I placed an online order for pick up. Walked in to pick up and headed straight to the "pick up" counter. I stood there for about 3-5 mins waiting to be helped by one of the employees that were standing there but nothing. It was 2 women talking to each other and with one of their backs facing the register. I ordered online. Time for pick up was 12:26pm. I timed my 30 minute lunch based on the pick up time. My sandwich wasn't done until 12:41pm. But it was busy. So I understood and waited. I got my sandwich and left because my lunch break was almost done and mind you, I haven't eaten yet. I opened the wrapper of my sandwich to find, only bacon , mayo, oil, and bread. As the lady wrapped my sandwich, she failed to put some of the lettuce into my sandwich, or she did and it was falling out. There were little pieces of tomatoes. I've never ever had problems before with this location. I couldn't bring it back because I was already back at work. I literally only had 5 minutes to eat. This was not a good sandwich. Place was nice and clean :) I visited Jersey Mike's, and unfortunately, the fountain machine was broken. When I asked Rosemary a simple question about whether they would honor the price for a bottled drink since the fountain drink option was unavailable, she repeatedly told me I didn't have to buy a combo with a drink. Instead of answering my question directly, she became upset and gave me attitude. Thankfully, Evan, the manager, came in, and after I showed him my Elite Yelper offer, he stepped in and saved the day. The sandwich was great, and Evan made my experience excellent. As for Rosemary (or, as she mentioned, she had no name when I asked), she is a young female employee in her early 20s with glasses, and her customer service was terrible. There's no need to judge customers or assume they can't buy a bottled drink just because the machine is broken. A little honesty and politeness can go a long way. We've online ordered through their app. Without fail, they are never done at the time they say they'll be completed with the order. Normally came to this location and it was fine. Just today (10/13/24) put in a mobile order and was supposed to be ready for pick up at 6pm. It is now 6:20 and I'm still waiting for my sandwich. They tell me after waiting 15 minutes that they are out of rosemary bread. Have offered no apology for anything. Looking behind the counter they have 6 bags of orders waiting to be fulfilled. A man who was here when I entered has been waiting at least half hour himself. They should at least offer some sort of compensation for their lack of service. First, maybe second, time I've eaten at a Jersey Milk's Subs shop. I think I did years ago, but if I remember it was a cold sub and a pretty good one. This time, I was looking at used cars and the salesman asked me while taking a test drive in one of the vehicles if I'd like a sub from Jersey Mike's. Well, I was on a mission from a friend of mine, so given the time on this Sunday, there was no way I'd decline this offer. This location is very clean and mostly organized in the interior. It proudly displays its inspection "A" for you as you walk in. I do like that as it pretty much helps me know I'll be getting a safe meal. This time around I went for a hot sub, specifically, the Big Kahuna. I chose wheat bread because I like to go healthy on my breads. I also opted for the regular, which appears to be around 8-10 inches long. It was loaded very well with green pepper, jalapeños, American white cheese (which I like far better than the orange cheese or cheddar. It also had mushrooms and I chose steak as my meat. There is a chicken version of the Big Kahuna as well. The taste of this sub was pretty awesome. All the employees were courteous in every way, which certainly made deciding to come back here in the future easy. I also didn't find anything to complain about the sub itself. All of the staff worked hard and were very courteous. I brought the sub home and found it to be well-prepared and quite tasty. A bit disappointed. I drove from Chula Vista to get my sandwich fix since there are no good sandwich shops around here. It's been a while since I have been to any Jersey Mike's and I always felt satisfied with the value they used to be known for. I'm not sure if it is because of the new minimum wage laws that were passed in California but I was a bit disappointed with the value of the quantity of ingredients. I don't mind paying a little more for quality and value, but the sandwich that was made for me was more bread than meat and ingredients for their "famous" Philly. They used to make sandwiches that would fill you up, leaving you satisfied. I had to tear away at the bread to balance out the lack of ingredients and I left VERY disappointed. Next time I will go to Charley's. Yes it is a commercial business, but at least their servings are consistent, and for the cost, provide maximum value for what you pay for.
