Great little sandwich shop! Flew into the area and was looking for a quick lunch. Found The Kitchen on Yelp and thought I'd give it a try. Glad I did! It's attached to a gas station, but don't let that fool you. I had the Raven wrap featuring their blackened turkey. Looked great! Loaded with meat. What a little gem this is! While waiting for our passengers at Bradley Intl, we had time to grab some lunch. I found this on yelp and the lady at the front desk at Signature recommended it as well. Yes, it's in a gas station, but it's not what you would expect. It's very busy and they have it down to a science to pump out great sandwiches. The meatball grinder was one of the best I've had. The bread was so soft and fresh that I couldn't stop eating it even though it was large. The staff is extremely friendly and they have a ton working so they can keep up with the traffic flowing into the restaurant. Definitely check these guys out! The kitchen is located at the Philips 66 gas station along with Dublin donuts. I always go to Dunkin' Donuts for the coffee and especially since my daughter works there. But, I'm so tired of the same breakfast sandwich they have at Dunkin' Donuts. If your looking for breakfast sandwiches. Look n further. The kitchen makes breakfast sandwich. I wish I knew this a long time ago. I only thought they had regular deli meat sandwiches, chicken tenders, hot dogs and fries as well as salads. You can also go to the kitchen to grab Sandwich meat by the pound if you want. That I didn't know you can do. Until one day I asked if they sell meat by the pound. Then the next week I asked if they make breakfast sandwiches. And OMG they do! So much better than the sandwiches at Dunkin'. Not only do they make the sandwiches on their flat top. But, they use actual eggs you crack. Not the bagged eggs. And real bacon. You can also use other meats they have on the deli selections of meats they have. But, how can you beat eating bacon, egg and cheese on a fresh roll. If you are looking for some good decent size sandwich meat I suggest you try the kitchen first. The service is fast and they will try to accommodate any request you have. Just because it's not on the menu. Doesn't mean they don't make it. Just ask to see if they do. If they don't. No biggie. We drive by here all the time and never thought about getting food here. Probably because it doesn't really pop out and I never search for sandwiches on yelp. We finally got take out here after a friend's recommendation and are so happy that we did. The ingredients are fresh and delicious and everything was put in perfect proportions. I called them kind of late not remembering that covid hours are a thing, but they still took my order and it was delicious! I got the jerk chicken ranch and the nuke and both were phenomenal. Wow, what a great little find! Who would have thought that this amazing little sandwich shop located at a gas station would produce such amazing sandwiches! The place is huge, with a walk up counter to place your order. I got the sweet Italian sausage with peppers onions and a delicious mustard. It was absolutely delicious! I honestly wish this place was closer to me because it was so good. The prices were great and the food is top notch! Get here if you can. My only regret was not getting something with roast beef. Someone ordered it after me and it looked absolutely amazing! The Italian grinder is something I would go back for. It's the grinder I often get and the easiest for me to rate a place solely off of! Very good food although the only items I've tried were the chicken tenders and the jerk chicken ranch sandwich. Only problem is that the fryer is usually closed by the time I get in, must be because they're usually slow with customers around that time. I really like the jerk chicken ranch it's very spicy and since you can put it in a wrap it's easier to take it on the go. I get real tired of the "italian cuisine" in this area. After 10 years of working around the airport lunch time gets mundane. This place was something the area needed. I call in my order then customize it and by the time I pull out of the driveway I know its ready for me. All the deli sandwiches are just how you want, and even better is Taco Thursday. IMO Best Deli in the area, and possibly in the State! Yes, it is inside the Phillips 66 where the D&D is, so getting gas, coffee and a great sandwich while traveling out of Bradley is easy. I work nearby and have been getting lunch here since they first opened and have always been impressed. The Boars Head meat sandwiches and tuna and chicken salads have always been outstanding and I've watched the menu expand to include all kinds of well prepared weekly specials like fresh tacos and steak sandwiches. I am also impressed with the cleanliness of both the kitchen and the seating area. To top it off the service is quick and friendly. Awesome, well-run deli, do NOT pass it up! read more
