great Jewish cultural tradition of Jewish delis, this one MUST compete--but fails on many counts. For all of the reasons above, and especially because a Jewish deli MUST, first and foremost, deliver a GREAT corned beef sandwich, especially a Reuben, I give a low score. 2/5 Service: Had to wait a little bit at the counter and quite a bit longer for the order to be done but it's lunch time--sort of a rush, 2 PM on a weekday. No big deal. But for the order taker to miss one of my key requests correctly after it she repeated it--two mentions of the onion roll--means she's not paying attention. Everything else regarding service, they did well. 3/5

Delicious. Big portions. Good prices. Worth every penny! You are able to customize any sandwich you want as well. I did that with Sara and added lettuce and cheese. Yum!!

There is only one other spot I have ever gone to that is equally as good in making a corned beef sandwich. Get the Roselawn corned beef special - has coleslaw and Russian dressing on it. My only critique is on the desserts but it is a deli and not a bakery... so caramel cake and peach cobbler aren't worth the calories. Also they are pretty popular so order ahead and expect a 20/25 min wait on food.

There is no reason a sandwich with two slices of bread, some sandwich meat, bottled Russian dressing, and two slices of cheese would cost anywhere over $8... I have been patronizing this restaurant for over 12 years. I have a feeling that they are taking advantage of their long standing position in this community, a loyal customer base, and customers not understanding pricing of beef.. 6 slices of corn beef is about $3, two slices of rye bread is $0.50, two slices of Swiss cheese is $0.20, a spread of Russian dressing is $0.05.... And they will charge you $20 for a sandwich..... this is awful, disloyal, and advantageous. Don't go here, find another place for lunch that respects hard working people trying to get a decent sandwich. Their food is great, but no intelligent person is paying $20 for a sandwich. It's almost laughable if it wasn't so disrespectful.

The chips were also delicious having gone for the salt, pepper, and onion variety. A solid crunch and bursting with flavor. Among the positives I have two negatives, both of which are not adequate enough to lower their star ranking. Firstly, it took around 20-25 minutes to get our food after ordering.
