Our first visit. We walked in a little after noon on a Monday. We were greeted promptly and with a smile and asked our seating preference. We got seated and our server was right over asking for our drink order. A few minutes later we placed our order. I got the California burger with Swiss and a side of garlic fries. My meal was good and messy lol. Randy ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and didn't enjoy it all that much. Didn't seem like it was grilled and the chicken wasn't seasoned. Bland. Our server was awesome. Friendly and efficient and checked on us several times. The only real issue we had was where we were seated. In a booth right by the kitchen doors. The seats rumbled most of the time, like we shared the wall with the dishwasher or something. It was uncomfortable. Definitely steer clear of the kitchen booth seats. read more

Went to this location last night for a birthday party. There was 7 in our party and it was at 8:05 ish. Three of us had different pasta orders and all three pastas were very bland. In my opinion the cheese bread was the high light on my order. Can't remember what pasta I did order but I know it had bacon in it and chicken. It was filling so don't get me wrong there. The taste was just not there. On a separate note I can't believe a nice semi fine dining location does not provide fresh ice tea. I'm sorry but, the ice tea that comes out of a drink station is syrupy and has bad crap. Rather fresh ice tea is actually refreshing. At least next time I know to bring my own ice tea in. read more

I've ordered to go from here a few times, and I get the steak flatbread every time. It's so flavorful and delicious! The steak is always cooked perfectly. I definitely recommend trying it if you've never had it. I also ordered the stuffed knots. They smell great and they taste alright. I don't think I'd order them again though. read more

It's in the name -- brew house ---and frankly our overall experience at Pete's was well above expectations for a taphouse, in almost every way. The vibe was casual and warm but not rickety, with a nice full bar/lounge to one side and a big dining area to the other. Nice big TV screens in the bar, and a decent tap list along with interesting cocktails. We got friendly attentive, outstanding service from our waiter, all our questions answered, and our meals served up hot and fresh. The fries were nice and crispy, and my chicken/avocado sandwich came out well-stuffed with a nice slab of tender bird. A nice surprise all around. Plenty of parking too. read more

Husband fell into the rose bushes as we were going into the restaurant. He was a bloody mess...legs,arms, and mid section. We went in and ate as we were a group of 4. Manager apologizes when she saw what happened and said dinner was on the house after we ordered, that was nice. Dinner was not on the house. Came here on a random sunday with some family. We aren't from the area, but we were visiting my nephew who goes to college nearby. We got here around 2pm and were seated right away. There were a few other parties, but wasn't super busy. This is your typical brewhouse type of place. They had a lot of food options. The portions were really large and the food was pretty good. We got loaded potato skins, burgers, sandwiches, flatbreads. Everybody was happy with their meals, the food came out quickly, and our server was friendly. I'd definitely come back if I am passing through the area again. I wish we would have tried some of their desserts as they looked really great, but sadly not this time. read more

Loudness during lunch service: 89 decibels measured using a sound meter. I'm on a one-woman path to beg restaurant owners to invest in acoustical materiels and design considerations to enhance the dining experience. Six of us went for a goodbye lunch for a longtime employee who was retiring. Due to the loudness of the restaurant, we couldn't really talk to more than our neighbor or person across from us. The food was delicious and speedy, which is always great for a weekday work lunch. Our table ordered the ahi salad, a flat bread, some burgers and onion rings. Everyone was really happy with the serving sizes and quality of food. Service was fantastic and our server also did a great job keeping our sodas full. Come on into Pete's and order some great food. I was in your restaurant today for lunch with two of my friends. I ordered a cobb salad and when finished I asked for a to go box. She brought me one and while I was trying to get the remaining salad I realized it would not fit. When she came by I asked for a larger box and she said she didn't have any larger ones. I then asked her to help me and she said NO and walked away. I told the cashier and left after spending $90.00 for lunch with my friends. You lost a customer due to this rude employee. Ate there today. Dinner was very good but way more than we could eat so got take home container and they bagged it for us which was very nice. In getting me to our car because I have a walking disability and am 83...in getting me to the car we did not realize we didn't have the bag with our take home in it. When we got home and realized this we called immediately and were told the food is thrown away after 10 minutes. How many people can even reach their homes in 10 minutes. At the cost of groceries today, this practice is terrible. Just the fact that we (or people in general) even go out to eat is noteworthy. I think you should at least hold the food for an hour. I don't think that's too much to ask. read more

I live out of town, but was in Redding for work and wanted lunch that wasn't fast food. I found Pete's and decided to stop in. I ordered the steak salad and it did not disappoint. The crispy onions were my favorite part and the steak was cooked perfectly. The portion was huge and I had more than enough left over. I was greeted immediately and sat in Amanda's section. She was so attentive and quick to refill drinks and offer recommendations. My experience was quick and delightful. I will definitely be coming back next time I am in town and will ask to be sat in her section. Great experience, great menu options and wonderful ambiance. Unfortunately there might have been a mix up of which server was incharge of our table. Multiple people seated after us helped right away. About 20 minutes later I let the person who sat us know we haven't been helped yet she was super nice. Hey its busy i get it. But we weren't even greeted. Booth infront and behind newly seated and being helped. I guess communication problem. Again it happens. Main waitress very sweet. Just super long wait for us. 2 adults and a kid. The only reason I give Pete's three stars is the same reason I continue to go back - the food is good. The service, however, is lacking. Everytime I have gone (minus once), the service is subpar. First off, the servers do not appear to be in sections. Our server last night was all over the dining room. The expediters bring the food to the table, basically throw it down, and run off with out asking if you need anything else or making sure your food is even correct. I know they help the servers but it makes it all very impersonal and reflects poorly on the server. If this is their business model, they need to look at it closely. Last night, our server was very nice but not so attentive. She took our order, brought our drinks and salad and then we didn't see her again until about twenty minutes later. In the middle of that, the expediter brings our food and literally runs off because she was getting off shift. We needed more napkins and ranch for the pizza. Twenty minutes later when we finally saw our server was when we got napkins and ranch, and our drinks finally refilled which had been sitting empty at the edge of the table. We were right next to the host stand and the hosts walked past our table several times and had to have seen empty glasses, our maybe not since they seem to purposely avoid eye contact. In the end, I related these concerns to our server who tried to make it right by deducting 20% from the bill. I will eat at Pete's again but I guess I just have to expect lousy service unless management takes a look at how things are running. read more

We were in town seeing family and needed a location to watch the Dallas Cowboys vs The Detroit Lions. Pete's filled the needed as a spot that was showing the game. We ordered an appetizer of Calamari and a Large Pete's Garlic Italian Pizza that we split. It was delicious! The Calamari was crispy and the Pizza was cooked through and tasty. No complaints here on it! The service was great! She ensured our beers were filled and waters never dry! The place itself was clean with cool decor! It was packed and still wasn't too loud at all. I was visiting a friend in town and we went to Pete's for an early dinner. The restaurant is large, but comfortable. It's not too loud and they have several TV's spread around showing sports. We were placed in a very comfortable booth, but they also have tables to accommodate larger groups. We were greeted by friendly staff and seated right away. Our server attended to use promptly and was training a new server. Both were very friendly, welcoming, and expertly took our drink and food order. The menu has a bit of everything with many pizza options. We both ordered chicken wings. The wings were large and cooked perfectly. I ordered the Garlic Parm wings which had fresh Parmigiana cheese. They were priced fairly and came with carrots and celery. My only complaint is they only come with 8 wings. So I ordered 2 of them. Overall a great meal and I can't wait to come back. read more

Cannon is simply a super nice guy and exactly the kind of server you always hope to find! Good service make the dining experience so much better and that's what we got Saturday night with Cannon. We had the deep fried Artichoke hearts to start. Yummy but the sauce would be better on the side rather than on the plate with the chokes on top, getting soggy. My partner had the house burger. Big and good and cooked to temp. My son had the Alfredo which Cannon recommended and we were not disappointed! It was really good. I had chicken Parm. I recently attended a work lunch at Petes Brewhouse. We were a good sized group and they accommodated us quickly. The server was very personable and took time with each of us as we ordered our food, I had the Ahi tuna salad, and it was delicious. Great presentation cooked perfectly, and the dressing was very nice to accompany the tuna. I'd never been to Pete's before but it's instantly one of my favorites in Redding. Great atmosphere for talking, watching sports or just visiting the bar. Super quick and helpful service, they are pleasant and menu knowledgeable. The food was awesome. The garlic knots (not pictured) were fabulous meaning the pizza crust must be to die for. Children can dine here but the menu doesn't offer a lot that the average child would typically eat. Choices like seared ahi, New York style hand tossed pizza, Thai shrimp, jalapeños burger, Philly cheese sandwich, & more, the restaurant is a casual place to get together for a meal. The restaurant is somewhat dim lit with large windows that offer blinds the customer can easily open/close. There is a bar with an attentive server, as well as high top and booth tables to accommodate small and medium groups. A large group may be harder to accommodate due to the spacing but walk in to see what you think & ask a server what can be done. In my experience, the service has always been very good & the servers are quite fun & friendly. Surprisingly, the coffee is really good and they offer vanila creamer. The iced tea is a little weak but good on a hot summer day. Portions of food are generous as well & I feel even with most things suffering from inflation, this restaurant isnt too over priced.
