It's loud, fast paced, expensive and filled with a variety of smells, both good and bad. The above description kind of fits Jersey Mike's. Its loud, expensive and filled with smells. However, they got a good thing with their sandwiches, its simple and very fresh. The staff there are very outgoing and very easy to deal with. Helpful workers in Redding? I really like the atmosphere at Jersey Mike's. Almost everyone is really friendly, and seem genuinely interested in making sure that the customer gets the sandwich they want. They recommend topping their cold sandwiches "Mike's Way," and I think Mike has it right! The only thing I would suggest is getting light juice or juice on the side if you're unsure about trying your sub that way, or if you're taking your sandwich to go, as it can get messy! Most of their hot subs are fantastic. It can get a little pricey, but for the quality of the ingredients (the bread especially, mmmmm sooooo good!) I think it's a fair deal. I work nearby, so this has become a regular lunch stop. My first impression was that it would just be another Subway, but it's totally not, they slice the meat and cheese fresh as you order, and every employee knows me when I come in. They even remember my order, or make awesome suggestions if I'm feeling something else other than my usual for the day. Total recommend! read more

I like Jersey Mike's. The staff is friendly and the sandwiches are pretty decent. I've tried about 3 different sandwiches over a month or so. I never leave hungry. I saw someone else comment about a girl using the same gloves to handle money and food. That's never been my experience and I watch for things like that. She must have spaced out when serving that other person. read more

The general manager in Redding needs to be fired!!  Such a bad representation for this company!  He is the most rude, unprofessional manager I have ever run in to.  I was going in to pick up my order and spoke with a girl at the counter who said they were working on it.  Waited about 5 minutes and saw some people that came in after me get there order before mine.  Went back up to the counter and nicely asked if it was still being worked on.  Since it was an app order the girl explained that they had up until a certain amount of time to finish it up.  That is when the manager stepped in.  He basically made me feel like asking a question was something wrong.  He was defensive off the bat, and argumentative. I usually leave yelp reviews to help potential customers know what locations have rude or bad service. I hope corporate pays attention because it looks like I am not the only one who has a complaint.  I think he is trying to make up in attitude what he might be lacking elsewhere if you know what I mean, that's usually the case. read more

Please boycott! They are horrible people running the place! I wanted to love this place, really. There's a great place called Charley's in the Bay Area carrying similar sandwiches, but good. First time I went in with an excited attitude, but no employee could answer any questions. They didn't ask what I wanted on sandwiches, and everyone who worked there pretty much walked around in circles looking confused. Today we went in to get my free birthday sub--because they're WAY too expensive to buy ($8 for a small!)--I asked the girl at the register what were my choices for my free sub, and she just walked away without saying anything. A supervisor came to the register and I repeated my question, and told her they needed to train the employees. I didn't say anything personal, insulting, or rude about anyone. I was just letting her know, as a supervisor, that this is my typical experience at their restaurant. As a former manager of restaurants myself, I know. She flipped out, said she wouldn't make my sub if I couldn't show the email and prove it was my birthday, even if I wanted to buy a sub. I proved it and got my free sub, but she was horrible to me the entire time, insulting and mean. She was challenging me and very rude, IN FRONT OF MY CHILD who was with me. I didn't know she'd said something to the cook, so I was being extra nice to him. I don't know what she said, but he got horrible too. He wouldn't let me have lettuce, mayo, any condiments, then he said I should spend my next birthday at Subway. Is this what our great, friendly Redding has become? I'm used to poor customer service these days, it's sadly just become the norm. So you have to be EXTRAORDINARILY BAD to make me want to cry on my birthday, and inspire me to submit a long review. If you care about friendliness, or at least simply treating the customer with a minimal amount of courtesy, even if only on their birthday...please don't spend your money at Jersey Mike's in Redding. read more

I ordered a Turkey Provolone online, with lettuce, tomato, pickles,peppers, oregano, vinegar, mustard. The only condiments on it were pickles and peppers. The bread is all dried out. What happened?? Maybe the website isn't working correctly? No bueno :{ Won't be going back. read more

If Jersey Mike's Subs signifies what a sandwich from the east coast is supposed to taste like... then I truly feel nothing but remorse and pity for those deprived yankees. Let me begin by just saying that only a silly prideful moron would open a sandwich shop in Northern California and not have any remote indication of what a dutch crunch roll is. When I walked in I was mortified to see iceberg lettuce. I was even more shocked when the iceberg lettuce was not decour but in fact an option in which some poor soul could put on their sandwich only later to have diarrhea and be short 8.00 dollars for such a tasteless white roll with meat and cheese smothered in olive oil. Needless to say I was greatly disappointed. There was nothing unique or great about Jersey Mikes. It is my sincere hope that the place goes out of business and a Wilda's grill opens up in their location. read more

I love this place. In comparison to other sub shops in the area they are a little on the pricey side but for some reason I don't mind. It might be that they slice the meat and the cheese to order on the counter in front of you. it always tastes super fresh, love their cold subs, but you have to order the #99 when going for the cheesesteak, its a combo of all their cheesesteaks wrapped up into one mound of deliciousness. I really recommend anyone to come into Jersey Mike's. The service is awesome! All the employees are friendly, especially Cali and Michelle. Michelle is usually on the slicer and Cali is topping off the sandwich for me. They know exactly what I always want on there and I do not even have to tell them. If I am having a bad day, I know if I come in there to eat I will be greeted with a smile and ask how my day is going. The quality of the food is fresh and so yummy. All of the veggies are sliced fresh as well. I also really enjoy how they support our local veterans. There are TVs on but on mute but that's okay because I wouldn't be able to hear them as I am eating my sandwich anyway because everyone is in there ordering their sandwiches and all the employees are interacting with the customers. As someone who absolutely can't eat gluten or wheat, I can honestly say that the staff took every precaution possible to prevent cross-contamination. Their gluten free 6 inch bread rolls were individually wrapped, all equipment was thoroughly wiped down, every single staff member changed their gloves, they even have separate knives that they keep clean and tightly sealed until they're used for gluten-free prep. Staff took my order seriously, but also made me feel welcome, and were eager to please. It was the best gluten free sub sandwich I've had, the bread wasn't chewy like other gluten free breads, but also held together well. They even have separate condiments for gluten free orders. It isn't a gourmet or California cuisine or health food place, but it doesn't promote itself as that. It's a sub shop with fresh sandwiches that have great flavor and freshness. We originally went to Jersey Mike's when the first opened because my wife received some free coupons. We've been there several times since then, but I think that's probably going to end. It's really a mixed bag for us. I usually get the Original Italian, "Mike's Way" with mayo on both sides of the bread, add pepperoncini, and "Light Juice." The first 2 or 3 sandwiches I got were very good with lots of meat, though, the first one was absolutely saturated with "Juice" (Oil and vinegar). Order it "Light" and it's about the right amount. We've also got the Club and it's also very good. The problem is if you want to do any sort of variation from normal. There are too many people on the line so the special order part sometime gets mixed up. I have to pay close attention to keep track of my sandwich to make sure they got the mayo right, added the pepperoncini, and don't drown the sandwich in that "Juice." They are usually busy when I'm there so keeping the worker's attention requires more effort than it should. I decided I wanted a pastrami sandwich. The closest thing to that is the ruben sandwich. But I didn't want the thousand island dressing, the kraut, or the swiss cheese. I just wanted mayo, LIGHT spicy mustard, onions (not the grilled onions that comes on the Ruben), pepperoncini, and pepperjack cheese. The person taking my order insisted that we had to start with the Ruben sandwich and make the modifications from there. It took about 2 minutes to get the order straight. If you order a hot sandwich they make it behind the line, away from you so you can't make sure they don't screw it up. So I go down to the register, pay for my order, and wait...and wait...and wait...at least 10 minutes, probably more. I stopped looking at my watch after a while. I finally get my sandwich and take it home to eat, about 5+ minutes away. I open it up and the first thing I notice is that about 3+ inches of bread on both ends of the sandwich is so saturated with liquid that it's complete mush, like baby food. Next is that instead of LIGHT mustard, it appeared as if it was extra mustard. Finally, they used both grilled and fresh onions so that there was a huge amount of onions that were completely saturated with mustard. The pastrami was broken into small pieces and was very dry. I tried to remove the excess onions but the whole sandwich was a complete mess with about a third of it without a bun. That was a lot of mess for almost $15. I immediately called to complain. Eventually I spoke to the manager and instead of admitting they may have screwed up the sandwich, she strongly suggested that I just order the sandwiches the way that they come on the menu. I explained that they don't have a pastrami sandwich on the menu except for their Ruben, which is definitely not a regular pastrami sandwich. she still suggested that I just try it even after I told her I didn't like sour kraut. She finally agreed to replace my sandwich with something else. I tried a roast beef sandwich and they screwed that one up because I had originally ordered a "giant" and they gave my wife (who picked up the replacement a few days later) a "regular," and she didn't know what size. I had told them over the phone what I wanted but they screwed it up. So after bitching yet again, the manager agreed to replace it again, this time they got it right...although it was pretty light on the meat this time. The manager was polite, but it was obvious that she was pissed off. We recently gave them another chance with a 3-sandwich order. There were no screw ups, but my Original Italian barely had enough meat on it whereas when they first opened they had about the same meat as a Subway with "extra meat." Not anymore. Redding has lots of sandwich places that cost the same or less and none of them are as special order unfriendly as Jersey Mike's. I've had enough and will be shopping elsewhere. read more

I have been to a lot of Jersey Mike locations. This one is by far the the worst one. The Redding location is just barely above subway and only because they cut everything in front of you. They also recently adjusted their sandwiches. They have thined the meat and cheese, and added more lettuce to keep the weight of the sandwich the same. The owner needs to step it up a lot. The girl who worked the cash register and did the fixings in the sandwiches was rude. Her name was Sara. I watched as she took the lettuce that fell on the counter and put it back into the lettuce bin and then dumped it all onto new lettuce. When I told her I didn't want the lettuce that was on the counter she started slamming things down and was very short. When I asked her to input our phone number it was like I had asked her for $1000. She threw the receipt at us and turned away. I was hesitant to stop here due to the many negative reviews, but my husband really wanted to. He ordered the Italian and thought it was great. I had a few bites and agreed that the meat tasted fresh and the sandwich was delicious.. Since we brought it home to eat, the delay gave the oil/vinegar time to soak in. Tried this place for the first time and won't be back. Floor was dirty, options we're limited, bread was stale. ...but the real reason I'm writing a review is the girl making my sandwich grossed me out by using the cash register with gloves on then proceeding to keep them on and make the food for the people after me. I don't get why she didn't take her gloves off after making my sandwich and ring me up then put new gloves on to make people's food. Money is dirty and I was hesitant to even eat my food after seeing this who knows what gross stuff is going on that people can't see. Hope I don't get food poisoning this place prob won't make it a year read more
