This particular Jersey Mikes is actually located inside a convenience store and you might miss it unless you know what you are looking for. I've stopped here a few times on my way up Highway 395. I did not see any indoor dining here, but did notice they have some outside tables. This particular location is probably best suited for take out. One nice thing is that you can also pick up some additional items at the convenience store while you are there. The sandwiches here are basically the same as you'll probably get at any other Jersey Mikes location. The prices seemed a little higher, which is probably reasonable given this somewhat more remote location. I ordered the mini sub with tuna and it cost me $10.45. Jersey MIkes sandwiches seem to offer much better quality than their competitors, and the one nice thing is that you can have your sandwich customized to your liking and watch them actually build it right in front of you.

Jersey Mike's is my absolute favorite but this sandwich was just a disappointment between two pieces of bread.

So given that I was out all day and was getting back to the hotel late and my choices were limited (lets face it I would rather have a cup-o-noodles than a McMeal) I gave these guys a try and came away pleasantly surprised. It also violated one of our culinary rules about eating prepared food from a gas station. First off the staff was super friendly, worked fast but got the sandwiches right, and paid attention to glove changes and the like. The sandwiches follow a common theme. Bread baked in house, but at JM's the meat and cheese is sliced per order. I did go back multiple times and on occasion they were out of an item (given its rather remote locations it does not get daily supply drops) the staff were quick to make suggestions to sub in. The fixing were always fresh as well. You can really ask for more

Stopped for lunch before heading out after a weekend of hiking. It was great. The food prepped did an amazing job loading up the sandwich, beautifully placing toppings and wrapping up the giant sandwich we ordered. It got even better enjoying the goats outside under the trees while we ate.

Still had 6 hours till we got back to LA so decided to stop here for a quick bite. I was a bit confused on the ordering process but I was born confused so just went with the tuna sandwich. The gentleman who attended me was friendly & very quick on making my sub. They are very limited on toppings but that's probably due to the location. I got the basics; lettuce, tomatoes, onions & peppers. The sandwich was fresh & tasty. Definitely better then subway & I love subway sandwiches. Things to note: - They offer wheat, white, rosemary parm & gluten free bread - They sell bowls & wraps - They have chipotle sauce & other sauces - This is probably the best sandwich spot in the area ! Definitely found a new spot to come to when I pass by again :)

When a male staff member finally approached the counter he didn't ask who had been waiting first or anything, so despite being first in line I had to walk behind the person he decided was more deserving a service (another male). Would have stopped somewhere else on the way back, but they have a disabled restroom stall with a changing table and we needed to change our son, however the female working the counter claimed the water was not working and refused to provide a key. The story was different however when my husband asked in Spanish, so we were able to change our son. The claim about the water appeared to be a lie because the toilets and sink had running water. Like other reviews mention they absolutely take advantage of the location and gouge the heck out of prices. My husband purchased Takis & 2 things of beef jerky, and the total was over $50.

There is a small gift shop with lots of sundry stuff. We have been regulars when we are traveling up and down the 395 which happens a couple times a month. I always appreciate hospitality service workers and make it a point to be friendly and appreciative to everyone. It's just so darn difficult here. I mean for the last 6 years this has been a regular spot and nothing really seems to change. The ladies here just don't seem to enjoy their jobs. During our last visit we needed to use the restrooms and they were very unclean. My brain always connects dirty bathrooms to probably dirty kitchens. I never like to give poor reviews and give regular spots multiple tries. We just can't do it anymore. There is a coffee shop and juice bar across the street we will be trying on our next trip.

They have small, old fashioned shopping carts that are convenient and save you from having to carry your items in your arms. The meats in the cold case looked good and the prices weren't bad, at all. They have large bags of ice available (always an important "must have" for the camp ice chest!), plus some clever person also included frozen 1 gallon water jus for those who know that block ice lasts longer. At $1.99, these frozen jugs are a good economical choice for keeping your perishables cold. The wine selection was unremarkable. Unless you're used to bottom-shelf wines, you are probably going to be disappointed. The beer selection is much better, an you'll find a small selection of microbrews here, like stuff from Lagunitas and Mammoth Brewing Co. The produce selection was not large, but what was there looked well-trimmed and fresh. You will find some of the basic carrots, cabbages, limes, apples, and onions, but not the cilantro or other more specialized items. The staff is friendly and helpful. It's an old-time local grocery store that saves you from having to drive all the way to the next big town of Bishop to do basic grocery resupply.

We showed up a bit after opening and the staff were ready to make our sandwiches, there was enough to get through the morning ! Me and my friends ordered different sandwiches. I also got the watermelon lemonade and it was so delicious! I took my breakfast to the back and it had a nice little seating area with a pretty cool view. It made my morning! After backpacking sequoia we went back and ordered even more sandwiches because it was that good! 100/10 definitely would recommend and I will be coming back if I ever go to sequoia again! As the years went on I was a little wary of giving them that recommendation since it's been so long since I've been there...but good to know it's still just as amazing 8 years later. They have updated the interiors and there is plenty of seating both inside and outside the sandwich shop. We opted to sit outside so that we could see the river (even though it was 90+ degrees...but in the shade it was a cool 85 degrees) Gourmet Green 5/5 turkey, creamy almond cilantro jalapeno spread (not spicy to me) kind of reminded me of the green goddess sauce, red onion, roasted red pepper, havarti and spinach. Everything just worked beautifully and it basically felt like eating a salad. Blue Cheese Potato Salad 4/5 I wanted this to be more blue cheesy, but it was still pretty tasty. Though when my bf tasted this, he said it was really blue cheesey so maybe I just want it to be way more intense tasting. So glad that this place is still here and that they still are super delicious :)
