My friend made the journey up from Farmington and met me for dinner here, and it was a wonderful experience From the moment we walked in, we were greeted friendly and seated Our friendly server came over and took our order for drinks. We both ordered pink lemonades. I was craving a burger so I had a 1/3 pound burger and then included a sauce and toppings from like a McDonald's Big Mac burger. My friend ordered a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato mayonnaise, and onion We ordered a large order of onion rings to accompany our burger After a 5 to 7 minute, wait the burgers arrived! My burger arrived, exactly as I ordered a medium rare. This burger was hand formed 1/3 pound of fresh hamburger. It was so juicy. It was also grilled with love. The toppings were spot on would like having a big Mac. I loved the soft roll. So fresh so spongy so delicious. The onion rings were on point, and there were so many in my order. I took some home. Moms spinach pie was absolutely delightful. The lady got some fish Idk she loved it and still talking about it . ( I'm not into fish personally so I'll take her word on it ) Imo - The pizza was ok. Def not the shining star - The ice cream cake was a goddamn slam dunk - Divine and delicious . I eagerly await another piece sometime in the future . The real winner here is the owners reply to the 1 star reviews - which I read in their entirety . Could be a stand up routine for sure . The points made by them are All valid and they defend this place with All the love and intelligence that goes into making such an establishment fantastic to begin with . Very cool place, and very cool ambiance. The walls are plastered with old timey photos and things, suspended from the ceiling was a small train track with a model train moving around, a magic 8-ball was sitting by the salt and pepper, a magician was walking around entertaining the table with kids. I stopped in this afternoon because I was hungry for a chili dog platter. For $8.25 you get two chili dogs and a pile of incredibly good steak fries. My wife and I went furniture shopping in Granby last week and stopped by Antonio's on the way back. It's still our goto place for great food and vibes in a casual, clean and fun restaurant. We've been coming here since the mid 70's and we have never been disappointed. In fact, I nominated them twice for best hamburger in the state and best restaurant in the state. Bottom line: I found it enjoyable. Solid. Give it a try. More detail: Decor is a bit unique and gives it a playful, casual vibe. Food is good. Service was really great; the entire staff was working hard the night I was there. Prices are reasonable. Menu, while clearly Italian, was diverse. Burgers. Pizza. Pasta. Chicken. Steak. We are all doing our best. I am happy to see him stand up for his staff, truly; but I guess we know where being customers lie. You don't need to know how to respond if you actually just take to heart the feedback from someone who has loved your restaurant. And I have left many positive reviews over the years, that's silly to add in information you do not know. After 30 years of coming here we unfortunately may have to stop. There has been some consistent quality issues in the food (as if they're trying to find a way to keep prices the same by sacrificing flavor or quality) that we chocked up to the pandemic and prices. However after a few interactions with the new manager, Jess, what felt like home about this place and their care of customers has declined. I know Steve cares greatly about Antonio's legacy and this community and hope to see this ironed out before 860-FEED no longer needs to be memorized. read more

I have been coming to Antonio'a since I was a kid. My parents would give me and my friends some cash and we'd go out to eat here. So many incredible memories. Joe Smith has watched me grow up in a booth by the window. Now I see Joe on the other side at Hoops! The decor is so cool. I have been coming for 20+ years and every time I find something new to see! The food brings such comfort. If you don't start your meal with the garlic bread, you're missing out! The grinders, pizza, pasta... EVERYTHING is comfort. My family has eaten here and celebrated many occasions in the back room including my surprise 30th birthday where my friends got to try the LEGENDARY Opus bread! Delightful food, from pizza to grinders to entrees and specials. Definitely ask about the specials when ordering takeout because they are very good. Service is prompt and helpful. We order from Antonio's frequently, and only once or twice had a mistake with an order, usually minor and taken care of over the phone. Burgers are really good, but I love the entrees. And the tiramisu. And the wings - oh the wings! Before this past year, we often ate in the restaurant and had similarly wonderful experiences. In terms of pricing, it's competitive for the Granby/Simsbury area, and you more than get what you pay for. Generous portions, excellent quality, terrific variety. My only peeve (very small)? If you have kids (or have never quite outgrown what it feels like to be one) you really need to come here at least once. Eyes will pop out at the sheer volume of flea market pop culture stuff crammed onto just about every square inch of wallspace. If the kids ever get bored looking at that, they have time killers like Barrel of Monkeys, Magic 8-Ball, Trivial Pursuits, and the Take One Away Triangle puzzle on every table. Visually, it is a stunning place, sort of like a Cracker Barrel on steroids with Cabbage Patch Kids and a stuffed purple Barney up on the walls. Check out the pics to see what I mean. I think this is the oldest restaurant in Simsbury. When our kids were little, we came here for dinner (usually Italian) a few times a month, but we haven't been here in quite a while. So it was very nostalgic for us to drop in for lunch today, and relive all of the happy memories the restaurant's interior unlocked for us. Our kids were alway fascinated by the Magic 8-ball and that silly triangular peg game. Oh and the model trains that circle on a ceiling-suspended track over the dining room tables. We had a cup of Minestrone, and 2 wraps for lunch. The soup was definitely one of the better minestrones I have had- great flavorful broth with all of the usual suspects inside- carrots, pasta, beans, etc. It was also reasonably priced at $2.95. Our two wraps were a Heather's Healthy Wrap ($6.25) described as "a quarter pound of fresh turkey breast, a sprinkle of diced ripe tomatoes and shards of crisp iceberg lettuce" with 2 cheeses on a tortilla wrap. I opted for the "Celestial "Sort of Spicy" Chicken Wrap" ($8.95) described as "a grilled chicken breast dredged in 13 magical Cajun spices, rolled in a warm flour tortilla with fresh spinach leaves, roasted red peppers, sweet onion, Swiss cheese and enhanced with a drizzle of our new Cajun Ranch dressing". I asked for the Cajun Ranch on the side -it turned out to be pretty damned good- with great heat and flavor. The Cajun chicken didn't pack much Cajun flavor, but it was well cooked and made for a very yummy sandwich. Including a bottomless soft drink, our bill was a shade under $22. Our young server was attentive, efficient and very personable. She offered my soda refill "to go" and that was a nice touch. All in all, we had a very pleasant luncheon in a place that will always have a sweet spot in my heart. Maybe we'll have dinner here again soon. read more

A couple months ago I ordered a salad, which I have ordered several times before. The chicken wasn't good (kinda leathery and poor taste) and the quantity of the chicken and other salad ingredients was lower. A week or so ago I tried the club sandwich (again a dish I had eaten several times in the past) and the quantity and quality was noticeably poorer. I suspect the restaurant is facing increased costs and doesn't want the menu prices in increase much, or at all. Don't think your customers don't notice this trend. Please consider going back to the delicious and large meals you used to serve, and increase the prices if necessary. I will wait a while (months, probably) before trying this restaurant again. read more

An absolute gem right on the Simsbury-Granby town line. The atmosphere is always welcoming and the restaurant is unique in its absolutely to fill every nook and cranny with a Knick-knack to keep you entertained for hours. The menu is extensive, and while I don't think their pizza lives up to the high standards of CT pizza, their chicken club sandwich remains an absolute favorite of mine. If you get a chance, I would recommend eating in as the tables have fun games to play like TrIvial pursuit cards, magic 8 balls, and barrel of monkeys. Every waitress I've ever had here is a delight, but be prepared to wait on busy weekend nights for a table as the other locals are aware of just how fun Antonio's is. Found this hidden place thanks to a colleague and been to Antonio's twice in the past month for quick work lunches and the experiences have been pleasant. I like that you seat yourself and the servers usually are quick to bring you menus and any extra silverware if needed and take your order. The toasted garlic bread before the meal is a great bonus. The decor is a bit outdated and there's a lot of stuff but I think that was their intention. It's great for quick work lunches or an outing with the family. The regular salads are huge(learned that the first time) second time I ordered the small and that was perfect lunch portion. Looking forward to trying more of their menus as I have a feeling I will be visiting them working in the area. read more

I have always been pleased with the food at Antonios (great grinders, pizza & pasta dishes are good, Chicken Marsala, Salmon, Pickle chips (omg so yummy!), - Have never been disappointed. Lately, as I've changed to a Keto ("bad carb" free) diet, I love Antonios even more for offering most of their pasta dishes with a ZOODLE pasta option! They also offer Gluten free options. Sometimes they're a little stingy with it, but I'm ordering mostly for-delivery, so maybe it's different in house? We had a side room for a special graduation gathering of four BFFs from nearby Westminster School. The service was outstanding, and the set up was fantastic. The food was predictable, which is great if you can eat allergen-laden food. Everyone seemed to enjoy the cheesy bread sticks and fried mozzarella sticks. I can vouch for the salad with its crisp greens and tangy dressing. The Parmesan Chicken was certainly better than what I can make at home, but it wasn't outstanding in any way, aside from being plentiful and nicely warm. I skipped on the Chicken Marcella and the pastas. It looked like comfort food, and the servers were fabulous about keeping drinks filled and at clearing used dishes. We had a lot of food left over, so the staff kindly packaged everything up for us. For a large group dining experience, this was wonderful. I highly recommend Antonio's. The Fettucine was awful. It tasted like milk on top of noodles. No flavor at all, very bland. The crab cakes were not tasty at all either. The food felt like it was cooked for old people only, who have high blood pressure and had to add their own spices to make the food taste good. Very disappointed. it was a very bad experience.
