Pho 7 Cow is probably my favorite Vietnamese spot in San Diego. The prices are great, you get a ton of food for your money, and this place is seriously a well-oiled machine. They know how to get people in and out FAST! Make sure you put your name on the waitlist tablet when you walk in. Once you're seated, the food comes out at lightning speed. My favorite thing to order is the cold rice vermicelli noodles with grilled pork and egg rolls. The veggies are always super fresh and crisp, the grilled pork is juicy with the perfect char, and their egg rolls are THE BEST. So crispy and filled with taro, pork, shrimp, glass noodles, and pickled veggies. Sometimes I'll honestly come here just to get an order of egg rolls as a snack because I crave them. I've had the pho a few times too, and it's also really good. Portions are generous, everything comes out fresh and fast, and the prices are still reasonable. There was a bit of a wait to be seated, which is usually a good indicator that this spot is a crowd favorite. We started with the eggrolls. They were delicious and consistent with what you'd expect from a solid pho shop. That said, $11 for six pieces does feel a bit steep for the portion. For pho, I went with the Tai Chin, which comes with well-done brisket and rare beef. They are incredibly generous with the meat portions. I actually finished all my noodles and was searching around for spare strands under the abundance of beef left over, which is a good problem to have. The service was highly efficient across the board. Our food came out quickly, and the staff proactively brought out all the veggies and chilli oil without us needing to flag anyone down. Tried this spot for the first time. Location is in a shopping center with lots of parking. Establishment is clean. Employees are friendly and efficient. Ordered pho and egg rolls. The egg rolls are huge compared to what I'm used to. They were good, hot and fresh. I appreciate that they give one fish dipping sauce per person. Pho wasn't bad. They give a lot of meat that is very tender. Their broth is very clean, though I do wish it was more beefy in flavor. The taste felt more subtle or watered down. Saturday, August 1, 2026 We have lunch there today. I ordered #2 Filet Mignon Pho. My companion ordered. I think #14? Shrimp Pho. For the first time, my filet mignon meat is tougher than usual and contain some fat and grizzle, normally not found in filet mignon which is mostly lean beef. As usual, the broth is piping hot, light and tasty which I like best. It may not be the last time I'm going to eat there but if it happened again, I may have to completely stop eating there and recommend to all my friends and relatives to no longer patronize the restaurant. read more

Their Pho has a good broth but I was more amazed with how tender their meats were. I've ordered a large portion of Pho and not only they put generous portion of meats, all their meats including rare steak and brisket were very tender and good. Their iced vietnamese coffee with condensed milk had a good flavour but little less sweeter than expected. The interior is nice and clean and they have a large space for a dine-in. The meat is thinly sliced so there's a nice texture to the bite. It's marinated and a sweet but not too sweet. There's a nice char that makes the BBQ slices perfectly delicious! Been going here for years now and have brought almost everyone I know to come and enjoy this spot. It's one of my favorite places for pho, especially the rare steak and the house special. The broth to be is the best in South Bay San Diego, and can probably hold its own against some spots on El Cajon Blvd, too. Service is always ALWAY on point, it's one of the first things we noticed before eating any of their food. Wow the pho here is sooo good, I came here w my Vietnamese friend's recommendation and was definitely not disappointed by the house special pho. The meat quality was so good compared to other pho I've had, I'd say everything else was pretty standard but there's not much you can change about pho. My friend also asked for chili oil which went really well with the pho. Service was super fast once we were inside. The wait was kind of long but I can definitely see why it's popular given how good it was worth the wait. They have a paper waitlist that you write your name onto then they call your name so you have to stay right outside the restaurant, it would be nice if they started using a text system where you put your phone number in and receive a text when your table is ready. The food is good. I have been going there since they opened. I would give the food about a 4. My complaint is the service. The last time I went we where being rushed to leave. We were not there for a long time. This time I went, I ordered my food and they brought the wrong item. I told the server politely that it was the wrong order. The server proceeded to argue in my face and raised her voice stating that's what I had ordered. Another server came to calm her down. She then came again to tell me next time I need to tell her exactly what wanted. I was very clear when I placed the order and pointed at the picture. When they brought the new order it had items missing. I told the server items were missing. She became even more upset. The other server had to come and calm her down again. I kept my composure the entire time. Maybe she was having a bad day ot there could have been a language barrrier. It's still not an excuse to treat customers in that manner, specially when the customer is asking politely, understanding people make mistakes. First off walking into the restaurant it is much bigger than the looks of it from the outside. Lots of space and service was great and quick. There's a lot of workers constantly walking around and willing to help. Our food came out super fast as well. We ordered filet mignon pho, spring rolls, and egg rolls. I love that they came out with individual sauces for each person for all the rolls. I've never been to a pho place that gave oranges instead of limes for their pho. There were probably 4-5 parties ahead of me so the wait was around 15-20 minutes for one person. Every table in that large dining room was taken so goes to show you the popularity of this spot EVEN WITH a different popular and trendy pho restaurant across the street. Service-wise: as noted earlier, Pho 7 Cow doesn't stray from the traditional system, so their service was quick, to the point, with no frills about it. Put your name down, get called up and seated, get handed a menu, be ready within a few minutes, order, get your food, eat, pay, bye. There were plenty of workers/servers here so they ran with smooth efficiency. Food-wise: for my recent visit, I ordered the large Pho Dac Biet, goi cuon (spring rolls), and a coconut water. The food came out quick and easy. The pho was fantastic - with great flavor, good temperature broth (some places will serve their pho at a lower temp, and I prefer mine on the hotter side), well cooked noodles, and good quality meat and veggies. The spring rolls were wrapped well and did not fall apart. And the coconut water was the cherry on top of a sizable meal. In summary: Pho 7 Cow is definitely in the small handful of pho restaurants in the city (Pho Hoa and Pho Duyen Mai being among them) that I enjoy and believe actually serve good pho. I live probably 30 minutes from National City and I still am willing to make the trip all for a nice hot bowl of pho. Service is quick and efficient even when they are packed which is an added plus. Highly recommend a visit here whether you are a fan of pho, need a little hangover/sickness cure, or want to try something new. read more

Great go-to spot for pho! They put the 10 in TENdon here if you're a fan of nature's tender noodle-like chews. They do it the best out of any pho place I've been to. I got the #5 with rare steak, tendon and flank steak. They give you a good amount of meat for that meat-per-bite ratio. It's the kind of place where if you have a hankering for pho you just go here without thinking. Their fried egg rolls that you wrap in lettuce and mint are really good as are their spring rolls and peanut sauce. This place is popular - their prices are reasonable, and often every seat is full but their service is super fast, so you won't be waiting long. Plus parking is super easy. Pho makes for great breakfast, and they open at 10 which is perfect. This is a great place to go to for all of your Vietnamese basics like bun, pho, or bahn mi.
