For the past year, I've been wanting to stop in, as one of my neighbors is a big fan of Jersey Mike's So at 4:15 today on a Friday afternoon, I stopped in. The guests were coming and going regularly. This place was hopping and one worker was on the phone taking a huge order. I knew this was the place to be in Simsbury for grinders. I stepped up in, ordered the original Italian, medium sized, which is a half a grinder. I watched as the gentleman freshly sliced provolone cheese, ham, prosciutto, capicola, salami, and pepperoni onto the roll. The semi complete grinder then went to the next station where the lovely woman added "Mike's way with juices" to the grinder. This consisted of white onions, lettuce, tomato, Italian spices, vinegar and olive oil. When I got home, I dug into this grinder and the explosion that took place of all these different wonderful flavors went meshing in my mouth Every flavor was better than the next! This was spot on This was a great early dinner for Friday. The servers were extremely friendly, very knowledgeable, and positive about the product and working environment. The store itself was very clean. While the grinder was not piled high with meats like your local grinder shop, this was a very solid place to eat. The price was reasonable about $12 for the half grinder. Chips and drinks were also available, but I passed on because I was bringing the grinder home. I look forward to returning and trying something different. But this original Italian was spot on and a solid choice. read more

im a regular here, and its nice to see the energy of the people working there still being as positive as ever, definitely the best Jersey Mike's location in the state. speaking of other locations, the layout from ordering your sub to checkout is so much better than, for example, the Enfield and Avon locations. Food is always phenomenal, granted I get only the same sub every time. I loved this Jersey Mikes in Simsbury, CT, but the last couple times that I've gotten grinders there, I've gotten 1/2 the meat that I used to get. The fillings are alot thinner then they were 6 months ago. I realize this happens often after a shop has gotten established, but I still find it sad. read more

Had an appointment nearby and decided to come here for lunch. When you walk into the place it has a decent size dining area to sit. You're greater at the door once you walk in. You walk up to the counter and order your order and can watch them make it. Everything looks fresh and I like that. When we got to the counter to pay. The lady at the register helped us get a great deal. We got the big kahuna and that was so good. The bread was extra soft and the meat was just flavorful and was so good. What I liked the most about this place is that for the people coming in to place their order. You're not cramped and packed in hovering over those who are eating. read more

I've been a regular customer of Jersey Mikes since finding it near my office in Maryland 4 years ago. I was excited when a store opened in my hometown in Connecticut. A retailer can have a great product but when bad service comes with it, the product doesn't matter. I ordered a BLT on my app, and because I had enough points, ordered a 2nd BLT using the points. I used the customize option to provide that instruction. When I got to the store for pick-up, there was only 1 BLT in the bag, so I told the person at the cash register we were 1 BLT short, and reiterated my order from the app. Then 2 others entered to the discussion, one who chose to speak to me as a 5-yr old explaining what happened (wrongly) as no one read the instructions in the order. I will never patronize this store again. I left with my one BLT, drove down the road to a grocery store with a deli that made me a 12" BLT on wheat roll for $10 - not the $16 Jersey Mike charges. They took over the space last occupied by Peachwave Frozen Yogurt, and their design team deserves high marks. They did a great job - the place looks gorgeous. At times this week, the line was 20-30 people deep, and when we approached for a late Saturday lunch, yes...the line was out the door. One of the guys on the line was curiously wearing full KISS face makeup, so checking him out sure made the wait go quickly. Actually, the line moved very fast, considering they slice all of the cold cuts to order. Jersey Mike's hasn't even been open for a week, but they were already running like the proverbial well-oiled machine yesterday. I was curious about how many worker bees they had buzzing around, so I counted up eleven of them, which is pretty amazing for a small store. Our Ham and Cheese sub was flawless- plenty of meat and cheese and veggies on an excellent loaf. And I have to mention how nice the staff was -it was like being in a Trader Joe's or Chick Filet, they were all smiling, engaging, friendly and a pleasure to interact with. Here's an example, as we waited on the big line, inching closer to the ordering counter, one of those worker bees was filling up the dining room table napkin dispensers. We happened to be standing in front of a table, so when she came over, she apologized for asking us to step aside. She was so sweet and so friendly, and so joyful, the few minutes we spent with her were a real pleasure. read more

Horrible visit! I went there this evening to use my free sub certificate I got by giving many gift cards out for Christmas which I'm going to rethink going forward First, the tall gentleman with glasses, which I didn't get his name that made my sandwich incorrect and tried to tell his coworker I ordered it that way. which I did not!!! He didn't listen!! That's when this all started as this location in Simsbury Ct. is horrible and I believe dirty because this was by second bad experience. Anyway, as I was ordering this evening, I looked to the floor behind the counter to find about the same amount of food on the floor!!! as what's in a sandwich and then some in front of the grill and by the bread tray. Even a full loaf of Italian bread right on the floor by the bread tray!!! I'm sure everyone ordering had to see it. disgusting!! One employee was even stepping on some food debris in front of the grill. I said to the front people that it seems like a lot of food on the floor and they just looked at me and didn't say anything almost smiled, I asked the lady by the register who the manager was only to my surprise!! I found out It was the same guy I dealt with about a year ago or so, who wasn't a manager at the time Because ALL the tables in the front were filthy dirty and the garbage was overflowing, so to sit down and eat we needed to clean the table ourselves, which we did then he comes out to tell me he's too busy to clean tables and no manager was working that evening to complain. So I guess they promoted this guy and now it seems no one cleans the tables still, and now there's more food on the kitchen floor. As we were eating our food, he must've sent out some guys cause they started sweeping the floor, wiping the tables and cleaning up the place like you wouldn't believe it's unbelievable that you would even have to ask to have that done at a place that serves food and should be kept clean. This place is going downhill fast believe me, this is disgusting to order your food and look at that on the floor. I'm going to the Avon location after it opens and if any of these characters are there, I'll never go back to Jersey Mike's again!!! You could keep all my points. read more

I guess I am the exception.. I find Mike's cold cut subs to be mediocre. They are fresh but if it weren't for the "juice" they would lack any real flavor. The ham , American style prosciutto and the coppa all pretty much taste the same without any real flavor. Staff is good though and the service is prompt . read more

Grant it this is my first time at a Jersey Mike's, and I did go at the lunch hour with this branch being rather new. They had quite a few people working there, the line was long and per the order rack there were a lot of orders called in. This place really caught us by surprise. Outstanding food. We ordered two beef dishes, and two chicken dishes (I sampled 3 of the 4 dishes). The spicy cumin beef was mind blowing. The heat was not for the timid. The beef in both dishes was thick, tender, and juicy. Never seen that from Chinese take out. The beef with cilantro was just awesome. I'd replace bok choy with broccoli next time if I could. The broccoli chicken dish was also over the top. The sauces on the three I tried were the best I'd ever had. read more

Stopped in to check what the hype was all about. Jersey Mike's is the bastard child of Subway and D'Angelos but without the variety or fresh veggies. The place was clean and the staff was nice so no issues there. Sizing was just silly. Their "giant" grinder is just a standard 12 inch. Pricing was obscene though! $7 more than I pay at any pizza shop in the area. They're a "try it once" sort of place. read more

Awesome having a sub shop so close, like any grand opening we received a TON of coupons and deals which are crazy to pass up. The "regular" traditional subs are loaded with non-hormone sliced meats and you can customize to your liking. Add a variety of toppings or sauces and condiments- delish. I didn't know it was traditional to add oil and vinegar to subs so although it was tasty, it does make the bread a bit soggy if you're not eating immediately. I ended up making another whole sandwich from leftovers from some of the meat in the middle. Great value! read more

This store is doing a coat drive at the moment, and next month will be doing a toy drive in conjunction with their sister stores in Southington and Glastonbury. They will give you a gift card for some type of sandwich if you donate! So happy there's a Jersey Mike's in Simsbury! Every grinder is tasty and worth every penny. The cookies are also amazing. We have been coming into the Simsbury location since it opened. The last time we were in, I had just had major surgery and was released from the hospital that day and was moving very slowly, and my husband and I were really impressed with how accommodating and friendly all of the employees were, especially the manager. They took our order quickly, efficiently and correctly and helped us get in and out ASAP, which was so appreciated. The food was especially delicious that night! Mixed reviews. My husband had an Italian cold cut grinder and thought it was great.... But, I ordered a tuna sandwich. I would have refused this item had I payed more attention. I briefly got a look at the tuna as the employee was wrapping it. It looked like a soupy sludge with about 4x the mayo needed. Where was the tuna. It was really a mayo sandwich and way too much mayo to boot. I will not be returning. Very disappointed. read more

Tried the Simsbury location which had its grand opening yesterday. The line outside on opening day was at least 30 people long for a good part of the day. Today had lines out the door for most of the day. I was able to get on line just inside the doors at 1:45 p.m. with about 10-12 customers ahead of me and the hard working, efficient crew had me on my way happily clutching my regular roast beef sub (R-6) in about 7 minutes. The roast beef was terrifically thin sliced right in front of me, medium pink and quite flavorful (not the typical overly processed meat you get at a lot of chains). I chose the white sub roll which was out of the oven warm, also sliced right in front of me and had a nice crust to it. The roll accentuated what was inside it as opposed to overwhelming it by being too big or chewy. I'm a minimalist - white american cheese, lettuce, black pepper and mayo. Rookie submaker did a great job putting it together and the very finely shredded fresh and cool lettuce really made the sub that much better. It's not cheap ($9.75) but you will love your sub. This is going to be a big hit in this Town - when I left there were at least 20 people behind me! read more

I went to the Jersey Mike's in Bristol. I switch it up between Jersey Mike's and Firehouse subs on Farmington Avenue. They are both good, but I think Firehouse subs is a better. Today, at Jersey Mike's, the grinder roll was stale - so that makes a difference. read more
