Everything is made fresh to order, and it shows, especially in their chicken cutlets. They're sliced thin, hand-breaded, and come out of the oven golden and crisp. Their chicken parm grinder is a must, but the menu has tons of options to customize exactly how you like it. Portions are generous, the ingredients are fresh, and now they even serve booze! Stopped in to get lunch for my wife and myself. We decided to try the eggplant parm and chicken parm, and split. After trying them, I DIDN'T WANT TO SHARE! Meh is about all I felt when I tried their chicken "parm' if the entire sandwhich had a teaspoon of sauce it would surprise me. Lightly sauced is an understatement, no flavor on breading, no parmesan cheese. Not even a napkin thrown in for a to go order. I was spoiled living near Italian owned places that knew how to make authentic recipes. To think this is something I've wanted to try. Disappointed, honestly not worth the trip. There is a pizza place in Seymour CT called Pizzaros this is by far the best parm grinder I've tried in CT. I really like the chicken parmigiana wrap. Delicious combination of fried chicken with marinara and cheese. Pick up time was accurate and food was hot. Service was courteous. Inside dining was small but there is outside patio but Unfortunately I didn't see it. The shop is connected to a golf driving range. I've now come here three times and each time have felt like it taste good but for the price the wait time and the amount of food you get it's almost not worth it. I have asked for extra sauce, extra cheese multiple times now and both times I'm like wow there is still almost no sauce and barely an extra bit of cheese, which is kind of unfortunate because their sauce is very good. Service is amazing. I love it. Everyone there is very nice but it's not my go to spot. Claudia's is a bit outside my normal driving radius for sandwiches, but I think Claudia's is one of the better grinder shops in Hartford County. I've probably been three times now and once recently. I vary my grinder orders a bit, but I'm most likely to order an Italian Combo and Claudia's has a good one. In my recent visit, I ordered the Italian Combo as is. At many places, I modify it a bit by asking for less meat, more veggies and more whatever sauce or condiment seems to be their specialty because I prefer a certain balance of juiciness and acidity to offset the saltiness of the meat. I would make that adjustment next time I ordered at Claudia's, but the meats and veggies were high quality and the bread was fresh. Claudia's definitely makes one of the better Italian Combos. I just need to tweak it a bit to my tastes. There is a small seating area inside. Nothing fancy, but functional. Service is friendly. Five Stars. read more

I was greeted with smiles and friendly staff. Nothing is more pleasing than happy friendly people in a service related industry. I had seen a photo on IG showcasing one of their sauced up grinders. I think it was a chicken parmigiana grinder which looked sensational. So that's what I ordered. The chicken was tender, the tomato sauce was sweet and tasty. Melted cheese and a soft bun was very enjoyable and suited my taste. The bun is NOT overwhelming or overbearing. I hate when the bread is too much versus the food which is supposed to be the highlight of the meal. This was my first visit here and it was a favorable experience. When you call to place your order, make sure you have them read it back to you four times because it's like dealing with a six-year-old. I wanted a plain cutlet sandwich and I received everything on it including mayonnaise which I am allergic to. No use calling and complaining that's why I left it here. The parm was the best choice of the three, but they were all delicious! Service was excellent - wait wasn't too long and the ambiance was fun! We'd just been to Parm in NYC the day before to have their chicken parm sandwich, and in many ways, this sandwich was better. The thinly sliced then breaded and fried chicken is so good! I was able to make it out to Claudia's yesterday for lunch and I'm so happy I did. I ordered ahead online a chicken cutlet grinder and I must say my pick up was super easy. Everyone working was super friendly and said hello right when you walked in. The place is small, but it feels big with how busy it was and how happy everyone was to be there. I can tell a lot of regulars go there for lunch and it's nice to see a business thrive with how authentic their workers are. The sandwich itself was delicious and it was still warm when I picked it up and I definitely picked it up later than I wanted to, probably at the 35 minute mark. I got a really simple sandwich to try on my first visit here because I heard the chicken cutlets were delicious. The breading on it was nice and it wasn't overly seasoned. The bread itself seemed fresh and perfectly fluffy on the inside while maintaining that nice crunch in a toasted grinder roll. Overall, really impressed with how easy it was to order and how huge my portion was. I definitely saved the other half for the next day. I would recommend anyone to stop by if you're in the area. I tried this place for the first time while I was in the area and it didn't disappoint. There is plenty of parking and a few chairs inside and outside. The staff were patient with me as I took time to read the menu and decide what I want. I don't eat meat so I opted for the eggplant parmesan and eggplant American style grinders. Both were really good, the eggplant was sliced thinly and the bread tasted great. It took about 15min to get my food after I ordered because it was really busy when I went. Hands down, Claudia's served up one of the very best grinders I've had in a very long time. Italian Cold Cut grinders are my weakness, and I just about always order them. Claudia's 8" version was $9.95 and I gotta tell you, it sure seemed like a bargain when I picked it up because it was as heavy as a bowling ball. I don't know how much meat was in there, but if you told me it was a half a pound, I'd say you were probably low. It was a ridiculously large portion of ham, salami, provolone, pepperoni on a very fresh loaf with plenty of lettuce and tomato and onions. I cut it in half and had it for a very filling lunch on two occasions. So yeah, the portion was impressive, but what about the taste and quality? Excellent, ten out of ten baby! The two guys behind the counter worked like demons filling the take-out and walk up orders. They were both quite pleasant and chatty. This place keeps popping up in my social media and yelp feed. Who doesn't love a good grinder joint? My wife and I are serious and regular consumers of grinders and there's actually a couple of great places a stone's throw from my home in West Hartford but nothing quite like Claudia's. I was particularly drawn in by the reviews of the chicken cutlet (my wife's favorite). We pored over the menu before driving there mere minutes after they opened. We knew what we wanted: a whole chicken cutlet (mayo, lettuce, tomato, cheese and half with sweet peppers) and a whole roast beef with the same toppings (sans sweet peppers). Both were HUGE and absolutely delicious. I could see the roast beef before it was sliced and it was lean and looked exactly the way I like it. The chicken cutlets are thin and also lean. They pile the meats and toppings on big time. You're paying $19 for a quality grinder that will last you 4 meals. Also of note: the tomatoes were nice and fresh, not mealy and really sang on the grinders. The staff was 99% friendly although the person who was answering the phone (while we waited watching Seinfeld in the restaurant) was a little mean to someone placing a phone order. Not sure what that was about (she was kind to us). I will definitely return for another massive, delicious sandwich. read more

Last time I visited was several years ago. It was delicious back then and I was a little nervous it wasn't gonna live up to the expectations I had built up. The Nancy special is what we got and it didn't disappoint. I've tried grinders from countless places and nothing hits like Claudia's. The cutlets are paper thin, lightly breaded and fried to perfection. The bread is fresh and lightly toasted for a perfect crunch. To top it all off get a sauce on the side to dip it in. I saw this place from a TikTok as their top Grinder shop in CT. I was greeted by a woman who took my order. It was 1pm and they were busy. Looks like everyone came at once. Two older gentlemen who look like regulars were sitting inside, two college kids waiting for their order and me and another guy. Place is very small but full of character. The eggplant parm. The bread was toasted with butter and I think that made the grinder. The eggplant parm was not greasy like others but it lacked flavor. I'll definitely come back and try other grinders. Have been there twice now. It's a small little place on Farmington Ave in Farmington. Seems pretty busy both times I went. So my most recent trip I had the chicken cutlet grinder. It was pretty good. Cutlet is tastier than most I've had in the area. Better than Tommy's Place and Cravings for sure. It's a bit pricey, $16.00 for the 8" sub. With that said it filled me up and I prob would go back if I was in area. I don't think I would go out of my way for it which is what I usually give 5 stars for. I would say 3.5 stars but not an option on Yelp. The other grinder I got was Italian combo but I wouldn't say it's that much different from typical Italian deli. The cutlet is one to get. Next time I'll try the chicken parm grinder which gets lots of love too based on reviews. read more
